oglalasioux:The so called shrine was the man thing before the advent of foreign religion yet people lived happily then. Religion don't cure malaria, I think if it does, government needs to build more churches and mosques instead of Hospitals. |
daneni1:God will grant you more in everything you ever wish for in you life. |
ipodstinks:What do you gain calling others names, tribe, language and religion is free. Don't be a bad Omoluabi, remember charity begins at home. |
Segadem:Kindly tell us what will happen when if its the Quran. Average reasoning of a typical Nigerian, the thread is all about religious tolerance and the op took his time to encourage the need for tolerance regardless of our religious affiliations. If you can't add meaningful thought don't add fuel to the fire. Omoluabi I remain....... Peace. |
pepigeorge:Change you perception, hate will not add value to you. Remember pointing an evil finger to someone, the remaining four fingers are for you alone. |

alBHAGDADI:I'm not joining issues with you but I'm opined to ask what you gain from these quotes. Someone is preaching peace but you're doing otherwise. Are you a boko harram member or apologist? |
realone2012:As much as I respect your opinion and believe me I do, Souther Kaduna issue has been a perennial issue. This issue is recurrent as far back as 1980, those who witness the imbroglio are not the ones ranting on social media. We want peace in the country regardless of our religious and political affiliations, also religious leaders need to be mindful of what they preach. This hate speech will lead to destruction hence, it will consume us all. Let us embrace PEACE for the sake of GOD and pray GOD help restore this nation to enviable height. |

cj4blues: Try to reason well, it could help you. Nigeria will not divide on religious lines because the country was not built on it. Your assertions is worrisome to Nigeria's entity. |
We all need peace irrespective of our religious, political affiliations and ethnicity. Nigeria as a nation will get out of hand if religious leaders voice out decisive statement. Either Christian, Muslim or other religion you belong, the most important thing we all need is peace. Before we pass judgement on any issue in my own rational thinking, the genesis of this problem need to be understood so as to find lasting solution to the problem. I'm hoping these extracts will sooth some minds about the whole imbroglio....... By the time you are reading this piece, three local governments in southern Kaduna are being placed under curfew. The curfew became necessary due to heighten tension and to avert loss of lives and properties as stated by the executive governor of the state, Malam Nasiru El-Rufa’i. The southern Kaduna communities have been experiencing incessant and violent attacks by the suspected Fulani herdsmen. Although the rampant attacks could be described as a reprisal by the Fulani nomads who suffered heavy losses during the post-election violence in 2011, the area has had history of unrest ranging from communal, ethnic and religion. Notably among them are: Kasuwan Magani in the then Kachia local government in 1981, Kafanchan in 1987, 1996 and 1999, Zangon Kataf 1992, post-election violence 2011 to mention but a few. These series of upheavals have led to the death of many innocent lives while properties worth billions of naira destroyed. The nagging question begging for answers are: why all these crises? What are the motives of these evils darkness? To understand the recurring crises that defied any lasting solution in the zone for the past four decades, one needs to understand the complexities of the area, in terms of religion and ethnicity. Southern Kaduna is a predominantly Christian area with a sizeable Muslim minority including various ethnic groups with diverse cultural and historical background. Alongside these peculiarities, the area has continued to experience incessant crises. It was believed to have been fueled by bigotry, religious intolerance and deep-seated historical animosity festered by current herdsmen/farmers clashes and indigene versus settlers eccentricities. These issues have been squarely addressed in chapter 4 of the 1999 constitution which guarantees freedom of worship and movement. On the indigene versus settler’s issue, we are all living in denial because every Nigerian is a settler. People who still harbour this parochial and narrow minded thinking should go back to history. The crisis would have taken a dangerous dimension had government not hurriedly intervened. Though the Fulani herdsmen have been identified as the aggressors in this latest episode, the southern Kaduna communities were also guilty of revenge killings against innocent Hausa or Muslim travellers who are plying the region’s highways. While some elites in the state are not helping matters through their unguarded utterances, the government should explore any method possible to ensure the return of peace and harmony in the area.
