As a groom, What will you do? ------------ A cheating best man lied to his friend of nearly 20 years that he had terminal cancer while fleecing him and their friends out of thousands of pounds for non-existent stag parties. Martyn Galvin, 30, claimed to be organising stag weekends in Prague and York Races for a school friend he had known for 18 years. In fact he pocketed the £7,945 he received from the lads and poured it into his own gambling habit and extravagant spending as he flashed and splashed cash on; himself. The stag group of 17 reached Newcastle Airport to discover no flights or hotel rooms had been booked, leaving them high and dry. Galvin had falsely told the groom he had been treated for bowel cancer, and that it was terminal, Teesside Crown Court heard yesterday. Shaunae Miller of the Bahamas won a dramatic gold medal in the women's 400m final at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Miller, 22, finished second to Felix at the World Championships in Beijing in 2015 and had a decent lead with 50 metres remaining. However, with Felix closing quickly, a fatigued Miller collapsed over the line to win the gold medal by 0.07secs. In a thrilling sprint finish Miller stumbled across the line as she edged out American world champion Allyson Felix to win in 49.44 seconds. Source: http://www.bbc.com/sport/olympics/36689787

Whether its the standard buffet style brunch at the popular hotel restaurants we all know and love, or a more eclectic selection at local restaurants using indigenous ingredients to serve up an exotic take on the western brunch style, your taste buds are definitely in for a treat. We’ve put together our favourite restaurants in Lagos for delicious brunch that we think you’ll enjoy. 1. Southern Sun Hotel For the brunch newbies in Lagos, Southern Sun is a must. The Sunday brunch at Southern Sun has become a solid Lagosian tradition. Probably because there is a likelihood you’ll run into someone famous/infamous, the buffet is actually good (and extensive), exquisite dinning space and top-notch service. Finally, let’s not forget the bottomless champagne. 2. NOK by Alara There is something unique about the space at Nok by Alara. Its simple, yet stylish decor makes an impression on you every time. The ambiance alone is a reason to come, but the food is the reason to stay. Now that celebrity chef Pierre Thiam has added brunch to Nok’s menu, we love it even more!
