Crime / Disquiet As Killers Of APC Chieftain Reportedly Plan To Flee Ikoyi Prison by ogugwa1992: 12:37pm On May 20, 2023
By Osondu Nwachukwu

Four suspected killers of an All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart, Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ubah, are reportedly planning to escape from the Ikoyi prison where they are being held.

Ubah, popularly called Onwa, was shot dead inside his Sports Utility Vehicle on July 21, 2017, at FESTAC Town in Amuwo Odofin Lagos.

According to the Lagos state police command, the suspects are Michael Fashola, who allegedly pulled the trigger that killed Ubah; Muftau Toyosi; Abidemi Kolawole known as Baido, and Fatai Onifade, also known as Apese.

A source who is a family member of ‘Onwa’ said Abidemi Kolawole and Fatai Onifade have already done a fake medical report to avoid appearing in court.

The source also alleged that the suspects are already scheming with prison officials to aid their escape soon.

He said:

“They don’t go to court anymore because they have forged a fake medical report which they use as an excuse.

“They are taken to a hotel instead of to the court. Only Michael Fashola and Muftau Toyosi have been appearing in court.

“There is a grand plan to free them, the highest injustice ever. These guys killed an innocent man and should never be allowed back into society. They are dangerous.”

The source added that the suspects are frustrating the court proceedings with their absence when their case comes up.

“These guys have settled most of these prison warders, and they are already planning to free them.

“We call on the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Correctional Service, and the courts to look into this issue.

“We will ensure that our brother gets justice no matter how long it takes. We will resist any attempt to allow those guys out of Ikoyi prison,” he added.

Politics / Udom Moves To Bribe Fct Appeal Panel Over Umo Eno’s Conviction. by ogugwa1992: 6:38pm On May 19, 2023
More desperate efforts have been reported to stave off the evil day for Pastor Umo Eno, as Gov Udom Emmanuel is said to have increased the bribe stakes for the judges of the FCT Appeal Panel sitting as Appellate Court reviewing the earlier reversal of Umo Eno’s conviction order, without following due process.

Recall that Umo Eno was convicted by an FCT magistrate court on charges of “cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property” in the suit marked CR/94/2022, involving one Edet Godwin Etim.

“You are hereby directed to arrest the said Pastor Umo Bassey Eno and produce him before me,” ordered chief magistrate Emmanuel Iyanna on December 23, 2022.

A source had told The Cable newspaper that: “The warrant of arrest is based on criminal proceedings conviction conducted by the chief magistrate court, Wuse, Abuja, and directed that the defendant be arrested and brought to court for sentencing having continuously refused to surrender himself to court.”

Curiously, on the 11th day of January, a day after the order of substituted service was issued for hearing slated for 13th January 2023, the same court claimed the conviction and arrest orders were vacated.

A FCT High court sitting as appellate Court was approached to review the order that purportedly and unlawfully set aside Umo Eno’s conviction.

When the matter came up for review on May 17, 2023, Counsel to Umo Eno, Paul Usoro SAN, had filed a motion challenging the jurisdiction of the panel to entertain the suit, apparently in a last minute effort to frustrate the hearing.

The suit was later adjourned to May 24, 2023 for both parties to adopt their respective briefs and thereafter judgement.

However, after an extensive all- night meeting in Government House on May 17, 2023, Paul Usoro, SAN, was directed by Gov Udom Emmanuel to do everything humanly possible to compromise the Appeal panel headed by His Lordship, Justice Belgore, even if it means doubling the bribe so as to enable him send in a letter next week Wednesday, to excuse his appearance in court thereby frustrating its sitting on that day and paving the way for Umo Eno’s swearing-in on May 29th.

A team from Akwa Ibom state government, led by Engr Uwem Okoko, the Managing Director of Hensek, is said to have already mobilised to Abuja, with a directive to double or triple the bribe stakes to Hon. Justice M B Idris and Hon. Justice Belgore, to ensure that the eventual judgement is skewed in favour of Umo Eno.

However, while reacting to the development, some legal analysts opined that Umo Eno’s fate appears sealed, blaming his legal team for doing a shoddy job from the beginning.

“Even if Gov Udom Emmanuel uses all the Akwa Ibom state money to engage in bribery, there is nothing any judicial officer will be able to do in the circumstance due to how Samuel Ikpo and Uwemedimo Nwoko jumped due process to further complicate the case for Umo Eno. The fraudulent Order that purportedly set aside warrant of arrest and conviction was signed the day the court was not sitting as complainant’s lawyers had already obtained the day's case list,” said Barr Joseph Ibibom.

The expert explained that by operation of law and the Rules of Court, the Appellate Court has been asked to quash the fraudulent order and pronounce sentence outrightly. “Appellate Court is not where Umo Eno can even make any defense as it is not a trial court. Meanwhile what was remaining after conviction was sentencing which the arrest warrant was issued for”, he submitted.

Politics / Dear Obidients: Tinubu Will Be Sworn In... - Amaka Ogunjobi by ogugwa1992: 9:06am On Apr 18, 2023
With the expiration of the 21 days within which candidates are allowed to file and amend election petitions at the tribunal, all eyes are now on the Nigerian Judiciary in what may well turn out to be the most important judicial proceedings in the history of the country.
Last week, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), responded to petitions filed by the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, His Excellency Peter Obi, as well as that of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) asking the tribunal to dismiss their cases. On the heels of their response, the tribunal is expected to announce dates for commencement of proceedings.
The questions on the mind of many Nigerians include:
1). Can the tribunal be trusted to deliver the right judgment?
2). Can the tribunal deliver it's judgement before the May 29th handover date?
3). Is it mandatory for the winner of the Presidential election to score 25% votes in the FCT?
Perhaps the most important question, especially for Obidients is, what if the tribunal upholds the election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President? What if the tribunal dismisses all the petitions raised against the APC and its presidential candidate?
Of course the petitioners still have the option of proceeding to the Supreme Court, however what if the Supreme Court upholds the ruling of the tribunal?
While I applaud the Obidient Movement for their resilience and putting up a formidable opposition to the shenanigans of the ruling APC, they also need to come to terms with reality and the fact that a winner of the Presidential election has been declared and he will be sworn in on May 29th. Our constitution does not recognize the place of an Interim Government (ING) and there will be no vacuum in governance. On May 29th, the declared winner of the Presidential election will be sworn in except the tribunal rules otherwise before that date - one cannot as well predict how long an appeal would take.
What then are the options before the Obidient Movement going forward? Form a formidable opposition base and hold government accountable. Strategically organise instead of consistently agonizing online. No matter how much we shout or wail, it will not change the technical interpretation of Nigeria's constitution or the law. Threatening members of the tribunal or making derogatory remarks against the judiciary won't make them issue a ruling in our favor. One thing we can do, is set standards with which we can hold in the incoming administration accountable in its delivery of the dividends of democracy as well as its campaign promises to Nigerians.
Again, I admonish us to tone down the heat and the verbal altercations online. Let's be civil in our communications. We can disagree without insulting one another or setting the nation on fire with our unguided utterances. We have no other home but Nigeria.

Yours Obidiently,
Amaka Ogunjobi

Politics / Yari: The Betrayal Of Trust By Isa Umar by ogugwa1992: 12:57pm On Apr 14, 2023
It is true that in politics, there is no permanent friend nor permanent enemy, but permanent interests, a slogan many political panduits have religiously held to their chests and hearts without recourse to responsibility, the future and repercussions that a decision taken under such circumstantial slogan might cause in the long run.

The staggering politics of Zamfara has been battered by this mannerisms such that the former governor of the state, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar in 2019, ahead of the governorship election in the state became so power drunk having served for two terms straight, felt he could change the political arrangement and arithmetic of the state by single handedly deciding who would run for what political position in all the elective positions in the state.

This decision caused a lot of damage to the APC in the state, perhaps it is yet to fully recover. It made the party loss all even though it won all the state assembly, national assembly and governorship seats to the party (PDP) with the second highest votes in that election, giving birth to the emergence of the Matawallen Maradun, Alhaji Bello Mohammed as the governor as well as all others except one that contested under the platform of the PDP to occupy the seats according to a Supreme Court ruling for the next four years till 2023.

Having assumed office, governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle who took over a turbulent state largely controlled by bandits, kidnappers and cattle rustlers on the one hand and stiff opposition wedged by the Yaris making leadership near impossible, took up the challenge through peaceful and unifying manner of approach on both when he stepped up non-kinetic approach on the criminals by appealing for peace, a situation which brought relative peace to most parts of the state with some of the repentant bandits assisting security operatives in tracking and subduing unrepentant ones.

On the political fronts too, Matawalle sued for peace, reminding all political gladiators especially the former governor Yari and Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa to join him in making Zamfara politically strong and stable while he was also being midwifed by chieftains of the APC to join their party at a time the PDP never sympathized with him in the fight against bandits and other heinous criminals giving people of the state sleepless nights.

In the name of reconciliation and peace initiated by him, governor Matawalle defected to the APC bringing almost all the politicians in the state under one roof and agreeing to give juicy positions to the Yari camp members while when it was time to elect candidates ahead of the 2023 election in the state, Matawalle made sure Yari emerged for Zamfara west senatorial district and also made Yari the Matawalle second term governorship campaign coordinator.

It is with this super power non interference position given to him by Matawalle that Yari made sure he started hatching his unwholesome plans by ensuring that only his boys ran things for the campaign by appointing one of them as director general, the secretary and another to handle matters relating to INEC, thus he was able to sideline the APC leadership including notable stakeholders like his former Deputy when he was governor, Mallam Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad and the former Minister of Finance, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda as well as taking advantage of the silence that followed the situation to virtually hijack all activities of the party and the campaign council to his home town of Talata Mafara giving first hand directives to his loyalists before the party or its leaders.

Meanwhile, even before the reconciliation which was initiated by Matawalle, Yari had already planted his boys into the PDP including the governor elect, Dauda Lawal Dare, Dantabawa, Maibuhu Gumi, Rabiu Ilili, Almufti, Musa Mallaha and others who forged what looked like a protest against their master to move to the PDP where he continued to fund them based on needs. It is now strongly speculated especially in Zamfara political circles that Yari fully sponsored the campaign activities of former minister Ikra Bilbis to defeat (thou inconclusive) Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa also in a bid to punish Marafa for his recalcitrance against Yari ahead of the 2019 election in the state.

However, twist of events began to emerge when the Yari followers began to display anti APC tendencies and showing support to key elective positions seekers from the opposition without any concrete criticism from Yari and culminating to the defeat of the governorship candidate at the polls.

Even when his boys were saying it to the hearing of everyone that they mix rice and beans (elect Yari's choices in both APC and PDP) ahead of the 2023 elections, Yari kept mum till they actualized this and he came out to accuse them of anti party while he continued to work with them as if he was rewarding them for work well done, because when he was to share foodstuff to party members in his area during the Ramadan fast, he gave the same boys the power to share the gesture.

While this pain and hurt were being felt by the APC, Yari who had already won his senatorial seat with the full support of the governor decided to jet out of the country to Saudi Arabia in the name of performing the lesser Hajj leaving the Matawalle group to fend for itself.

Yari's romance with the PDP has never been hidden right from the time he tried to defect to the PDP having lost control of the APC to Matawalle in the state, he was involved in Kaduna PDP campaign by sponsoring its governorship candidate, against Uba Sani who was the APC and Yari's party's candidate, that at a point, the now governor elect in Kaduna, Uba Sani had to warn Yari to steer clear from meddling in Kaduna politics.

As Matawalle supporters and loyalists are now practically trying to gather evidence against INEC over the last governorship election in the state, Yari who is the campaign coordinator is nowhere to be found, only information trickling out that as a first timer in the senate, he is already busy campaigning to be its president in the 10th assembly and at the same time, making arrangement to again abandon Matawalle and leave for another lesser Hajj, twice in less than 50 days. He should be reminded that he swore not to accept his emergence as senator if Matawalle failed to win the governorship election, he still has not said anything on this but aiming for the highest office in the senate, the president.

This is strongly confirming the suspicion that Yari is still on a vengeance mission against Matawalle who took over power from him, took over APC leadership and structure of the state and that he vowed to deal with Matawalle at the appropriate time which might be now because in his history, he is said to be an unforgiving being.

Politics / Driving Good Governance In The NDDC And Niger Delta by ogugwa1992: 2:25pm On Apr 04, 2023
The Governing Board and Advisory Council:

Pius Ughakpoteni
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is a federal agency established in 2000 to foster sustainable development in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. The region has abundant rich natural resources, but its people struggle with poverty, environmental decay, and social turmoil. Despite the hardships of the Niger Delta, the NDDC, like a gardener who cares for a forgotten garden and transforms it into a lively and beautiful oasis, is dedicated to making the region a better place for its people and empowering them to enjoy its wealth.
The NDDC has made some impact and achieved some successes in providing infrastructure, education, health, and empowerment programs to the region. However, it still has a long way to go and many challenges to surmount to realize its full potential and vision. The NDDC seeks to address these challenges and enhance the people’s living standards in the region. However, the NDDC has encountered several hurdles in fulfilling its goals. Some of the significant challenges that hamper the NDDC projects are:
• Corruption, misappropriation, and mismanagement of funds by some officials and contractors
• Incompetence and lack of professionalism among some contractors
• Environmental issues such as pollution, flooding, and erosion damage infrastructure and livelihoods
• Youth militancy and violence that disrupt peace and security
• Inadequate monitoring and evaluation of project implementation and impact
• Poor coordination and collaboration with other stakeholders, such as the federal, state, and local governments, civil society organizations, and community leaders
These challenges have eroded the performance and reputation of the NDDC and its projects in the region and have cast doubts on its effectiveness and legitimacy. Corporate governance is the system that shapes and controls how a firm is run and managed. It involves balancing the interests of various stakeholders, such as shareholders, senior management executives, customers, suppliers, financiers, the government, and the community. Corporate governance also defines how an organization distributes power, accountability, and decision-making among its members. The challenges that plague the NDDC projects pertain to corporate governance issues. For example:
- Corruption, misappropriation, and mismanagement of funds breach the principle of accountability that demands transparency and honesty in financial reporting and auditing
- Incompetence and lack of professionalism among some contractors undermine the quality and efficiency of the projects and tarnish the reputation and credibility of the NDDC
- Environmental issues such as pollution, flooding, and erosion endanger the sustainability and viability of the projects and the region
- Youth militancy and violence impede the smooth implementation and operation of the projects and create insecurity and instability
- Inadequate monitoring and evaluation restrict the performance measurement and feedback mechanisms that are crucial for good corporate governance
- Poor coordination and collaboration with other stakeholders hamper the alignment of interests and goals and the effective use of resources
Therefore, good corporate governance is critical for addressing these challenges and ensuring the NDDC projects achieve their objectives and benefit the Niger Delta Region. Good corporate governance is more than just a system of rules, practices, and processes. It is also a culture of values and principles that guide an organization’s operations. It aims to balance the interests of different stakeholders, such as shareholders, customers, employees, and the community, and to ensure that decision-making is inclusive, transparent, accountable, fair, and responsible. Good corporate governance also involves managing risks and promoting ethical behavior within the organization.
Good corporate governance is like a strong foundation for a building. The building cannot stand without a solid foundation, and any efforts to build on it will be fruitless. Good corporate governance provides the same solid foundation for a business, allowing it to stand firm and thrive in the long run.
Some examples of good corporate governance practices are:
- Ensuring transparency and accountability in its operations. This could involve implementing measures such as regular financial reporting and audits and establishing clear lines of responsibility and accountability within the organization.
- Promoting ethical behavior within the organization by establishing a code of conduct for employees and implementing measures to prevent conflicts of interest and corruption.
- Ensuring its decision-making processes are inclusive and participatory by engaging with stakeholders such as local communities, civil society organizations, and international agencies to ensure their voices are audible.
Good corporate governance is also a critical component of development. It involves the efficient and effective use of resources, transparency, accountability, and the rule of law. Good corporate governance is essential for building trust and confidence among stakeholders, including international agencies and multinationals. The NDDC must prioritize good corporate governance to attract support from these stakeholders.
To adhere to the tenets of good corporate governance and position itself for support from international agencies and multinationals in developing the region, the NDDC could take several steps. These steps include:
- Implementing the good corporate governance practices mentioned above
- Strengthening its internal control systems to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, standards
- Enhancing its communication strategy to inform stakeholders about its activities, achievements, challenges
- Seeking feedback from stakeholders on its performance, impact, satisfaction
- Establishing partnerships with other development actors to leverage resources, expertise
The role of the NDDC Governing Board is crucial for implementing these steps and ensuring good corporate governance in the Commission. The Governing Board is responsible for overseeing the financial situation, designing the business strategy, and ensuring coherence with the defined values and ethical principles of NDDC. The Governing Board also provides oversight and guidance to the Commission’s management team and ensures that the Commission is operating in the best interests of its stakeholders. After being without a board for nearly four years, the federal government inaugurated the Governing Board on January 4th, 2023.
The Governing Board must work closely with the Advisory Council, another vital statutory body for ensuring good corporate governance in the NDDC. According to the NDDC Act, the Advisory Council consists of the governors of the nine-member states of the NDDC and two other members appointed by the President. The Advisory Council is responsible for advising the Board on matters relating to the development of the Niger Delta region and monitoring the activities of the Commission. The Advisory Council also has the power to make regulations to discharge its functions effectively. The current chairman of the Advisory Council is Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State.
The NDDC Advisory Council and Governing Board are vital in ensuring good corporate governance in the Commission and transforming the Niger Delta region. They must collaborate to overcome the challenges that have hindered the Commission and its past projects and fulfill their mandate of fostering sustainable development in the region. They must also engage with other stakeholders, such as the federal government, international agencies, multinationals, civil society organizations, and local communities, to ensure their efforts are harmonized and coordinated. They must show transparency, accountability, professionalism, and ethical behavior in their operations and decision-making. They must communicate clearly with their stakeholders and seek feedback on their performance and impact. They need to manage risks and foster innovation and learning within the Commission.
By adhering to these steps and the principles of good corporate governance, the NDDC Advisory Council and Governing Board could earn the trust and confidence of their stakeholders and secure support from international agencies and multinationals for sustainable development in the region. By doing these things, they can make good corporate governance a reality in the NDDC and make a positive difference in the Niger Delta region.

Politics / NDDC Is Committed To Addressing Stakeholders' Priorities, Says Ogbuku by ogugwa1992: 1:07pm On Apr 03, 2023
**
The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, emphasized its renewed zeal to accord stakeholders and their priorities the utmost attention in the conception and execution of projects.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, stated this today at the beginning of a one-day working visit to the University of Port Harcourt.
Addressing members of the University’s Governing Council at the Council Chambers shortly after his arrival, Dr. Ogbuku said: “We are here to understand what your priorities are. At the NDDC, we believe it is not enough to conceive projects. We have to interface with the beneficiaries, including stakeholders like state governments, to do meaningful projects and avoid duplication of projects. This is what informed our visit to the University.”
He explained that the paucity of financial resources amidst increasing expectations of stakeholders had necessitated the Commission’s adoption of a partnership approach to developing the Niger Delta. "We have created a provision for partnership in our budget. Partnership breeds more mileage to development where finance and technical limitations will be significantly reduced or eliminated. The Commission is open to partnership with the University regarding research and other benefits it can offer."
Earlier, the Pro-Chancellor, of the University of Port Harcourt, Chief Senator Andrew Uchendu, formally welcomed the NDDC Managing Director/CEO, saying: “I know you as a person, and I can tell you are a very focused, humble, and humane gentleman. This charisma is worthy of emulation."
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Prof. Owunari Georgewill, described Dr. Ogbuku as “one of the Icons that have passed through this university. Your hard work and dedication as an individual have opened higher doors for you." He said: “The University is very proud of you. That is why we rolled out the drums to receive you. It is very rare for the University to do so and this is one of those rare occasions.”
The NDDC has made several remarkable interventions in the University of Port Harcourt, all of which were more than 80 percent completed and, upon inspection on the 3rd of April 2023, are in good condition.
These projects include:
- Construction of NDDC prototype Hostel at the University of Port Harcourt awarded in 2004 (100% completed)
- Construction of High-Performance Centre at the university of Port Harcourt awarded in 2013 (100% completed)
- Rehabilitation of 8-Lane Base with D-Zone Supply/Installation of Synthetic Athletic running track at the University of Port Harcourt awarded in 2013 (100% completed)
- Emergency Road Repairs of University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital Complex Access/Internal Roads awarded in 2016 (100% completed)
- Construction of Urgently Remedy Failed and Unmotorable sections of New Gana-Ama Road, University of Port Harcourt, awarded in 2018 (100% completed)
- Emergency Repairs of Failed and Unmotorable sections of Staff quarters internal roads at Uniport, Rivers State/Amadi Wechele Street off Mgbuoshimini Road & Street Lights awarded in 2021 (100% completed).
Dr. Ogbuku’s working visit set the University agog, as the Presedent of the Student Union Government, Comrade Dickson Senibo mobilised the entire student body to accord the visiting delegation a rousing reception. The excitement over his visit is not unconnected with Dr. Ogbuku having obtained his Bachelor's, Master's and Doctorate degrees from the University of Port Harcourt.
He was accompanied by the Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Major General Charles Airhiavbere, the Executive Director, Projects, Mr. Charles Ogunmola, and a host of directors. They were treated to a command performance at the university auditorium, before they proceeded on a tour of the university.

Politics / INEC And FGN Face N77 Billion Compensation Claim From E-voting Innovators by ogugwa1992: 6:33am On Apr 03, 2023
E-Voting Innovators Demand N77 Billion from INEC and FGN for Suppressed Proposal

Dr Adah Edache Obekpa and Renaissance Network Africa (RNA) have filed a lawsuit against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) over alleged suppression of their contributions to the introduction of electronic voting (E-voting) in Nigeria.

Dr Obekpa, a US-based medical professional, and RNA, an organisation working for the unification of Africa and its Diaspora through trade, tourism, and innovative endeavours, claim to have proposed the E-voting system to INEC in 2010 and presented the "Renaissance I-voting Proposal for INEC" to Prof Mahmud Jega on behalf of INEC in October 2010.

"Our clients, Dr. Adah Edache Obekpa and Renaissance Network Africa (RNA), firmly believe in the rights of creators to benefit from and be recognised for their innovative contributions," a statement issued on Sunday, April 2, 2023 by the innovator's lawyers, Jonathan Akeme, said.

"They view INEC's actions in circumventing their pioneering I-voting proposal as a violation of these fundamental rights.

"Our legal action seeks to protect not only our clients' interests but also to uphold the principles of transparency, justice, and fair recognition for inventors and innovators.

"It is our belief that these values must be honored and defended in this matter," he ended.

The proposal, prepared by Layer3, was given comprehensive media coverage with a special news briefing on the subject matter hosted by Dr Obekpa at the Unity Hall of Reiz Continental Hotel, Central Business District, Abuja, on October 23, 2010.

According to Dr Obekpa and RNA, the I-voting proposal for INEC is the same in contents, features, design, and operation as the Biometric Verification System (BIVAS) tech device and INEC online result viewing portal (IReV).

They allege that the failure of the BIVAS and IReV, as well as the lack of complete transparency in the just-concluded 2023 general elections, is a result of INEC's refusal to adopt salient security features contained in the I-voting proposal submitted to the commission.

The plaintiffs allege that INEC jettisoned the system protocol's transparency features, including using another iPhone as a hidden camera discreetly placed in the polling booth where the ballot box resides.

Its purpose is to record the whole electoral process and the voters as they vote. They also allege that the sharing of polling unit results with political parties and the media in real-time when the results are sent to INEC's server was not adopted by INEC.

Dr Obekpa and RNA are aggrieved that they have neither received any credit from INEC nor been recognised by the FGN for being the first to introduce the E-voting system to the commission as far back as 2010.

They claim that INEC deliberately suppressed all information relating to them as originators of the idea leading to the introduction of the BIVAS and IReV portals.

Dr Obekpa and RNA have accordingly approached the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court (FHC) for redress in Suit No FHC/ABJ/CS/391/2023 now before Justice I. E. Ekwo of Court No. 7. In the said Suit instituted on their behalf by their lawyer, Jonathan Akeme, Esq, they are praying the court to direct INEC and FGN to compensate them in the sum of N77 billion for their novel and innovative I-voting proposal, which birthed the BIVAS and IReV, and to be publicly recognised.

INEC and the FGN are yet to respond to the allegations levelled against them by Dr Obekpa and RNA.

Religion / Participants Testify Of Experience From Healing Streams With Pastor Chris by ogugwa1992: 7:45pm On Mar 31, 2023
Avalanche of miracles as participants testify of experience from Healing Streams with Pastor Chris

Several millions of people from around the world are still enthused about the effusion of miracles and blessings that rained down to the earth from the throne of God, at the seventh edition of Healing Stream Services which took place from March 17 - 20, 2023, as they participated.
The love and powers of God on display across all nations of the world simultaneously was indescribable and as many as were under any form of ailment or oppression of the devil received their salvation and instant healing and are attesting to the ever present healing powers of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit present in the life of the Man of God Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.
Spontaneous healing took place across all nations on earth as God’s children were set free from all kinds of ailments and bondage. Testimonies streamed live from billions of people from all nations all over the world, as they reeled under the power of salvation, and spiritual juvenescence that they received during these three awesome days, evidencing the power in the name of Jesus Christ.
People of all races and continent irrespective of class and status, connected to Jesus Christ through the Live Healing Services in hope of divine intervention, and as a permanent solution to the myriad of ailments and conditions that have stumped medical science.
The Loveworld singers led the globe in sublime worship of the All Mighty God at the beginning of the Live Services daily, which is followed by a charge by the Director of the Healing School, Pastor Deola Phillips to all men to bury their doubts in order to be in the receiving mode from God.
“Be in a receiving mode! God cares about you and has done something about your situation. Today is the day for your miracle,”- Pastor Deola Phillips charge all worshippers. And true to her charge, many who keyed into her words got their deliverance and miracles at the Live Healing Service.
Progress from China, broke his right wrist on February 22 this year. Since then, he could not carry any object. During the worship session at the Live Healing service, he got healed. “It is unbelievable but I got healed. When I got home, I moved my bed naturally without any pain.”- Progress said.
Mrs Leonie Sagn from Senegal had been suffering from goiter since 2011. For 12 years she was dependent on drugs and medication. Anytime she failed to take her drugs, the goiter swells. On Day One of the Live Service, when Pastor Chris ministered, he spoke about a lady with neck problems. She immediately felt warmth in her neck and knew she had received her healing. Since then, she has not taken any medication, and the goiter is receding.
Liza Dominico, from the United Kingdom, had battled severe body odour for years. Nothing she did could get rid of it. A while after Pastor Chris ministered healing during Day 2 of the Live healing service, she suddenly noticed the odour had disappeared. Till now, the stench is gone.
A man brimming with love and spiritual authority, the Man of God, Pastor Chris, shared daily, revelational truths about the person and character of God. His plans and purpose for man and the endgame, of the profane and foolish, who, refuses to yield to God. It was a moment of awakening for billions as the Man of God made everyone to recognise that “Whatever God does is made to last forever. When he created you, he made you perfect. The only reason you get sick is because something that isn't supposed to be in your body got into your body or something that was supposed to be there was taken away,” Pastor Chris said.
Thereafter, millions gave their heart to God while many rededicated themselves anew. Declaring the weekend an extraordinary one full of miracles, Pastor Chris went on to daily minister healing and strength to those on the receiving line before directing the healing power of God to all connected to the services globally. Grievous conditions, ailments, pains and disabilities of all kinds varnished instantly while demons fled summarily from bodies previously inhabited. Great rejoicing and testimonies sprung forth from every race, city, state and nation on earth in praise to God as hundreds of thousands discovered their healing and demonstrated it by doing what they couldn’t do before.

Politics / Nddc’s Partnership Approach To Unlocking The Niger Delta Potential by ogugwa1992: 4:26pm On Mar 31, 2023
By Pius Ughakpoteni

The Niger Delta region is like a diamond in the rough. It has vast potential for wealth and prosperity due to its reserves of oil and gas and its largely youthful population. Due to its neglect, it has suffered. Like a person with abundant natural resources but an inadequate environment to foster them, the Niger Delta has excellent success potential. Still, it needs improvement with more opportunities and support.

Likewise, the region is like a beautiful flower that is both a blessing and a curse simultaneously. Its beauty and bounty provide sustenance for the people, while its hidden thorns bring destruction and despair. The petals are delicate, and the color is stunning. However, if you look closer, you will see that the stem is weak and the roots are rotting.

The statutory mandate of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is to foster enduring growth in the Niger Delta area, like a gardener nurturing a garden for bountiful harvests. The immense oil and gas resources within the Niger Delta serve as this metaphorical garden, offering substantial income streams for the nation. As soon as it got its mandate, the NDDC worked on cultivating sustainable development in the region. NDDC is committed to nurturing and growing this vital area of our country’s economy like a skilled gardener.

Over the years, the NDDC has faced numerous challenges in achieving its objectives. These challenges include inadequate funding and inadequate partnerships with relevant stakeholders. To overcome these challenges, the NDDC has adopted a partnership approach that prioritizes building strong and effective partnerships with relevant stakeholders.

Through Management, the recently inaugurated Governing Board chose this option because it believes that with the proper care, attention, and resources, this diamond can be polished and transformed into a beautiful jewel that brings wealth and stability to the region. NDDC is committed to nurturing and growing this vital area of our country’s economy like a skilled gardener.

Imagine a lush garden brimming with life and beauty. Like the diverse range of plants required for such a garden to thrive, various stakeholders are necessary for the Niger Delta to flourish. Think of the Niger Delta as a flourishing garden. Just like how a diverse range of plants is essential for its growth and prosperity, so too are different stakeholders crucial to the success of this region.

NDDC is working towards sustainable development in the Niger Delta through its partnership approach. NDDC’s partnership approach to sustainable development in the Niger Delta is like building a house. With all stakeholders working together, the house will be complete. But with every stakeholder contributing their part, they can erect a strong and lasting house. Partnerships are like three-legged stools. Only when all three legs work together can the stool be stable. In the same way, only when all stakeholders work together can the Niger Delta achieve sustainable development.

One of the key stakeholders the NDDC needs to work with is the private sector. The private sector has the expertise, resources, and technology to drive economic growth and development in the Niger Delta region. By partnering with the private sector through public- private partnerships (PPPs) and joint ventures, the NDDC can successfully leverage these resources to implement its programs and projects. The public and private sectors can collaborate through PPPs to finance, design, build, and operate infrastructure projects. Likewise, joint ventures allow two or more entities to partner on a specific project or business venture.

Another stakeholder the NDDC needs to partner with is the government at all levels. The government is critical in promoting sustainable development in the Niger Delta region. By partnering with government agencies and departments, participating in government-led initiatives, and advocating for policies that promote sustainable development, the NDDC can access government resources, policies, and programs that support its development objectives. The NDDC is also keen on more vital collaboration with state and local governments to implement programs and projects that address their communities specific needs.

Furthermore, civil society organizations (CSOs) and community-based organizations (CBOs) are essential partners for the NDDC. These organizations deeply understand the needs and aspirations of people in the Niger Delta region. By collaborating on specific programs and projects, leveraging their expertise and resources, and involving them in planning and implementation, the NDDC can ensure that its programs and projects align with the needs and aspirations of people in the region.

The NDDC also needs the cooperation of foreign entities such as multilateral agencies, foreign government agencies, donor agencies, and multinational corporations to promote sustainable development in the Niger Delta region. Multilateral agencies such as the World Bank, African Development Bank (AfDB), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and International Monetary Fund (IMF) can provide technical assistance, funding, and policy advice to the NDDC. These agencies have extensive experience promoting sustainable development in developing countries and can give the NDDC valuable insights and expertise.

Foreign government agencies such as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Department for International Development (DFID) in the UK, and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) can also partner with the NDDC to promote sustainable development in the Niger Delta region. These agencies can provide funding, technical assistance, and policy advice to the NDDC and collaborate with the NDDC on specific programs and projects.

Donor agencies such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Ford Foundation, and Rockefeller Foundation can also partner with the NDDC to promote sustainable development in the Niger Delta region. These agencies can provide funding, technical assistance, health, education, and agriculture expertise.

Multinational corporations such as Shell, Chevron, ExxonMobil, and Total have a significant presence in the Niger Delta region. They can partner with the NDDC to promote sustainable development. These corporations can provide funding, technical assistance, and expertise in environmental management, community development, and corporate social responsibility. The NDDC can partner with these corporations in various ways. These include participating in joint ventures, leveraging their expertise and resources, and involving them in planning and implementing programs and projects.

Partnerships will enable the NDDC to leverage diverse perspectives and resources to address the region’s complex challenges. With various forms of collaboration, the NDDC can overcome challenges by leveraging partners’ expertise and resources to implement programs and projects that promote sustainable development in the Niger Delta region.

The Niger Delta region has enormous potential for economic growth and development. By working together, we can unlock this region’s full potential and create lasting prosperity for all involved. The NDDC needs to work with many stakeholders to benefit all who call this beautiful garden home. Partnering with the private sector, government, CSOs, CBOs, and foreign entities is critical to the NDDC’s success in promoting the sustainable development of the Niger Delta region. The NDDC can leverage its partners’ expertise and resources to implement its programs and projects for the region’s speedy growth.

Therefore, the NDDC is beckoning all stakeholders to unite as partners in progress toward building an even brighter future for the Niger Delta. Join us as we work toward sustainable development in the region. By investing in the human potential of the Niger Delta’s youthful population, we can unlock even more excellent opportunities for growth and development. Let’s work together to cultivate an environment where everyone thrives! It is time to open the Niger Delta region’s potential and let it shine brightly.

Pius Ughakpoteni is the Director, New Media at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and he wrote from Port Harcourt.

Politics / How Senator Akpabio Betrayed APC Guber Candidate In A'ibom by ogugwa1992: 2:06pm On Mar 20, 2023
- secretly worked for his cousin's House of Assembly ambition

Anthony Bassey
Uyo, Akwa Ibom State

The abysmal performance of the APC gubernatorial candidate, Akwa Ibom State, Obong Akanimo Udofia, in the just concluded governorship election in the State has exposed the insincerity and lack of commitment of Senator Godswill Akpabio to the Akan Udofia's candidature.

Faithful of the APC in the State are left in total bewilderment following the poor outing of the party in the State, especially in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, considered as the stronghold of the party due to the former governor's influence.

Reacting to the poor showing of the APC across the State, Atuekong Ekerette Inokon Essien, a chieftain of the party from Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area stated that the party's poor outing in the election has confirmed that Senator Akpabio , who hijacked the party structures across the party through the backdoor and imposed Akanimo Udofia on the party as a Governorship candidate through a "midnight coup" and a sham process, was never committed to the Udofia's cause and APC taking over the mantle of leadership in the State because Senator Akpabio has always been afraid of losing his imaginary position of leader of the party in the State.

Mr. Inokon added that Akpabio brought Udofia, a total stranger to the party and politics of the State, to weaken the APC and cause division in the Akwa Ibom APC so Akpabio can have his mway in Abuja and as a strategy of blackmail against other leaders of the party in the State.

The APC Stalwart further stressed that it was shocking that the same APC that swept the National Assembly polls across Akpabio's district could not win a single House of Assembly seat in the State election because Senator Akpabio refused to release the needed logistics support given to the State APC by the National Working Committee of the party. This is in addition to the open endorsements and campaigns for opposition parties by Akpabio's trusted allies. The party chieftain further alleged that Senator Akpabio had a secret meeting a night before the election and directed his foot soldiers to work for his cousin, Prince Ukpong Akpabio in the House of Assembly election and Sen OBA of YPP in the governorship election.

It would be recall that Atuekong Ekerette Inokon had last week raised the alarm that it was crystal clear to "all concerned APC stakeholders in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District that Sen Akpabio had signed a pact with Sen Bassey Albert Akpan of the YPP ".

Mr. Essien had further revealed that Sen Akpabio's activities along with his cohorts in recent weeks has shown that Akpabio was not committed to the APC and its gubernatorial candidate, especially after Akpabio won his election into the Senate.

"We have been made aware of an agreement entered into between Sen Akpabio/his political structure and the YPP candidate, which delivered victory to Sen Akpabio in the last National Assembly elections"

"Sen Akpabio in exchange for the YPP'S gesture has directed his supporters in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District and the State at large to work for the emergence of Sen OBA as the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Inokon had stated.

Politics / When Silence Is No Longer Golden By Umeh Ik Emmanuel by ogugwa1992: 2:33pm On Mar 17, 2023
The last has not been heard of the dreaded Lagos APC thug who goes by the nickname "MC Oluomo".

One would at first imagine that the level of preparedness of our security agencies for the 2023 polls will see to people like MC Oluomo cooling off in at least one of the police custodies in the country already but rather he still appears in public doing what he knows best to do, which is, to be issuing political threats on behalf of his party, the APC.

Tinubu who is known to be his godfather must as a matter of urgency understand that he is rather acclamation by the Mahmood-led INEC that he is President-elect of Nigeria means he should start seeing himself as a national leader and no longer as a regional leader.

Tinubu is supposed to fight for every Nigerian regardless of tribe or religion. By virtue of his being President-elect, pending the decision of the courts, he is no longer a regional leader but a leader for all Nigerians. When a tout, a nonentity comes and insults an entire race yet the President-elect has not released a single statement, one would rightfully be shocked as to what kind of President Tinubu will be. How does he intend to unite Nigeria if he can't see the fact that a well-known thug is threatening the citizens he intends to govern, as President. He should not forget that the country is tensed already. MC Oluomo threatening the Igbo race for political reasons, stands condemned. This same thing happened in Rwanda about 30 years ago where people were abusing each other's tribe, the rest of which was the Rwandan genocide of 1994. It is not nice of Tinubu that a member of his own party and his own political party is threatening a tribe and consequently a whole nation and yet, such member of his party is still walking the streets of Nigeria freely.

If Igbos are being attacked in Lagos and every other place, posterity will judge Tinubu who can at least call MC Oluomo and his cohorts to order.

Every well-meaning Nigerian must condemn the video of MC Oluomo threatening the Igbos living in Lagos. Ordinarily, it is the right of every Nigerian to live anywhere in Nigeria and to vote for whoever he or she wishes to vote for, without being threatened or coerced.

Even the Governor of Lagos should condemn the video. H can't afford to play deaf at a time like this.

For the record, Tinubu's wife is from Itsekiri part of Delta State. His son is married to a Lebanese woman. It is even a fact that Tinubu himself is not even from Lagos State.
By these facts, Tinubu himself is a beneficiary of the accommodating nature of Nigerians, why then is MC Oluomo, his mentee in politics above caution on a matter as sensitive as this? Why exactly is Tinubu keeping quiet.

At this juncture, silence is no longer golden.

Tinubu must speak and he must speak now. He must make hay while the sun shines, as MC Oluomo is becoming a very big monster that must be curtailed already. The IG of police and the head of the DSS and all other security agencies in the country must on account of the recent video of MC Oluomo threatening Igbos in Lagos, take MC Oluomo into custody already to at least serve as deterrent to other thugs around the country, threatening Nigerians all over the place for whatsoever political reason.

Enough is enough, Tinubu must begin to act as a leader for all Nigerians. Tinubu must speak to his mentee, MC Oluomo, now, to call him to order, at least for the sake of the least decency expected of what a President of Nigeria should act like.

Religion / Leadership: The Dirty Job Done By Handsome Okwu by ogugwa1992: 8:08am On Mar 17, 2023
Leading a large team of leaders exposed me to a lot of unanticipated reactions and behaviours. At the initial phase, the struggle was with acceptance and then grew to sustenance. The dirty job of standing strong and being persistent to see that vision come to live is where the work lies.
If you have ever led a team of highly cerebral and effective people who seek to first understand before they follow, then I’m sure you are not a novice when it comes to such reactions. Preparing your first speech to address the team with so much effort just to be accepted by the team. Being overly nice the first week you meet the team that you tolerate what you naturally wouldn’t. The desire to be accepted by our teams influence our actions. After all, how effective will you be if you have a team that doesn’t accept you as their leader?
I had made enormous mistakes at the beginning of my journey as I assumed that the secret of good leadership was to be likable. That if I could get them to like me well enough, I’d get the best out of them soon enough. I was overly concerned with the idea of people liking me that I began to compromise standards by accommodating inefficiencies just so I don’t ruffle feathers.
As a leader, your first responsibility is to the vision. Vision should be the springboard for every decision and action. Being liked at the expense of vision should be handled as treason. Craig Groeschel  in his podcast -8 habits of great leaders Part 1, said, “A leader will be faced with the option of choosing the easy wrong or the hard right. Many leaders choose what is easy but great leaders ask what is right…. The difference between where you are and where you could be are the painful decisions you are avoiding”. I strongly recommend you go listen to that podcast.
You have to weigh the option of being liked with the purpose of fulfilling vision, then choose the hard right. A good leader makes hard decisions no one else is bold enough to make just because he knows it is the right thing to do. Sticking to the vision can sometimes be the dirty job leaders have to do. A leader lives above sentiments. Sentiments are healthy until they become a compromise to the achievement of the vision. Rewarding based on sentiments and not performance is a trap most leaders fall into- “She is a good girl, but with consistent performance below average”. However, you reward her with continuity because she is “a good girl”.
They may hate you because of your commitment to the vision. If you haven’t found something worth being hated for, then you have no reason to be liked. As a leader, your ability to stay true to the vision and inspire others to do the same is a dirty job you have to learn.
Don’t get me wrong, this conversation isn’t about turning you into a monster your team dread. Or you becoming undesirable to keep company. There is a balance to every doctrine.

Guidelines for striking a balance:

Here are a few simple guides to help strike a balance.

1. Value:
Focus on valuing people. This doesn’t guarantee a favorable response from them. Their response to that is not what you can control so if they respond favorably, good! It’s easier to determine how you respond to people than controlling how people respond to you. The proof of value you place on people is seen by the level of investment made in them. Don’t demand for a hand if you haven’t touched a heart. Your job as a leader is to value your team and in return, you get their heart.

2. Competence:
Being able to deliver on one’s promise/word is the credibility of competence. This is both to the team and to the leader. Rewarding competence will foster trust and improve the general health of your team. Be more concerned about promoting competence than likeability. Loyalty isn’t achieved by getting people to like you but getting them to trust you.

3. Respect:
Learn to respect people especially those you lead. The extent to which you respect your team will determine the general health of the team. Talking down on people is a negative way to inspire them to improve. Rather, show them the possibilities they can achieve if they do better. Sometimes, your behaviour may betray your intentions, however, you must seek ways to always reveal your true intentions in cases of misunderstanding. People will choose a leader who is honest enough over a leader who is always right.
We would like to hear what part resonates with you.

Religion / Healing Streams Live Healing Services With Pastor Chris - A Weekend Of Miracles by ogugwa1992: 8:00pm On Mar 16, 2023
Healing Streams Live Healing Services with Pastor Chris will take place this weekend from Friday 17 to Sunday 19, March 2023. Arguably the largest healing and miracle crusade on earth, with billions participating in physical and virtual centers all over the world, the program has become a phenomenon. In a world where most healthcare systems are overwhelmed by society’s demands and where many ailments defy medical solutions, these healing services provide the answer that many need today. With this being the seventh edition, billions of people eagerly anticipate a special time of healing, restoration, and wholeness. Registration is currently going on the program’s official website: healingstreams.tv/LHS.

The Live Healing Services are hallmarked with prayers and intercessions for the sick, thrilling moments of worship to God, impactful moments of revelations from the Bible, riveting testimonies, and chronicles of miracles. Many have remarkable stories to tell of how they received healing and the profound display of God’s love when participated in previous editions of Healing Streams.

Excruciating pains beset Stephanie a few days after she gave birth, putting a damper on her joy at the arrival of her baby. After much ado, it was discovered that a pair of scissors had been left in her abdomen during the cesarean section. Despite repeated surgeries to correct the situation, she found no relief. Rather, her agony increased until she was rendered incapable of anything and at death’s door. In this state, news of the Healing Streams reached her, bringing faith and hope. As Pastor Chris prayed for the sick during the Live Healing Services, Stephanie believed and received God’s Word for her healing and health. She received her miracle and is now full of strength and vigor.

On the 9th of December 2021, Vikel suddenly suffered double cardiac arrests and was in a coma for eight weeks. His waking up would have been a joyful occasion, except that it revealed brain damage and several complications such as being unable to walk and talk. Bedridden and dependent on modified food, a despairing Vikel faced a dismal future, until news of the healing services reached him. Although he was an atheist, he received faith and grasped the hope offered through the program. He received his healing during the July 2022 edition of Healing Streams Live Healing Services. Today, Vikel is back on his feet, his speech has been restored, and he can eat whatever he wants and do all the things he couldn't do before.

Angela was enjoying the beautiful sights of Greece on vacation with her family when she suddenly went under while swimming and heard a loud pop in her ears. Her eardrum had ruptured, leading to hearing loss. The next 13 years were filled with debilitating pain and excruciating headaches that left her frustrated and caused her to withdraw from society. Resolved to trust in Christ wholly when she heard about Healing Streams Live Healing Services, Angela participated and received her healing. Today, she has this to say: “My hearing is perfect. I don’t have to ask people to repeat themselves, so I don’t feel frustrated when talking to my family or colleagues anymore. It’s so liberating!”

At the services, all bear witness to God’s healing power demonstrated with signs and wonders. People from all walks of life and from every nation participate in the healing services with expectations of the miraculous, seeking deliverance from diverse diseases and ailments.

This Friday, an avalanche of healing miracles, blessings, and virtues will once again roll out over all connected to the healing services worldwide, bringing health and changing destinies. The dead will live again, the dumb will speak of God’s might, the lame will leap and dance for joy, and the blind will receive sight.

Speaking about the upcoming program, Pastor Chris said, "Anyone can be healed. No case will be too difficult, no one will be too bad for God’s love to reach.”

Already, many are putting things in place to ensure that they experience the blessings and outpouring of supernatural favor that the Live Healing Service promise. They pray daily for the sick and for those whom they have invited, they spend time inviting others and creating awareness for and about the program, they have created healing centers (physical and virtual spaces through which they share the program with others), and they give financially for the sponsorship of the global broadcast of the event as it features on the internet, as well as radio and TV stations all over the world.

The blessings and healing miracles have begun even now. You can receive your miracles this weekend, only believe. Watch and participate in the Healing Streams Live Healing Services with Pastor Chris from anywhere in the world and in your language.

The services will be broadcast live on www.healingstreams.tv, Loveworld Networks, and other TV and radio stations in many cities and countries. There are also healing centers in various locations near you, where you can participate.

Romance / Sex Tape Of Top Nigerian Editor Leaks Online by ogugwa1992: 7:19am On Mar 16, 2023
One of the top Editors at a leading Nigerian newspaper is currently enmeshed in a sex scandal.
The fellow who chairs the Editorial board of the newspaper which is seen as the voice of the north took a lady to one of the hotels situated few metres from the headquarters of the media outlet in Abuja.
The company he works for is arguably the most influential publication in Nigeria’s seat of power. It recently embarked on an expansion, including television (where the editor anchors a programme) and radio to its stable.
This media outlet publishes a weekly Hausa paper and a daily English paper.
According to sources, who shared pictures and videos with this publication, the Editor, said to be hot tempered mistakenly uploaded videos of his escapade on social media.
In one of the videos uploaded on WhatsApp, the Editor was seen having raw sex.
Although he concealed his face, some parts of his body and skin colour gave him out
It is not really clear how the video found its way to his status but the receipt of the hotel was uploaded alongside the money he transferred to the lady for her services.
The receipt showed that the fellow who was until a little over a year ago a lecturer in one of the northern universities owned by a Presidential Candidate in the last election, checked into the hotel at 10:40pm on the said date.
Apparently as a result of cash scarcity, all the payment were done electronically through his Jaiz Bank account.
While he was lucky to take down two of the controversial pictures and video, others spent 24 hours on his status, to the embarrassment of the fellow, whose name and surname are the same.
There were two Editors with same name and surname in the company, but one resigned a few months ago to take up appointment with the Presidential Candidate who later emerged overall winner of the election that is being contested in court.
Amid the barrage of calls and reprimands, the Editor in the eye of the storm claimed his phone was hacked.
However, the lid was blown when he used the same phone to send a disclaimer.
“I’ve deleted them on my phone but they are still available for others to view. I’m so sorry if you are viewing them too,” he had written 30 minutes.
Shortly after, he wrote, “What sort of tyranny is this? How could WhatsApp leave content on my status for others to view even after I have deleted them from my status?”
“It is possible that he was set up by the prostitute he hired. He might have been drugged while the sex scenes and receipts were uploaded to embarrass him,” a source in the know said.
Another said the man confessed to some persons close to him that he mistakenly uploaded the embarrassing act and could not delete easily because he is not tech savvy.
The company reportedly set up a disciplinary panel to investigate the action of the Editor who had his PhD abroad, but some powerful forces are said to be trying to give him soft-landing.
Notwithstanding the connection he has, subordinates are said to be mocking the Editor who swims in controversy.
Sources said he was fired from the university before he got a job as lower level staff at the newspaper but he used his connection to find his way to the top.
However, on the home front, the wife is said to be seeking divorce as a result of the shame and trauma.
The Editor has since sent emissary to help him placate his wife but things are yet to return to the way they are.
When contacted for reaction, the former lecturer hung up immediately he heard the direction of the discussion and switched off his phone immediately

Politics / Akpabio’s Lies And His Anti-party Mission Against APC By A Michael Jackson by ogugwa1992: 2:45pm On Mar 15, 2023
Few days ago, I stumbled on a disjointed article full of lies by Senator Godswill Akpabio's media hirelings in defence of my allegation of anti-party activities against the Senator. Sadly, while these amateur media urchins tried hard to point at the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Umana and former MD/CEO of Niger Delta Development Commission, HE Nsima Ekere, with their burnt fingers, they ended up further exposing their master, Senator Akpabio’s inherent character of blackmail and strife. Undeterred by their wailing, as a ready soldier of truth, while they tell their lies, I will continue to burst the lies and show them the truth.

Akpabio’s media hirelings said their self-acclaimed ethnic hero laboured day and night to educate people within his Senatorial District on “how to locate and vote for the party….” This claim is nothing but a hoax. Everybody within and outside knows Akpabio as a selfish person. How can a man who laboured day and night educating people on how to identify his party on the ballot garnered more votes than the President-elect he claimed to have laboured so much to garner votes for?

Looking closely at official presidential results on local government basis released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Akwa Ibom State on 26th February, it could be readily seen that Akpabio garnered 76,609 in seven local governments areas. Interestingly, in these same local government areas, the President-elect gathered only 57,530 votes. The question is, if truly Akpabio was campaigning for all the candidates in his Senatorial District and educating people on how to identify the party on the ballot, why did people vote more for Akpabio than even the President-elect he claimed he toiled day and night campaigning for? Is it not the same APC logo that was on both the Presidential and Senatorial District ballot papers? It therefore shows that Akpabio was only campaigning for himself not for others. This is how selfish Akpabio can be.

Akpabio's media babies also claimed that if Umana and Nsima had done more for the party the way Akpabio did, the election results would have been far batter in Akwa Ibom State. They claim if the duo had acted like their paymaster, they would not have only won their units but wards, local government areas and Senatorial Districts. This is fallacious and another desperate attempt to misrepresent facts.

Everyone is aware of the fact that Tinubu lost election in his ward and Ikeja local government where he voted. Would Akpabio’s boys also claim that because Tinubu did not do much as Akpabio did for APC that was why he failed election in his local government area?

Their claim that Umana and Nsima were busy fighting and encouraging Senator Ita Enang to file court cases against the Governorship candidate of APC rather than helping the party prepare to win elections, is nothing but a lie. However, these fools lack wisdom and suffer from selective amnesia, they fail to recall that on the 30th December, 2022, Umana hosted an enlarged reconciliation meeting with APC stakeholders including Senator Akpabio in his house, where he pleaded with all interest groups to sheath their swords and help get the party ready for election. He initiated the peace talks and single handedly funded the reconciliation after Akpabio’s divisive action had caused many to leave the party.

For the benefit of doubt, Umana pleaded with all present in the meeting, saying “let us move away from petty bickering and wrangling in the past. Now, we are to focus on the APC presidential rally while strategic steps are being taken to peacefully redress the protracted challenges in our party”.

In that same meeting, the Minister notified stakeholders of the Party that NEC had presented the name of Obong Akan Udofia to INEC as the Party’s candidate for the gubernatorial election, adding that the Party is only awaiting confirmation by the court for INEC to do the needful. This was published in the online edition of Vanguard newspaper, 1 January2023.https://www.vanguardngr.com/2023/01/umana-moves-to-restore-peace-unity-in-aibom-apc/. Right thinking members of the public would wonder why Akpabio is sounding sanctimonious now after he reportedly directed the APC candidate, Mr. Akan Udofia, to step down for YPP governorship candidate, Mr. Bassey Albert Akpan who was his former Commissioner for Finance.

Akwa Ibom people especially APC faithful are not unaware of Akpabio's gimmicks. He is obsessed with power and feels the only way to grab power is to cause others' downfall. To him blackmail is a permissible means to an end, at every point, when it backfires, he would leave others to clean the mess. APC has a wonderful chance to win the coming governorship election if only Akpabio will for once stop thinking about self and focus on the whole party.

Let it be known that even before Akpabio slithered into our party, Mr. Umana Okon Umana and HE Nsima Ekere had been at the forefront, uniting APC in Akwa Ibom State and pushing for its emergence as the ruling party. Evidently, Senator Akpabio only thinks of himself and as could be seen by his recent actions, he nearly brought disintegration at the eve of election.

In another childish assertion, the media boys claim that Akpabio “won his senatorial district for the party with over 30 percent of the votes cast at the presidential election, while Umana and Nsima could only muster a paltry seven percent of the total votes cast for the presidential candidate of the party.” This is another lie taken too far.

A simple calculation of the election results will destroy this tissue of lies meant to assassinate other people’s character. The President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu had 160,620 votes from Akwa Ibom State. Akpabio, in seven local governments within his Senatorial District as announced by INEC, mustered a total votes of 57,530, it therefore means that the remaining 103,090 votes for the President-elect came from Uyo and Eket Senatorial Districts. Why then should these media thieves claimed Akpabio gave Tinubu thirty percent of the total votes cast in Akwa Ibom State while Umana and Nsima only churned out 7percent? This is nothing but a despicable lie told by dull witted felloow. One wonders what Senator Godswill Akpabio aims to achieve with these cheap lies.

I would once again encourage the likes of Jackson Udom, Joe Iniedu and Anietie Ekong to continue using a faceless group and fictitious names to feed the public with lies. I understand this is how they earn their keep. Well, I will be waiting for another set of lies from them.

Politics / Akpabio - OBA Secret Pact Exposed - As Allies Endorsed YPP Guber Candidate by ogugwa1992: 4:32pm On Mar 12, 2023
By Edidiong Ekpo

The secret pact between the Senator -elect for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Sen Godswill Akpabio and the governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) has finally become public knowledge.

This was made known yesterday, Friday 10th March, 2023, when one of Senator Akpabio's allies, DIG (Rtd) Udom Ekpo Udom, played host to the YPP candidate at his country home in Etim Ekpo LGA.

Udom while addressing the YPP candidate said that the entire Akpabio's political structure had signed a pact with Sen Bassey Albert on the eve of the last Presidential and National Assembly elections to work together to deliver victory to Sen Akpabio in return for his support for OBA.

Reacting to the development, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikot Ekpene LGA, Atuekong Ekerette Inokon Essien said it was crystal clear to "all concerned APC stakeholders in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District that Sen Akpabio has signed a pact with Sen Bassey Albert Akpan of the YPP"

Mr. Essien further revealed that Sen Akpabio's activities along with his cohorts in recent weeks had shown that Akpabio was not committed to the APC and its gubernatorial candidate ahead of the 2023 governorship election.

"We have been made aware of an agreement entered into between Sen Akpabio/his political structure and the YPP Guber Candidate, which delivered victory to Sen Akpabio in the last National Assembly elections "

"Senator Akpabio in exchange for the YPP's gesture has directed his supporters in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District and the State at large to work for the emergence of Sen OBA as the governor of Akwa Ibom State ", he said.

Mr. Inokon added that Obong Akanimo Udofia need to know that Sen Akpabio is not committed and interested in his aspiration.

"In the first instance, why has Sen Akpabio abandoned Akan Udofia's campaigns since the Senator -elect won his election into the Senate?".

Recall that immediately after Sen Akpabio won his election, he summoned Obong Akanimo Udofia to a meeting with Sen OBA in attendance at Abuja and pressured Akan Udofia to step down for OBA, Mr. Inokon stated.

If you check around, all known Sen Akpabio's loyalists such as Sir Etekamba Umoren, Don Etim, Rtd DIG Udom Ekpo Udom, Da Zion Umoh, Rachel Nse, Iniobong John, Michael Ekpo, Blessing Ossom, Edu Offong, etc, are all publicly campaigning and soliciting votes for the emergence of Sen OBA as the next governor of Akwa Ibom State"

The APC chieftain called on the National leadership of the party to urgently call Sen Akpabio to order and look into his anti-party activities and that of his loyalists in order to avert the impending defeat awaiting the APC in the State if the situation is not checked.

He also advised Sen Akpabio to desist from blackmailing other leaders and chieftains of the party as one tree cannot make a forest.

Politics / The Anti Party Activities Of Godswill Akpabio By Michael Jackson by ogugwa1992: 12:54pm On Mar 10, 2023
Zion Umoh, Senator Godswill Akpabio’s die-hard supporter, in a weak attempt to cover up for Akpabio’s anti party activities, has accused some stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC of not doing anything to deliver Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the last election.

Zion Umoh should know that Akpabio was a candidate in the last National Assembly elections while Umana Umana and Nsima Ekere were not candidates in the elections. So it was within Akpabio’s demand to do everything within his power to win election as well as curry support for other candidates who stood elections also.

Perhaps, Zion Umoh should be informed that notable leaders including serving governors failed their elections and some did not even win in their units. Akpabio and his faction exclusively picked candidates for the National Assembly positions in Uyo and Eket Senatorial districts without the involvement the duo who are leaders of those districts.

The candidates picked by Akpabio did not campaign and Akpabio did not release funds for their campaigns as he had previously promised. It was gathered that two days to the elections, Akpabio called a joint meeting of his faction of the APC and the leaders and members of the YPP and Labour Party and directed that they should collectively vote for APC in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District while they should vote for the YPP and Labour Party in Uyo and Ikot Ekpene Senatorial Districts. Akpabio undermined the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and the former NDDC Managing Director when his faction produced all the National Assembly candidates in Uyo, Eket and Ikot Ekpene Senatorial Districts.

At that time he had assured the national leadership of APC that his factional candidates will win the elections in the whole State. Today, after Akpabio sabotaged the APC in Uyo and Eket Senatorial Districts by abandoning his candidates, he is sponsoring blackmail against senior stakeholders in Uyo and Eket Senatorial District . Does it mean Akpabio is no longer the uncommon former governor and uncommon leader in Akwa Ibom State or is he now a sectional leader whose influence is limited to Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District?

The two APC leaders should be commended for ensuring that despite Akpabio’s actions to undermine and sabotage the APC in Uyo and Eket Senatorial Districts, the two districts still contributed votes that made it possible for our Presidential Candidate to exceed the constitutional requirement of having a minimum of 25 percent of the votes. This would have been impossible with the votes from Akpabio’s senatorial district alone. In all fair judgment, it is now clear that Akpabio was working hard to ensure that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will not meet the 25 percent vote’s requirement in Akwa Ibom State.

It is common knowledge that Akpabio has seriously undermined the APC through his alliance and open support for the YPP Governorship candidate. Everybody knows that Akpabio also planted his former aide one Uduak Udoh as the governorship candidate of the Labour Party and Akpabio has single-handedly funded the Labour Party in Akwa Ibom State. Akpabio recently made a futile attempt to convince leaders of the APC in Abuja to persuade the candidate of APC Obong Akan Udofia to step down for Bassey Albert of the YPP who was his Commissioner for Finance when Akpabio was Governor. APC leaders and members are not fools. The write up by Zion Umoh which calls for support for Bassey Albert of the YPP is consistent with Akpabio’s anti party stance and directive to his faction of the APC to vote for YPP. He has also directed his surrogate in the Labour Party-Uduak Udo- to mobilize members of the Labour Party to support the YPP Candidate.

Politics / Group urges Tinubu To Intervene In APC crisis in plateau by ogugwa1992: 2:16pm On Mar 07, 2023
Plateau 2023 -

Accuses APC critical stakeholders of large scale anti party

All Progressives Congress (APC) group in Plateau state has called on the party’s National leaders to intervene in the crisis in the state chapter before the governorship election which is to set to hold on Saturday.

The group added that most of this stakeholders in the APC worked against the party in the recently conducted Presidential election conducted in the state .

The group operating under the aegis of Youths for Positive Change in Plateau alleged that several stakeholders in the state including the Minister , a House of representatives as well as several other leaders including aspirants of the party who lost out in the primaries in the state are ganging up to ensure that the party Governorship Candidate Dr Nentawe Yilwatda loses the election on Saturday.

The group led by Lazarus Samson Atang in a statement said we call on the leadership of the party ,led by Senator Adullahi Adamu to intervene .

" We call on the President elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu to also call aggrieved members especially aspirants to other as they are all involve in anti party activities ."

As a group we can not pretend and say all is well ,we need the intervention of the President elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu and members of the APC in Plateau

Politics / Group Tells APC To Expel Tallen, komsol For Working Against Party In Plateau by ogugwa1992: 8:57am On Mar 05, 2023
Exposed - Minister Tallen, Rep Komsol in Trouble as Group insists on their expulsion for working against APC in Plateau State.

With barely a week to the Gubernatorial polls in the country, a Political group within the All Progressive Congress APC in Plateau State has called for the immediate suspension and expulsion of the Minster of women affairs Dame Paul Tallen and Hon. Komsol Alphonsus Longgaap the Member, representing Mikang, Qua'an-Pan Shendam Federal constituency.

The group, Plateau APC Political Intervention Coalition, APCPPIC in a statement issued on Saturday and signed by Bulus Jerry Ajang and Gonzuk Peter Lawrence said they have incontrovertible evidence that Dame Tallen and Hon. Komsol did not only vote for the opposition against the APC and President elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Lalong and all the candidates of the party, but also actively supported the opposition with funds, mobilisation and logistics.

The furious grouo also raised the alarm that the Minster of Women Affairs Dame Tallen and Hon Komsol Alphonsus Longgaap are allegely planning to work for the opposition party in the forthcoming governorship and House of assembly polls the same way they did in the Presidential and national assembly elections.

"To us both Tallen and Komsol have long left the APC in their minds but remained on paper to cause damage only. They have never shown up for any party meeting or campaign throughout the process leading to this election and instead of them leaving the party, remained to cause damage through anti party activities. They have lost the trust and confidence of APC members in Plateau State as they both worked against the APC in the recently conducted election. We want them to formally be expelled to enable them work better for their opposition choice".

They called on members of the ruling party across the country to distance themselves from both Tallen and Komsol alleging that they are secretly working for the APC to lose the forthcoming polls, but also scheming to get favour from the President elect by lying their way that they worked for him whereas the opposite is the case.

"We find it very disgusting and disheartening but not surprising that Dame Tallen who worked against Tinubu and the APC candidates has run to Abuja to congratulate Asiwaju and in her usual character begging for appointment. We are apphaled that she is claiming to have worked and thus desperate to be appointed Minister or SGF because of women and the North Central Zone. She should be ashamed of herself for playing such cheap politics for decades without contributing anything".

APCPPIC says it stands by the press conference of a group operating under the aegis of Concerned APC Youths in Shendam local government of Plateau state who recently accused the Minister of Women affairs Dame Pauline Kedem Tallen and Hon. Komsol Alphonsus Longgap, of colluding with the Candidates of other political parties to frustrate APC Candidates and work against the APC in the forthcoming governorship polls.

"We agree with the APC group in Shendam hundred percent which alleged that it is no longer hidden to party members in Plateau that both Tallen and Komsol are deliberately worked against the APC '"

The group called on the President elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to have any dealings with this two stakeholders who do not mean well for the APC in Plateau and the nation in general, recalling that these same gang including the Former Minister Dasuki Nakande and Chief Gizo were the ones who went to meet same Tinubu to run down Governor Lalong after the APC Presidential primaries but were gravely ignored and disgraced when Asiwaju picked Governor Lalong as his DG Campaign.

"Plateau is an APC state and we would not continue to tolerate those working against the interest of the party in the state like they did in the Presidential elections. The APC is set to deliver all Candidates of the party in the Gubernatorial election and we would no longer tolerate those working against it's interest
