Single mom Jerelyn James' life took a drastic turn for the worse one fateful night in 2018 when she was attacked in her home by armed assailants. The assault left her with a broken spine, paralyzed, and in a world of excruciating. Multiple surgeries, months of hospital stays, and treatments later, Jerelyn's debilitating condition was unchanged and continued to deteriorate. "My children had to carry me like a baby to use the toilet, urinate, bathe, feed, and more for five years. I was in such terrible pain and had to take lots of medication. I couldn't sit upright without help or do anything for myself. It was a bleak time; I was in such despair that I even asked God what I was living for?" she recounts.
Puzzled at the lack of results, Jerelyn's case was brought to the attention of a top-notch team of local and international doctors, who eventually recommended that she be flown outside her country posthaste for another surgery. She was advised that the probability of success was iffy at best because most of her organs were severely damaged. It was in this state that news of the Healing Streams reached her. Her moment of divine intervention came as she watched the program from her home in Liberia. When Pastor Chris declared, "Receive strength; you are healed to the global audience, she recalls she felt a burst of strength that propelled her to her feet for the first time in years.
"I stood up almost instantly, and everything, including my spine, was straight. I never felt that way in my life before. God healed me perfectly. All the bed sores and symptoms have disappeared, and today I am whole!" – she affirms.
Just like Jerelyn, Ignatius Da Silver from Pune, India, suddenly suffered a brain hemorrhage one night that left him incapacitated with a loss of memory, coordination, and speech. Diagnosed with left hemorrhagic stroke and fatty liver disease, Ignatius could not walk unaided, suffered numbness in his face, was plagued by insomnia and bowel incontinence, could not coordinate his limbs, had trouble speaking and comprehending, was constantly nauseous, underweight and more.
All recourse to find a lasting cure medically proved futile until he heard about the Healing Streams Live Healing Services and attended the program, expecting a miracle. His moment of total restoration came when the man of God, Pastor Chris, called out his name and commanded healing to his body. Instantly, something passed out of my body, and I knew I was healed! My skin was glowing, and the severe pain was gone as if it had never existed. -Ignatius narrates. Today, Ignatius is living proof that the Word of God is true. He can control his bowels, run, walk, talk, eat well, comprehend perfectly, and do all he couldn't do before.
Testimonies like Ignatius and Jerelyn's abound of countless people whose faith in God's word and His power yielded such remarkable healing miracles that, to date, they still confound the minds of men and the predictions of medical science. You, too, can receive your miracle! It doesn't matter how long, impossible, or dire the situation or illness is. God's Word is supreme, and the name of Jesus Christ has all authority to eradicate any ailment and turn every situation around for your good. All you have to do is believe!
The program will be streamed Live on www.healingstreams.tv in all languages and will also air on all Loveworld networks, major local terrestrial TV, and radio stations globally. Politics / Oil Theft: Nuj Confers Meritorious Internal Security Award On Tompolo by ogugwa1992: 5:06pm On Mar 03
••• AS TSSL CHAIRMAN RESTATES DETERMINATION TO FIGHT OIL THEFT

The Nigeria Union of Journalists has conferred its Internal Security Meritorious Award on the Chairman of Tantita Security Services, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo.

The national President of the NUJ, Chief Chris Isiguzo, said that the award was in recognition of the sterling contribution of Tompolo and his firm, TSSL, to the critical campaign against crude oil theft in the country.

Recently, Tantita Security Services Limited working alongside the Navy, the Police, the NSCDC, and others has, intensified the campaign against the theft of the nation’s oil resources arresting and ensuring the forfeiture of vessels used in committing the crime.

Isiguzo led the national leadership of the NUJ to confer the award on Tompolo in Oporoza, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Delta State on Saturday.

He stressed that the country would have been in some trouble without the patriotic efforts of Tompolo.

Isiguzo said that this was the first time the NUJ in its history would be conveying the Internal Security Meritorious Award of the union on anybody.

The NUJ leader explained further that the Internal Security Meritorious Award was the only award approved during its National Security Conference in Abuja and it was given to Tompolo.

He said, “Somebody has risen to the occasion and gathered an array of young men who have taken it upon themselves to help this country continue to survive as a peaceful nation, united and continuing to fend for its people.

"And that is the man that has, to a very large extent, substantially, helped us address the issue of crude oil theft.

"That is one thing that has occupied our national life over time. By his commitment, dedication and diligence, Nigeria, as a country, has to a very large extent, reduced the activities of men of the underworld who have consistently engaged in pilfering, taking our common patrimony for their personal gains.

"The NUJ, having assessed the activities of TSSNL, has decided that we must accord the necessary recognition to the man who carries the flag, birthed this security organization, who has exceptionally distinguished himself.

"The NUJ has come to the Oporoza Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom to honour a distinguished son of the Niger Delta; a general in his own right who has distinguished himself, ensures and maintains an appreciable level of internal security.

"We have come to confer on him, the Internal Security Meritorious Award of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.

"In the course of the national security conference, held in Abuja, only one award had been approved and it is conferred on Dr. Government Ekpemupolo.

"I'm also excited that I'm doing this after 61 years of the existence of the NUJ, this award is coming up at this time.

"It is not just an honour to Tompolo but also an honour to me too. It is an honour to all of us and what that means is that the issue of insecurity is not just the responsibility of government but of every Nigerian.

"When you provide information, and intelligence to security operatives and agencies, you have contributed in some measures to reducing the problem of insecurity in the land.

"So, it is a collective responsibility, and all hands must be on deck to ensure we address our problems.

"If Nigeria is peaceful, every part of the country, including your household, will be peaceful and that will give birth to development and progress.

He recalled that the Union’s National Security Conference meant to examine the worsening security situation in the country was attended by former Inspector General of Police, and Chairman Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Dr. Solomon Arase, the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, and a diverse segment of Nigerians.

Isiguzo said that a position paper of the conference on the issue of security will be transmitted to President Bola Tinubu.

In his reaction, the Chairman of Tantita Security Services Limited, Chief Government Ekpemupolo restated his promise to end the criminal theft of the nation’s crude oil resources in the Niger Delta region.

He stressed that the country was in serious need of concerted support to stop the activities of those sabotaging the economy for personal gains.

The NUJ President had in his entourage, the National Secretary of NUJ, Shuaibu Leman and Delta state NUJ Chairman, Churchill Oyowe and others.

Politics / Edun Panel Seeks Removal Of SIP From Humanitarian Ministry To Finance by ogugwa1992: 11:31am On Mar 02
Economic Hardship: Nigerians Face More Woes as Wale Edun Transfers Social Investment Programmes to Finance Ministry

Amidst the ongoing economic challenges in Nigeria, more troubles seem to be brewing as Wale Edun, the minister of finance, has relocated the National Social Investment Programmes (NSIP) from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation to the Ministry of Finance and Coordinating Economy.

The move by Edun has ignited controversy, especially in light of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's earlier directive to investigate the activities under the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, aiming to address the current challenges faced by the nation.

In an interim report seen by TheCable on Saturday, the panel recommended that the programmes should be resumed to alleviate the sufferings of poor and vulnerable Nigerians, but that a new board under the leadership of Edun should oversee the social investment programmes.

“Convene a steering committee/board under the leadership of the Hon. Minister of Finance and coordinating Minister of the economy to oversee the coordination of programmes,” it reads in part.

“Determine the future of the NSIPA by advocating for a proper review and amendment of the NSIPA act.”

Leaders.ng also gathered that Edun is currently withholding funds approved and released by the Federal Government for the 2024 Hajj Commission.

Insiders claim that Edun's actions are driven by an expectation of kickbacks, leaving intending pilgrims to bear the brunt of daily increases in Hajj fares.

Politics / Nigerians Will Appreciate Tinubu’s Administration After Reforms - Barau Umar by ogugwa1992: 6:22pm On Mar 01
Nigerians Will Appreciate Tinubu’s Administration After Reforms, Says Abdulhafiz Barau Umar

A renowned businessman, Abdulhafiz Umar Barau, has said that Nigerians will appreciate the Tinubu administration when the reform programmes start yielding positive results.

Abdulhafiz Umar Barau, a Diaspora businessman, further says that removing the subsidy is the best option for Nigeria’s economy to survive a complete collapse.

In an exclusive interview with our Reporters, Barau appealed to Nigerians to be patient with Tinubu’s government while noting that the economic reform policies won’t yield results in a short time frame.”

“So far, so good, I think we should all be patient. His efforts will yield fruit. You can see the dollar rate is coming down now. I believe everything will stabilise soon,” Barau told our Reporters in a chat.

“From the look of things, what the government has done in the last three days, setting up the Economic Advisory Council, and trying to implement the Steve Oronsaye report on the reform of the civil service.

“The three actions taken collectively aim to control FOREX as it was seven months ago. I really want to think that everything will eventually return to normal. There is every expectation that everything will return to normal.

“No one is immune to adversity; you cannot claim to be immune to it despite your wealth or position in society. Nigerians ought to never give up,” he stated.

“They should give the government a bit of space,” Barau continued. In the upcoming week or two, let’s see what transpires.

“I want to believe that definitely something positive will come out.”

Politics / More Communities To Join In Suit Seeking Sack Of Ebie As NDDC Chairman by ogugwa1992: 10:18pm On Feb 28
Some communities in Delta State have indicated interest to join in a suit seeking the removal of Mr Chiedu Ebie as Chairman of the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Recall that some communities in Bayelsa State had asked a Federal High Court in Abuja, to nullify the appointment of Mr Chiedu Ebie as NDDC boss, on the grounds that he was wrongly appointed by President Bola Tinubu.

According to the plaintiffs, Ebie was not qualified to occupy the seat of Board Chairman haven not come from, "the oil producing area with the highest
quantum of oil production".

The plaintiffs, Chief Goodnews Gereghewei, Chief Eddy Brayei and Mr Jonah Engineyouwei, who sued on behalf of themselves and Bisangbene, Agge and Amatu1 communities in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, had dragged President Tinubu, Senate President, Attorney-General of the Federation, NDDC and Ebie as 1st to 5th respondents respectively to court over the appointment of the NDDC board chairman.

At the last sitting earlier in the month, Justice Joyce Abdulmalik fixed March 12, for hearing, after confirming service of the suit on all respondents.

However, some oil producing communities in the Gbaramatu Kingdom in Delta State, have indicated that they will soon commence formal process to be joined as an interested party in the suit.

In a statement over the weekend, the communities said the move is to register their displeasure over the way and manner in which President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Mr. Chiedu Ebie as the NDDC Board Chairman.

Mr Jerry Mulade-Aroh, who spoke on behalf of Host Communities after a meeting in Warri, Delta State said, "we were extremely happy to find out that our neighbouring Oil producing communities in Bayelsa State has challenged the faulty process leading to the appointment of Mr. Chiedu Ebie as the Board Chairman of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in Federal High Court at Abuja.

"Mr. Chiedu Ebie hails from Agbor-Alidinma Community in Ika South Local Government area, Delta State. It is imperative to state that Mr Chiedu, community, has no functional and producing oil wells that qualified him to be appointed as Chairman in line with the NDDC act 2000.

"We from the Delta Oil producing communities are interested parties in this matter, and we are set to file for joinder in that suit. And we shall always organize a protest to that effect in Abuja to draw the attention of Mr President and the general public particularly Niger Delta.

Also speaking, Mr Jolomi Itsekure, who spoke on behalf of Itsekiri Oil and Gas producing communities in the State, described the appointment as an injustice, oppression, and a wrong precedent that should not be allowed to stand.

"Our rights and opportunities can not be used as political compensation. Therefore, we call on Mr. President to withdraw his appointment and follow due process.

"Furthermore, we have qualified persons from the core Oil Producing communities who have the requisite qualification in line with the guidelines set out in the NDDC Act 2000 for such an executive appointment.

Hon Friday Ugedi, a youth leaders from Egbema Kingdom in Warri North LGA, asserted that "This are some of the major reasons and causes of unrest in the region by imposing unqualified persons from non oil and gas producing areas to govern us simply because we don’t have godfathers", he added.

In the suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/28/2024, dated and filed January 11, 2024, the plaintiffs are claiming that both President Tinubu and the National Assembly contravened the NDDC Act by screening and appointing Ebie Chiedu as NDDC Board Chairman.

They submitted that although the 5th defendant is from an oil producing State " thus by the provisions of the law he is unqualified for
appointment as the chairman of the 4th defendant's board because his not from the highest oil producing areas.

In the affidavit deposed to in support of the suit, the plaintiffs averred that Ebie's appointment "was done in error and is against the clear provisions of the law.

"That the screening and confirmation of the 5th defendant by the Nigerian Senate was also done in error and was against the clear provisions of the law.

"That as a result of the facts above and in particular the facts in paragraphs 2 - 11, the appointment of the 5th defendant is null, void and of no effect".

The plaintiffs through their lawyer, B. B. Abalaba, are therefore asking the court to determine whether the 5th defendant who is from a community with minimal oil production is qualifed to be the chairman of the 4th defendant (Niger Delta Development
Commission)?

Other issues raised for determination are: Whether the appointment of the 5th defendant by the 1st defendant as the chairman of the 4th defendant is not in contravention of the NDDC Act?

"Whether the appointment of the 5th defendant by the 1st defendant as the chairman of the 4th defendant is not Illegal null and void?

They therefore prayed the court for an order "setting aside the appointment of the 5th defendant as the chairman of the
4th defendant by the 1s defendant.

"An order of injunction restraining the 5th defendant from assuming office or in any way acting as the chairman of the 4th defendant.

"An order of injunction restraining the 4th defendant from recognizing the 5th
defendant as its chairman or allowing him access into its premises for the purpose of beginning or continuing work as its chairman.

"An order of injunction restraining the 5th defendant from holding himself out as the chairman of the 4th defendant".

Politics / Akwa Ibom Insecurity: Ibeno Under Siege As Eket, Esit Eket Strike by ogugwa1992: 8:57am On Feb 28

Residents of Ibeno Local Government Area have called out for help against the destruction of life and property meted on them by the people of Eket and Esit Eket Local Government Areas under the aegis of Coalition of Coastal Aboriginal Communities of Akwa Ibom.

The call was sequel to the invasion and attack on Ibeno people in the early hour of Tuesday, February 27, 2024, by members of the Coalition.

Verified information has it that before a team of Policemen and other security agencies could intervene and stop an arson attempt on Mobil filling station along QIT Road, Ibeno, own by one Samuel Ekpenyong, the invaders have killed three persons, maimed many others and burnt down over 24 houses including Four Square Church in Iwuachang, a community in Ibeno.

A resident of Iwuoachang, Mr. Ekpo Emmanuel, has alleged that “the invasion and attack is sponsored by the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Frank Archibong, the Chairmen of Eket and Esit Eket, Mr. Akaninyene Tommey and Engr. Iniobong Robson; the National President of Ekid People Union (EPU), Dr Samuel Udonsak, and the Paramount Ruler of Eket, Chief ECD Abia.”

Mr. Emmanuel also said “I challenged any of the aforementioned to prove me wrong. We have done our investigations and every ground work and we have concrete evidences. We appeal to our dear Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, not to toe the path of his predecessor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, who created the whole problem through his remapping agenda.”

Another resident, Mr. Otukere Okon, in his argument said “the incident was carefully planned for and executed. Why will you, in the name of protest, blocked the only access routes to community, invade and attack the people, claiming that you are protesting the non-implementation of government policies? Wouldn’t the House of Assembly or the Judiciary Headquarters or Government House have been a better ground for protest, if the intention was genuine and sincere?”

“There is more to it and we, the people and residents of Ibeno local government area, are calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to come to our aid. It is a planned delineation of the Obolo people from Akwa Ibom State. We know those playing the drum of war. They must be stopped now before it escalates,” he explained.

This was further confirmed by a leaked circular signed by Dr Udonsak on February 26, 2024, “Good Morning All. The destruction of blocks at Esit Urua and the assault on the Transition Chairman of Eket LGA when he went to assess the damage by Ibeno youths as well as other acts of victimization of Ekid people by ungrateful settlers were reported to the Coalition of Coastal Aboriginal LGA Assembly. The Assembly resolved to impose a total blockade of Ibeno and Eastern Obolo settlers at Esit Urua, Edo, Onna, Mkpat Enin and Ikot Abasi to press for our rights. In compliance, the Union effected a total blockade at Edo and Esit Urua by 2.am this morning, towards a 2000-Man indefinite peaceful protest. We have to reiterate that this is a peaceful protest, and nobody should test our resolve to press for our rights. I call on every son and daughter of Ekid to support this exercise in any manner possible.”

Recall that Dr Udonsak, through a kangaroo publication, assured that there will be protest “holding simultaneously at locations of Esit Urua Village in Eket Local Government Area and Edo Group of Villages in Esit Eket Local Government Area. The protest shall continue until all demands of the Aboriginal Communities are met by the Government.

According to that publication, Dr Udonsak cautioned Government against the use of force to disperse the angry protesters insisting that “any attempt at forceful evacuation of the protesters shall yield unpleasant results.”

Investigation has revealed that the agenda of the Coalition, which is made up of Eket, Esit Eket, ONNA, and Ikot Abasi Local Government Areas, is with deep political colorations targeted at the Federal Constituency seat in 2027.

Part of the Coalition attempt, which is against the existence of Ibeno as a local government area, is to arm-twist Governor Umo Eno to “implement all Judicial rulings on matters concerning the Stubb creek, implement to the fullest all recommendations of the Akwa Ibom State Elders Council Committee which includes the removal of all illegal structures from the Stubb Creeks, creation of access roads to the Atlantic Ocean for all the five Littoral Local Government Areas amongst others.”

Speaking shortly after a security meeting with state director of the Department of State Service and other sister agencies, the Transition Committee Chairman of Ibeno, Hon. Emma Ibok, confirmed the incident and said he was taking inventory of casualties and the level destruction.

Hon. Ibok said “the invaders have destroyed lots of properties in Ibeno. So many people have been hospitalized and we are yet to confirm the actual number of casualties. I am going from one hospital to the other to ascertain it. I have been told that some people were killed but I am trying to verify it.”

Explaining further, Hon. Ibok said “They have stationed some policemen here but the problem we have as a community is that the moment people excuse themselves at night to rest, the invaders will attack. So, we can tell if they are working with the police or the security of Ibeno people is sabotaged.”

All efforts to speak with Mr. Akanyene Tommey of Eket Local Government Council and his Esit Eket counterpart, Engr. Iniobong Robson proved abortive as they neither took calls nor returned messages.

The State Government’s position on the matter was stated through a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ini Ememobong, was a call for “peace to reign to avoid loss of lives and damage to property.”

The statement maintained that “While Government recognizes that this conflict is rooted in heritage claims which date back to pre-independence times, it is constrained by the subsisting court actions on the same subject matter. It is the position of the State Government that until all these cases are resolved, nothing will be done in support or against the map.”

“In the interim, we urge all the parties to either await the judgement of the court, or explore peaceful means in resolving their issues. It is noteworthy that Government will north surrender her primary duty of protecting lives and property, for any reason. Politics / Memo Shows Tinubu Disbanded Jim Obazee-Committee In December by ogugwa1992: 2:06pm On Feb 26
News Direct has obtained a leaked memo President Bola Ahmed Tinubu wrote on November 29 2023, directing the Jim Obazee-led committee to conclude their investigation and submit the final report on or before Friday, December 1, 2023.

President Tinubu appointed Obazee as a Special Investigator to probe the activities of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in July 2023.

At the time, Tinubu said the appointment of Obazee, relying on the fundamental objective outlined in Section 15(5) of the Nigerian constitution, was in furtherance of his administration’s anti-corruption fight.

Obazee was also mandated to report directly to the president.

The letter from President Tinubu emphasized the urgency of finalizing the investigation within the given timeframe.

Recall that Daily Nigerian had reported that despite the committee’s disbandment, Obazee has continued its duties in what appears to be an unconstitutional manner, well beyond the specified date for concluding its work.

In the letter titled: ‘Expeditious conclusion of the Special Investigation into the Operations of the Central Bank of Nigeria’, the President stated:’

“Sequel to your appointment in July 2023, as Special Investigator to investigate the Central Bank of Nigeria and Related Entities, I have taken note of your efforts and appreciate your dedication.

“I am confident in the impartiality and thoroughness of your investigation. I thank you for upholding the principles that underpin our nation’s financial system.

“However, there is need to conclude this investigation expeditiously to enable the leadership of the Central Bank carry on its vibrant reforms.

“The findings of this inquiry will not only contribute to the immediate corrective actions needed but will also provide invaluable insights for enhancing the Bank’s operations and corporate governance.

“You are, therefore, required to submit your final report to be on or before Friday, December 1, 2023, for consideration and implementation.

“I trust that the conclusion of this investigation will pave the way for robust and effective Central Bank, aligning with our shared vision for economic stability and growth.”

Politics / Ribadu Summons CBN Investigator, Jim Obazee, Orders Return Of All Govt Property by ogugwa1992: 6:02am On Feb 26
After DAILY NIGERIAN exclusive report on the alleged intimidation by Jim Obazee, the Special Investigator appointed by President Bola Tinubu to probe former CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele, the Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA, has reportedly summoned the leader of the president team.

This newspaper had reported how some top officials at the CBN and other commercial banks alleged witch-hunt and undue intimidation by Mr Obazee’s team, even after his mandate had since expired.

Mr Tinubu, in a letter dated July 28, 2023, had named Mr Obazee, the former Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, FRC, as the special investigator for the apex bank.

Mr Obazee and his team had submitted their report to the president, indicting the embattled former CBN governor of misappropriation of fund through contract scam and other frauds.

After submitting the report, Mr Obazee’s presidential mandate expired on Friday, December 1, 2023 through a letter sighted by DAILY NIGERIAN correspondent.

In the letter, dated November 29, 2023, and titled: ‘Expeditious conclusion of the Special Investigation into the Operations of the Central Bank of Nigeria’, the President directed the committee to submit their final report on or before Friday, December 1, 2023.

However, DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that months after the expiration of his presidential mandate, Mr Obazee’s team was allegedly carrying out unauthorized raids.

But sources at the ONSA told our reporter that Mr Obazee was summoned after the report.

According to the source, Mr Obazee was asked to return all government property in possession, halting all operations of the team.

“Jim Obazee and his team were summoned on Friday by Office of the National Security Adviser and was asked return all government property in his possession. This includes the official vehicles given to him to aid his operations, and others.

"He was stripped of all his powers and the presidential mandate as the CBN investigator so to speak,” the source disclosed.

However, the ONSA’s Head of Strategic Communication, Zakari U. Mijinyawa, did not return our reporter’s call at the time of filing this report.

Politics / President Tinubu, There Should Be No Sacred Cow In The Fight Against Corruption. by ogugwa1992: 4:23pm On Feb 23
By Afeez Adegbayi

In the relentless pursuit of transparency, accountability, and the eradication of corruption, no individual should be considered above the law. This principle is foundational to a just and equitable society where the rule of law prevails.

The recent allegations surrounding Jim Obazee, the former Special Investigator appointed by President Bola Tinubu to probe the Central Bank of Nigeria, underscore the urgency of upholding these values without compromise.

A recent report by Daily Nigerian revealed how Obazee appears to be on a personal vendetta, blackmailing, intimidating and extorting government officials, particularly those associated with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), even after submitting his final report on December 1, 2023. This is unacceptable.

President Tinubu's commitment to fighting corruption has been a focal point of his leadership, and his call for accountability has resonated across the nation. However, recent events suggest a deviation from this path, with the alleged actions of Jim Obazee raising concerns about overreach and misconduct.

In the fight against corruption, there must be no sacred cows. The credibility of any anti-corruption campaign hinges on its ability to hold everyone accountable, regardless of status or affiliation. President Tinubu's legacy as a crusader against graft is at stake, and decisive action is imperative to restore public confidence in the anti-corruption drive.

The allegations against Jim Obazee include harassment, invasion of privacy, and intimidation of individuals associated with the Central Bank of Nigeria, even after the expiration of his investigative mandate. If proven true, these actions represent a flagrant disregard for due process and the rule of law. President Tinubu must address these allegations promptly.

President Tinubu has, in the past, emphasized the need for a corruption-free Nigeria. His words, "Corruption is a cancer that eats away at the fabric of our society," reflect a deep commitment to eradicating this societal ill. To maintain the credibility of his anti-corruption stance, President Tinubu must ensure that those entrusted with investigative mandates operate within the confines of the law.

In the words of President Tinubu, "We must remain vigilant and steadfast in our commitment to rooting out corruption at all levels." This commitment must extend to addressing any perceived abuses within the anti-corruption apparatus. Failure to do so would undermine the essence of the fight against corruption and set a dangerous precedent.

President Tinubu must invoke the full weight of his authority to investigate the allegations against Jim Obazee thoroughly. As guardians of justice and advocates for good governance, we must insist on a thorough and transparent inquiry into the actions of the former Special Investigator.

In conclusion, the fight against corruption demands unwavering dedication and adherence to the principles of justice. President Tinubu has a unique opportunity to demonstrate that no one is above the law and that the anti-corruption crusade is unwavering in its pursuit of accountability. The time for decisive action is now for the sake of justice, fairness, and the preservation of our democratic values.

The president should remember that political affiliations or personal allegiances do not bind the fight against corruption; it is a collective responsibility for the greater good of our nation. He would do well to address this matter promptly and take appropriate action to preserve the principles of justice and fairness.

Politics / Qua River Hotel: Senator Akpabio Goofs At Umo Eno's Thanksgiving by ogugwa1992: 11:42am On Feb 22
The people of Eket have called out the Senate President, Senator Godswil Akpabio over his alleged "deceitful, misleading and inciting statements" on the status and ownership of the moribund Qua River Hotel in Eket.

Senator Akpabio had told participants at a thanksgiving service hosted by the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, at his All Nations Christian Church in Eket on Sunday, 11th February, 2024, that he had repurchased and redesigned Qua River Hotel to give Eket people a sense of belonging.

But in a communique signed by its converter, Comrade Samuel Ubokudom on Tuesday, 20th February, 2024, Ekid Nation Interest Forum, Edem Udo Street, Eket, described the Senate President's comments as unguarded and blatant lies.

Entitled "Qua River Hotel: When Senator Godswill Akpabio lied at the pulpit", the communique observed with dismay that the fact that the Senate President's comments came "few days after he swore openly to his party stalwarts that he will make sure he captures the governorship seat in Akwa Ibom State for APC in 2027, aptly confirms our suspicions that this is just another of his political antics".

The communique reads:

"We have pondered on the frivolous, deceitful, misleading and inciting statements made by Senator Godswill Akpabio, Nigeria’s Senate President during a recent church thanksgiving service hosted by the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, at the All Nations Christian Church in Eket on Sunday, February 11.

"At that event, Akpabio lied before God, lied on the pulpit and lied before a cross section of the State

"Senator Akpabio deliberately came for the programme few minutes to the end of the church service, an act he has mastered over the years since his days as Governor of Akwa Ibom State. We are not particularly worried that he intentionally arrived late, disrupting the service, causing protocol breach and undermining Governor Umo Eno, who had to punctuate his address and wait for several minutes, for the late comer to dance in and greet everyone before taking his seat.

"We are only aghast that Akpabio was later to open old wounds on the sensibilities of the people of Eket when we listened with disdain, to the frivolous, deceitful, misleading and inciting statement made by Senate President of Nigeria especially on the abandoned moribund Qua River Hotel in Eket.

"Chief among his lies was that he had re-purchased the Qua River Hotel, which had previously been sold to a private firm in 2001 by the then Governor Victor Attah administration, and that he had gone ahead to design a 16 Storey Hotel for the present location of Qua River Hotel for Eket people.

"Even if Akpabio does not have any regards for Eket, as clearly shown in his eight years of governorship of Akwa Ibom State between 2007 and 2015, he should have at least feared God and scrutinize the lies he gushed out from the pulpit.

"Nothing could be so untrue like Akpabio's gospel of Qua River Hotel. Amusingly, Akpabio is now pretending to love Eket people. That is just a product of the guilt that he has had to fight with and suppressed over the years.

"That was simply his style of confession, and speaks volume of a guilty conscience. Perhaps Akpabio feels that Eket people have very limited retentive memory when he himself is the one whose memory needs to be recalibrated.

"Let us therefore remind Akpabio that at the QIC Primary School, Usung Inyang Eket in March 2007 when he visited Eket to seek for votes as the PDP Governorship Candidate, he made bold to promise several things: the building of a new stadium in Eket, revamping of the ailing Qua River Hotel and resurrecting the Qua Steel Factory. He also promised Eket - Ibeno Road and Eket-Etinan Road among others.

"He clearly said, “I know you want Eket Sports Stadium, I can assure you, I can assure you and I can assure you.
“You want the Qua River Hotel, I can assure you I can assure you and I can assure you…” It had since been confirmed that Akpabio in 2007 was basically listing all what he will never do for Eket people; and he showed undiluted fidelity to the pledge to neglect Eket as if he swore to an affidavit to do just that.

"He did none after eight years. This is why we condemn his open mockery on Eket after such heartless treatment? Oh what an audacity to add salt to injury.

"Our happiness is that God has been passing through succeeding administrations to give Eket what Akpabio vehemently opposed and denied the area. It was only after the Senate President left office in 2015 as Governor that infrastructural reforms were witnessed in Eket, despite its strategic status as headquarters of Eket senatorial district.

"All of the music of uncommon transformation that rocked the airwaves throughout his eight year tenure had no echo throughout Eket land as no major road was constructed beyond ground breaking stage. We have now seen the construction and in dual form, the Eket - Ibeno Road, Eket - Etinan Road all the way to Uyo and the remodeling of Eket into an urban standard.

"We now see how it feels to have roundabouts with water fountains and amphi theatre. Sporting life has resurrected in the area with the ultra modern sports facility. We know those who truly love Eket and Akpabio is not one of them.

"His comments on the pulpit in Eket soil, which came very few days after he swore openly to his party stalwarts that he will make sure he captures the governorship seat in Akwa Ibom State for APC in 2027, aptly confirms our suspicions that this is just another of his political antics and never a sign of love for Eket people.

"When he had the yam and the knife as Governor, Akpabio knew that besides Uyo which already had a Five Star Hotel on Nwaniba Road, the next city in Akwa Ibom State that justifiably needed a five star hotel and other amenities was Eket, a part of the State where the vast natural wealths of the country emanate.

"But he ignored his conscience then and rather built a 12 Storey hotel in Uyo few poles from an existing 10th Anniversary Hotel started by the Joseph Adeusi administration, and took the third one to Ikot Ekpene.

"Where does such a man still hide his face to come and talk about the importance of a Hotel and other developments in Eket?

"On the establishment of tertiary institutions, during his tenure, he had the opportunity of fulfilling the longstanding dream of Eket’s forebears when the federal government dangled him an opportunity to host a Federal Polytechnic in Akwa Ibom.

"He rather took it to his backyard in Ukana, when Eket was willing to avail him of better facilities at Afaha Eket. Eket was not also worthy of any of the campuses of the State University which he established as Governor.

"During that service at All Nations Christian Church, Akpabio also accused the Governor of taking his thanksgiving to his own church. As if addressing his Personal Aide, he told the Governor, “as Governor, you are a member of all churches. Next time go to Apostolic, Mount Zion or other churches for thanksgiving.”

"Does he forget that on Sunday September 24,2023, Pastor Umo Eno had hosted the State Anniversary thanksgiving service at The Apostolic Church, Obio Imo street in Uyo. At that event which he came late as usual, Akpabio clearly told Governor Eno to discountenance the Akwa Ibom State Map, duly enacted by the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and signed into law by the immediate past administration.

"Why would a lawfully approved Map of the State pain Senator Akpabio, if not because it afforded Eket the opportunity of reclaiming its ancestral land and property?

"That is why we vehemently condemn his unguarded utterances at the church in Eket. We witnessed how he took turns to attack everyone he could recognize from the lectern; from the former Deputy governor, Mr Moses Ekpo to the current deputy governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi and even the director general of the Umo Eno Campaign Organisation, Chief Assam Assam, SAN.

"This was even after he had cleared his throat by saying that he was not going to abuse people that day, as if the duty of the senate president is to abuse people from the pulpit. Senator Akon Eyakenyi was a Commissioner in the State Executive Council when Akpabio himself was made commissioner, but that is the same person Akpabio would say had never been to Abuja until he made her Minister. “The first time your deputy Akon Eyakenyi ever set foot in Abuja to know where the federal capital territory is located, was when I sent her to be a Minister”. I was the one who brought Moses Ekpo back from US and made him deputy Governor but throughout his tenure in 8years, he never invited me for a state function in my own State”. What manner of blatant lies and reckless statements.

"While we cannot change him at this stage of his life, we want to let Akpabio know that his counsel to the Governor on Qua River Hotel is respectfully unsolicited as it was wrapped in falsehood. During his tenure, Senator Akpabio made no effort to recover the Qua River hotel from EKPOUDIA ENTERPRISE that had acquired it in 2001. How much did he pay to re-purchase the property as he claimed?

"Eket people had since taken their destiny in their hands and commenced processes of revoking the contract deal on the hotel through a motion by the member representing Eket in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Dr Nsidibe Akata.

"The House of Assembly is in the process of legally empowering the Governor, Pastor Umo Eno to revoke and reclaim the project and build a standard hotel for Eket. Why would such a resolution have been needed if at all Akpabio’s Government had re-purchased the hotel from the private owners as he lied in his gospel of lies?

"So, suddenly, Eket now deserves such attention? Akpabio is waking up late in the night; he shunned us in the morning, afternoon and evening. This late night interest is suspicious and curious, and we reject it with the alertness a night action deserves.

"If he wants to steal the glory when eventually the rights to the project is revoked, remodeled and put to use. He has failed once again.

"Akpabio is a wrong person to advise Governor Umo Eno on what to do for Eket people; Akpabio cannot be more Catholic than the Pope, Akpabio cannot cry our cry for us.

"Good enough, we have a listening leader in Governor Umo Eno, who does not allow ethnic sentiments or other mundane trivialities to put a wedge between him and his plans for the people.

"We trust that the humble Man of God in the helms of Akwa Ibom State affairs, will build an ultra modern Hotel complex for Eket, he will expand on its infrastructure and will afford us more government presence through industries, a tertiary institution and other infrastructure to enable our local government reclaim its past glory as ‘Idung Mfianwe’.

"For the umpteenth time, we urge Senator Godswill Akpabio to leave Eket alone. He did not like us yesterday, he cannot like us today. We are not interested in his cosmetic love."

Politics / Edo Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu Accused Of Plotting To Disrupt PDP Primaries by ogugwa1992: 7:21pm On Feb 20
ALLEGED CRIMINAL MASTERMIND WITH LINKS TO DEPUTY GOVERNOR ARRESTED AND REMANDED IN PRISON FOR PLOTTING TO DISRUPT EDO STATE PDP GOVERNORSHIP PRIMARIES*

AS POLICE MAKE CRITICAL ARREST….

In a shocking series of events, the Deputy Governor of Edo State Comrade Philip Shaibu has found himself entwined in a plot to use thugs to disrupt the PDP Primaries slated to take place on Thursday the 22nd of February, 2024 at the Ogbe Stadium in Benin City, Edo State.

Acting on an anonymous tip, a specialized team of armed police officers executed a swift operation at a hotel located in the GRA area of Benin City late Tuesday evening, leading to the apprehension of Mr. Momoh. He was taken into custody on charges related to advanced fee fraud and his alleged involvement in recruiting individuals to cause chaos during the PDP primaries.

Following the arrest, Mr. Momoh was escorted under tight security to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) office situated on Central Road. However, an unexpected twist unfolded when Deputy Governor Shaibu arrived at the police station and demanded the immediate release of Mr. Momoh based on his position as the Deputy Governor.

Despite the Deputy Governor's insistence, the officer in charge at the CID office refused to comply with his request. Citing the seriousness of the alleged crimes committed by Mr. Momoh, the officer stated that the suspect would be arraigned in court on the same day. It would ultimately be up to the presiding judge to determine whether Mr. Momoh should be remanded in custody or granted bail.

An enraged Deputy Governor Shaibu left the police station premises in a visibly agitated state. However, a few hours later, he appeared at the courthouse where Mr. Momoh was formally presented before a judge. During the court proceedings, Mr. Momoh entered his initial pleas, and the judge subsequently ordered his remand in prison until the following week.

Deputy Governor Shaibu departed the courtroom without addressing the press, leaving the public and media outlets eagerly awaiting further updates on this rapidly evolving story.

Politics / The Role Of Political Spouses: The Akwa Ibom State Example By Da Zion Umoh by ogugwa1992: 1:50pm On Feb 19
HOW COME NIGERIANS DID NOT KNOW THE WIVES OF ALL THE FORMER SENATE PRESIDENT AND WHY DID THE SENATE PRESIDENT REFUSED TO HONOUR SENATOR ITAK BOB EKARIKA?

From the creation of Nigeria in 1960, we've had ; Nnamdi Azikiwe, Dennis Osadebay, Nwafor Orizu, Joseph Wayas, Iyorchia Ayu, Ameh Ebute, Evan Enwerem, Chuba Okadigbo , Anyim Pius Anyim , Adolphus Wabara, Ken Nnamani , David Mark, Bukola Saraki and Ahmed Lawan as Senat Presidents BUT nobody knew their Wives in Nigeria's Politics because all the Wives of Our Fommer Senate Presidents channelled their energies and lives to their private practice without teleguiding and televising the office of the Senate President as if the Wives of the Senate President are the Deputy Senate Presidents.

For Example:

The Wife of Senator Saraki is a Chartered Accountant and during the years of her Husband as the Senate President, she was hardly found because she was focusing in her career as an Accountant.

The Wife of Senator Lawan is a Market Trader which throughout the years of her Husband as the Senate President, she was hardly found because she was busy in the Market as one of the Biggest Trader in her Husband's State.

Late last year (2023), Our Leader the Senate President presented some Salvage Reconstructed Cars to Akwa Ibomites with the help of his Wife who later claimed that she was the person donating those Junk Cars to Akwa Ibomites as the Wife of the Senate President who wants to be more relevant than her husband (The Senate President).

Just yesterday (17tha February 2024) in the midst of worst recession in Nigeria where fuel is going for 700 Per Litter and 1 UK Pound goes for 2,025 Naira, just one office of the Senate President flew 2 Private Jets to same event at Rivers State at the expense of Tax Payer's Money and the event was a mere Thanksgiving Service of a Nigeria's Senator Barinada Mpigi at Rivers State.

While Nigerians are starving to death, the Most Powerful Wife of the Senate President (Outlr Leader) flew a Private Jet to Rivers State and waited inChurch with Other Senators for the Senate President who also landed with another Private Jet which I can understand his visit because he had political business to handle in Rivers State which was gracing the Thanksgiving Service of his Colleague.

HERE ARE MY QUESTIONS;

Is the Wife of the Senate President a member of the Advance team of the Senate President?

How come the Wife of the Senate President couldn't fly with her husband to the event instant of Using another Private Jet which the money could probably feed 1 Million Hungry Nairans?

Is the Wife of the Senate President afraid of flying the same Jet with the Senate President just in case the Plane crash she can take over the Senate President's Seat from her husband which is impossible?

How Come other Wives of the Senate Presidents were not flying Private Jets to same Events their Husbands were flying to attain?

How come Aisha Muhammadu Buhari as the Former First Lady of Nigeria was flying same Presidential Jet with her Husband Muhammadu Buhari?

How come Sen.Oluremi Tinubu (Current Wife Of The President) is not Using Private Aircraft to chase President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu by landing different Jet at the same Airport with the President just to move to ssme event with two different long Convoy just to suffocate the Poor?

How come the Wife of the Former Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo was not as Busy as the current Wife of the Senate President?

How come the Wife of the Current Vice President Kashim Shettima is not known and nor have we seen her Using Private Jet to chase her Husband when he's out for Official Duties?

Where is the Wife of Rt Hon Abbas Tajudeen (Speaker Of The National Assembly) and how come her Wife is not Using Private Jet to chase and monitor her Husband in the name of Mobilising all the Wives of the National Assembly Members?

How come the Wife of Sen Barau Jibrin Maliya (Deputy Senate President) is not known or seen flying Private Jets to events just to be seated by Senators?

Who knows the Wife of Femi Gbajabiamila and how come she's not seen flying Private Jets to meet Femi at Public event?

How come the Wife of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR is not known or seen flying Private Jets in Nigeria?

How come the Wife of Senator Adams Oshiomhole is not seen flying Private Jets to catch up her Husband?

How come the Wife of Senator Abdul'aziz Abubakar Yari is not seen flying Private Jets to catch up with her Husband?

How come the Wife of Senator Sen Akpan Ekong Sampson is not even known or seen flying Private Jets to catch up with her husband?

How come Nigerians didn't know the Wife of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu who was a Medical Doctor until her demise and why was she nog flying Private Jets to attain same event with her Husband?

Is Senator Aniekan Bassey single because nobody knows his Wife or seen her flying Private Jets to keep an eye on her husband?

Where is the Wife of Nyesom Ezenwo Wike - CON, GSSRS and how come she's not Flying Private Jets around?

Where are the Wives of other Senators and where are their Private Jets?

How come the Wife of the Inspector General Of Police is not flying Private Jets with excuses of gathering Police Officer's Wives for Nigeria Police Force?

How come the Wife of the National Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is not seen flying Private Jets to meet her husband at events?

Has anyone seen the Convoy of the Husband of Senator Akon Eyakenyi who happens to be the Current Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State?

How come President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Wife are not seen flying two different Private Jets to same Event in Nigeria or outside Nigeria?

If the Wife of the Senate President went to represent the Wives of The Senators, does it mean that this Administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu - BAT has become Real Housewives Of Atlanta Reality TV Show where Rich People's Wives just sit around and flush Hard Currencies into Toilets before Cameras just to be more Popular than there Husbands that makes the Billions?

Looking back at 2023 were Sahara Reporters and other blogs were kicked against the office of The Senate President - Nigeria creating an office with Monthly Allocation for the Wife of the Senate President, I want to say that it is very necessary for Nigerian Senate to create an office for The Wife Of the Senate President so that Nigeria can have President and First Lady of Aso Rock With a Private Jet and Senate President and Senate President and Firt Lady of The Senate with her Private Jet as well.

Funny enough, Senator Itak Bob Ekarika whom Obong Victor Bassey Udo-Adiaha Attah made thr Commissioner alongside with Godswill Obot Akpabio was buried that same yesterday and it would have been better but without economic value if the Wife of the Senate President had represented her Husband at the Funeral in Akwa Ibom State with her Private Jet while her Husband would have represented her at the Thanksgiving Service of Senator Sen Barinada Mpigi forgetting that Senator Itak Bod stepped down for Godswill Akpabio as the Governorship Candidate then supported Godswill to win the Governorship Seat during his 1st term and his 2nd and I know too well that if Senator Itak Bob wasan Igbo Man, the Wife of the Senate President would've brought Godswill Akpabio and herself to the Funeral of Bob Ekarika which they Unleashed their Local Errand Boys to go and represent the Senate President upon all the Sacrifices Itak Bob made for Godswill Obot Akpabio.

Oh Itak Bob Ekarika.😭😭😭😭😭

Why is the Wife of the Senate President trying to be more Popular than the Wife of the President?

Between Ekaette-Unoma Akpabio and Godswill Akpabio, please who is the Senate President Of Nigeria?

Why is the Wife of the Senate President micromanaging the office of the Senate President like Igbo Trader's Club?

All Is Not Well In Akwa Ibom State APC And The Office Of The Senate President Distinguished Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio Is Under Serious Attack By The Undercover Senate President And Akwa Ibomites Are Finished And I Hope The Advisers Of The Senate President Can Release Ubokobong Ime Aka Ubokobong Udoworen Or Release His Corpse To His Family.

Governors Peter Mbah of Enugu State, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State are Governors of the Year. Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Prof. Awa Kalu, and Rev. Uma Ukpai received Lifetime Achievement Award). Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ooni of Ife and HRM Ogiame Atuwatse III, Olu of Warri (Most Impactful Royal Father), Mr. Robert Azibaola, Founder, Zeetin Engineering Limited; Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, CEO, Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission and Mr. Charles Odii, DG, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) (Public Service Award); and others.

The Tantita Chairman who was represented at the event by his Media Aide, Dr. Paul Bebenimibo, thanked the Sun Newspaper for recognizing the sustained efforts of TSSL in protecting the nation’s pipelines and intensifying the fight against the theft of the nation’s crude oil resources.

He said that the award will further encourage him to put more efforts in the ongoing effective collaboration with the Armed Forces and security agencies to protect the nation’s pipelines and prevent its crude oil resources from being stolen by a cabal of unpatriotic Nigerians and their foreign allies.

He said, “Tantita is not the only one involved in the prosecution of the campaign against the mindless theft of the nation’s resources, the firm is carrying out the job in collaboration with the Nigerian military.

“I must say that the Nigerian military is doing its best and there has been effective synergy between the military and Tantita, the civil Defence and other security agencies. This productive synergy would continue in the interest of our country.

“We discovered a lot of points where illegal oil bunkering activities were taking place. We arrested several vessels and in this year alone we have arrested three vessels involved in the criminal theft of the oil resources in this country. I can assure you that High Chief Timpolo will build on this achievements and ensure noticeable improvement in daily oil production for Nigerians and Nigeria,” he said

In his remarks, the Managing Director of the Sun Newspaper Publishing Limited, Mr Onuoha Ukeh, said that the 34 awardees made serious silent contributions to national development in their respective areas in spite of the challenges of the year.

He described the awardees as a people who demonstrated uncommon capacity to confront the odds to succeed in their respective areas.

“We are here to honour 34 great Nigerians whose works and achievements in 2023 stood out. The awardees are a blend of unassuming young Nigerians, some whom may not have been heard of but who are silently making waves in their various endeavours, and also established citizens who have been steadfast, dogged and consistent in their efforts at contributing to national developmen.

“The year 2023, for Nigeria as a nation and Nigerians as a people, was remarkable and challenging. It was a year of politics and elections. It was a year when Nigerians went to the polls to choose their leaders. It was a year when Nigerians tested their God-given ability to decide their fate and fully realised that they have the inherent power to make things happen the way they would want, for the good of the nation and the people.

“It was a year when political power changed hands, from a President, who had completed two terms of eight years in office, to a new president. It was a year when petroleum subsidy was finally removed. It was a year when the exchange rate crossed the threshold of N1, 000 to one dollar. It was a year when the country grappled with insecurity and other sundry challenges. It was indeed a year to remember.

“In the midst of all these, there were Nigerians who withered the storm and stand tall today to be counted. They were resilient, determined, and courageous to confront obstacles and to succeed.

“They used their ingenuity very well and made astonishing successes in their various fields. They are a toast to resourcefulness.

“We are here to celebrate and honour them. We are here to tell a success story, to the effect that with the excellent use of our human and capital resources, something good will come out of Nigeria.”

Politics / #LiberalizeGunEights: Polls Reveal Nigerians Yearn For Gun Legalization - SR by ogugwa1992: 6:29pm On Feb 14
Polls conducted by activists coordinating the #LiberalizeGunRights campaign have revealed that Nigerians are yearning for the liberalization of gun ownership in Nigeria.

The #LiberalizeGunRights activists believe their seven-question survey has provided helpful insights into the standpoint of Nigerians on self-defence given the spiralling insecurity crisis in the country.

We can confirm that 325 Nigerians responded to the polls on Microsoft Forms and Google Forms during the seven days it lasted. The activists explained that the survey started on Microsoft Forms before being extended to Google Forms to give access to more Nigerians to respond.

The questions asked in the survey were 'Liberalize Gun Rights for Nigerians?'; 'Liberalize Gun Rights for Farmers?'; 'Liberalize Gun Rights in Rural Nigeria?'; 'Liberalize Gun Rights in the Middle Belt?'; 'Liberalize Gun Rights in Southern Nigeria?'; 'Support Permitless Carry for Nigerians?'; and 'Support Permitless Carry for Farmers Only?' Questions one and seven had three options: Yes, No, or Maybe, while questions two, three, four, five, and six had two options: Yes or No.

The responses show that most respondents support the liberalization of gun ownership for all Nigerians, the liberalization of gun ownership for farmers, the liberalization of gun ownership in rural Nigeria, the liberalization of gun ownership in the Middle Belt and the liberalization of gun ownership in Southern Nigeria. However, most respondents did not support permitless carry for all Nigerians, except in the cases of farmers, for which 44% supported permitless carry, 40% rejected it, and 16% answered that they were not sure.

According to the collated data from the verified responses for question one, 248 respondents or approximately 77%, answered 'Yes' to the liberalization of gun ownership for all Nigerians. Also, 42 respondents, or approximately 13%, answered 'Maybe' while only 35 respondents or approximately 11%, answered 'No' to the same question.

According to the collated data from the verified responses for question two, 298 respondents or approximately 92%, answered 'Yes' to the liberalization of gun ownership for farmers. However, 27 respondents or approximately 8% answered 'No' to the same question.

According to the collated data from the verified responses for question three, 292 respondents, or approximately 90%, answered 'Yes' to the liberalization of gun ownership in rural Nigeria. However, 33 respondents or approximately 10% answered 'No' to the same question.

According to the collated data from the verified responses for question four, 295 respondents, or approximately 91%, answered 'Yes' to the liberalization of gun ownership in the Middle Belt. However, 30 respondents or approximately 9% answered 'No' to the same question.

According to the collated data from the verified responses for question five, 271 respondents, or approximately 83%, answered 'Yes' to the liberalization of gun ownership in Southern Nigeria. However, 54 respondents, or approximately 17%, answered 'No' to the same question.

According to the collated data from the verified responses for question six, 193 respondents, or approximately 59%, answered 'No' to Permitless Carry for all Nigerians. However, 132 respondents, approximately 41%, answered 'Yes' to the same question.

According to the collated data from the verified responses for question seven, 143 respondents or 44%, answered 'Yes' to Permitless Carry for Farmers Only. Also, 129 respondents, or approximately 40%, answered 'No' while only 53 respondents or approximately 16%, answered 'Maybe' to the same question.

When we asked his opinion on the poll results, a leading activist in the campaign, Raphael Adebayo, said, 'Nigerians have clearly decided to protect themselves from the barbarism of ethnoreligious terrorists and kidnappers.' He further stated that it was time for the 10th National Assembly to give legislative approval to the wishes of Nigerians to defend themselves, their properties and their families. 'It is the only way to reverse the current trend in which the country has become the Federal Republic of Terrorists and Kidnappers,' he added.

Crime / Kidnapping: Wike Approves Motor Parks In Residential Estates In Abuja by ogugwa1992: 5:08pm On Feb 12
KIDNAPPING: RESIDENTS EXPRESS SHOCK, ALARM AS WIKE APPROVES MOTOR PARKS IN RESIDENTIAL ESTATES IN ABUJA

Residents of housing estates in Karsana District, Abuja, have been thrown into panic as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike May have approved the establishment and operation of motor parks in between residential estates in the area.

Residents of Mab Global Estate and Queens Estate are shocked that the Minister who vowed to fight the terrifying insecurity in the FCT could grant approval to establish a motor park in between their residential estates.

When the Network visited the area on Monday, the alarmed residents expressed the fear that the Minister’s action if true will attract kidnappers and other perpetrators of violent crimes to their door steps.

They said that the approval granted a private firm would portray the minister as insincere and insensitive to the precarious security situation in the area.

A home owner, Mr James Adebayo, who spoke to the Network recalled how the wife of a permanent secretary was kidnapped and a ransom of N100 million paid to kidnappers in the area in November 2023.

He noted that there are sincere fears that the motor park would attract all manner of criminals to the strictly residential area wondering how the FCT administration which is believed battling insecurity would have taken decisions that would clearly worsen the bad security situation in the area.

He urged the minister to have a rethink (if true) and withdraw the approval granted to operators of motor packs whose operations would clearly aggravate the security woes in the area.

The purported approval letter dated May 25, 2023, four days to the end of the Buhari administration was signed by Abdullahi Adamu Candido, the Secretary, Transportation Secretariat.

However, the date of the letter granting approval to the firm has raised concern about the genuineness or otherwise of the approval.

There are indications that the FCT administration under Wike might have adopted the curious approval granted four days to the end of the Buhari administration going by the action of the firm

The letter reads, “The Federal Capital Territory Administration granted the curious approval to develop the motor park in a letter of May 25, 2023, to the Managing Director, Fasaha & Sons Global Services Nig. Ltd, Mabglobal by Queen Estate Abuja.

“I am pleased to inform you that approval has been given to your Company for its engagement as Manager of Temporary Off-Stree
12/2/2024

“Parking at Karsana East by Mabglobal, Queen Estate, FCT Abuja, for a period of Five (5) years.

“Your engagement as a Manager for the period stated above is subject to renewal at the discretion of the Secretary, Transportation Secretariat.

“The structures to be erected at the Park shall be as approved by the Federal Capital Territory Administration.

“This Engagement is Subjected strictly to the attached conditions.”

Meanwhile, aggrieved residents of the affected estates have vowed to take the matter to the Minister saying it is doubtful and curious, that Wike would grant such an approval to undermine his own efforts against insecurity.

Crime / Oil Theft: Again, Tantita Arrests Another Vessel In Bayelsa by ogugwa1992: 8:22pm On Feb 06
•••AS NAVY MOVES TO BOOST FIGHT AGAINST OIL THEFT; APPOINTS SPECIAL TASK FORCE TO WORK WITH TSSL TO COVER NIGERIA’S BLUE WATERS

The Tantita Security Services Limited the private company in the forefront in the fight against oil theft has again arrested another vessel for alleged theft of the nation’s crude oil in Bayelsa State.

The Moldovan Sea Cargo, MT Harbor Spirit was laddened with over 80,000 litres of crude oil with 12 Nigerian crew when it was taken by the operatives of the security outfit.

The Executive Director – Operations and Technical, TSSL, Copt. Warredi Enisuoh, broke the news to journalists at Oporoza, Warri South West Local Government Area where of Delta State on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.

Enisuoh said that vessel was arrested with the collaborative efforts of Tantita operatives and the nation’s military.

The vessel, MT Harbour Spirit with IMO No: 8226272, has been taken to Tantita’s operational base at Oporoza, headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State for further investigation.

The vessel is currently anchored at Tantita facility at Oporoza, headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.

Enisouh, thanked the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, for the collaborative efforts between Tantita and the military.

"The Chief of Defence Staff in his very strict instructions on dealing with the scourge of crude oil theft said we are working in synergy with all available forces, the Nigerian army, the Nigerian Navy, Police, NSCDC, the DSS to bring to the barest minimum, if not completely eliminate the situation.

“And what we can see here today is a result of that instruction and order which was also heavily supported by the Chief of Naval Staff, who will immediately put his men into the ship.

"This ship was being sought out by law enforcement agents for a while and not today, not yesterday. Quite a while back, it is not a Nigerian registered ship. As a matter of fact, she's a Moldovan ship. However, the crew is Nigerian.

"The inspector General of Police has set up a special team to investigate the ship. The whole idea is to drill down to the sponsors of the ship. Those who have been using the ship to perpetrate crimes against the country.

"Now, this ship was monitored specifically by the Nigerian Navy as well as ourselves too. And it came close a lot for apprehension on this particular day, just about two days ago, precisely on early hours of Sunday.

"Our detection systems found it nosing around Sagana oil fields Bayelsa and what had happened there was that we swung into action and discovered that they made a fast one on the oil platforms there. And let me put on record that they cooperated and we were able to apprehend an arrest them.

"So we have taken soundings of the contents but estimates is that it has got about 80,000 litres and not that we could not have allowed it to take more, but that is not the objective. The objective is to prevent them from doing that so what they do is they show their motive and intention.

“So we got about 12 or 13 thereabout, we've got a couple of others who give them support from the community as well when we swooped on them at about 1am on Sunday." He said

The Capt of MT Harbor Spirit Captain Joseph Shittu told Journalists revealed that he was sent to load crude from a vessel by his employers from Lagos.

"We were apprehended at the loading point in Sagana by the Tantita boys and the civil defence,  because even the operation we were not happy for the operation,we were trying to find our way to go down before they came.

"We wanted out because the place they took us to we were not pleased with place, but to  get a boats from there was difficult. They sent a boat later on but the boat man told us he doesn't have fuel that we should before that we just give him time to 2am or 3am so that we can proceed.
"It didn't get to 30 seconds that we put our bags into the boat to disembark from the boats from the vessel that we were apprehended.

" Immediately, three of my crew jumped into the water and I never hear from them right now. I don't even know where they are. We are just a crew. We are Nigerians, it is what we want to eat that is all we are looking for. That is that is the reason why we were employed on board this vessel, we  are family men.

"I was employed by Jojo Oil and Gas in Lagos, the instruction is that we should go and load slurge crude oil from a barge, on our way going they told us that one person will come on board, which is super cargo or pilot, but I don't know. When we got to deep sea they told us that we should stand by that the vessel was not ready that a pilot is on board that will take us to the place of loading and we are not pleased with it.

"We are not pleased with it. And we tell them that is the reason that we want to disembark. Unfortunately, we were arrested." He said.

Meanwhile, the nation’s campaign against oil theft received a major boost with the Navy’s avowed collaboration with Tantita Security to intensify the ongoing campaign against the theft of the nation’s crude resources amidst rising economic challenges.

Top operatives involved in the campaign against oil theft told the journalists that the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, has set up a special task force to collaborate with Tantita in waging the battle against oil thieves.

It was learnt that efforts are bring made to finalize operational arrangements with Tantita in the renewed collaboration which is receiving attention pinnacle security circles in the Tinubu administration.

A source close to the arrangement told the media on the condition of anonymity that the Naval Task and operatives of Tantita Security Services Limited would collaborate to effectively cover the nation’s waters and rid them of oil theft,

Politics / Reno Omokri: Nigerians Suffering Because Of Terrorists Freed Under Buhari by ogugwa1992: 4:36pm On Feb 05
Nigeria Suffering Insecurity Because Buhari Regime Failed To Rearrest Freed Terrorists - Omokri

Former aide to ex president Goodluck Jonathan, pastor Reno Omokri has said that Nigeria is witnessing increased insecurity because the past administration of ex president Muhammadu Buhari failed to rearrest terrorists who were illegally freed from penitentiary by other terrorists.

Recall that Tuesday, July 5, 2022, during the administration of former president Buhari, hundreds of terrorists on motorcycles invaded Kuje prisons and, according to reports, freed over 600 of the 900 inmates in that penitentiary.

According to Omokri, the Buhari administration never rearrested the illegally freed terrorists. He said consequently, Nigeria is suffering from that failure by way of worsening insecurity.

Pastor Omokri, who is also a best-selling author took a swipe on some politicians who were among the previous administration, like popular Islamic Scholar, Isa Pantami, saying they lack moral grounds to say Nigeria is facing worse insecurity under president Tinubu than under ex president Buhari.

Omokri said, in fact, that there was worse insecurity in Nigeria during the Buhari administration than the country currently has.

He said, "Jailbreaks, airport invasions and train bombings are now a thing of the past. Oil thefts have reduced, and our oil production has increased from what it was under Buhari to about 2 million barrels per day today. And no police stations have been destroyed in the Southeast since Buhari's inept regime thankfully came to an end."

His statement reads thus:

"I have been following the attempts by some loyalists of Buhari to romanticise their disastrous tenure in office. I would be remiss in my responsibilities as a historian if I allowed these characters to succeed in misleading the public without exposing their schemes.

Now, before I go further, let me add that this is not an attack on Islam, and I am quite aware that a significant number of Nigerian Muslims know of my love and respect for Islam. I have issues with Buhari and his minions, not with Arewa or the Muslim Ummah.

Since Sheikh Isa Pantami is an Islamic scholar, I will use a word to describe him that he should be familiar with. Pantami is a Munafiq. How can a man who kept quiet when hundreds of terrorists in motorcycles invaded Kuje prisons on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, and freed over 600 of the 900 inmates in that penitentiary open his mouth and say that insecurity is worsening in Abuja and Nigeria?

Did his administration catch any of the over 600 terrorists that were released from Kuje prison? Is that not why Abuja is facing the challenges it now faces? And this Munafiq has the guts to now accuse others? Only in Buhari's most useless of governments would Pantami have graced the cabinet.

What did Isa Pantami say when, on Saturday, March 26, 2022, tens of terrorists invaded the Kaduna Airport on motorcycles and were openly riding on the runway and shooting on the tarmac?

Or does Pantami think we have forgotten how he went for cover when two days after the invasion of the Kaduna airport, terrorists bombed the Abuja-Kaduna rail on Monday, March 28, 2022, and killed eight Nigerians, including Amin Mahmoud, youth leader of the All Progressives Congress, and Megafu Chinelo, a doctor who tweeted, "I'm in the train, I have been shot. Please pray for me", before taking tens of hostages?

Pantami did not invent the crowdfunding of ransoms then. He only received the brainwave when the Kuje terrorists they failed to apprehend abducted Nabeeha and our beloved sisters.

The fact remains that the insecurity in Abuja and Nigeria is not as bad as it was under Buhari. In the specific case of Abuja, Nigeria is paying the price for the failure of Buhari and his cronies, like Pantami, who refused to rearrest the over 600 terrorists that were jailbroken from Kuje under their watch.

Nigeria is progressing without Buhari and Pantami. Jailbreaks, airport invasions and train bombings are now a thing of the past. Oil thefts have reduced, and our oil production has increased from what it was under Buhari to about 2 million barrels per day today. And no police stations have been destroyed in the Southeast since Buhari's inept regime thankfully came to an end.

And I, for one, will not stand idly by while Pantami and others, like Nasir El-Rufai, attempt to rewrite history and cast themselves and Buhari as heroes of a tragedy they created.

Politics / Edo PDP : NWC Replaces Makinde With Mbah Over Plot To Scuttle Congresses by ogugwa1992: 1:01pm On Feb 04
*Plot to scuttle Edo PDP ad hoc delegate congresses fails as NWC replaces Gov. Makinde with Gov. Mbah.*

A flurry of last minute petitions by 9 ‘Legacy Coalition’ governorship aspirants has failed to stop the PDP ad hoc delegate congresses currently taking place across the 192 wards in Edo State.

There were fears that Gov, Makinde’s shock resignation as Chairman of the Electoral Committee would derail the congresses late last night; but the National Working Committee (NWC) quickly resolved the issue with the reconstitution of a new electoral committee headed by Gov. Peter Mba of Enugu State.

The National Organizing Secretary of the PDP, Hon. Umar Bature also responded to Gov. Makinde in a curt letter, dismissing Gov. Makinde’s allegations that the congresses were being improperly constituted and reminding Makinde that not only did the Party abide by the letters of the law in organizing the congresses; all aspirants will be provided with the opportunity to appeal the outcome of the process.

In Edo state, PDP members turned out in high numbers to pick their delegates; a consequence of the high interest voters have taken in the high profile Edo Governorship race. Across the wards too, peace was maintained by large contingents of police officers and members of the Edo Security Network who were very conspicuous at the venues.

Congresses have been completed in parts of Edo State including Ikpoba Okha, the local government with the highest number of registered voters in Edo State.

The actions of the Chief Dan Orbih led Legacy Coalition of aspirants - Hon. Ogbeide-Ihama, Chief Anslem Ojezua, the deputy governor Comrade Philip Shaibu, Omosede Igbinedion, Hon. Felix Akhabue and four others - are reminiscent of the actions taken by the same Legacy group in the lead-up to the 2023 general elections where the PDP congresses and primaries in Edo State were contested and litigated up to the Supreme Court, with Gov. Obaseki’s group eventually emerging victorious.

Politics / Middle Belt Group Asks Tinubu To Sack Naval Chief Over Allegations Of Oil Theft by ogugwa1992: 12:38pm On Jan 30
In a bid to ensure accountability, transparency and good governance in the Nigerian state, a coalition of five groups under the Umbrella of The Middle Belt Pan-Nigerian Forum has called for the resignation of the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla.

The coalition, through its spokesperson, Dr. Danladi Ceceko Dangana, believes that the Naval Chief's continued stay in office may impede the investigation into his alleged involvement in crude theft, contract splitting, and other corrupt practices.

The allegations against the Naval Chief were first brought to light by Concerned Nigerians, a coalition of Civil Society Organizations with prominent activists and Lawyers, Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi, Esq, Comrade Deji Adeyanju, Comrade Mohammed Suleiman SK, Barrister Aisha Waliki, Esq and Comrade Ogunwoye Samson in a petition to the President through the Ministry of Defense.

The timing of these allegations is concerning, as Nigeria's economy has been facing challenges since the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assumed power. The coalition, therefore, appeals to the federal government, led by President Tinubu, to take immediate action and ensure a thorough investigation into the alleged activities of the corrupt Naval Chief. They fear that further delay could cause irreparable damage to the country's crude oil resources.

The coalition is particularly alarmed by the Naval Chief's response to the allegations, as he dismissed them as being solely based on an exclusive news report from a media platform.

You would recall that the People's Gazette, an online platform had in a well detailed report revealed his alleged role in facilitating a loosely coordinated bunkering of Nigerian crude, as well as involvement in multibillion-naira contract-splitting fraud and other corrupt activities. Initial investigations conducted by the newspaper estimated that the Naval Chief had accepted bribes totaling over $170 million in the past six months alone.

The coalition questions whether the Naval Chief would deny the petition filed by credible civil society groups under the auspices of Concerned Nigerians who had presented evidence to the president. The groups claim that Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, under whose control Naval officers allegedly provided security to criminals, was involved in specific incidents of crude oil theft. One such incident involved the MT PRAISEL vessel, where the Nigerian Navy purportedly allowed it to patrol the Nigerian waterways under their protection. The coalition asserts that they possess evidence, including an authenticated video, showing the Nigerian Navy escorting the MT PRAISEL vessel during the night.

The coalition also references other incidents involving vessels like the MT KALI and MT Tura, where military gunboats, allegedly belonging to the Nigerian Navy, were seen protecting vessels engaged in crude oil theft. Additionally, they mention a recent case involving the MT VANNALARIS vessel, where the Nigerian Navy personnel prevented a private security firm from boarding or inspecting the vessel, despite allegations of illegal crude oil loading off Ondo State.

In light of these serious allegations, the coalition calls on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to act fast against the corrupt and incompetent Naval Chief in order to tame the theft of Nigeria’s crude oil. They emphasize the need for a thorough investigation into these matters to prevent Nigeria from becoming a laughing stock among the international community.

Politics / Claims Of Oil Theft Against Naval Chief Are False - Group by ogugwa1992: 3:57pm On Jan 29
Group denounces false claims against Chief of Naval Staff in the fight against oil theft

The Oil Producing States Progressives Association has vehemently refuted allegations against the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, published by former Premium Times staffer Samuel Ogundipe, currently residing in the United Kingdom.

The association urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to dismiss what they termed "fallacious and baseless" claims, asserting that the allegations were an attempt to divert attention from the ongoing efforts to combat oil theft and bunkering activities in oil-producing states.

The group said since President Bola Tinubu assumed office in May 2023, there has been a noticeable increase in daily crude oil production, including condensates, adding that enemies of Nigeria are not happy with the achievements so far.

In a statement sent to journalists by its president, Tamunor Charles Wokne, the association said: ''From 1,430,146 barrels per day in May 2023, the output surged to 1,572,315 barrels per day in September 2023, achieving the highest production for the year.

"The administration aims to reach a daily production target of 2 million barrels, and the Oil Producing States Progressives Association believes this goal is under threat from those engaged in oil theft and economic sabotage.

''Under the leadership of Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, the fight against crude oil theft has yielded significant results. Notable achievements include intercepting vessels carrying stolen crude oil, destroying illegal refineries, and apprehending individuals involved in these illicit activities.

''In December 2023, the Anti-Crude Oil Theft Patrol Team intercepted MT Vinnalaris with 15,000 metric tonnes of stolen crude oil, leading to the arrest of 17 crew members.

"The Nigerian Navy also intercepted MV Mother Gabrini attempting to take delivery of 15,237 metric tonnes of crude oil with fake documents in Bony, River State. Furthermore, the Nigerian Navy Ship NNS Pathfinder destroyed a three-million-litre capacity illegal refinery in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State.

''Collaboration between the Nigerian Army, Tantita Security Services Limited, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp resulted in the arrest of a vessel with 15,775 litres of crude oil/illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil in the Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.

"On January 18, 2024, the Nigerian Army uncovered an illegal refining camp with a capacity of 2.8 million litres of crude oil in Odagwa community, Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State.

''These efforts have contributed to an increase in crude oil production, reaching 1.6 million barrels per day in December 2023, leading to Nigeria being declared the Highest Crude Oil Producing country in Africa by the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).''

The association urged the CNS and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to remain focused on the fight against crude oil thieves and their collaborators for the overall good of the country.

Politics / Investigate Naval Chief For Contract Splitting Scam, Coalition Urges Tinubu by ogugwa1992: 5:00pm On Jan 27
Coalition petitions Minister of Defence, Urges President Tinubu to Investigate Allegations of Corruption & Oil Bunkering against Naval Chief

A coalition of concerned Nigerians has submitted a petition to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, raising serious allegations of crude oil theft, contract splitting, procurement fraud, and corruption practices against Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, the Chief of Naval Staff.

In a petition signed by notable Human Rights Activists and lawyers in the nation, Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi, Esq, Comrade Deji Adeyanju, Comrade Mohammed Suleiman SK, Barrister Aisha Waliki, Esq and Comrade Ogunwoye Samson, the coalition calls for an immediate investigation into the conduct of Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, who is accused of engaging in large-scale corrupt practices.

The coalition, which submitted the petition to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through the Office of the Minister of State for Defense, Hon. Bello Matawalle, expressed deep concern over the alarming allegations. “At a time when the country is grappling with significant revenue losses due to crude oil theft, it is distressing to discover that the Chief of Naval Staff, whose primary responsibility is to safeguard Nigeria's waterways against oil theft and other forms of criminality, is allegedly involved in collusion with the perpetrators of these heinous crimes against the Nigerian state”.

The coalition outlined three primary areas forming the basis of their petition against Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla: Oil theft collusion, Contract splitting & Procurement fraud, and corrupt practices.

Regarding oil theft collusion, the coalition alleges that Naval officers under the direct control of Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla have not only participated in the theft of the nation's crude oil but have also provided security to the criminals. They cite specific incidents involving vessels engaged in crude oil theft, such as the MT PRAISEL vessel, where the Nigerian Navy allegedly allowed it to continue patrolling the Nigerian waterways under the protection of Navy officers headed by Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla. The coalition claims to possess evidence, including an authenticated video, showing the Nigerian Navy escorting the MT PRAISEL vessel during the night.

The coalition also highlights incidents involving the MT KALI and MT Tura vessels, where military gunboats purportedly belonging to the Nigerian Navy were seen protecting vessels engaged in crude oil theft. Furthermore, they mention the recent case of the MT VANNALARIS vessel allegedly loading crude oil illegally off Ondo State, with Nigerian Navy personnel preventing a private security firm from boarding or inspecting the vessel.

The coalition emphasizes that the Nigerian Navy's involvement in these cases of crude oil theft is consistent and alarming. They assert that the crude oil theft persists because the Navy, led by Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, is allegedly in collusion with the criminals, and the corruption can be traced to the upper echelons of the Nigerian Navy. To effectively combat crude oil theft or reduce it to a minimum, the coalition insists that Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla must be relieved of his duties.

Regarding the allegation of contract splitting and procurement fraud, the coalition accuses Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla of not only engaging in oil theft but also dipping his fingers into procurement fraud and contract splitting, in violation of Nigeria's procurement laws, particularly the Procurement Act. They provide specific details of 30 contracts awarded by the Nigerian Navy under Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla's command to a single company, with each contract valued at $537,672.45, totaling over 8 billion Naira. Contract splitting, which involves dividing a single contract into smaller pieces to bypass procurement regulations, is expressly forbidden by Section 20(2) of the Procurement Act. The coalition emphasizes that engaging in contract splitting is a criminal offense punishable by a minimum term of five years imprisonment, according to Section 58(1) of the Act.

The coalition calls upon President Tinubu to take decisive action to prevent further economic losses and ensure a thorough investigation into the allegations of corruption by the Chief of Naval Staff.

Additionally, the coalition alleges that Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla has failed to reassign personnel within the Nigerian Navy who are engaged in fraudulent activities. They claim that the Chief of Naval Staff benefits directly from these fraudulent practices and that the oil theft, procurement fraud, and other criminal activities are carried out by Navy personnel under the command of a corrupt Chief of Naval Staff who seeks personal gain at the expense of the nation's resources.

In conclusion, the coalition draws attention to the previous investigations and prosecutions of serving and retired military officers for economic crimes against the Nigerian state during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari. They highlight the lingering reputational damage suffered by the military as a result. The coalition implores President Tinubu to address the issues raised in their petition urgently, to prevent further irreparable reputational and economic harm to the nation.

The coalition submitted a well-documented petition that included an ample evidence to support their claims. The evidence was carefully compiled and attached as an annex to the petition.

The coalition remains committed to the fight against corruption and the preservation of Nigeria's resources for the benefit of all citizens.

Ali Bello: The Unseen Architect of Progress in Yahaya Bello's Legendary Administration

In the tapestry of Governor Yahaya Bello's legendary administration in Kogi State, one name resonates quietly yet profoundly—Ali Bello. A technocrat and administrative virtuoso, Ali Bello has been the invisible force behind the scenes, steering numerous successes that have defined the state's transformative journey.

As Governor Yahaya Bello's administration concludes on January 27, 2024, it leaves behind a legacy marked by a plethora of infrastructure and overall development in Kogi State. However, the first term, spanning from 2015 to 2019, was not without challenges. Heavy criticism emerged as the populace eagerly awaited the tangible dividends of democracy. While Governor Bello was fervently committed to infrastructural and rural development, his ideas faced resistance from some once-trusted allies and members of his administration. The divergence in priorities became apparent, with the governor emphasizing infrastructure while others leaned towards human capital development and political empowerment.

The turning point came with the intense campaign for Governor Bello's second term in 2019, a victory that solidified his commitment to the state's progress. As the whistle blew for his second term, ongoing projects were swiftly completed, and new ones emerged, transforming the state's landscape. Key projects such as the establishment of Confluence University of Science and Technology in Osara, the construction of the Ganaja flyover, and the establishment of ultramodern General Hospitals in Gegu, Isanlu, and the expansion of the General Hospital in Idah to a Zonal hospital began to take shape. At the heart of the execution of these monumental projects was the hands-on involvement of Ali Bello.

One remarkable example is the construction of the Ganaja flyover, a project initially rejected by Governor Bello due to its high contract cost. The previous administration had awarded the flyover project at a staggering cost of over ten billion naira. It was Ali Bello and his adept negotiating skills that secured TEC Engineering Construction Company for a more cost-effective deal, expanding the project beyond its previous design. The governor himself acknowledged that without Ali, the construction of the flyover would have remained an unattainable feat.

While other associates of the governor were visibly present around him and within the government house vicinity, Ali Bello stood out by being ubiquitous at all project sites, spanning from Kogi East to Central and West. His relentless commitment aimed at ending the era of subpar execution of contracts became the driving force behind the state's development.

This article aims to shed light on the unsung hero, Ali Bello, clarifying that any antagonistic disposition towards Governor Yahaya Bello's first tenure was not out of malice but a genuine desire for the well-being of the people. As a staunch observer of the state's affairs, it is imperative to commend those who positively influenced the change in governance. Ali Bello emerges not only as a catalyst for progress but also as a misunderstood figure. In his quest for transparent spending on people-centric projects, Ali became an inadvertent target of hatred and animosity, facing malicious victimization, orchestrated plots, and accusations. Despite the adversity, Ali Bello's diligent work, passion for excellence, and genuine dedication to the well-being of the people have played a pivotal role in the progress that Kogi State has achieved under Governor Yahaya Bello's visionary leadership.
