Ritchiee:All NIgerians know this, sir. Yorubas hold the aces to education in Nigeria. |
Putinofrussia:Sure |
lol The normal and usual suspects everyday.Na wah o. It is becoming a kind of curse. May God forgive us all. |

caleboxylic:Did you travel to USA to know that it is better than Ghana? There are SE people begging for alms in the SW. |
kgr8mike:Under Tinubu, why are the govs paying #70,000- #104,000 easily without owing shishi but were owing up to 20-40 months salaries when you said dollar was lower? Why are the govs paying their debts even some up to 85% while they were always borrowing when you said dollar was lower? Why are the govs executing projects right and left without borrowing and doing better than when you said dollar was lower? Why was the FG able to pay all IMF DEBTS off and not able to when you said dollar was lower? Will you prefer going back to when govts couldn't pay workers mere #18,000,#30000? At least we should give kudos to our govt when they do our positive wishes and knock them when they are in the negative. All courtesy of President Tinubu,no other Nigerian President dead or alive, has ever done all of these. Apart from the hardship (we can see that it is easing slowly) which happened because of the fuel and FX subsidies removal,President Tinubu has given more than any Nigerian previous govts within 2 years and I believe, just like other sane Nigerians, that he will do more. He will surely win easily in 2027 now. Coupled with massive ongoing infrastructural development, these are what he has given Nigerians in just 2 years... NELFUND. CONSUMER CREDIT SCHEME. KIDNEY DIALYSIS almost free treatment. (Haemodialysis is expensive, costing approximately N150,000:00 to N250,000:00 every month excluding Erythropoietin injections weekly) Nigeria Technical institutions are free. They live in school free. They eat free food. They even collect #22,500 every month...so you think these students, their families, friends etc will allow you to vote out Tinubu because of your myopic views? Dey play! Old pensioners get free medical treatment in Nigeria. Nigeria doesn't owe IMF shishi. Tinubu has paid all. Nigeria has best tech city (Lagos) in the world 2025. |

Irony1:Sir,think to understand what middle class means and how much spread wealth is among the different major tribes in Nigeria. As the Yorubas have billionaires and millionaires more than Igbos also do they have the spread of well to do individuals and SMEs peoplevmore than them. Just like you will never see Americans coming to beg for alms in Nigeria, you can never see a Yoruba person begging for alms in Igboland but your people are in Ondo,Osun,Ekiti etc begging their hosts for sustenance, begging to eat.Yoruba begs in Yorubaland if he needs to beg. 2.Your people sleep under the bridges in SW while a Yoruba will never do that in the East,he will rather come back home. 3.People migrate to greener pastures, even before Lagos,Igbos have always migrated to Ibadan which was the most developed place in Nigeria then. 4.Yorubas are more skilled in fashion, tailoring,Engineering, building of structures etc. Most of those light poles and structures you see on your roads were and are still being built mostly by Yorubas. 5.In Africa,Yoruba have the highest number of successful musicians from male to female. 6.In law, they dominate and they have done this consistently for decades. 7.In medicine, they dominate and they have don e this for ages too.. 8 In Nollywood as we speak, they have the most successful and richest actors, actresses, directors. In short, they have always had the most grossing movies in Nigeria and Africa for more than a decade now. 9.In tech,,they dominate.Yoruba even have 4 to 5 Unicorns out of the 7 Unicorns that we have in the whole of Africa. 10.If Church were a business, they have the richest churches,GOs,pastors and congregations in Africa. 11.Yorubas have the highest number of private universities, colleges, polythechnics etc in Nigeria. 12.Yorubas have the highest number of industries in Nigeria. We have a thread on nairaland here that showcased the businesses/industries owned by Yorubas and Igbos and Yoruba almost tripled (I think it has quadrupled now) that of Igbos. 13.In petty trading that Igbos are known for, they have their sectors while Yorubas and Hausa have their sectors. Some of the sectors Yoruba dominate are building materials, almost all the petroleum value chain, new and used vehicles, jewelleries, mother care, beauty products, new wear materials, sea food etc. Even Yoruba women are heavily endowed with wealth manifold more than Igbo women who mostly sell groundnut, okpa etc. You will hardly see except a very few Igbo women in business unlike Yoruba women who even compete with Igbo men. If you go to Lagos Island, you will be astonished how rich Yoruba women are. Some of them building three, four storeys houses and using the whole building to store their wares. The list is long but lastly, you will notice that On do,Osun have always been adjudged has the least poverty stricken in Nigeria for a couple of years now, they do not have buildings like that of Anambra but their wealth and satisfaction permeates the whole state. They have a well spread wealth unlike in Enugu,Ebonyi,Anambra etc where the wealth is in few hands. |
banom:lol Out of 18,Yoruba had 9 with Igbos,Hausa and Edo sharing the remaining 9. It is not news again that Yoruba are the doyen of business, not only in Nigeria but also in Africa. Nairametrics just pitied your likes by not adding a long list of Yoruba businesses spanning 80,90 years. |
I didn't see Coleman Cables...The Onafowokans. Coleman Cables began as Coleman Technical Industries Limited, founded in 1975 by Asiwaju Solomon Kayode Onafowokan, with full production commencing in 1996 to manufacture electrical wires and cables that meet international standards. The company's initial vision was to address the local deficit in quality cables and bridge the gap in the Nigerian manufacturing sector by creating jobs. Starting as a small-scale business, it has since grown to become the largest cable manufacturer in West Africa, known for its pioneering role in producing various types of high-quality cables within Nigeria and the region. |

mecuries:The increase was not the result of reckless borrowing but largely due to the effect of naira depreciation on existing external loans. Nigeria’s debt-to-GDP ratio remains between 40 and 45 per cent, which is still moderate compared to countries such as South Africa at 70 per cent and Ghana at over 90 per cent. The real challenge lies in revenue mobilization, not runaway borrowing. Encouragingly, revenues are improving, strengthening our capacity to service obligations. |
Henry1989:For saying the truth and bursting a continual lie and falsehood? |
Ofunaofu:I will believe you if you can post another case in USA in which money was forfeited and it is a drug case.Drug is a no no in USA. President Maduro has a price tag of $50 million on his head as we speak (as sitting President o ) and Juan Orlando Hernández, former President of Honduras was sentenced to 45 Years in prison for conspiring to distribute more than 400 tons of cocaine and related firearms iffenses. Na only conspiring o! Only an illiterate and mumu will believe that Tinubu did drug and came free in USA. USA doesn't play with drugs, sir. |
Mrfixitt:Tinubu is also the person who paid off IMF $3.4 billion dollars' debt and $7 billion dollars owed to airlines by previous govt. He is executing a lot of Projects in the 6 regions. It is better we borrow money to execute projects than embezzling the money. Give kudos to the President. |
Ofunaofu:That was when he didn't know. Remember he also factchecked Tinubu Chicago State University even before Atiku and PDP wasted FX on a goose chase that led to the black hole. Tinubu has always been clean of his opponents' insinuation. |
muhammaduyusufu:Don't know why our blodas always lie and believe their lies. What they always do is spread the lie and continually repeat it every time and everywhere. Believe whatever they say at your own risk. |
helinues:I was telling my friend that Tinubu will sweep all of SW,SS and NC and pick sizeable votes from the other regions to win with a landslide. |
PheelzAlmighty:These are the scenarios :None is good but which one fares better in relation to the population? In 1960....15% of Nigerians were poor. 2006,during Obasanjo.....60% of Nigerians were poor. In 2014,during Jonathan......65% Nigerians were poor. In 2025,during Tinubu 2 and half years.....54% Nigerians are poor. 45 million population... In 1960, around 15% of the Nigerian population was living in poverty, according to data from the Federal Office of Statistics (FOS), the predecessor to the National Bureau of Statistics. This figure represents a time when the country had recently gained independence, and while poverty levels were relatively low, they began to rise in the subsequent decades. 149.1 million population Obasanjo tenure... In 2006, an estimated 65.6% of the Nigerian population was living in poverty, a figure which represented approximately 67.1 million people. This represented a significant increase from previous years and coincided with the declaration of the MDGs in 2000, which aimed to alleviate poverty but saw its impact delayed. 185.9 million population. Jonathan tenure: In 2014, Nigeria's poverty level was reported at around 60% of the population using an international poverty line (approximately $2 per day). While this indicates a substantial portion of the population lived in poverty, specific figures varied depending on the index used, such as the Global Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) from OPHI in 2014, which showed 43.3% multidimensionally poor, or reports from the World Bank stating it was over 60%. 237.5 million population. Tinubu tenure...in 2 .5 years into his tenure. According to the percentage (population wise) Is poverty increasing or decreasing? The North should check themselves the way they are churning out babies with nothing to show for it. Nigeria is facing a rising poverty level in 2025, with projections by PwC and the World Bank indicating that macroeconomic pressures like rising inflation and currency depreciation will push an additional 13 million people below the national poverty line. The World Bank also noted that by 2024, over 54% of Nigerians would be living in poverty, with rural areas significantly more affected. Nigeria also holds the highest share of extremely poor people in sub-Saharan Africa, according to a recent World Bank report. According to the stats up there,Tinubu tenure is better than Obasanjo and Jonathan periods because it is 54%...Obasanjo was 60% and Jonathan was worst with 65% of the population poor. None is good but population especially the non productive is what is pulling Nigeria down negatively. This is why we need this reform which is very painful but needed. The people in govt should stop their extravagant ways and not expect Nigerians to keep mum while they live large. Stop the impunity now. |
owobokiri:That is because they want them to stop their almost unending everyday criminalities. Can't our biodas be clean for once. You are just soiling Nigerians' names. |

Harddiskng:You know nothing about such contracts. Contracts can go awry at times that you will be stuck in the middle. |
Sujimoto goofed by taking that job when he has his own niche that he has never departed from coupled with the fact that he has to use his own money. The pricing was bad and you took it,the fault is yours because you thrashed your professionalism. This, from the Enugu governor, really puts me off: .. There's premeditated intent to defraud the state ab initio. |
