End of Boko Haram is at hand

The Nigerian Army troops deployed in Operation LAFIYA DOLE clearing the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists have been busy performing their assigned tasks with varying degrees of satisfactorily accomplishments.

It is in this regards that the troops of 114 Task Force Battalion of 28 Task Force Brigade, embarked on aggressive patrol to dominate and secure the road linking Izge and Bitta. During the operation, the patrol came across 43 persons that escaped from one of the Boko Haram terrorists hideout in Madube. The escapees comprised of 10 men, 14 women and 19 children. They are currently being screened and profiled at the Battalion Headquarters.

Similarly, troops of 115 Task Force Battalion of the same Brigade, in conjunction with some vigilante groups, also carried out patrols to Pegana, Joma, Wambiyar, Dille, Pumpum, Zah, Miya and Pugula communities and cleared them of Boko Haram terrorists.
Yesterday, some elements of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), arrested and handed over a suspected Boko Haram terrorist, named Garba Thlama Mussa to the unit. He is currently being interrogated and would be handed over to Joint Intelligent Committee.

The troops of 117 Battalion also carried out patrol within Mubi North and Mubi South to ensure general security of the areas. The same unit also provided security to Adamawa State boundaries adjustment committee during their visit to Kwaja village in Mubi Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Troops of 143 Battalion also carried out patrol in Bebel, Fattude, Teddei, Hyambula and Sukur.

We are pleased to state that the troops in that axis are in high spirit determined to continue doing the nation proud.
The story is the same in 22 Brigade area of operations as troops of 3 Battalion also conducted foot and mobile patrols towards Diema, Tatakura and Kala villages in which they had contact with Boko Haram terrorists and killed 2 of them and recovered some dangerous weapons.

Similarly, troops of 22 Brigade Garrison in conjunction with a detachment of Nigeria Custom Services personnel conducted patrol along Dikwa-Mafa-Maiduguri road to keep it safe.
As the security situation kept improving in the North East especially in the liberated and cleared areas, other security and Para-military agencies have started redeploying back to their locations. It was to this end that the Nigerian Immigration Service has also deployed its personnel in Dikwa. The 21 personnel were received and briefed at the Headquarters 22 Brigade Garrison. The team is undergoing training on mines and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) awareness and ground signs before they commence work.

In a related development, the troops of 22 Brigade Garrison, intercepted 14 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) which include 3 men, 3 women, 6 male children and 2 female children coming to Dikwa from Chingowa village. The IDPs were screened by the troops and the Civilian JTF at the area and then handed over to Dikwa IDP Coordinator for further screening, registration and rehabilitation.

Sadly, an administrative patrol was ambushed an administrative patrol 12 kilometres to Gwoza. Unfortunately 3 soldiers and 13 other civilians were wounded. All of the wounded have been evacuated to 21 Brigade Medical Reception Station. They are all in stable condition and responding to treatment.

The remains of two brilliant lady who lost their lves while taking selfie at Elegushi beach last week were committed to mother earth yesterday at the Ikoyi cemetery.Adeshola Ogunmefun was buried around 11:30am while Funmi Odusina was buried around 12:20pm.The long time friends were buried next to each other.

The attention of the 82 Division, Nigerian Army has been drawn to a planned release of report by Amnesty International on the recent violent activities by IPOB and MASSOB on 31st May 2016 in which they were alleging that the Nigerian Army planned the killing of the protesters. This is not true but the usual calculated attempt to rubbish the Security forces in particular and the Nigerian Army just to remain relevant.

It should be noted that the Non-governmental organization has always been of the habit of being the judge and jury in matters of our national security without recourse to fairness, objectivity, all aimed at rubbishing the Nigerian Army for reasons best known to them. This could not be far from trying albeit unsuccessfully to be relevant and justify funding.

For the avoidance of doubt, what transpired that fateful day was that some elements of MASSOB/IPOB engaged in violent protests which led to outright breakdown of law and order. The pro-Biafra protesters who had chosen the day to mark the 50th Anniversary of Biafra perpetrated a number of unimaginable atrocities to unhinge the reign of peace, security and stability in several parts of Anambra State. A number of persons were selected for attack, killed and burnt. Two personnel of the Nigeria Police were killed, several soldiers were wounded, a Nigeria Police vehicle was completely burnt down while another of the Nigerian Army was vandalized. The strategic Niger Bridge at Onitsha was at the verge of being captured particularly with the coordinated reinforcement of the violent protesters from the Asaba end of the Bridge. In addition, wanton destruction of lives and properties were brazenly carried out by the protesters who employed firearms, crude weapons as well as other volatile cocktails such as acid and dynamites. In consequence, law, order and security were grossly threatened across the State and beyond.

The Nigerian Army in synergy with other security agencies under its constitutional mandates for Military Aid to Civil Authority (MACA) and Military Aid to Civil Power (MACP) acted responsively in order to de-escalate the deteriorating security situation. Instructively, the military and other security agencies exercised maximum restraints against the odds of provocative and inexplicable violence that were employed against them by the pro-Biafra protesters. The military and of course the other security agencies acted professionally within the extant Rules of Engagement to successfully de-escalate the budding anarchy. It is rather inconceivable for any individual or group to have decided to inundate the general public with an anecdote of unverified narratives in order to discredit the Nigerian Army in the course of carrying out its constitutional duties despite the premeditated and unprovoked attacks in the hands of the violent pro-Biafra mob as Amnesty International is determined to do.

FG government yesterday inaugurated a National Task Force on Rice and Wheat production.Disclosing the news,VP Osinbajo said....


'We established a National Rice and Wheat Task Force to set up targets that will yield comprehensible and self-evident results in rice and wheat production in the country.

Agriculture is our main stay and we are trying to evolve a strategy for our economy, a strategy for employment and a strategy for feeding our people.

Rice and wheat is our main focus and we hope to show the world how serious we are.

The underlisted are terms of reference for the task force.

i. to set up production targets for rice and wheat in the participating states;

ii. to determine the scope and particulars for government support needed towards the attainment of the set targets;

iii. to consider and proffer the best off-take and marketing arrangements that will encourage maximum effort among the farmers/millers;

iv. to determine the rice and wheat value chain deficiencies and recommend solutions for addressing them;

v. to mobilize farmers and millers in identified target states to engage the CBN Anchor Borrowers’ Programme and other available support facilities;

vi. to establish timelines for the delivery of goals set by the Task force

The members of the task force include Governors of Kebbi State, Senator Abubakar A. Bagugu, Dr. A. U. Ganduje of Kano State, and Engr. David Umahi of Ebonyi State. Others are the Minister of State for Agriculture Lokpobiri Heineken, the President of Rice Farmers Association Mallam Aminu Goronyo and the President Wheat Farmers Association Saliu Mohammed.'

Skales is finally back on the scene, following his arrest on fraud charges, and is now working with Africa’s biggest promoter and talent manager, Paul Okoye of Upfront Bookings, on a new deal.

According to the photo shared on Instagram by OAP Daddy Freeze, the singer is about to smile again. “Something is cooking,” Daddy Freeze captioned their photo, adding, “Watch out!”

And then he copied Paul Okoye.



Recall that social media was sent on a meltdown after the ‘Shake Body’ singer and his manager Osagie Osarenkhoe were arrested for their involvement in a N13million fraud case against label record, Baseline Records.

Days later, Osagie was compelled by the record label to step down as the singer’s manager, and she released a statement to that effect.


Skales is bouncing back from that huge setback,with Africa’s biggest promoter Paul Okoye by his side.

Paul Okoye is credited with getting almost all Nigeria’s top stars their endorsement deals (including GLO, MTN and Pepsi deals), and gigs at top festival appearances abroad. Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz is also signed to his company.
