Politics / Plateau - How Tallen ,komsol Worked Against Tinubu's Victory At The Polls - APC by ogugwa1992: 1:23pm On Mar 02, 2023
"Urge Tinubu to reject Komsol's Congratulatory message"

Pass vote of no confidence on Tallen, Komsol

Group operating under the aegis of Concerned APC Youths in Shendam local government of Plateau state has accused the Minister of Women affairs Dame Pauline Kedem Tallen and Hon. Komsol Alphonsus Longgap, the Federal lawmaker representing Shendam, Qua'an-Pan and Mikang Federal constituency of colluding with the Candidates of other political parties to frustrate APC candidates and work against the APC in the forthcoming governorship polls .

They further alleged that both Tallen and Komsol worked against the Presidential Candidate of the APC now President elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu in last Saturday's election.

Addressing newsmen in Jos on Thursday ,the leader of the group Robert Hoomsuk , called on the President elect Bola Tinubu to reject the Congratulatory messages coming from Hon Komsol as reported in some online reports .

" They never want him (Tinubu) to emerge winner ,we call on the President elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be wary of this two politicans as they are working against the interest of APC in the state ."

According to the group " Our finding reveals that both the Minster of women affairs ,and Hon Komsol worked with “elements” in the Labour party for the Presidential Candidate of the Party Peter Obi in last Saturday's election and are planning to do so again in the forthcoming governorship polls.

" We feel very disturbed that the same Lawmaker Hon Komsol , who was given the opportunity to represent our Zone under our party, has been engaged in a number of anti-party activities, thereby undermining efforts being put in place by party members to win the 2023 election.

Also it's sad that the Minster of Women affairs who is serving under the APC would work against the party in the state by even sharing materials to her followers and asking them to vote an opposition party ,how wicked can that be ,they stressed.

“Since losing the primary election, Rep Komsol has stayed away from every activity geared towards mobilizing support for the party to win all elective positions, instead, he has verbally directed his followers to work for candidates of other political parties in the State.

"We call on the President elect to be careful with this two stakeholders who are working against the APC in Plateau state ."

" We have it on good authority that they are romancing with the opposition party in Plateau to ensure that APC loses all elections ".

"We are surprised at the attitude of both Pauline Tallen and Hon Komsol ,why would they be working against the party that sponsored them. ."

“We hereby call on the leadership of the APC to call Hon Komsol and the Minster of women affairs Tallen to order in order to retrace their steps immediately .

The group further added that Rep Komsol has also distanced himself from all activities of the party geared towards galvanising support for the party’s candidates in the forthcoming governorship polls ,

He doesn’t attend party meetings called by the leadership of the party at the State and Zonal levels; absconded from the local governments consultative tour in the zone and even his local government .

“For example, We gathered that the Rep member Komsol has vowed to work against the Governorship Candidate of the Party in the forthcoming general polls and this is frustrating the efforts of party loyalists.

“Secondly, the Rep member Komsol is in secret alliance with the opposition party and has also given verbal instructions to his followers to support the Governorship Candidate of the PDP in Plateau State as he did for the Federal house of representatives seat election .

The group said even though they are not worried about his anti party activities, “our decision to speak out is merely to put you on notice and for possible sanctions to be meted out in line with the constitution of the APC.

The group also passed a vote of no confidence on Hon Komsol and Paul Tallen.

Another remarkable testimony wrought at the Services is that of Rowena from the Philippines, who was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. For a long pain-filled time, she had difficulty breathing; could not walk unaided, and experienced fatigue regularly. When the Man of God ministered to her during the Healing Streams Live Healing Services, her health was restored, and the disease was dispelled in the Name of Jesus. Now, she is healed! Politics / How Akpabio Sold His Rerun Election To Ukarakpa In 2019 - Brother by ogugwa1992: 9:40am On Feb 21, 2023
Senator Godswill Akpabio has been accused of selling his chance to return to the Senate in 2019 to Senator Chris Ekpenyong, after the court had ruled a rerun in his favour.

In a viral online video, his brother - Mr. Ibanga Akpabio, revealed that manipulation of INEC and everything was done for him to win the rerun election ruled by the court, he sold the election to Ukarakpa (Senator Chris Ekpenyong) and boycotted the polls without informing anyone.

"Godswill didn't tell me as his brother, I was there when his Doctor and his SSS man asked me 'why are you not in this meeting and I asked which meeting? He said this one that Ukarakpa is meeting with Akpabio and Father Usungurua at Startun Hotel, Abuja. Godswill made every arrangement for whatever wether he went and said he has handed over, but I'm telling you that Godswill did not tell one person.

"Emman Inyangetor came and said ehn.... Oga had called everyone and Ukarakpa, they went and did everything, meanwhile Ukarakpa was telling me he is handling Emma Inyangetor well That he had settled him, you understand? So, at the end of the day, we were just left in the wilderness, we didn't know anything."

The former State Secretary of PDP, insisted that Senator Godswill failed that 2019 senatorial election woefully.

"Why did he fail? Prince sat here and told him that by the time you left for APC, the people you handed over Local Government Areas didn't go with you, okay you're calling people for example champions that they'll be incharge of Udom Emmanuel and handle everything, then when you left none of those people came with you, how then do you think you'll win, that's exactly what happened".

He therefore queried why Godswill should seek the senatorial district seat again in 2023 after all that transpired.

"Why should Godswill come out to contest for Senate at this point in time, is it for the unity of Annang people or for the unity of Akwa Ibom Northwest that includes the people of Ikono and Ini?
"I saw it on the paper the other day, they wrote "I'm not going to the Senate to become a Senator again he doesn't want to go and answer the name Senator, what do you want to go and answer? If not for the fact that you want to go and help your own home, your wife and children?

"He went for ministry and spent over six hundred billion, but one naira did not get to my house, in that three years over six hundred billion. But what I can always tell you people, if God did not bring him out to give this high jump, the money he would have taken home would have been much, have you heard what I said?"

You people must be very happy, because you see one thing is that there is how someone comes out just to make sure that he suppresses you. You have been a Minister of Niger Delta, you have been a Senate minority leader, you have been a governor, you have been a Commissioner, yet what you should allow to go to your brother, you want to take it.

He pointed out that Godswill will failed again just like in 2019, saying "I was with the results, Godswill failed that election woefully.

Business / Suicide Victim In Ogun State Was Not A LAPO Mfb Customer by ogugwa1992: 3:48pm On Feb 20, 2023
Contrary to the allegation in a trending video on social media and reported in some newspapers, the woman in Ogun State who reportedly took her life over her inability to pay back a loan was NOT a customer of LAPO Microfinance Bank Limited (LAPO MFB).

From our preliminary findings, which we are confident will be confirmed by an official independent investigation, she was a customer of a different financial institution, which the unsuspecting public misinterpreted as ‘LAPO’.

While extending our condolences to the deceased woman’s family on the tragic incident, we condemn this current effort to tarnish the record and corporate reputation of LAPO Microfinance Bank Limited through unverified and malicious allegations.

In recent years, there has been an increase in similar false allegations against LAPO MFB by persons who are pursuing an agenda.

Notably, one of the false stories was peddled by the same individual in the latest video making the rounds. LAPO MFB is exploring legal options against such purveyors of fake news, demarketing and other unethical practices.

We are confident that this smear campaign will fail like the previous ones because LAPO MfB’s track record of professionalism and the impact of our work at individual, business and community levels across the country over many decades is solid and well-known.

Our customer base of over six million, our status as one of the nation’s top five employers and our track record of transformative initiatives speak for us.

It is important to note that while we encourage beneficiaries of LAPO MfB loans to comply with the terms of their agreement with us by making prompt payments to ensure that others benefit, we pay attention to customers facing legitimate financial difficulties.

Even at the clients’ level, our renowned group lending methodology for micro clients provides a rallying point for group members to cater for themselves, instilling a supportive disposition of “one for all and all for one.”

We urge the media and the public to disregard these false reports. For information and clarifications on news reports on LAPO MfB, our services and other useful information, please email info@lapo-nigeria.org or call 08139040230.

Politics / Bayelsa West: Nine Senatorial Candidates Step Down For Senator Dickson by ogugwa1992: 4:36pm On Feb 16, 2023
Nine Senatorial Candidates for the Bayelsa West Senatorial District, have stepped down for the Senator representing Bayelsa West in the forthcoming National Assembly election.

The candidates of the affected political announced their withdrawal in a press statement issued at the end of a meeting with the incumbent Senator and Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, at Toru Orua, Sagbama Local Government Area on Thursday.

The nine Candidates who have collapsed their structures into Senator Dickson’s Campaign Organization are Ebikpolade Fuludu (ADC), Frank Odafe (AA), Alexander Pere, (ZLP), Dr. Joel Tubonimi, (NNPP), Chief Ikporo, (SDP), Amb. Victor Magbodo Ben (BOOT), Oweifabo Felix Ebikeme (AAC), Dennis Enebi Michael (APN) and Salo Orlando of APP.

The group of candidates said that the decision to back out of the race to support Senator Dickson was informed by the exemplary representation he provided during his brief period at the National Assembly.

Mr. Frank Odafe of the AA, who spoke for the group stressed that all the nine candidates had a fruitful deliberation with the bold, dynamic and articulate PDP candidate who governed the state for eight years and have decided to give him all the supports he requires to win the election.

He said that Senator Dickson is the political leader in Bayelsa, a leader in the state and indeed the Ijaw nation who brought so much development during his period as Governor to the area.

He stressed that it would be disrespectful to contest the election with him as he deserves all the support to continue with his quality representation.

“We, the nine senatorial candidates of different parties in the forthcoming 25th February 2023 senatorial election, have stepped down for Senator Henry Seriake Dickson in the contest for the Bayelsa West Senatorial seat.

“We are announcing our decision after a meeting on Wednesday 15 February,
2023 with Senator Henry Seriake Dickson at his country home in Toru-Orua, Sagbama LGA. Our decision is based on our acknowledgement of the quality representation that Senator Dickson has provided within his brief period at the National Assembly.

“We hereby endorse him as the candidate to represent Bayelsa West senatorial district at the National Assembly and pledge our total support to him.

“Some of us have already sent letters of withdrawal from the senatorial contest to INEC while others will do same following this meeting.” The statement read

Senator Henry Seriake Dickson who spoke to journalists shortly after the meeting appreciated the candidates for the decision to step down for him in the general interest.

The Senator directed the PDP Senatorial Vice Chairman. Mr Michal Magbisa to involve all party support in the final phase of the campaign in the various communities.

Politics / Akpabio Is A Saboteur, An Ill Wind Says Fmr Federal Lawmaker, Emmanuel Akpan by ogugwa1992: 10:10am On Feb 13, 2023
By Etim Ekpima

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State, Chief Emmanuel Akpan, has warned members of the party and concerned citizen of the state to be weary of the antics of Senator Godswill Akpabio, whom he fingered in the imbroglio rocking the party.

Speaking with our reporter, Chief Akpan, who described the former Governor as a fraudster, a saboteur and an ill-wind that blows nobody any good, said “Akwa Ibom State has outgrown that age where Akpabio’s political razzmatazz and intrigues moved the people. I had expected Godswill Akpabio to have learned from history. I had expected him to sit down and remain a kingmaker when the ovation was loud but it is a pity that my brother, Senator Godswill Akpabio is yet to know that he has come full circle in the politics of Akwa Ibom State.”

Chief Akpan, who hails from Ikot Udo in Essien Udim Local Government Area, went further to say “The cheat game and pull down mentality are part and parcel of Akpabio. He did same to Obong Nsima Ekere. H e tried it with his successor, Governor Udom Emmanuel, a man he claimed he brought from Lagos. Today, he is doing same to the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Obong Umana Okon Umana.
" Senator Godswill Akpabion has been a fraudster all his life and nothing can detach that virtue from him.”

“Instead of becoming a nationalist and a statesman through his position as Senate Minority Leader on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he relinquished it for his selfish reason.
He had another opportunity to have corrected the wrongs and heal old wounds but he jeopardized it. Another opportunity came when he vied as a presidential candidate of the APC, again he sabotaged it. We all know that Senator Godswill Akpabio has become a saboteur within the system that threw him up.
We are aware that Senator Godswill Akpabio has mobilized men and resources to rubbish Senator Ita Enang and Obong Umana Okon Umana within the party.
We are aware of the several media stunt and sponsorship that he has done. We are armed with all the details of the behind-the-curtains meetings.
We are aware of the finances that exchanged hands within the period. For a man to adamantly try to destroy what he labored so much to build shows the depth of wickedness embedded in him. Senator Godswill Akpabio sees everybody as a pawn on a chess board. He is an ill-wind that will blow no good,” Chief Akpan maintained.

Also speaking, a financial member of Itai Afe Annang, Abom Sunny Akai, said “Senator Godswill Akpabio is a dribbler that has been abandoned by his gods.
Even with his self-acclaimed Ahmed Bola Tinubu aura around him, he has dribbled himself. He says one thing straight and does eight wrong things. Only an evil minded person can do what he is doing. What he is using Stephen Ntokekpo to do in the State APC is testament to his craftsmanship.”

A youth activist from Amanyam Clan in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, Comrade Samuel Ukut, while frowning at the alleged pull down role played by Senator Godswill Akpabio, said “Senator Godswill Akpabio’s antics towards stakeholders of the APC has been revealed and it is no longer rumour. From his several meetings and sub-meetings, Akwa Ibom people can clearly see his handwritings.”

Comrade Ukut concluded by saying, “The hit on stakeholders of the APC through media blackmail and litigations have continued to prick my mind to the extent of asking: what does Senator Godswill Akpabio really want? That he secretly bankrolled the event is no news. That he is causing a high level of disaffection within the Ibibio, the Annang and the APC is no news. That he is stirring up serious political intrigues within the state is no news. What is news, for me, is: what does Senator Godswill Akpabio really want? Only time will tell.”

Politics / Group Exposes Akpabio's Plot To Distsbilize APC by ogugwa1992: 7:08am On Jan 30, 2023
... Group petitions National Chairman

By today, January 30 the Presidential campaign train of the All Progressives Congress, APC, led by the party flagbearer, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, his runningmate, Senator Kashim Shettima and national officers will stop over in Akwa Ibom State for it's rally, but may likely meet a completely distabilized state chapter, no thanks to Senator Godswill Akpabio's self serving and vengeful politic.

Akpabio, the National Vice Chairman of APC Presidential Campaign Council, has been accused of plotting to distabilize the party with his fractious antics which could destroy its chances in the forthcoming general elections. A youth group - APC YOUTH CAUCUS, AKWA IBOM NORTH WEST SENATORIAL DISTRICT, has written to the National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, urging him to call Akpabio to order.

According to the group, "Akpabo has gone completely beserk with his self serving plot to use threats and blackmail to coerce party stalwarts and members to do his bidding".

They disclosed that " from events currently unfolding, we believe the distinguished senator, who harbours obvious disdain for electoral process, is much after federal appointment knowing fully well that he stands no chance in the coming election. So, he has resorted to rubbing tar on everyone else just to stand out."

Furthermore, they accused the former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs of sponsoring party ward officers to write baseless petitions against chieftains upon which his stooge, Stephen Leo Ntukekpo, would then use as evidence to wrongfully suspend their victims without any form of investigation nor fair hearing.

"We have reasons to strongly believe that Senator Akpabo is currently planning a mischief against party elders from Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial district. He wants to hide behind some misguided youths to spread tar on our elders. Needless to add that such thoughtless venture against our leaders will only serve to fuel more crisis capable of further distabilizing the party." The petition read in parts.

He expressed disappointment over such unnecessary witch-hunting when serious efforts are being made to unite the party.
" We are appalled by such Machiavellian tactics which negate the essence of ongoing reconciliation efforts to unite our party and forge a common front ahead of elections."

They also alleged that Senator Akpabio has perfected plans to have some party youths attack the former minister of petroleum and APC chieftain, Atuekong Don Etiebet, during the presidential campaign rally, and therefore warned that "we have already set out a counter measure against any attempt to embarrass our political leader, however in order to forestall mayhem and further distabilization of the party, we thought it wise to bring this matter to your attention and urge you to use your good office to call Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio to order".

See full text of the open letter below:

Senator Abdullahi Adamu,
The National Chairman,
All Progressives Congress (APC),
40 Blantyre Cres, Wuse 2 904101,
Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.

Dear Chairman,

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH: SENATOR GODSWILL AKPABIO HAS GONE BESERK WITH SELF SERVING PLANS TO DISTABILIZE OUR PARTY

1) We, the concerned youth leaders, party faithful, supporters and canvassers, under the aegis of APC YOUTH CAUCUS, AKWA IBOM NORTH WEST SENATORIAL DISTRICT, have been constrained to write openly to intimate you of worrying events orchestrated by former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, which we believe may further distabilize, disintegrate and destroy the party chances at the 2023 polls.

2) As you are aware that Senator Akpabio's inordinate inert political power mongering (quoting our political leader, Atuekong Don Etiebet), fractious and divisive tendencies are solely responsible for the chaotic state of affairs within Akwa Ibom State APC. Now, Akpabo has gone completely beserk with his self serving plot to use threats and blackmail to coerce party stalwarts and members to do his bidding.

3) Aside leading a campaign of calumny against perceived enemies, Akpaboio is sponsoring party ward officers to write baseless petitions against chieftains in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, upon which his stooge, Stephen Leo Ntukekpo, would then use as evidence to wrongfully suspend their targets without any form of investigation nor fair hearing. We are appalled by such Machiavellian tactics which negate the essence of ongoing reconciliation efforts to unite our party and forge a common front ahead of elections.

4) We have reasons to strongly believe that Senator Akpabo is currently planning a mischief against party elders from Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial district. He wants to hide behind some misguided youths to spread tar on our elders. Needless to add that such thoughtless venture against our leaders will only serve to fuel more crisis capable of further distabilizing the party.

5) Similarly, we have it on good authority that Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio has instructed some misguided youths within his dwindling sphere of influence to attack our political leader and former Minister of Petroleum, Atuekong Don Etiebet, during the forthcoming APC Presidential Campaign Rally in Akwa Ibom State. We have been reliably informed that he has ordered that Etiebet and other party stalwarts from our senatorial district be booed and stoned during the campaign rally.

6) Consequently, we have already set out a counter measure against any attempt to embarrass our political leader, however in order to forestall mayhem and further distabilization of the party, we thought it wise to bring this matter to your attention and urge you to use your good office to call Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio to order.

7) We state categorically that from events currently unfolding, we believe the former minister, who harbours obvious disdain for electoral process, is much after federal appointment knowing fully well that he stands no chance in the coming election. So, he has resorted to rubbing tar on everyone else just to stand out.

8. Finally, Akpabio may have paid his way onto the ballot paper, aided by skewed judicial process and conniving corrupt officials. Nevertheless, be rest assured that the people of ABAK 5 (whom he has cajoled, abused and mocked publicly over the years) and their sympathizers across all the federal constituencies making up Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District, have unanimously pledged to vote him OUT. Also, we are on oath to defend our vote with every ounce of our collective will.

9) It is our prayer therefore that you expedite action to caution Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio against his cheap blackmail inecxeaass attack on our political leader or else we will not be held responsible for repercussions.

Please be assured of our highest esteem always.

Politics / 2023: Inec Disenfranchising Hundreds Of Thousands Of Prospective Voters by ogugwa1992: 8:43am On Jan 27, 2023
•••SEVERAL DULY REGISTERED PROSPECTIVE VOTERS FRUSTRATED AS THEIR PVCs ARE NOT YET PRINTED

The Indepedent National Electoral Commission is on the verge of disenfranchising hundreds of thousands of prospective voters in Nigeria unless urgent steps are taken to remedy a dire situation.

A good number of people who visited the Commission’s office in Garki, Abuja early this month were turned back without their Permanent Voters Card.

The Network investigation revealed that many prospective voters who transferred their voting units are affected as their cards are not yet printed by the INEC.

While some people were lucky to have gotten their cards, INEC officials simply told their less fortunate prospective voters that the cards were not printed.

The Network correspondent who was also affected, presented a slip from INEC after the transfer of his voting unit from Wuse Zone 5 to Gwarimpa in the FCT without any convincing explanation for the non availability of his new PVC by INEC officials.

The INEC officials simply said those affected should wait while admitting that producing PVCs is beyond them.

Disturbed by the increasing prospect of disenfranchisement, the Network contacted the INEC Commissioner in charge of Information and Voters Education, Mr. Festus Okoye, on January 6, 2023. Okoye read the message on WhatsApp but ignored him.

Okoye responded to another message sent to him on WhatsApp on Friday January 20, promising to check and revert.

Curiously, seven days after, Okoye has not provided any explanation on the predicament of those who successfully transferred their voting units to new locations with their cards still not printed as at date.

As it stands, the inquiry to the Commissioner for information and voter education of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Festus Okoye, did not yield any fruitful result.

Okoye simply said he would check and revert. Since then he has refused to respond to messages on the matter thereby signifying that INEC has no solution to the seeming deliberate disenfranchisement of eligible Nigerian citizens from voting in an election.

“Good morning Sir, I went to INEC to collect my PVC but was told it was not printed. I have done a successful transfer of the polling unit. Do I use my old voter card to vote in the new point or do I use it to vote in the former. I am confused now that the transfer has been made.

Please kindly advise at your own convenience what I should do in this situation where I am facing possible disenfranchisement.”
Thank you Sir.

Sadly, Okoye could not respond to the inquiry and has continually ignored all messages to him.

A similar message to the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of INEC, Mr. Rotimi Oyekanmi, did not yield any result.

The INEC Chairman spokesman neither picked his calls nor did he respond to a message to his mobile telephone on WhatsApp.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of INEC, Prof Mahmoud Yakubu has insisted that no eligible voter in Nigeria will be allowed to cast vote in the forthcoming general elections without a Permanent Voter Card (PVC).

Thousands of people whose cards were scheduled for printing but were not are facing disenfranchisement.

With the transfer of their polling units, their old voter cards seem to be invalidated. Even the INEC Commissioner in charge of information and voter education does not seem to have an answer to this situation.

Politics / Akpabio Behind Ita Enang, Umana Purported Suspension From Apc-group by ogugwa1992: 6:27pm On Jan 25, 2023
A social political group in Akwa Ibom State known as Progressive Ambassadors, has accused Senator Godswill Akpabio as the man behind the purported suspension of Senator Ita Enang and the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Obong Umana Okon Umana from the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The group described Senator Akpabio as a desperado who would do everything within his space to clinch onto power.

Addressing newsmen in Uyo, the leaders of the group Isantim Edet Ekpe and the secretary, Barr. Edidiong Ubong, described the purported suspension of the two party leaders as a laughable adventure from the desperate Akpabio.

The group wondered why Senator Godswill Akpabio, a political new comer in APC could assume the position of a god and wants everybody to bow down for him.

They likened Senator Godswill Akpabio as the devil who came into APC to steal, kill and destroy which the group leaders noted his entry into APC has destabilized the party to a zero level.

The duo recalled that the suspended leaders are Ibibio sons Akpabio has consistently fought over the years and would do nothing in ensuring their downfall.

“We can only see Akpabio as a drowning man looking for who to sink with. It was because of Akpabio’s high-handedness that the duo of Senator Ita Enang and Umana Umana left PDP to APC to just to avoid him.

“We can recall that during Akpabio’s eight years reign of terror, many sons and daughters of Ibibio nation were killed, maim and harassed out of office led by his wife, Unoma Akpabio.

“We are just wondering why Akpabio should use his stooge, the self-made state APC chairman, Stephen Ntukekpo and the factional chapter leaders of APC in Nsit Ubium local government area to cause havoc.

“We call on the world to know that Akpabio is the cause of disunity in Akwa Ibom State APC. He believes he should be worshipped by all and people should tremble at the mention of his name.

“ Every APC member in Akwa Ibom State is aware of the pending defeat of Akpabio in the 2023 election, but as a power monger, he would not rest at nothing to stay afloat by blackmailing his perceived enemies in order to get political soft landing-Ministerial appointment.

“We want to assure Akpabio that he will fail in his local government but Tinubu will win in most units within his political domain.

“We urge members of the public not to be deceived by the ongoing political charade sponsored by Akpabio and his men. It is a phase that will soon be put behind.”

Politics / 2023: Akpabio’s Unruliness Threatens Reconciliation In The APC - Youth Caucus by ogugwa1992: 9:00am On Jan 22, 2023
APC YOUTH CAUCUS, AKWA IBOM NORTH WEST SENATORIAL DISTRICT

PRESS STATEMENT

SENATOR GODSWILL AKPABIO'S UNRULINESS THREATENS RECONCILIATION, COHESION AND UNITY IN OUR PARTY AHEAD OF GENERAL ELECTIONS

Whereas the recent Supreme Court judgement of Friday January 20, 2023, affirming the former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Godswill Akpabio as candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District election billed for February 25 is a welcome development for our party, we are concerned with the lack of restraint displayed by the distinguished senator considering his latest derisive, repugnant and uncouth comments which threatens nascent reconcilation and unity of the party ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

We understand that the senator is in a celebratory mood, but this does not excuse his unguarded comment made via a recent post by his half-witted cocaine sniffing media handler, Michael Matthew, against party stalwarts, who are toiling to save the party from disintegration. Akpabio has refused to exercise restraint and warn his attack dogs to avoid inciting posts capable of truncating party cohesion at this critical period when we need all interests to merge and focus on winning the State for our presidential candidate, Ashiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, in particular and the All Progressives Congress, APC as a whole.

Barley a month before election commences, we had expected that Senator Akpabio, as the National Vice Chairman of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, to build on the foundation of peace and reconciliation recently laid by initiative of the Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs, Obong Umana Okon Umana, and to rally all stalwarts, members and supporters of the party towards overall victory of the party. Unfortunately, this is not on his agenda. Akpabio is more concerned with putting his name on the ballot than winning an election he does not stand a chance in.

We, therefore reject Akpabio empty threats against our brothers from Ibibio within the party. There is no room in the APC for ethnicity and parochial segregation. Lest we forget, Akpabio's inordinate inert political power mongering (quoting our political leader, Atuekong Don Etiebet), divisive tendencies and abhorrence for electoral regulations and procedure are solely responsible for the current predicament facing Akwa Ibom State APC. Yet, he continues to undermine the party with silly comments, illogical slurs and antics against his perceived opponents.

Since 2018, when Akpabio slithered into the party, our chance of winning at general elections nose dived from worse to worst. His attempts to balkanize the party and keep it disunited and weak serves only his selfish gain. When he should be leading the charge to drive the party to victory, he chooses to create problems that fuel infighting. We are aware of the blackmails, lies and posturing he employs to maintain his position, but a day of reckoning approaches and we will once again publicly reject him at the polls.

Whatever means he used to make his way into the Presidential Campaign Council, aiming to use such influence to further his self-interest, we will make the world to see that Akpabio's supposed prowess is grossly overated. No true Annang man or woman behaves with such cunning and deceit as Akpabio without repercussion. Since he did not learn his lesson in 2019, but lied himself up the national party hierarchy without genuine interest for the overall good of the party, we will put him where he belongs permanently - the dustbin of Akwa Ibom North West political history.

As such, let it be succinctly clear that as youths of Abak 5, we have made an all binding resolution to produce the next senator representing Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District. Subsequently, much as we are totally committed to working tirelessly for the success of our presidential, governorship and other candidates at the polls, we will not be hoodwinked again under any guise by Senator Godswill Akpabio - a serial liar and covenant breaker, to relinquish our rightful opportunity to produce a senatorial representative in this 2023 senatorial election.

Politics / We Have Not Canceled Presidential Amnesty Programme Scholarship Scheme-pap by ogugwa1992: 4:18pm On Jan 21, 2023
The Presidential Amnesty Office has dismissed speculations that it has cancelled its students’ scholarship scheme.

The Special Assistant, Media, to the Interim Administrator, Mr. Freston Akpor, said in a statement on Saturday that the PAP has not announced any outright cancellation of the scholarship scheme.

The PAP Spokesman restated an earlier statement of the office which announced a temporary suspension of the programme due to the huge debt profile of the scheme.

He stressed that the recent scholarship award carried out by previous leaderships of the agency were done without necessary budgetary consideration and planning with its attendant effects on the agency’s financial management.

Akpor noted that the leadership of PAP appreciates the place of education in the development of the Niger Delta and would do all to ensure the creation of opportunities for formal education for beneficiaries in the region.

“The attention of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) has been drawn to contents trending on various social media platforms with a rumored outright cancellation of the students’ scholarship scheme by the Programme.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the PAP had not at any time announced the cancellation of the scholarship scheme to eligible beneficiaries.

“According to an official statement issued by the PAP on 06/01/2023 which clearly emphasized that the Presidential Amnesty Programme scholarship scheme has temporarily been placed on hold due to financial contraints ocassioned by the huge debt profile associated with the Formal Education component of the programme.

“Evidently, the recent award of scholarships (not by the present management) were done without recourse to budgetary considerations and efficient financial planning thus having an adverse effect on the organisation's balance sheet.

“It will therefore defy any logical reasoning on the part of the PAP office to commence award of fresh scholarships without adequately restructuring it's current debts and effectively planing it's available resources vis-a-vis intended new programs.

“The PAP under it's current leadership recognizes and acknowledges the importance of education to the growth and development of the Niger Delta and will therefore not relent in doing everything possible to ensure that formal education opportunities are made available to beneficiaries of the PAP.” He said

Politics / Governor Udom Emmanuel Secretly Backs LP Governorship Candidate. -PDP Sources by ogugwa1992: 5:50pm On Jan 10, 2023
The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel is secretly backing the governorship candidate of Labour Party in Akwa Ibom, Uwemobong Udoh, this medium can authoritatively report.

Mr Emmanuel, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and chairman of the PDP presidential campaign, has donated a brand new bulletproof car to Mr Udoh as part of his support to the Labour Party governorship candidate.

According to market survey, the Bulletproof Toyota Land Cruiser 200 is valued around 175,000 dollars (over 80 million naira). The car is in addition to huge financial support the Akwa Ibom State governor is alleged to have given to Mr Udoh.

Governor Emmanuel's support for the Labour Party governorship candidate is said to be a back-up strategy for his successor plan should the PDP governorship candidate, Umo Eno lose the ongoing legal battle over his certificate.

We also gathered that Mr Udoh’s wife, Lydia Udoh is still retaining her appointment in state government as Special Assistant to the Governor on Marketing and Brand Management despite her husband’s ambition.

Governor Emmanuel, we further learnt, has also extended his funding support to the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi.

Reliable sources say Mr Emmanuel's support for Peter Obi came on the heels of his recent visit to the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike in Port Harcourt.

Governor Wike, who is at loggerheads with the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has been galvanizing support for Mr Obi. Mr Wike is the leader of five aggrieved PDP governors (G5).

Although details of Governor Emmanuel's visit to Wike were not made public, sources closed to the River State Governor, confirmed to our reporter that the two governors were unhappy over the ill-treatment they and other South-South presidential aspirants got from the PDP.

The source further revealed that the two governors agreed that Atiku Abubakar's ambition was an assault to the South-South as Udom Emmanuel promised to work from the background in support of the G5.

It is believed that Mr Emmanuel's support for Peter Obi is the outcome of his meeting with Governor Wike in Rivers States.

Our medium has gathered that Governor Emmanuel's support for candidates of Labour Party is not totally a secret as some members of the PDP in Akwa Ibom State are in the know and have expressed dissatisfaction over the governor's actions.

According to our source, members of PDP in the state who are aware of the Governor Emmanuel's secret pact with Labour Party, are particularly aggrieved over the outrageous amount of money the governor has spent on Labour Party while starving the PDP of funds.

Crime / IGP Doesn’t Have The Power To Sack Any Police Officer. - @segalink by ogugwa1992: 12:18pm On Dec 29, 2022
The responsibility lies with the Police Service Commission, whose duty is to appoint/recruit, promote and discipline the officers as empowered by the PSC (Establishment) Act, 2001.

It is quite unfortunate that as we speak the PSC has been rendered moribund based on a political conundrum and battle of interest since the Chairman & Chief Executive of the Commission resigned. There’s been a heated debate over following the dictate of the law on this matter.

From the counsel of those with whom I have communed over the years on Police matters, the intention of the lawmakers when they crafted the Police Service Commission Establishment Act, 2001 was to ensure the Commission is led by a balanced team of people that represented…

…a variety of interests and zones across the country in accordance with the Federal Character principles. See Section 2 of the Act, which states as attached:

Image
If you recall at the Senate confirmation of all Commissioners of the PSC; they were referenced based on the political zones they represented as attached. With the resignation of the Chairman, Alhaji Musiliu Smith; there’s neither a SW representation on the PSC nor Activity.

Image
Suffice to say all pending matters requiring the action of the PSC may be politically stalled indefinitely because of this gap and this include the case in point, where justice may never be seen as served neither would deference be seen as established to forestall recurrence.

It must be noted however, that the President @MBuhari has been briefed on this and as gathered, rather than make an appointment to fulfill the Federal Character provision of the constitution as required in Sec 2(1) of the PSC Act, he directed them to setup a committee.

The committee from all indication is not following the provision of the act in respect of the balance of zonal representation according to the PSC Act but seeks to nominate a former IGP from the South South thus disenfranchising the South West & creating a political conundrum.

It is important to state here that there is no provision in the PSC Act that a retired IGP must be appointed to the commission. In the past at the discretion of past Presidents, a few former IGPs had been considered leading to historical tensions between past Chairmen & the IGPs.

The position of the PSC Act is that the retired Chairman should be replaced by someone who represents the same interest (SW Zone) as he did and only for the remainder of his tenure (ending June 2023). See section 4(3) of the Police Service Commission (Establishment) Act, 2001.

Image
By implication, if the plot by the IGP, Minister of Police Affairs and other interest to contravene the provision of the PSC Act, 2001 succeeds, we are bound to have no representation of the South West on the PSC should a SW appointee be jettisoned to serve as chairman.

Exclusion of SW from the PSC to serve out the remainder of the tenure of the retired Chairman is bad politically in an election year especially for the APC and by extension for the justice delayed by the needless dormant state of the PSC at such a time as this.

Edo State already have a commissioner on the PSC (Braimoh Adogame Austin), and another representative from Edo (SS Zone) as proposed, to the total exclusion of the SW will be UNLAWFUL. The President should wade in and ensure the COMPLIANCE with the LAW.

Political interferences balkanize our institutions & this is one of the malaises plaguing the repositioning of the @PoliceNG If the law is contravened in the composition of a sensitive internal accountability mechanism of the Police, justice/discipline will be forlorn.

There is a reason why we facilitated the passing of bills and the assent of same by the President into Law (Police Act 2020 long before the Protest). The internal accountability mechanism was beefed up with the constitutional backing of the operation of the @PoliceNG_CRU

Check all the reports of the interventions and investigations of the Complaint Unit from 2017 till date and you will find within it the highlight of ALL the cancerous nodes long before they became a national problem (From IRT, SARS, Eagle Crack PH & even Ajiwe Police Station).

We recommend that the IGP pay proper attention to the reports of the @PoliceNG_CRU as failure to do so would be to ignore critical Early Warning Signs. The efficiency of the unit with the collaboration of the FPRO @Princemoye1, @AcpIshaku & all State Command PROs is commendable.

So beyond throwing tantrums and demonizing the Police, understand their inherent operational and political conundrums and let’s give them the necessary Political Will to fix the political issues plaguing the full implementation of its REFORM for the sake of all our children.

As we speak the Memorandum for the appointment of the replacement Chairman at the PSC is gathering dust at the Presidency & no priority is given to it because of the politics surrounding the compliance with the provision of law. The Internal Accountability of Police is on Recess!

We all MUST add our voice in the spirit of patriotism to the full implementation of the Police Act 2020 with emphasis on the adherence to the provision of Law. Without the @PoliceNG being on the right track, we have no Civilization whatsoever!

Politics / PDP, APC Should Sue Peter Obi For Plagiarising Their Manifestoes – @segalink by ogugwa1992: 12:20pm On Dec 06, 2022
The lead convener of the EndSARS movement, Segun Awosanya, popularly known as Segalink, has called on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to sue Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi for plagiarising their manifestoes.
Peter Obi, after much delay, finally released his manifesto on Saturday.

However, reacting to the release, Segalink, via his Twitter handle, called on the two major parties to sue Peter Obi as the “cut and paste is horrendously and criminally negligent.”

He wrote, “I hope the @OfficialPDPNig and @OfficialAPCNg would find time to sue @PeterObi for plagiarizing their manifesto. The cut & paste is horrendously and criminally negligent. Including the design layout and the payoff of the APC in 2011. He has zero representation in NASS yet 95% of his fantasy would require huge advocacy cum legislation (something he has no track record of engaging or supporting) & the assumption that he can have his way by dreaming it is delusional. In my view the manifesto proves his lack of preparedness & depth.”

Politics / Akpabio Knows About Oba's Ordeal With EFCC by ogugwa1992: 3:41pm On Dec 05, 2022
There is absolutely no way the former Minister Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, can honestly deny his involvement in the current ordeal of Senator Bassey Albert with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He may beg to be counted out of the scandal, but discerning minds are aware that Senator Akpabio was involved at every instance right from the initial case in Lagos, at the point of reintroduction of case by EFCC at the Federal High Court in Uyo in 2019, up to the point of conviction few days ago.

Akpabio, through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Jackson Udom, claims he "was not even aware that Senator Bassey Albert had any existing case with the Economic and Financial Crime Commission ( EFCC) not to talk of having knowledge of the facts of the matter". However, available facts show that between 2013 and 2014, when Akpabio felt slighted by OBA's audacity to challenge his choice of successor, he sacked OBA and threatened to deal with him like Absalom.

These statements were repeated by the former governor at different fora, which made many think then that there could be an attempt on OBA's life, but after intervention by traditional rulers and statesmen, there was a peace accord. Incidentally, Akpan was invited to Aso Rock, where then President Goodluck Jonathan foisted a senatorial ticket on him.

Unknown to OBA, Akpabio had hatched a more sinister plan against his ambition by forwarding incriminating documents about him to Leo Ekpenyong.

Now, Mr. Leo Ekpenyong, the serial petitioner, is notorious for his predatory attacks on politicians in Akwa Ibom. General perception among citizens is that he does this to extort money from them. Akpabio's apologists have suggested that OBA's ordeal stems from the petition from Mr. Leo Ekpenyong to the EFCC. But, this is half truth because although this was the hand of Esau's, the voice was certainly Jacob's. There are evidences to proof that Leo Ekpenyong dropped his petition against Akpabio, and afterwards he was seen a couple of times with the senator.

It is also common knowledge that Ekpenyong's petition against Akpabio was for far more serious financial crimes, which where later abandoned by the antigraft agency, when he crossed over to All Progressives Congress, APC.

For those who do not know, in 2018, when Akpabio decided on his uncommon defection, OBA was offered absolution from these charges and infinite suspension of the case as incentive to join APC with Akpabio, but he refused. Consequently, a year later, the matter was taken up afresh by the EFCC and since then, OBA has been in and out of court to defend himself untill he was recently sentenced.

What Akwa Ibom people should know is that whatever gimmick anyone later played, using opportunity presented by the case to have him jailed has its source from Senator Akpabio, who has repeatedly shown deep hatred for Ibibio people and their leaders. Only a naive observer would dwell on the judgment without considering how the matter started.

It is more like Leo Ekpenyong and Godswill Akpabio created a plot which led to OBA's downfall.
