Good evening Nairalanders, Please permit me to share my story anonymously because I need advice, and maybe, just maybe, someone here might have experienced something similar or can help. In May 2023, I received a long-awaited federal appointment offer from a top government financial institution. It felt like a dream come true. The offer letter clearly stated that I had to resign from my current job before documentation, so I did. At the time, I was working with a leading commercial bank. I had stability, was on track for confirmation as full staff, and was doing well. But I made the tough decision to resign because I didn’t want to disobey the instructions in the appointment letter. I believed that better things were ahead. Unfortunately, that belief is what’s hurting me today. Since then ,no induction, no documentation, no follow-up. Nothing. The management of the institution changed shortly after we received the offer, and since then, it has been complete silence. I’m not the only one. There are many others like me — young Nigerians who resigned, relocated, and gave up good jobs or businesses for this opportunity. A few are now depressed. Some haven’t recovered financially. And worst of all, we have no official statement telling us whether to keep hoping or move on. Right now, I am unemployed, struggling, and confused. Did I make a mistake by trusting the system? How do I explain to people that I resigned from a bank job based on a federal offer that never materialized? This is not a pity post. I’m just tired. Maybe someone here knows what we can do, or whom to speak to. Please, if you’ve ever experienced something similar or have helpful advice, I’m listening. Thank you for reading. |
Good evening house, Pls do anyone have any info concerning CBN... |
freddybonz:Seriously co-asking.. |
Butkt:I co ask on this. Especially for those with APL since last year June. |
Mohisah:Inasmuch it may be a forgotten case, I know someone there that stayed 8months after collecting before they reached out to her to resume |
Sorry I didn't see the "maybe" Can't say of their plans cuz this the second set that's taking test and interview after we got APL Just to keep praying and hoping.....quote author=Swagsultan1 post=125832024] Wawuuu! I said ‘maybe’ you’ve resumed. So what plans do they have for you guys now? This one that they are conducting interviews for another set
|
I personally called the HR to know if the offer will elapsed after the third month as stated in the offer letter, the dude that picked was saying it's a 50-50 stuff, that was when I knew I entered one chanced factonly0000: |
The person who said we have resumed duty is wrong. Funnily most of us resigned from our former place of work cuz of the APL we got awaiting documentation which we didn't come till date factonly0000: |

Thank you for your response, though my connect is a very close ally to the suspended governor, since the suspension he has been unreachable.More reason I became scared especially after resigning from my former. |
Mohisah:No it's not a fake letter,as I know some people that we did medicals with but have resumed before the governor was suspended. I am only scared if the new boss can cancel an appointment that's already be given. |
Odaolivia:Pls can anyone respond |
Good morning fam, Pls I want to confirm if an Appointment can be cancelled even after APL have been given and thus have been accepted, though I am yet to do documentation. I picked up APL from CBN on May 15th before the Governor was suspended |
