Stretching the truth is what you do. Thomas recused himself from Eastman's ( Trump's lawyer) case over emails turned over to J6 committee. Because they included Eastman's emails to Clarence Thomas wife.

And there is strong valid argument for removing criminal trump off the ballot next year, for example the case in Colorado. Criminal trump will be off the ballot in one or two battleground states. But it will be quite easy in holdouts like New Mexico to boot the criminal off the ballot.
