The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris,
has sacked four policemen attached to Ijebu-
Ode Area Command in Ogun State for extortion..
According to reports, the men were found guilty
of extorting N50,000 from a man they arrested
on trumped up charge.
The affected officers were identified as Inspector
Mufutau Olaosun, Sgt. Adebayo Temitope, Cpl.
Bakare Taiwo and Cpl. Adesoye Ayokunlehin.
According to a statement by Assistant
Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Sogunle, who
heads the Police Public Complaints Rapid
Response Unit, the men were dismissed after
they were found guilty in an Orderly Room trial
at the Area Command Headquarters, Ijebu-Ode.
They were charged with discreditable Conduct
and Corrupt Practice under the First Schedule of
Police Act and Regulations Cap. P19. Laws of
the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
The four men on June 7, without any grounds,
arrested a man who was just leaving a bank
and took him to the Igbeba Station, where they
labelled him a "yahoo boy" and made him to
frog jump and write a self-incriminating
statement, that he was an internet fraudster.
After the maltreatment, they released the man
and also impounded the N50,000 he had gone
to collect on behalf of his boss, saying it was
payment for his bail. The man lodged a
complaint with the Police Public Complaints
Rapid Response Unit.
The police authorities found the complaint
genuine and were mortified that policemen could

Five Killed In Fresh Cult Clash
In Rivers (See Details)
Fresh Cult violence has been
recorded in a community in
Ikwerre Local Government
Area of Rivers State, with at
least five persons feared
killed.
It was gathered that two
rival cult groups clashed at
Egbeda community in the
area, killing a young man who
was identified as Ben.
A source within the area, who
confirmed the incident to
newsmen, alleged that the
rival cult group in a reprisal
attack over the murder of
Ben, who he said just
returned from Law School,
killed four persons.
He said that the development
had forced some inhabitants
of the community to flee their
homes for fear of being
attacked.
It has also been gathered
that suspected cultists have
continued to lay siege on the
link road between Omurele
through Egbeda and
Omudiogwa communities to
kidnap, rob and rape
inhabitants.

A new report by the U.N. refugee agency
(UNHCR) says a record of 65.6 million people
who are either refugees, asylum seekers were
displaced worldwide at the end of 2016.
According to the UNHCR's annual Global Trends
survey which was revealed today, the new
figures surpasses the 2015 report by 300,000,
consisting of 40.3 million internally displaced
people, 22.5 million refugees and 2.8 million
asylum seekers worldwide.
'By any measure this is an unacceptable
number,' said Filipo Grandi, the U.N. high
commissioner for refugees. He called the figures
a failure of diplomacy, reports BBC News.
"The world seems to have become unable to
make peace," he said, adding that conflicts old
and new are both resulting in forced
displacement of people, "a symbol for wars that
never end."
The conflict in Syria alone has displaced 12
million people overall, meaning that 65% of the
country's whole population are either internally
displaced or have become refugees outside the
country.
The UN, however, said it hoped Monday's
record-breaking numbers of displaced would
encourage wealthy countries to think again, not
just to accept more refugees, but to invest in

Pastor Tunde Bakare, leader of the Latter Rain
Assembly and former vice-presidential
candidate of the defunct Congress for
Progressive Change has blamed the political
terrain of Nigeria for the choice of an elderly
president in person pf Muhammadu Buhari.
Bakare spoke at a conference yesterday shortly
after his Sunday morning sermon titled, 'The
birth pangs of a new Nigeria'.
In his words:
'If you want to know whether the President
(Muhammadu Buhari) is getting better (and)
recovering, I said in the course of that message
he's on the sure path to recovery. Give him
time. The Niger Republic has not seen their
president for a while. Nigeria needs an energetic
leader but the circumstances of our polity have
brought us to where we are that the same
country that the likes of (Yakubu) Godwin ruled
at the age of 30 is now considering people in
their 60s and 70s to administer it.

Agbor Gha Ihun Apprehends 22-Year-Old Bag
Snatcher.
In their tireless effort to compliment the effort of
the police to secure lives and property in Agbor
and environs,members of Agbor Gha Ihun, on
Saturday night, June 17,2019,apprehended a
notorious handset thief and bag snatcher,Chijioke
Kanu,at the Ime-Obi area in Agbor.
Chijioke who claimed that his father is from the
East while the mother,a native of Owa-Alero, said
he is a member of a three man gang specialized
in the snatching of handbags and handsets.He
listed members of his gang to be;Tony Collins
Idegbekwu,a bricklayer and Emma, an Okada
rider.He stated that he is the third child in a
family of five children and was influenced to go
into crime by Emma.When quizzed further,Chijioke
confessed that he is a cultist and was initiated at
the of 17years,adding,"Collins, Emma and i,were
on our way to buy weed around Oza House area
in Agbor-Obi around 8pm on Saturday night when
we saw a young girl with a handbag,attacked her
and made away with her handbag.I am a
Jambite,i want to read Political Science in
University of Benin-City.If i am pardoned i will not
go into crime again."
Nemesis caught up with Chijioke after he was
chased alongside his gang members when they
tried to escape after the operation with their
motorcycle. A member of Agbor Gha Ihun who
coincidentally was at the spot of the
incident,heard the shout of the victim and gave
the bag snatchers a chase with his
car.Fortunately,his effort paid off as he was able
to hit down the motorcycle with his car,alighted
and grabbed Chijioke while others abandoned their
motorcycle and ran away.

appealing to parents to do more by taking proper

ya, actually i came across that name through my musical friends, because they always prefer addressing me as youngnizz

How did your family and friends feel about your decision to go into music when you started?

When i started, they did not fully support me, thinking it could disturb my studies, but they later support me after some years, seeing my efforts and how good i am in achieving all i want, especially my senior brother, he always help me by giving me money to record my songs
