Unemployment Made Me Impersonate Lagos Land Use Officer - Suspect Olaitan Shofolahan, 37, a man arrested by the operatives of Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command for impersonating officials of the Lagos State Land Use Charge has blamed unemployment as the cause of his action. Shofolahan, an Accounting graduate of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State, was arrested on Thursday in Lekki Phase 1, in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos. He was arrested while attempting to defraud a resident of the posh estate of several millions Land Use Charge dues. The suspect, who was working in his brother’s audit firm in Sabo, Yaba area of Lagos, before abandoning the job in search of better offer. He stated that his moves to join the Lagos State Public Service were frustrated by lack of vacancy. According to the suspect, “I was working with my brother in his audit firm in Sabo, Yaba, earning N45,000 monthly salary before I left the firm in search of employment. I was at Lagos State Civil Service Commission several times to seek employment. It was during one of my visits that I learnt that payment for Land Use Charge in the state is through a code. The code is engraved on every metal sticker issued to every house.” “It is with this code that you get an annual bill of the house and that you can get your charges printed out for you free with the bills. That was how I started moving round choice location to get their code and print their bills…. Any house that does not owe, I discard but those with huge bills, I work on them. But I noticed that some of them requested for my id–card. I forged a Lagos State Government identity card using a sample that I saw somewhere in Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja,” he stated. He added, “I have being in the business since February, 2015. I have observed that owners of buildings in Lekki have capacity to settle their bills quickly, that was why I have focused there. Unfortunately for me, it was this location that I was caught…. I entered the building in Lekki Phase 1, unknown to me that the officials of the Lagos State Land Use Charge were there with the house owner. I saw the owner discussing with them but I didn’t know their identity. The owner of the building after sitting me down, invited RRS officials to arrest me.” Shofolahan explained further; “since I have been impersonating, I have only realised N30,000 which I collected from an home owner in Alausa while pretending to be an official of the State. I have not collected any other money apart from that. Each and every time I visited these buildings, they ask me to come back later”. Found with the suspect after his arrest were five land use bills with varied charges above N1 million and a forged identity card of The Lagos State Government. Confirming the incident, the Police PPRO, ASP Olarinde Famous Cole, said that there would be no hiding place for criminals in Lagos State adding that officers of the command are at alert to nip crime in the bud. The suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, for further investigations cc; Lalasticlala,mynd44 Source: http://www.trezzyhelm.com/2017/03/unemployment-made-me-impersonate-lagos.html?m=1

As shared by Nigerian man Okpanachi who lives in London...... 'So yesterday at Barnet Hive, North West London where the Super Eagles of Nigeria battled the Teranga Lions of Senegal, I saw one Nigeria NG. I saw Nigerians come together irrespective of tribe ethnicity & religion. I met Nigerians I have never met in my life, it was like one big family as we sang danced and cheered our Green White Green Team up. Especially when we were one goal down to the giant & tall Senegalese players. We started our usual song ; ALL WE ARE SAYIINNGGG GIVE US ONE GOALLLL!! And as such, the Eagles responded from the spot thru Kelechi Iheanacho. It was a wonderful togetherness yesterday as we jumped on each other in celebration. Shortly, another thought stroke me, why can't we all be united & cheerful like this always and all the time?? Why must it be football that brings us together in love and harmony like this?? That thought was what I went to bed with not the football match. SO, HELP US GOD' Source: http://www.trezzyhelm.com/2017/03/see-what-nigerian-man-who-lives-in-uk.html?m=1

As shared by Abdullahi,a doctor who lives in Maiduguri....... 'The incident is still fresh in our minds to date we don't know the faith of those who lost the life's, and those who sustained injuries in Rann IDP camp bombing. Women were made widows, children became orphan's many became disabled some lost their mind as a result of the trauma. They said there was a presidential committee to handle this situation, we have not seen there effort yet it is only the NGOs, we don't even know there mandate. Those supposed to speak for us kept quit! It was only more than two hundred chibouk girls were abducted the whole world protested, many people came out demonstrating, putting pressure on government to bring back the girls. Most of these girls were not even killed. Government did more than its best concerning the girls. In kala Balge bombing where, more than two hundred and thirty people died instantly nothing has been done. Where are the activist that we use to see demonstrating when chibouk girls were abducted? Government response is look worm! These pictures you see below is just a fraction of what happened. I doubt if these people have a right to Justice!! Or is it because the victims of Rann IDP camp bombing are all Muslims. I see it only become a matter of urgency only when Christians are involved in this country' Source: http://www.trezzyhelm.com/2017/01/is-presidential-committee-on-idp-camp.html

Mrs. Ambode charges parents to maintain clean environment Wife of the Lagos State Governor, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode has charged parents in the State to encourage hand-washing among their children as well as maintain a clean and healthy environment in order to prevent them from contracting infections. The Lagos First Lady gave the charge while speaking at Maryland, lkeja during the flag-off of the mass de-worming exercise for primary school pupils organized by the State’s Ministry of Youth and Social Development. She noted that worm parasites contributed significantly to malnutrition in children by stealing the nutrients they ingest, leading to dangerous health conditions like severe anaemia, stunted growth and low immunity amongst others. According to her, “De-worming children helps them to develop well and boost their learning capability. This is a great advantage that cannot be ignored because good academic performance will to a large extent determine the future of a child”. Speaking further, Mrs. Ambode reminded teachers of their responsibility towards educating children on healthy habits for good growth and development. In her contribution, the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf, disclosed that over 60,000 pupils from various primary schools in the State would be de-wormed using WHO-recommended drugs. She revealed that worm infection had been identified as one of the major challenges to healthy growth and development of children, which the human system did not have the natural means of combating. According to her, “Worms infect more than one-third of the world’s population, with the most intense infections in children and the poor”. She promised that the current administration would continue to take proactive measures that would assist healthy development and robust welfare of children in the State. cc; Lalasticlala,mynd44 Source: http://www.trezzyhelm.com/2017/01/mrs-bolanle-ambode-flagged-off-mass-de.html
