If am to comment i will say this is a great and welcome idea. But in my opinion i feel such shld come later jan or fri/sat of feb valentine time. 2nd of jan might not afford some people due to festive period and most people spend such with families usually in their home towns and wont b back until prob when work resumes for them or school as the case may b.
