SoNature: You were making sense until you got to the emboldened.
Don't take the position that someone else is supposed to be occupying because of frivolities.
If you have earned enough money from freelancing, you should be thinking of creating a job because that's what freelancing is about.
Anyway, I want to start my business and keep someone there. Whenever I am lonely, I will go and chill out in the shop.
There is no denying the fact that freelancing makes people recluses. On top of that, people also have misconception about working from home.
For instance, in my compound, those who are not close to me think I am a Yahoo guy because I don't go anywhere, yet I live a good life.
But I would rather start a business than return to 9-5..God forbid! I still be learner for freelancing o. But I'll take a good freelancing career over office work anytime any day. Who gist help? |

AtoningBlood: I started an online business - selling cloths but still same as freelancing, no physical contact, I don stop.
I want face me i face you.
I don't like opening shops, aproko in market places is killing, can lead to physical fight, I cant deal. But office aproko, heheehe, no one can fight you, if you don't like me, face your system. from what I can deduce, you like the office lifestyle. I don't know about your networking skills but there are ways to get pals that are like-minded. You can even rent an office space. Just offer services related to your gig, offline. Employ two staff members, make una dey gist. There are many things to do to kill loneliness without looking for a job o. But like I said, you seem to like the office lifestyle. Incase you get work SHA and won give person you account I dey here o. |

Kimbeast: What is your opinion about the case of Jordan ibe and Nedum Onuoha. We called onuoha and he rejected saying he was waiting for England call up, that was in 2007 and up till now he still waiting. Ibe rejected Nigeria and he is still in the same limbo as onuoha. We are free to make choices and we also bear the responsibilities that comes with those choices. Those guys felt they were up to the challenge, but sadly the challenge challenged them. I would be lying to myself if I say there is no iota of favouritism when you decide to play for a secondary country, but I'll also tell you that there is a level you get to that favouritism will be in your favour; take 'boathand' for example. |

FunnyDude: Sure, freelancing has been dope. Come to think of it, everything in this world have a good side and bad side of it, living a computer life restrict one most times and make one a loner.
By the way, nothing stop anyone from having a paid job and still doing freelancing at the side. You earn from both ways and still cure loneliness at the same time.
In Nigeria, you need streams of income to be in the middle class.
TGIF!!!! Great points you have there. Everything has its good and bad sides. |

chrome001: You know it isn't just about the money...
Freelancing can even affect our mental health.
I'm thinking of having a side business that'd involve me actually meeting people.
The primary reason for the side business isn't the money but the contact with real people. The side biz is better. I don't buy into the idea of getting a job to kill boredom. For me freelancing is a means to an end, not the end in itself. |

spillo1: is Barca and Madrid not an higher level than Roma/ Chelsea? Is totti a pussy for rejecting Madrid? The highest level England can compete in is at the world same with Nigeria so what are you saying? You failed with your logic of using Better job offers. Players have rejected better offers and nothing happened. Totti ain't no sissy. Totti was constantly called to Italy squad. He enjoyed life and football at Roma. What will Madrid and Barcelona give lampard that Chelsea did not give him? Please don't come with higher pay matter. I still can't lay hands on your logic of using club to counter points on international football, when in the end it's what you play in club football that will get used to judge your call up. Do better. You are losing this case. |

Better offer that will leave you jobless in less than a month. wetyn this one dey talk? Players that played top level, you are saying better offer. ABI you dey rate Nigeria same with England? spillo1: We are mentioning the failed players to prove a point that choosing the bigger nation(Spain/England) over the smaller nation (Serbia/Nigeria ) is not always the right decision like in the case of munir, bojan, solanke etc. No one is saying Abraham picking England is bad but as a player you pick a nation that will guarantee you a regular first team spot. Dele Ali picked England and it has been successful for him so In hindsight he made the right decision but they are also cases of bojan who picked Spain over Serbia and it failed woo fully. Every man with his own decisions and they will have to live with it. Staying in your comfort zone leaves you stagnant. Why should he choose the easy way out? George weah Wen choose Liberia, what did he achieve there? |

gensteejay: This debate is really a strawman argument. It's a no-brainer really.
At the risk of sounding overly pessimistic, Nigeria is really in a big mess. Sadly, most of us in this country can't see this: We're sitting on a time bomb and the future of this country is very bleak.
The brain drain is too appalling. Too many skilled, brilliant Nigerians are leaving the country at an alarming rate.
The human resource is any country's greatest asset, and Nigeria is losing hers alarmingly.
This country kills people's dreams; many citizens having realized this don't want to commit their future to the gruesome reality.
It's sad most Nigerians can't think deeply. They prefer to pray. Lol.
It's a lost cause. People are flying off to Canada, someone is telling me to come and play for Nigeria. It's like they don't read news. Nigeria has a bad reputation now. Suicide bombers, fraud and the likes. Forget munir or bojan. Naija is a wicked country and don't honour past heroes. See what they did to kanu and his hotel. No be for internet we see one man Wen dey deal in Nigeria made rice? Custom raided his warehouse because of egunje. I don't know if there is anything like international citizenship, but I'll like to be one. No affiliation to any nation. Just odizee, from earth. |
