PoliticsBoko Haram Cannot Strike Without You Knowing - Buhari Tells Borno Leader by Ogagist1(op): 8:11am On Feb 13, 2020
President Buhari who paid a condolence visit to Borno State on Wednesday February 12, over the Boko Haram attack which claimed 30 lives in Auno community of Konduga Local Government Area of the state, appealed to local leaders in Borno to support the government in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents.

Speaking during the condolence visit, the Nigerian leader stated that Boko Haram cannot carry out attacks in the state without local leaders knowing. He averred that the local leadership is in charge of security in their own respective areas.

Buhari added;

Boko Haram or whatever they are cannot come to Maiduguri or its environs without the local leadership knowing, the local leadership is in charge of security in their own respective areas.

The President expressed surprise on how Boko Haram has been able to survive the warfare carried out by the Nigerian army till now. Buhari also disclosed that he is working on improving the security condition in the country.

He said;

With my understanding of our culture, I wonder how Boko Haram survives up to this end.

As the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, I campaigned in 2015 and last year on three fundamental issues which include security as you cannot preside over an institution or a country if it is not secured.

We are working for you in this country; as Commander-in-Chief, I am dealing with the security institutions and I believe there is an improvement in security.

I urge the people of the state to cooperate with the law enforcement agencies; let us deny Boko Haram access to our loyal citizens and encourage displaced people to go back to their land.

Cossy Orjiakor, controversial actress and singer, has dropped another bombshell.

In a recent interview, the screen diva, who is known for flaunting her boobs at random, has revealed she will be undergoing surgery to enlarge her bum.

Cossy revealed she named her bum Peter and Paul, though they are not yet as popular as her boobs, which she named Jane and Janet, adding that they will soon be, as she is undergoing plastic surgery to increase them.

According to her, “I am planning to make Peter and Paul as big as Jane and Janet. I got a good deal from a good doctor friend of mine, who is a plastic surgeon. So, I’ll be enlarging my bum soon.

The surgery will be in two weeks’ time. Peter and Paul will be as big as Jane and Janet so that everything will be balanced. As you can see, Jane and Janet are still popping. This is Jane and this is Janet (pointing to her left and right boobs simultaneously). Jane has a tattoo and Janet doesn’t.

I decided to name them because they have a life of their own and they are even more popular than some people. My boobs are all natural and very soft,” Cossy added.

Cossy Orjiakor, who is also a producer and video vixen, came to limelight after featuring in a music video by Obesere.

Recall that Cossy, the Nutty Queen, once said she might soo go topless while responding to an inquiry by one of her followers on Instagram.

according to her, “it was a promise I made to my mum. She begged me never to show off my naked breasts and I have kept the promise ever since.

But now that she’s late, I may consider doing that soon. You know, never know what can happen.

Cossy’s boobs have become legends in the entertainment space and she has been touted by many “Nollywood’s queen of boobs.”

This surgery might make her bum be as popular.

Romance2 In 3 Women Unhappy With Their Breast Size – Surveys by Ogagist1(op): 7:48am On Feb 13, 2020
A new study has revealed that less than one-third of women worldwide are satisfied with the size of their breasts noting that what many women may not realise is their dissatisfaction could have implications for their health.

From surveys by Anglia Ruskin University, in Cambridge, England, of more than 18,500 women in 40 countries, average age 34, found that 48 per cent wanted larger breasts, 23 percent wanted smaller breasts, and only 29 per cent were satisfied with the size of their breasts.

More troubling was the fact that women who were unhappy with their breast size said they were less likely to do breast self-examination and were less confident about detecting changes with their breasts. Bear in mind that breast self-examination is critical for the early detection of breast cancer.

Professor of social psychology at Anglia Ruskin University, in Cambridge, England, Viren Swami said: “Our findings are important because they indicate that the majority of women worldwide may be dissatisfied with the size of their breasts. This is a serious public health concern because it has significant implications for the physical and psychological well-being of women.

Breast cancer is the leading cause of female cancer-related deaths worldwide and poor survival rates are associated with poorer breast awareness,” he noted in a university news release.

Breast size dissatisfaction may result in avoidance behaviors that reduce breast awareness, particularly if a woman’s breasts trigger feelings of anxiety, shame or embarrassment,” Swami explained.

Our study found a direct link between greater breast size dissatisfaction and poorer breast awareness, as seen through the lower frequency of breast self-examination and lower confidence in detecting changes in the breasts, and this requires urgent public health intervention,” Swami said.

The research, published online Feb. 5 in the journal Body Image, also found that breast size dissatisfaction is associated with poorer mental well-being including lower levels of self-esteem and happiness and that women unhappy with their breast size were more likely to be dissatisfied with their weight and overall appearance.

Women in Brazil, Japan, China, Egypt, and the United Kingdom were most likely to be unhappy with their breast size, according to the report.

Findings revealed that African women, particularly Nigerian and South African women, tend to be a mixed bag, some satisfied and others less satisfied with their breast sizes, and opting for augmentation procedures.

Meanwhile, from the study, women in India, Pakistan, Egypt, Lebanon, and the United Kingdom reported the largest ideal breast size, while women in Japan, the Philippines, Germany, Austria, and Malaysia reported the smallest ideal breast size.

We also found that despite historical differences across nations, breast size ideals are now similar across the 40 nations we surveyed. This suggests that the objectification of medium-to-large breasts is now a global phenomenon,” Swami said.

Another key finding is that breast size dissatisfaction decreases with age. It is possible that older women experience less pressure to attain breast size ideals or that motherhood and breastfeeding encourage women to focus on the functional purposes of breasts rather than seeing them purely in aesthetic terms,” Swami concluded.

EducationSSANU Commends VC For Promoting Staff, Returning Positions To Non-teaching Staff by Ogagist1(op): 11:39am On Feb 12, 2020
The Federal University of Technology (FUTO) branch of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) has commended the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francis Eze for keeping faith with progress of the senior staff of the institution through regular promotion of staff and returning positions held by teaching staff to non-teaching staff.

This was contained in an address read by the institution’s SSANU Chairman, Franklin Matthews during the Pre-NDC/NEC meeting of the association held in FUTO.

Matthews recalled that the vice-chancellor did not leave any stone unturned in ensuring that no SSANU member was affected in the recent disengagement of staff at the staff school, never wasted time in paying any allowance released by the federal government, and approval of training for staff within and outside the university.

He however reminded the institution’s authorities to settle some welfare to staff such as promotion of staff from CONTISS 11-12; CONTISS 13-14; implementation of directorate system; creation of more units in the bursary; and conversion of members who had obtained higher degrees while in service.

In his remarks, the National President of SSANU, Samson Ugwoke expressed dismay over the rising insecurity in the country, bad roads and lack of sensitivity on the part of the federal government, saying, “we are using this opportunity to draw the attention of the federal government to the state of bad roads in the country to reduce the level of road carnage in every part of the country.

In our last communiqué, we asked for the retirement of the security chiefs and introduce new and energetic men so that fresh ideas would be introduced in the system.

SSANU calls on the federal government to look into restructuring of the national security architecture. Nigeria is in a state of war. The president and the National Assembly should join hands to look into the security architecture of this country.

CrimeDissolve My Marriage Or I Kill My Wife - 55-year-old Nigerian Man Tells Court by Ogagist1(op): 8:09am On Feb 11, 2020
55-year-old Nigerian man, Chike Eze, has asked the Customary Court of Appeal in Lagos state to dissolve his marriage before he kills his wife.

In a petition he filed before the court, Eze said there is no more love between he and his wife Racheal, and he wants their marriage annulled as soon as possible.

Appearing before the court on Monday February 10th, Eze prayed the court to dissolve his marriage to Rachael as the dissolution will “save him from committing murder’’. According to him, she has not given him peace in the last two years

She is pushing me to the wall,” Eze told the court. “If I should retaliate, I will kill her. I don’t want to kill her, so that I will not be charged to court for murder. The best option is for the court to end our marriage so that we can go our separate ways. She always hits me with dangerous weapons which inflict wounds on me. Rachael fights and rains curses on me every day. She once deflated my car tyres and tore my clothes to pieces on several occasions.

The last time, she picked up a standing mirror and threw it at me. The mirror landed on me and caused severe injuries on my leg. I have several scars on my body as a result of her assault on me,’’ he told the court

He presented pictures of the injuries and scars to the court as evidences. He said that his wife went out on various occasions without his consent and whenever he queried her, she would say that she owned her body and could do anything with it.

In her defence, Rachael denied all the allegations and accused her husband of infidelity. The case was later adjourned to a later date for further hearing.

Fishermen in Samanaji town in Koko Besse Local Government Area have succeeded in trapping Hippopotamus believed to be wrecking havoc on Farmlands in the area.

The Aqua animal was killed by teams of fishermen who have been trailing it’s movements for sometime.

Reports from the area indicated that the Council’s Chairman Bello Sarkin Gabas and Council Members have visited the scene this morning.

Samanaji town is situated on the banks of River Niger thus, having constant encounters with aqua creatures occur rampantly which may have negative effects on their population.

However, with no fishing regulatory mechanism in place, killing of endengered species may continue unabated across riverine Communities and other areas with significant wild life population.

It is however worth of note that the Kebbi State Governor Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has been in the forefront of saving Wild Animals intruding into the State’s territories while on grazing adventure. Reports from Bagudo Local Government Area indicated that the Elephants quarantined in the area are still there under the watch of State and Local Government officials.

A newly-wed couple is trending on social media after they held their church wedding over the weekend and didn’t have a reception afterwards.

The couple, identified as Augustus and Vivian, tied the knot in St. Dennis Catholic Church in Bariga on Saturday, February 8.

After exchanging their vows in the church, the couple shared a souvenir to everyone after Mass and they cut their cake at the exit door of the church and everyone took a piece and went home.
The ceremony ended before 1pm.

A priest shared their photos on Facebook, writing:

Today’s wedding between Augustus and Vivian in St Denis Catholic Church Bariga was particularly different in a very cool and sweet way. The bride and groom were beautifully dressed. A friend of mine Edith Kush did the make up for the bride.

The wedding was done with the bride and the groom exchanging their vows to each other lovingly. That was the highpoint of the whole thing.

The food and souvenir were beautifully packaged together and were distributed to all that came just immediately after the mass. They had the cutting of the cake just at the exit door of the church. No reception. No hall. No Mc. No DJ. No event planner. No aseobi. No bridal train. Just the essential.

Before 1pm everyone was already on their way home and to their other businesses, including the couple. On Sunday they will come for thanksgiving after having consummated the marriage without stress.

Men of the Nigeria Police Force attached to the National Assembly Complex Abuja on Thursday arrested three fake journalists on the premises.

The suspects, identified simply as Balarabe Umar, Joseph Andor and Ibrahim Bello, were handed over to the Divisional Police Officer, National Assembly Division, Mr Abdullahi Sambo.

The alleged impersonators were discovered shortly after the appearance of the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, before the joint Senate and House of Representatives’ Committees on Petroleum.

The budget defence session was held at Room 028 of the New Wing of the House section of the building.

Shortly after Sylva spoke to newsmen, the suspects, posing as journalists, allegedly accosted the minister to demand for gratification.

When attempts were made to stop them, the suspects threatened to beat up journalists, forcing members of the NASS press corps to invite the sergeants-at-arms and the DPO, who arrested the suspects.

Sambo told our correspondent via a text message at 8.08pm on Thursday that he would call back to speak on the arrested journalists, but had yet to do so as of press time.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has promised to ensure that justice is done for the nine children and victims of kidnapping from the state.

Abba Anwar, the chief press secretary to the governor made this known in a statement in Kano on Tuesday.

Ganduje quoted the governor as saying that the suspected kidnappers already arrested and who were said to have allegedly participated in the heinous act, along with their accomplices would be prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to others.

Kidnapping is seriously abhorred and condemnable. What is more worrisome is the age of the victims, kids for that matter.

My administration, Kano people and any right-thinking individual or groups of individuals, condemn this from all standpoints,” he said.

He pointed out that protection of human rights, irrespective of age, ethnicity, religious or political affiliations, is a strong pillar and a vital responsibility of any government.

According to the governor, no criminal will go scot-free in this and similar developments in the state.

Government will invite the parents of those rescued from the suspected kidnappers for further discussion and relationship.

At the same time, we are seriously working with security agencies to unearth similar cases.

We are coming up with a powerful committee that will critically look at this disturbing scenario with a view to seeing to the root cause and to avert recurrence.

This and similar crimes must be stopped,” Ganduje assured.

Ganduje commended all the security agencies for the role they played in rescuing the kids while calling on members of the public to continue to cooperate with the security agencies, so as to expose such criminals in the state.

He, however, advised parents to be very vigilant on the movement of their children.
