Is he saying that Nigeria is the most populous nation with large Christian and Muslim population or is it calling Nigeria an Islamic nation that is populated by the largest number of Christians? If the latter is what he said then it's a shame that Goodluck Jonathan even associates with people that have such a mindset not to talk of making such a person a minister. It just shows that GEJ has bad people advising him because he picks his ministers based on the advise he gets from people.

I pray that cost of fuel is raised some more to its maximum.
I pray that electricity collapses completely.
I pray that the government would run out of money
I pray that the Nigerian masses would reach their lowest living standard.
I pray that all this happens immediately within a day or so.


Why? you may ask

Because I blieve it would take this type of condition to make Nigerians reach their lowest ebb and hopeful get them to get on to the streets and protest against corruption.

Ibrahim Babangida releases 87 from jail[/size]

LAGOS, Nigeria, Aug. 31— Nigeria's new military Government today began freeing scores of people detained by the country's former rulers.

The Armed Forces Ruling Council, whose leaders took power in a coup four days ago, on Friday night ordered the release of 87 people jailed by the former regime.

The 87 included former Cabinet ministers, state governors, journalists and foreign businessmen.

Nigeria's new leader, Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, said the detainees were being set free as part of his policy to end human rights abuses.

A spokesman said that the cases of other prisoners would be reviewed and that many were likely to be set free.

Many of the prisoners released today were rounded up in anti-corruption drives. Others had been held for months without formal charges.
