AKASBABA1:
Generally, work experience refers to paid employment, and volunteering may not always meet the criteria. However, if the requirement is related to providing details in gaps of studies and work for Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) purposes then volunteering could be considered as a gap. We enrolled a student who was fresh from university without prior work experience last year, she studied biochemistry in Nigeria and she's currently studying Public Health . It would be best to clarify the specific requirement with
the school or seek advice from your agent accordingly.

Ok. Thank you

Hello

I’ve volunteered across various hospitals and health centers for Public health. Now I’d like to do an MSc in Public health in Australia. I’ve found a school but one of the requirements is that I should have work experience from a healthcare setting for at least one year.

Do I qualify for this? Being a volunteer? I do go 2-3 times a week. My agent says it will fly. I don’t know.

Please respond.
Thanks

Now, the best/surest route for an African anywhere between 25 - 32 is via graduate studies. *Either the person comes in via graduate studies or as a research student*. I already outlined both processes in previous pages. Please go through them.
Hello

I’m confused. What’s the difference between a graduate student and a research student? Kindly explain please. Thanks.

yes you can stop schooling if your visa changes.
My advise, make sure the visa is approved before withdrawing your student cos applying for work sponsorship does not guarantee it will be approved. I have seen employer sponsored visa rejected and the person could not go back to school because they cancelled their studies
Ok. Thank you

Hello

I have a question. I recently came across a video. In it, something was said about health care visa sponsorship. It said you could leave/pause your studies if you got the health assistant, diasability support worker visa sponsorship. This is for people in Australia.

Is this possible? Wouldn’t one have issues with the school and migration if you got the visa sponsorship?
@tunlex could you please confirm this for me? Thank you

I will recommend exploring the permanent residency route if you have work experience in zoology because zoologist is on Australia’s skilled occupation list.
I don’t have.

Hello. I have some questions, please.

1. I have a BSc in Zoology, how easy can I switch to nursing if I came to do MSc in Biology? And would it be BSc Nursing?

2. Is it best to go in with MSc and then switch or should I go for the BSc Nursing straight up?

The agent I’m using is vague in his answers so I’d like to be well informed before making any commitments.

Thank you.

Are you already working with an agent? I think an agent will be in a better position to advice you. I would have suggested you go for Public Health but then Public Health doesn't even lead to PR
Ok. Many thanks

Good evening,

I’ve been reading from the beginning and I’m so confused still. I studied A.E.B (Zoology). Could you suggest a course I can do for M.Sc that can help in my PR pursuit? I’m married with kids too. How feasible is this? On the other thread, it seems tougher these days to get a nomination. So I’m looking for another alternative.

Kindly assist please. Many thanks
Please someone should help me with this?

The possibility of a positive assessment is 50-50 since you have up to 2 years experience and your qualification is unrelated.
You may be better of waiting till you have 3 years experience and all will be deducted but no one knows how many years exactly will be deducted.
You have a decision to make
Ok. Thanks. This state requirement (work experience) will it remain like this? Or is it subject to change?

Hello. Please I need to be sure I understand something.

The occupation I intend to nominate is in Group C. One of the criteria, which I think relates to me is thus: “
Qualification(s) assessed at least AQF Diploma level without a highly relevant field and at least two years of post-qualification highly
relevant employment at an appropriate skill level in the last five years;

Now my qualification is nowhere near(without a highly relevant field) my intended nominated occupation (INO). But I have a little experience. If I were to do the assessment would it be a positive one?

To be precise, my qualification is in biology and my INO is something in Agric.

Thank you.

I have a B.Sc(4 year course) from a non-tier 1 university and I'm thinking of going for one of the occupation whose minimum qualification is a certificate IV. Is this possible, given that my B.Sc is higher? Will I get a positive assessment qualification-wise?

Thank you.

You can only assess for level 2 occupations as long as it’s Vetassess
Ok. Thank you. I intend to assess as a life science technician. There are specialisations one being Zoology technician. This is ok, right? My question is what if i do the assessment now and then the new list comes out(1st of July right?) and my nominated occupation isn't there anymore? Especially since it's state nomination and most statesare closed. I feel like I should wait for the new list before i go ahead with the assessment. What do you think?

Kindly advice me please. Many thanks.

5 year courses would fly for any occupational level.
4 year courses won’t fly for a level 1 occupation it’s not awarded by Unilag, OAU, Futa and UI.
Although this does not apply to all assessing bodies. ACS and Vetassess judiciously make use of the AQF.
Level 1 occupations require AQF Bachelor’s degree, that is, Australian equivalent Bachelor’s degree
Ok. So what do I do now? I did look up another occupation. The closest is poultry farmer and Vetassess is still the assessing body.
I'm confused. On the other thread, someone stated that 5 year courses from any Uni could fly and 4 year courses from any federal uni and a few states. So mine can't even go at all even if it's their diploma it's equated to? Besides Zoology usually is a 4 year course. Please help me clarify.

Zoologist is a level 1 occupation and a degree from Uniport cannot assess for that occupation except your degree was a 5 year course.

Teaching is not relevant to your occupation.
The chance of getting a positive outcome from Vetassess is very slim.
Check the occupation list to see if there is any occupation you can nominate cos teaching is only for BEd holders only
Ok. Thank you. But do you know someone who assessed as a Zoologist? Please I'd like to get in touch with the person. I've read through this thread and the other one and I haven't seen any.

Hello everyone

I studied Animal and Envionmental Biology (Zoology) from UNIPORT. I have one year paid work experience (teaching biology). I have other paid work experiences though but they aren't relevant to my nominated occupation. What are my chances of being positively assessed by Vetassess?

Thank you as I await your response.
