Nairaland / General / This Is My Honest Opinion. by ogasaintprince1(m): 11:32pm On May 27, 2016
I am still surprised that none of our Nigerian big brands have signed this little talented girl on. We all know her Emmanuella aka "this is not my real face o". Her videos on social media gets over 30million views within a week, with almost all Nigerian and foreigners sharing and enjoying her comedy.
Trust me if she was a big girl with some ear and noise piercing and make up and make overs, our Nigerian big brands must have signed her on with millions of Naira or dollars.
I, Akparawa Princeubong Etukudoh JP challenge mtn, globacom, Etisalat, Airtel, Innoson motors, slots mobile, Samsung, Tecno Mobiles, Peak Milk, Luna Milk, Milo and other known companies to do the right thing. The little girl is star enough to be a big brand ambassador.
If you stand with me, share this.

Politics / Re: Buhari’s One Year Anniversary In Office: Are Nigerians Happy? by ogasaintprince1(m): 9:34am On May 20, 2016
DIKEnaWAR:
Oga, it is not May 29th yet na.

Nigerians were disappointed but knowing how mumu and forgetful we are as a people, they decided to dish out one of the Chibok girl's rescue to the public. Now we have something to talk about and be happy with 'sai baba'.

Buhari's speech will read thus: "our gallant troops have recorded a great victory against the Boko haram, which result we are already seeing with the return of one of the Chibok girls. We promise that they shall all be returned to their parents, in line with our campaign promise".

Apologies for the error in date...

Yesterday marked exactly one year that President Muhammadu Buhari APC led government mounted the throne as Nigeria’s president after defeating former president Jonathan and the PDP in what was a historical election.

With all the campaign promises , What is your assessment on Buhari’s government so far? Did you get the “change” you expected?

Will you also vote the APC for a second term in office in 2019?

Politics / The Movie And Show Of Shame Continues. by ogasaintprince1(m): 12:13am On May 20, 2016
You are a boko haram Commander. You kidnap someone and get your captive pregnant.

You are caught with your captive. You are not arrested.

Your captive who was said to be writing senior secondary school exams (WAEC) at the time of kidnap, does not know a word in English. She does also seem to know her name.

The Principal of the school she was writing WAEC does not know her name too. The Army does not know her name. Even the youth leader of the youth of Chibok does not know the girl's name. They are all giving conflicting names.

Nobody bothers to go to WAEC and check her name and passport photograph (or did she write the exams without registration?)

It is now more than 24 hours and nobody has claimed to be her parents. Can you lose your child for more than a year and hear she has been found, and you don't rush to meet the girl?

Meanwhile, the military has found a boko haram Commander who kidnapped an innocent child, but instead of arresting him, a reception is being organised for him.

As I write, another girl has been found according to reports and a ceremony is being planned in which the boko haram Commander, and her captive, is been received by Buhari in Aso Rock!

This movie is epic!

Nairaland / General / The Tomato Seller Forgot To Ask For My Party Membership Card' by ogasaintprince1(m): 7:37am On May 19, 2016
LADY: Bawo ni? Se e wa pa? How your side sir?

ME: O tight o. Things are just too tough. No money, no jobs to execute, things are so expensive and we must eat. I bought eight pieces of tomatoes for N600. I have received three financial help requests this morning and even I too don't even have.

LADY: E relax. Buhari will soon make everybody happy. I can assure you that. By the time he finishes what he is doing now, you will see.

ME: But is the president a magician? Besides, I cannot see any move towards improving the economy. If to say I can see one, then I will know it is a matter of time.

LADY: A ti mo. (We know) You are a PDP member. I know. You guys will not stop complaining. You will never see the good work going on.

This conversation took place on Wednesday around 1pm between myself and a lady friend who called to ask how I was doing. I had to hold on a bit to ask myself two questions:
1. Are we actually living in the same country with the defenders of the president?

2. Are some of us just being plainly unpatriotic that we could not see the wonders going on in the name of governance?
Then our conversation continued:
ME: What again did you say you are into?

LADY: I am into clothings. I sell cloths and assorted clothing materials.

ME: You must be doing well then.

LADY: For where? I have not sold a single cloth in since when! As I am talking sir, I have not eaten today since I have not sold anything for some time. And this is 1pm. I don't even mind if they buy them on credit but no one is even asking to buy on credit. Business has never been this bad. In fact, do I send my account number sir so that...

By the time she was saying that, I had cut the phone. Reason: I was shocked how she could have quickly become a PDP member so fast! From defending to joining the wailing club. I have been conscious of economic situations since the late 70s. But I have NEVER seen it this bad. Even when the naira was first devalued in 1986, inflation was not like this. Everywhere you go, people are groaning in pains. No jobs. No contracts. Bills piling up. School fees remain unpaid. Government seems helpless. Yet defenders keep singing victory song on empty stomach!
And the day I bought eight tomatoes for N600, the aboki forgot to ask for my party membership card. Perhaps, he would have sold it for N200 if I presented the 'right' party card. Meaning: from wailers to hailers, we are all suffering together. At times, I wonder if it is sheer emotions or 'conc' hypnotism! It is simply crazy the way some of my compatriots keep smiling inside this excruciating economic pain!
It beats me hollow...

Politics / Memo To My President, The Thief Catcher... by ogasaintprince1(m): 6:59am On May 19, 2016
A top most Newspaper Editor-sitting on a befitting chair in the office of a National Newspaper in Lagos, Mr. Samuel Ajayi wrote this breakfast-open Memo to our dear President, Muhamadu Buhari.

MEMO TO MY PRESIDENT, THE THIEF CATCHER...
My dear Mr. President,
Rankadede sir.

There is always this sense of excitement from your supporters whenever they hear that someone (always from the opposition) has been invited by EFCC. They go overdrive whenever figures are mentioned.

Let me make it clear: I am 100% in support of you if you go after those who were awarded contracts and collected money without working. I will be your anti-corruption ambassador if you go after service chiefs who diverted money meant for their services. I support you if you go after banks who aided money laundering. I am your man if you go after those itchy fingers at FIRS. Or those who collected defence contracts and subsidy claims and ran away. BUT YOU CAN NEVER BE MY GUY WITH THIS YOUR PROBING OF CAMPAIGN FUNDS. You know why? You are GUILTIER than those you are pursuing!

It is not only immoral, but against law of natural fairness for you who publicly announced that you borrowed money to buy your nomination form, but ran a campaign of hundred of billions of naira. Where did your money come from? Lets tell you certain things which you pretend not to know about.

* When Akin Ambode resumed as governor of Lagos State, the total money he reportedly met in ALL Lagos State bank accounts was a paltry N850m! It was the lowest in recent memory. Not that alone. Capital budget for the fiscal year had been executed up to 85%! Yet, that was just FIVE months to the year. We only saw capital spending without capital projects. If they present these facts before you, you cannot deny you don't know where these monies went to.

*Rivers State has been complaining over almost N100b missing few months to the end of one of your minister's tenure as governor. Invite Wike over and you will hear ween!

* Each state being ruled by your party was taxed to contribute to your campaign. Depending on the strength of their treasuries. But they tried to outdo themselves. Sir, can you swear by Allah that you don't know why many states could not pay salaries today? Ask your campaign treasurer! And also banks they took overdrafts from!

* One of your ministers today, who is seen as agents of change, actually took N1b bank loan to prosecute a second term election he lost in 2014. If you are keen at probing campaign funds, sit him down and ask how he intends to pay back. As I write this, the loan is still pending!

* There are couple of banks and oil service companies who contributed to your campaign funding too. Your EFCC has pretended as if it is not aware.

Politicians know themselves. They know how they fund campaigns. It is public funds. Contracts are inflated or outrightly not carried out. Funds are diverted. Banks play their own role. Contractors key in. On the eve of election, banks overwork themselves. From minister/commissioner down to special assistants, cash is provided for them to go and prosecute elections in their areas. These runs into billions. Is that acceptable? NO! BUT THAT WAS HOW YOUR OWN ELECTION WAS PROSECUTED TOO.

I learnt you turned the blind eye when all these were going on. You jettisoned your long held personal principle not to have anything to do with thieves. After winning election and assuming office, you wanted to pick that principle again and expect someone like me to hail you? No sir! Lailai!

Since you saw nothing wrong in people stealing to run your own campaign, you have no moral justification to go after those who equally stole to run their own campaigns too. Public funds are public funds, either in Abuja or Lagos!

Assurances of my highest regards! Say me well to the First Lady.
