Car Talk / Tribute To Minister James Ocholi: What To Do When You Have A Tyre Blowout by oineoma(m): 6:13pm On Mar 07, 2016
WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU HAVE A TYRE BLOWOUT

In the event of the unfortunate death of Nigeria's minister of state for labour due to an accident occasioned by a tyre blowout and the fact that in Nigeria now-a-days, we have many untrained drivers, it has become pertinent for me to write this.

There are 6 simple steps to take within a maximum of 2 minutes and you will be safe, these by the grace of God I have been familiar with for decades. They are as follow:

(1) DON'T PANIC in the event of a blowout, calm yourself down fast because your car will start misbehaving and you need to take charge.

(2) Hold FIRMLY to your steering wheel with both hand, NO VIGOROUS TURNING, as you concentrate on the road and your mirrors, in seconds study the movement pattern of the car. Your car will naturally swerve to the direction of the burst tyre.

(3) Gradually take off your foot from the accelerator, DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO PRESS THE BRAKES, IF YOU DO, YOU HAVE A 95% CHANCE OF A SOMERSAULT. The car will decelerate gradually while you concentrate on the road to avoid collision with any other road user.

(4) Disengage the gears of the car by shifting to neutral (N) as you still maintain a firm grip on the sheering wheel and put your eyes on the road.

(5) After a while depending on your initial speed, your car comes to a speed less than 60km/h when it is now safe to GRADUALLY apply the brakes and navigate to the side walk

(6) Ultimately, it is now safe to put the car to a complete stop and turn off the engine. You have just saved yourself and passengers from untimely death.

NOTE:
Of course, everyone in the car will be in a panic mode BUT this is NOT THE TIME TO LISTEN TO THEM, it is TIME TO CONCENTRATE.

Please, don't just read share on your page and copy to other platforms, you may just be about to save a life.
I pray thàt God will continue to keep us safe as we use the roads, amen.

Phones / NETFLIX Vs Kodi TV. by oineoma(m): 4:30pm On Jan 11, 2016
Whats your take on this? NETFLIX against KODI,
as for me, Kodi all the way, the movies are HD, you have the luxury of pause, rewind and even watching later anytime you like. From series, latest movies to soccer!
This you cannot achieve with NETFLIX, not with the crappy nature of our data allowances and speed.
With KODI, life is limitless, you dont even have to pay like you would Netflix.

Computers / Here's How You Can Get Windows 10 Right Now by oineoma(m): 12:19pm On Jul 31, 2015
If your Windows 7 or 8/8.1 computer hasn't gotten the Windows 10 upgrade yet, don't panic: Microsoft is rolling it out in waves of customers at a time, so it may be a few days, weeks, or even months.

But it'll be there for you, sooner or later. It's even downloading in the background for many users, ensuring a faster installation process.

There are two reasons for the "wave" strategy: ........

Car Talk / Re: Using Water From House Air Conditioner Inside Care Radiator by oineoma(m): 8:03pm On Jun 11, 2015

Coldplay007:

Most (or all) coolants in the nigerian market are premixed. So you don't need water.. That's why everybody have been screaming coolants...
Don't bother yourself with the stress of gari, sapele or AC water grin, Just get the premixed coolants...
Are you kidding me? Already mixed? As thick and slushy as it looks? But the notice on de cans says to mix with part water, ive even seen a thread on this room befor about mixing 50/50% water and coolant..
Do u ve any particular brand in mind?
Car Talk / Re: Using Water From House Air Conditioner Inside Care Radiator by oineoma(m): 3:05pm On Jun 07, 2015
FlyboyZee:

I don't know why you guys are haranguing the OP? He didn't say he ain't using no coolant? The requirement is to always use a 50-50% mixture of coolant-distilled water, if you ain't using a premixed coolant. All he is asking is whether it is okay to use the water discharged from the a/c at home in place of distilled water and you guys come sounding off as if he ain't gat no idea about coolant.
I was expecting to see analysis of why we should/shouldn't use the water discharged from a/cs in place of distilled water. Just like the analysis on treated (tap) water.

I tire o.. I doubt if anyone in naija does not use a coolant. I didnt think it should be a question among car experts.. coolant is not up for discussion, its the water we re lookin at. @ Prodigy.. thanks for the update..
Its strange not many talk about water from A.c used in radiator. I believe when u mix it with coolant it ll keep the temperature of engine at excellent level, plus it protects engine life. More contributions guys!
Car Talk / Re: Using Water From House Air Conditioner Inside Care Radiator by oineoma(m): 4:54pm On Jun 06, 2015
Thanks but, We re talking water.. not coolant. U cznt use only coolant in ur car can u? U need water. So its the choice of water am trying to look at.
Car Talk / Using Water From House Air Conditioner Inside Care Radiator by oineoma(m): 3:54pm On Jun 06, 2015
Whats our take on this? I heard its better to collect water from your air conditioner at home and fill up radiator with instead of the regular water. The Idea is the water has been properly professed and doesn't have salt inside unlike the regular water that can sediment into whitish salt in radiator. Whats the take?

Car Talk / Re: Firing The Engine Every Morning B4 Movin Out; Good Or Bad habit by oineoma(m): 6:15pm On Oct 29, 2014
The idea came from the days of the Peugeot 505 and its brothers. Rev your engine to clear the carburettor of all dust and get enough fuel supply down the fuel pipe. Mind you, the louder your engine sound the healthier it is believed to be grin grin
