PENGASSAN should refrain from causing Dangote to regret constructing this refinery in Nigeria. When you guys always say PENGASSAN should build her own refinery I just wonder the level of ignorant people like you are. Is PENGASSAN not a combination of all the oil companies in Nigeria. NNPC, Shell, Chevron, Mobil, Total, NLNG etc. the staffs of all those companies made up PENGASSAN. Then which one is that they should build their own refinery.

How you guys reason is beyond comprehension. How did PENGASSAN grounded and made the refinery not functioning. Are they federal government? Are they they once providing funds for the rehabilitation of the refinery.

So that means they should allow Dangote to treat Nigeria workers the way he wants because he built the refinery as a private owner. Whether private or government they must be guided by the law of the land regarding engaging and disengaging workers. Apart from what Dangote is doing many workers are suffering in the hands of many employers without protection. Many a time people will work and employers will find reason not to pay you and to sack you. Some employers have become so notorious about such a behaviour. They were a time that my brother worked for a lady. Time to pay him she told him if she gave him employment letter.
You can easily take sides in this matter but since you are not working in that refinery you will be standing with Dangote but those who are working and suffering there will say otherwise.
Someone said did they force them to work. Sometimes I wonder how people reason.

Those in multinational across globe are all in labour unions, then one local champion is making noise up and down against union. Those workers must be allowed to join a union.

This Dangote vs pengassan has exposed how people think. Without labour unions workers would suffer in the hands of employers. Like some side if Dangote don't want them to join unions since you are employing Nigeria workers, he should employ his children, ground children and family members so that he can unionised them himself.

And on the sides, this issue is not about Workers, it's the Oil Cabal vs Dangote war continuation.

Good you can't deny that their is Union everywhere. But you brought China up. China is a Communist country and not a democratic system. They are not different from country that practice military system. The difference is that they are excelling in what they do and they are advancing every day. If we most draw a comparison we should compare with places that democracy is working otherwise you may also look at what is been done in North Korea as an example of what should be done here.

Understand truth today. We are very happy for Dangote refinery. But never forget that Dangote is a business man. He did not build his refinery because he loves Nigeria and Nigerians. He did it because he is a business man and for profit.
Dangote has been giving too much freedom in different sector of our economy and production sectors and that has crippled several businesses because the rules were bent for him and he was given freedom. He got all the support. From cement, to salt to sugar etc. He was never challenged. It's like when you over pamper a child then he thinks that he has monopoly for all things.
Nobody will allow him to have that free hands in the oil and gas that shell, Chevron, mobile etc have been operating over the years. He must play by the rules governing the sector.
Pengassan does not have business in creating or building refinery. PENGASSAN is not a company it's own by all the oil and gas companies in Nigeria.

The government need to make creation of More refinery and jobs feasible... That is when labor will have bargaining power. Eg. If Dangote refinery is not treating you well you go to Laporte Refinery... Your skill and experience become an asset.
