Malawi’s president Lazarus Chakwera defends bringing family to London summit
The President of Malawi Lazarus Chakwera has denied that bringing his wife, daughter and son-in-law with him as part of his 10-person delegation to a virtual international summit being hosted in the UK is nepotism.
Each member of the delegation has a specific function and provide services that justifies their presence at the summit, Mr Chakwera told BBC Hardtalk's Sarah Montague.
The president, a preacher turned politician, won power promising to "clear the rubble" of corruption in 2020
We never had it this bad since Buhari's first time as a president in 83. Anybody that tells you otherwise is lying.
I honestly laugh at you chief, no offense. Because you're an adult and educated yet you've been made to believe that the problem is PDP as a party and not the members that are a Majority in a APC today.
Let me quote ex Governor Chime of Enugu state Clearing 16 years of PDP nonsense not easy for APC — Chime
The ex governor made this statement after joining APC and you people agreed and cheered him, forgetting that he was a two term governor in PDP.
Jonathan wasn't voted out because of lack of infrastructure or unbearable cost of living. It was mostly because of insecurity and corruption, which are worse today. Cost of living is worse today.
Be honest with yourself, have we had it this bad since you became an adult?
I don't give a rat ass about PDP or APC because they're one as far as I am concerned but anybody who thinks this present administration is better than the past government is mad.
You made some valid points in your post, unfortunately, the anger you feel for the political class has clouded your judgement. My post is not to paint APC as a better party but to highlight reasons why the state of the nation is this bad. Nigeria as a nation is unfortunate to have been under military regime for so long but notably from 1983 to 1999. My point is PDP as a party (you can choose to blame the presidents one after the other) missed a great opportunity to start steering the country in the right direction but they took it as a competition of who can embezzle the most. A stage 4 cancer definitely needs more time and is a lot more difficult to treat. Have you ever taken a moment to think of why 'you are having it this bad'? That's is my whole point and for missing a great opportunity as that, they don't deserve to ever smell the corridor of power in Nigeria again. I am not contesting the fact that some of them are crossing to APC, neither did I mention that APC is a better party. My point was on Buhari's performance, it is unfair, totally unfair to hold Buhari alone responsible for the mess we are in this nation today. Go back to my post, I also criticized him on security.
Kondomatic: [i] The African Development Bank (AfDB) says the $430 million highway project linking Enugu to Bamenda in Cameroon will be completed this year.
The bank, in a statement issued on Monday, said that it was part of its investments in West Africa which currently stood at 16 billion dollars.
The statement quoted the President of AfDB, Akinwunmi Adesina, as disclosing this in a speech at the 59th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government in Ghana. According to Mr Adesina, the $430 million highway project will transform trade opportunities between the two countries.
He also disclosed that the bank was working assiduously with the ECOWAS Commission to finalise feasibility studies for the Abidjan-Lagos corridor by the end of 2021.
He is not perfect, got his flaws, but one of the best we had in last 2 decades.
If Nigeria moved at this pace in last 2 decades, it can never be this worst.
PDP 16 years was shambles and a draw back to this great Nation. A party that could not even complete its own National secretariat
God bless President Mohammadu Buhari (GCFR)
I honestly laugh at Nigerian youths when they suggest PDP taking over the affairs of this country. Nigerians are so forgetful! Just like you said, if only PDP wasn't so wasteful throughout their 16 years of ruling this country, Nigeria wouldn't be where it is today. Go check on my previous posts, I am neither Hausa nor a politician. I am just somebody trying to tell you the truth. My issues with Buhari are simply his Nepotism and lack of respect for rule of law. He has done a good job in terms of infrastructure development and the economy. Before you point to high cost of goods, pls understand that price of items are driven by foreign exchange rate since we are an import dependent nation. Striking a balance of payment i.e. export vs imports to stabilize exchange rate takes at least 10 to 15 years considering the fact that we will be starting from ground zero. It is not a day's job to industrialize a nation. If only PDP made efforts to industrialize the nation throughout their 16 years, the impact on the economy wouldn't be this bad. Oil remains our only source of foreign exchange. Unfortunately, we sell that oil as crude and still buy back with same foreign exchange with already high demand for finished products, raw materials, school fees, bureau de change, debts servicing, etc.
Contrary to the victim's card the Nigerian Government has been playing in the past few weeks, i.e. urging Nigerians to stop disparaging or "bad mouthing' the country, Human Rights Lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) has called on the Muhammadu Buhari led administration to stop embarrassing Nigeria. He said this when making comments on the extra-ordinary rendition and raid of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and Chief Sunday Igboho respectively.
I have never seen a stubborn government like the present one under Buhari.

Olaolufred: Uncle, you are not talking to babies here.
The hardest part of the journey is to get out of Nigeria if he was seeking asylum (forging Nigerian passport in this case).
He doesn't need to forge Nigerian passport with another identity because he can sneak through many local pathways from Ogun State to Benin Republic.
If he is in Benin, Asylum seeker will willfully hand over itself to police and his statement will state his challenges that occasioned his purpose for illegal entry.
An Asylum seeker does not need forging documents of the country he sneaked to if he has a clean mind seeking asylum.
Forgery and counterfeiting is mischievous and criminal (Felony).
That has even made asylum seeking harder.
Your comments are laughable and only a child that sleeps behind his parents can make such comments.
Monogamy: Granted asylum in the same country he is being charged for using fraudulent documents to obtain Benin passport?
Of course yes! First question is why did he use a fake documents? The answer is he was running for dear life which is a fundamental human right and assylum laws recognize this. It doesn't matter even if he used another person's passport while running for his life. Check similar cases on YouTube
