The Adumu community in Iyale Ward is currently witnessing the drilling of a borehole as part of the Rt. Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna IJN Constituency Water Project.

This initiative is aimed at providing clean and accessible water to the residents, addressing their long-standing water challenges in the area. The project reflects Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna commitment to improving the quality of life for his constituents, ensuring that essential infrastructures are available to all.

Fellow indigenes of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, I greet you with respect and solidarity. As one of you, I have had the privilege of calling Abuja my home for over 24 years. I share in your joys and concerns, and I am deeply committed to our territory’s well-being.

I understand that the recent appointment of Chief Edward David Onoja as the Commissioner for Public Complaints in FCT Abuja has sparked concerns among our community.
However, I must express my strong support for the newly appointed Commissioner. I believe in his integrity, expertise, and commitment to serving FCT Abuja. I am confident that he will work tirelessly to address our concerns and promote our welfare.

Notably, Chief Onoja has a deep understanding of FCT Abuja, having been a resident of Abuja for over 30 years. He also has a strong educational foundation, having attended Federal Government College, Kwali. This exposure has equipped him with the knowledge and empathy to effectively address the unique challenges we face in Abuja.

It's important to note that the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria does not restrict appointments to indigenes only. The Public Complaints Commission Act also does not stipulate that the Commissioner must be an indigene of FCT Abuja.

Let us rally behind Commissioner Chief Edward David Onoja and give him the support he needs to succeed. Together, we can achieve great things for Abuja.

The Kogi State Commissioner for Health Dr . Zakari Usman has directed hospitals and other healthcare providers in the state to give prompt attention to Gunshot victims in line with the need to save human lives.

Doctor Zakari Usman who stated this while speaking with newsman in Lokoja noted that the directive is inline with the position of the Inspector General of police to deviate from the norms of the past when police report was required before victims of Gunshots could be treated at hospitals.

The Kogi State Commissioner of Health told hospitals and other healthcare providers in the state to see victims of gunshots as people who need immediate medical attention to safe lives. He reiterated that not all gunshot victims are criminals, and even criminals have rights to medical care.

He explained that the Kogi State Government is committed to ensuring constant upgrading of medical facilities in the state to meet global standards towards providing seamless and proper medical attention to the people of the state.

According to him, the practice of making it compulsory for the presentation of medical reports before the treatment of gunshot victims will no longer be tolerated as many preventable deaths have occurred where hospitals insisted on such police reports.

He assured medical personnel and other good Nigerians who provide assistance to such victims of gunshot wounds not to be scared any longer inview of the assurances given by the inspector general of police as seen in his signed directive.

Ecstasy of Growing up in Iyale.
No ward in kogi State is comparable with the Iyale ward in unity of purpose, sincerity of actions, leadership qualities, Solidarity and patriotism. You may differ in your observations but this is what I grow up to know about my village of birth.
In the past few days, we witnessed how the Onuh Iyale ( Provincial chief) has been moving from church to church, mosque to mosque, seeking for peaceful coexistence, praying for the sons and daughters of Iyale thereby strengthening on the existing bonds of confraternity among the people.
It has become a norm every year to bring people together through football competition between old timers and the current Ajeko team where one would see Elites of class of commissioners, professors, S.A, Director/ CEO of businesses coming together to play without regards to social stratification. That's is what we called IYALE EFFECTS.
Without doubt, Iyale is forever unique in her affairs of living together as one undivided entity.

Earlier today I visited the the General Hospital Iyale with a technical team of assessors on the approval of his Excellency the Executive Governor of Kogi state H.E Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.

Recall that we have succeeded in getting this project into the state budget in the previous years without much success until recently. Following concerted efforts and a recent letter of passionate appeal to his Excellency by our brother Anthony Edegbo while at home for his Uncle's burial on the Hospital which his Excellency forwarded to me for input which of course I corroborated intimating him that it was the same facility in Iyale that we had sent memos.

I equally sought permission from him to generate a memo for the total rehabilitation which he obliged.

To this end a technical team joined me to Iyale earlier with HRH the Onu Iyale, The Community Leader, Ōgwu ITT, Onuche Agagwu and a few others.

Let's keep praying that after so many years of Igalas at the helm of affairs, succour comes finally through the current governor who has done same in Idah and of course PAAUTH.

Kogi State Honorable Commissioner for Health, Hon Dr Zakari Alhaji Usman received over 200 PDP decampees in his ward yesterday.
The Commissioner led other stakeholders from Dekina LGA receive hundreds of decamped members from the PDP to the APC.

Leaders of the PDP members Hon Dr Samuel Agagwu said that they decided to dump the PDP in order to support the efforts of Honorable Commissioner for Health and Hon Paul Gowon Haruna (IJN) as their son who has executed many developmental projects.

72 HOURS AFTER LAUNCH OF BELLO CARE BENEFICIARY DELIVERS BOUNCING BABY BOY VIA OPERATION FREE OF CHARGE.
Barely seventy two hours after the launch/Flag-off of the Bello Care free health Insurance programne, a beneficiary, Mrs Florence Comfort Ige who delivered a bouncing Baby boy through Caesarean Section has accessed free delivery health services at the Kogi State Specialist Hospital Lokoja which is one of the accredited Health facility of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency in the state capital.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr Usman Zakari, who visited the beneficiary in company of the Executive Secretary of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Aledare Adekunle at the Kogi State Specialist Hospital said the target group are already benefiting significantly from the Bello Care programme.
Dr. Usman noted that the joy of every mother is safe motherhood and Governor Bello's free health care initiative has made the joy of the mother full and relieves the family of the extra-ordinary hardship associated with huge medical bills of caeserean section, provided her financial risk protection and she can now use the money saved from her health cost for other family needs.
The Health Commissioner said the Bello Care free health Insurance programne will reduce maternal mortality and morbidity amongst the vulnerable persons in the state.
Dr. Zakari thanked Governor Bello for the initiative which is the first of its kind in Kogi State.
In his remarks at the Kogi State Specialist Hospital, the Executive Secretary of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, Dr Aledare Adekunle said he was excited that Bello Care is already saving lives through access to quality maternal health care services
Dr Aledare said Mrs Ige who is currently accessing the free health care services will also benefit from post natal care for six weeks while the Baby will also be enrolled automatically into the Bello Care programme.
Dr Aledare further declared that the gains of Bello Care will form the basis for expansion of the programme.
Thanking God for safe delivery, the beneficiary of the programne, Mrs Florence Comfort Ige thanked Governor Bello for initiating the Programme which has relieved her of the financial burden of operation. She also thanked the commissioner of Health, Dr. Zakari Usman and the Executive Secretary of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, Dr Aledare Adekunle for their prompt visit and attention during her delivery.
Mrs Ige thanked Governor Bello for initiating the free health care services for the vulnerables who can not access quality health care due to the huge financial burden associated with health care. She prayed God to give Governor Bello long life and prosperity.

The Kogi State Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Zakari Usman has held the first important meeting with heads of institutions, agencies and parastatals at the conference hall of the Ministry today being, 16th August, 2022 after his successful resumption in office.

The agenda of this meeting between the Honourable Commissioner for health and the Heads of The Prestigious health institutions, parastatals and agencies in the state is to build synergy between them and the Ministry to appreciate and to drive the vision of the Ministry of health towards repositioning the health sector and to respond appropriately to the healthcare needs of the people of kogi as well as the training of the healthcare professionals and the research units.

The vibrant, well known and result oriented Commissioner while addressing the Heads of the outlined agencies and parastatals above, stated that: "Our challenges are generic and our goal is one; which is to strengthen the health systems for the provision of effective, affordable, accessible and quality healthcare services to kogites and the residents alike".

The Commissioner for Health also stated that the incumbent and detribalized Governor of Kogi state; H.E, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is a health friendly governor with the political-will and readiness to give all the necessary supports and cooperations to the Ministry for the improvement of the health systems in the state. The governor has done alots towards repositioning and reawakening of the health sectors in the state and he will still do more, the commissioner added.

Kogi State Honourable Commissioner of Health and National President St. Charles College Ankpa Old Students Association Hon Dr Zakari Alhaji Usman is saddened by the untimely death of Prof Muhammed Seidu Onailo Oga, BOT of SCCAOSA.

Kogi State has been robbed of a leader and father who was an inspiration to many. His ambition was to have a united, conducive and ethical society that plays its critical role in the development of the country, dealing with both old and young from all corners of Nigeria, regardless of ethnicity, religion or creed.

The good people of Kogi State and members of St. Charles College Ankpa Old Students Association join his family in mourning one of the country’s outstanding and dependable patriots.

Why Paul Gowon Haruna Deserves Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency in 2023

In our democracy, because of how deep poverty has eaten into the society, legislators tend to delve into developments of their constituents and constituencies. As a result, a man to represent Dekina/Bassa must be one who doesn’t need the money meant for his constituents to survive. This makes IJN the most qualified amongst all those who are aspiring to represent the people of Dekina/Bassa federal constituency. Rather than divert money meant for constituents to enrich self, IJN will secure jobs for many who are in need. He secured jobs for many who are lecturing in KSU today, started small businesses for hundreds of market women, took many youths out of poverty when he was a member of Kogi state House of Assembly.

As the House Committee Chairman on MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS, he influenced the building of classroom blocks to his Dekina/Biraidu constituency and even beyond his immediate constituency to Okura. He graded feeder roads across Dekina/Bassa using his private equipment and machines and helped many people to education.

More than this, he is outspoken and communicates better than any of his opponents because he was a preacher and remains one.

The self-acclaimed voice will be crowded out because activism is nothing compared to the experience IJN garnered over the years in business, politics and human relations.

Dekina/Bassa voters, this is not a time to make the mistake of electing people who are counting on political office to build a house or own a car.

*SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT*

*The amiable and law abiding Honourable Councillor representing Iyale Ward, Hon. Achile Salihu has taken a swipe at the negative minded politicians of the PDP who take comforts and pleasures in namecallings and fault findings without recourse to standing on the path of truth and justice which we the members of the All Progressives Congress are always known for.*

*He maintained that; ascribing the destructive tendencies of the PDP' members who were said to be holding a purported meeting against the members of the All Progressives Congress at Ologba on Saturday, 2nd July, 2022 was not only sacrilegious but the highest acts of injustice and prejudice carried out against the APC and her members.*

*We were on political tour to receive our detribalized Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello who was supposed to carry out some general inspections of projects in kogi East on Saturday 2nd july, 2022 but could not make it until Sunday 3rd July, 2022.*

*The Councillor onbehalf of the party members of Iyale Area has stated as follows;*

*"The Honourable Councillor after careful investigations of what happened during his absence at Ologba has Divulged as follows: As the Governor of Kogi state; Alhaji Yahaya Bello did not come for the scheduled tour meant for the inspections of projects in Kogi East; some members of the All Progressives Congress who got tired were returning home after waiting for long to receive the Governor in Anyigba who was unable to come due to change of the scheduled working visit which didn't go with their initial workplans."*

*It was when these APC's members got to Ologba that; they discovered that their party or candidate's billboard was removed from where it was positioned and thereafter replaced it with the billboard of the PDP. It was in the process of stopping their cars to find out what happened to their billboard, having discovered the removal of their billboard not knowing that the PDP's members were holding the purported meeting around the same place that our members started seeing stones which were thrown at them deliberately and all the APC members who never intended troubles started running away to avoid been hurt. It was at this point that the PDP members resorted to burning of the two vehicles belonging to the members of the APC which brought them there from Anyigba.*

*These vehicles were owned by the APC members; One of the vehicles belonged to the Iyale ward APC's treasurer while the second one was hired by also the members of the APC of Iyale ward.*

*These violent PDP's members didn't stop there but also went to the checkpoint and brought out a bike and got it burnt it also.*

*We have earlier reported all the destructions and attacks levelled against us to the Dekina Police Division at Dekina town but some of the Iyale area traditional rulers in the likes of Onuh Iyale, HRH Chief Drisu Wada Akogwu, the Ogohi Ologba, other stakeholders including those of the PDP and the APC have waded into the matter for amicable settlement at the palace of the Onuh of Iyale today.*

*The PDP's Chairman in Dekina LGA, Hon. Ejine would be there as well during the settlement.*

*The Party Chairman of the PDP was even begging us as the APC members at the station to calm down and that their are willing to replaced all that were destroyed by their members at Ologba.*

*As The APC's Honourable Councillor representing Iyale Ward, I was not there while the whole things lasted but many have taken to unverified lies from the pit of hell just to tarnish the good and hard earned images and reputations of Hon. Achile Salihu and The APC Iyale ward's party Chairman, Hon. Shagari Ojiji.*

*The APC's members in Iyale Area have discovered that the PDP's House of representatives candidate, Austin Okai is responsible as the champion of all lies and fake news peddled since the incident. He has beaten his chest to continue to be the sole trading or monger of fake news and lies against APC. He has promised that he would still cause more harms to the reputations of the APC and all her candidates before the 2023 General elections.*

*Let it be known by the general public that we the Leaders and members of the APC are peace loving and law abiding people and we shall follow all the due process to get all the things burnt by the violent members of the PDP in Ologba. We would not rest until justice is done.*
