In this report, I will be introducing you to an infographic report released by Kaymu, one of the leading online classified product listing portal in Nigeria. The report titled ‘Top Selling Smartphones’ which spans across first half of 2015 revealed that a fast selling Infinix mobile occupies the first and second position with BlackBerry holding third position while Infinix mobile grabbed the forth position. https://browsingphone.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Top-10-Best-Android-Phones-In-Nigeria-Cheap-Mobile-Price-683x1024.jpg The only non-android smartphone here is BlackBerry which we believe is common among female folks. Nigeria is still a loyal market for BlackBerry device but Android phones hold the largest share. Source: http://browsingphone.com/top-10-best-android-phones-in-nigeria-jumia-konga-price-specs/ |

https://nigeriawebsiteclinic.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Get-Your-Website-First-Page-Of-Google-Nigeria.jpg If you know what it means for your business website to be on Google front page, I bet you this article will be bookmarked, read over and over again until you are sure all the strategies outlines here are implemented on your product blog and are already seeing same result. In the midst of billions of websites listed on Google Search engine including the big brands that spends millions of Naira to remain on top of google page, how do you sneak your small business website to the top without spending a dime on advert? To answer this website traffic related problem, I will be sharing the strategies I used to push a financial and technology consulting firm’s website to first page on all buyers’ keyword. Focus on high searched and less competitive long-tail keywords on your website post titles: Don’t expect your business website to rank high on single keywords like mobile phones, weight loss products, software, wears, airline ticket, etc. You need to do a through search on keywords that are frequently searched but have little or no competitor dominating google with it. The reason I love long tail keywords is that they are audience specific, exact and solution driven. If I pick softwares as a niche for my business, long tail kewords for softwares may be: accounting softwares for smes in nigeria, quickbooks software for sme in nigeria, etc. When you extend your product or service keywords to be more specific to a defined market and include them on your website contents, Google ranks your blog higher. Link Building From Related Websites: I can’t stress this particular strategy enough. It’s so powerful that it has helped me dominate Google front page for certain long-tail keywords. Link building is like when a graduate attends a job interview and his potential employer takes a look at his CV and focuses more on who his referees are. The most respect is accorded to his referees occupation and status the more likely such weight will be placed on his CV which may command consideration from his employee. This is how Google looks at the number of higher ranking websites that links to your business website. When you have high-traffic websites that are linked to yours and a referring visitors to your page, Google Bot detects such links and traffic which eventually pushes your website higher online. To do this, drop your comments on websites related to your niche, share ideas on internet forums like Nairaland and drop a link to your blog page. Image SEO – When you post just articles on your page with including descriptive images, aside from the fact that your page will look boring and unattractive, you will be missing out on Google Image traffic. There are lots of web searchers who focus on pictures that describe what they want before clicking through to view more which implies that if you have images on your blog post with same description as your website long tail keywords, I can confidently say that you have a unique edge that could make you compete with establish brands. There is a post on my blog that ordinarily will not receive one visit at all because there are lots of big fish in the market but because my image post is exact tagged as the keywords people use to search, I receive thousands of buyers visits per months online. Length of Your Website Posts. The last one is the length of your website post. Google favours websites with articles that average 350 – 400 words but to make it more valuable and search engine friendly, I always advice that your spread your long-tail keywords in your articles by inlucding them in title, first and last paragraph of your post. These are the little known-secrets of pushing your blog to front page in lesser time than you think. Please share your ideas on how you made your websites rank higher online. Many reports have given accounts of the deadly activities of this heartless group, one of such reports is this that gives a detailed account of almost every attack of the group since 2010. Activities of this group began with what seemed like negligible misbehaviour as far back as 2002 in the now notorious north-eastern part of Nigeria, in notable states including Borno, Yobe and Adamawa. This perceived “negligible misbehaviour” has now worsened to heights that are just awful, the group is now reputed to be the second most dangerous terror group in the world, second only to the infamous Isis, and is said to have been responsible for more than 12,000 deaths in Nigeria, whilst leaving hundreds of thousands injured or displaced. And the actual numbers depend on who you’re listening to. This Islamic extremist sect claims its objective is to fight western education and infidels. Nigeria indeed has not remained the same since the advent of the sect and its devious activities, and this has had far reaching economic and political implications for Nigeria and the entire West-African region. But as important as the foregoing is, both for Nigeria and the World, and with high expectation from all well meaning people that the sect will be crushed as soon as the government of president Mohammadu Buhari gets itself together; it is still not the aim of this post. This post is aimed at helping startups find the business lessons in the midst of it all. WE CONDEMN TERROR IN ALL OF ITS FORMS. Did you realize they were underdogs? It is not unlikely for Startups to think of themselves as underdogs and possibly often believe that it’s a position of disadvantage. Business success stories around the world are beginning to demonstrate how in reality, being an ‘underdog’ can in fact be the Advantage. In his book, David & Goliath, Malcolm Gladwell showed with researches, that it can in fact be an advantage to be an underdog. And teaches therein how you can play to that advantage to beat traditional ‘heavy weights’. All you need do is find your advantage. Have you? Have you noticed a Niche? Even though the Boko Haram sect may be unpredictable as to timing and frequency of attacks, you can almost always be sure of where they will attack. Their model is clear. They attack religious places, motor parks, markets, viewing centers, government agencies and other crowded places. Without fail, they have attacked these sort of places again and again and again. And these are still the same targets for future attacks, same places. The question is, what’s your Startup’s Target? What’s your model? If you can’t define it, you’ve not started. Who else is seeing Consistency? The sect began its terrible activities as far back as 2002. And guess what? They didn’t stop, they kept at it. And today, as sad and grieving as it is, they are number 2 in the world. For how long do you plan to do what you’re doing? Will your Startup endure? Will you keep at what you have set out to do? Is your startup a Fling? Whilst it’s not unlikely that you may startup a number of businesses before you find your flow, when you do find your flow, will you be Consistent? Will you follow through? Did you see Growth? As inappropriate as this example sounds, it’s one of the truest thing about the insurgency. They Grew. Whether they had it in mind from day one or not is a symposium discussion, but truth is the sect’s growth has been noteworthy. What is the Growth plan for your Startup? Some believe that you shouldn’t worry about growth until you are sure you’ve found what works. I agree, but I believe that to make growth Organic, it must be part of the plan from day one. Read here, two compulsory growth engines your startup must have if you desire your business to achieve Growth without stress. Do you notice periodic retreats? If you have followed the activities of Boko Haram in Nigeria, you’d realize that they appear to have a calendar. In some season, they’d operate tirelessly wrecking all sorts of havocs and almost make it mysterious and inexplicable. All of a sudden, you’ll find them retreat to their base and for a while, there will seem to be peace. The Nigerian military will even appear to have an upper hand, like it happened in the last six weeks of president Goodluck Jonathan’s tenure. But guess what? They returned, and with almost fuller force and frequency. Have you taken time to retreat and take another look at your Startup? Have you sat back to ask, is this the right startup? Are we deploying the right strategy? Are we moving too fast or too slow? Do we even have a goal? You may need to retreat every once in a while to re-check your startup. WE CONDEMN TERROR IN ALL OF ITS FORMS. Source: http://africastartuplab.com/boko-haram-attacks-in-nigeria-africa-startup-lessons/ |

https://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2010/07/13/article-1294231-0A421159000005DC-787_468x578.jpg Full-time housewives can become entrepreneurs like their counterparts in the traditional societies and rural communities. They manage their home-based businesses; they find self expression and personal satisfaction serving others. This keeps them busy. They overcome the doldrums of ‘stay-at-home mum syndrome’; they become vital spokes in the wheel of medium and small-scale enterprises’ contributions to economy growth. Walking on sunshine Bisola (not real name) lives in the city. She was an upwardly mobile career woman in the oil and gas industry. She quit her job and became a full-time housewife. She said, “I am a woman, wife and mother. I work from home. I spend more time with my children. I cook hot meal for my husband. I love the life I live now.” It is not all full-time housewives that are walking on sunshine like Bisola. Career women are skeptical of life as full-time housewives. They prefer to keep their paid jobs in spite of the many troubles. Some wives suggest their husband should also embrace the ‘stay-at-home dad’ vocations. Overwhelming challenges The challenges of full-time housewives are overwhelming. These women are sometimes restrained from working and compelled to stay at home because of their spouses’ personal, socio-cultural or religious preferences. Others are constrained by gender, environmental and economic factors. There are also issues of personal limitations or spouse’s idiosyncrasies, poverty or over-abundance, under-employment or unemployment, retrenchment or early retirement, workplace harassment or glass ceiling and home-making or child-rearing. The ‘housewife syndrome’ If not properly managed, these challenges lead to ‘housewife syndrome’. Full-time housewives and home mothers suffer anxiety, anger and frustrations. They may be prone to nervous and emotional breakdowns. They experience feelings of isolation, loneliness, boredom, anxiety disorder, mood disorder, depression and in extreme cases mental health crises. They suffer in silence. They are ashamed to seek professional help for intervention. Getting your grooves back You can reverse the downhill trend. You can find purpose for living, happiness, and personal fulfilment as full-time housewife. Instead of living in denial or fighting to change your status when your spouse is insisting that it is a foregone conclusion, you can get your grooves back and enjoy life all over again! You can be a full-time housewife, and have your own business. You can work for yourself. Awaken your inner mind, there are opportunities around you. You can transform your circumstances into gold. Full-time housewife is a serious business You clean, sweep, wash, cook, cater to your children, prepare meals for your spouse, and entertain guests. You have all the facilities in your household to carry out these chores effortlessly. You are very good at multi-tasking. The next thing is to scale up. You should reorganise yourself and your kitchen to deploy your dexterity to serve your friends and community for a fee. Do what you enjoy doing at home and make money from it. Your talents You were a woman before you became a wife. You became a full-time housewife because you are a wife. You should rediscover yourself. Instead of lamenting about your situations, engage yourself and find out where your talents are. Are you good with using your mind, eyes, mouth or hands? Can you knit, sew, sell, talk, transcribe, interpret or use any instruments or tools before you got married? Go and sharpen your skills. Learn new vocation. You can earn money and grow a home-based business using your talents. Your time You should not chatter away your time on neighbourhood gossips, politics, trends in fashion and endless viewing of television. You should productively invest your time in home-based ventures that give you personal fulfilment and enable you earn your own income. Your space You can make money from unutilised spaces in your premises. You can consider small-scale agriculture: plant vegetables; rear pigs, snails, chicken, catfish, and rabbits for sale. You can rent out space for events. You should check out with your estate association and local government authorities before you convert your space. Your technology platform They litter your home, and are cost-centres. Your telephone, smart phones, internet facilities and other gadgets in your living rooms or kitchen can fetch you some money. You are not too old to learn new technologies. Your community You are a full-time housewife, but you are not an island. You operate in a community of people who have needs that you can meet. In your place of worship, where you shop, where you live, when you do school runs, when you meet old school mates or people in your estate, let them know what you can do to add value to their lives. Discuss with your family Your journey to become an entrepreneur begins with a conversation with your spouse. You should also carry other members of your household who may be impacted by your decision along. It helps to have them on your side. You will need their support. There are countless home-based businesses you can do. You should locate your passion and areas of interest and begin to earn money while enjoying your status as full-time housewife or home mother.
