Year 2017 one useless guy who is a neighbor's son assaulted my parents. We had him arrested and despite police trying to let him off the hook , we pressed charges and the matter got to court.

It was there I knew what our justice system looked like. You know cases would be called before it gets to ur case, one guy's case was pathetic. He's been held at kirikiri for 3years. What was his offence? He was mistakenly arrested in place of another person. Boys were pursuing someone else but he was wearing the same colour of shirt as the thief's and boom they rushed him, took him to the police despite not seeing the stolen item on him.

The police charged him to court after which the police IPO in charge of his case never appeared in court for any of his subsequent hearing. Each time his case is read in court, the IPO will be nowhere to be found and the magistrate will adjourn for another 4 months after which he will be taken back to kirikiri. The magistrate was in a good mood that day and said he will throw his case out and ordered him to do 2 hours of community service and be allowed to go home. This young man broke down in tears. He's the only member of his family in Lagos and nobody knew he was in jail sef.
