A lot of people are in this situation right now. I know 3 people who are confused already. They sold first batch, and when trying to sell further, they got insufficient error.

These people are the ones dragging price down.

In my case after a moved my transcorp(which I bought @less than 1naira some years back) to Meristem I bought more and then average was around 11 naira. Post reconstruction my average price dropped to 8naira and now am seeing over 400% increase. Anyone that sees that and did not look at money value will definitely attempt selling.

It's people like @megawealth01 that will have 1000% actual paper increase and still dey hold

That could actually be the case because that thing has done 1bn already, people are packing it seriously. Meristem just sent a message about the reconstruction as well, maybe it's to alert their customer that may be selling thinking they've made money

You need to start portfolio rebalancing like me.This is what I have been doing since this yr.I have now 19 and still want to go down to 12.

Unless the capital in each is huge, it's not so profitable to split funds into several stock. I am also trying to reduce my portfolio size, currently below 20 stocks. Hoping to keep it within 10 in the long run

When Transcorp is listed. Just divide your holding by 4. That will be your new holding but with a x 4 price.
Let's see how the reconstruction will go.

Meristem is still doing magic with mine, they are yet to divide the holding. I shock when I saw my account balance after login today as 3m turned 15m

I started buying Nigeria stocks after I discover this thread.

I have learnt a lot from the good, the bad and the ugly. I take every side of discuss very seriously here.

One thing I have personally realised is that to make good money on the NGX, one need to invest at least a million naira per stock on your portfolio. Some stock movement might not happen again in a lifetime.... When these big moves happens, it ought to set you up financially but if you invest little, the share price fantastic movement will only give you peanut.

I was reviewing my portfolio this morning, I realised that my Ellah Lake shares have done almost 100% ROI but Na just one bag of rice I can buy with that fantastic movement. I used only about 2% of my portfolio to purchase the Ellahlake.

I don't want to make that same mistake with Access Bank.

Yes indeed, but more importantly selling at the right time after holding can be a skill to develop. I got 100k units of Oando with 1.2m but sold 95% @ less than 25. My first Bank shares were bought @5 but it has just 500 units left in it.

Ultimately timing is the most difficult and unpredictable part of this business and no one can claim to be perfect with timing the market but I believe one can work towards perfection.

Aradel is now at 500 o, where are those that were waiting at that price, have they bought yet? Looks like the govt denial has affected the stock

Let us come down to 2006 Oando public offer was almost N100, I bought Aradel in 2016 for roughly N200.

If Oando returned me minimum of 10% per annum from 2006 to 2016 the share price ought to be over N200 after 10 years

I don't want to imagine the units and start calculating. there is value in investing in the right stock I guess. You have given example of bad and good.. Oando is yet to get to your buy price over 20 years later; what an irony of life. Perhaps picking bright future stock in the present is also gamble and luck.

Please don;t give up on my Access. This is just half way, they were in a similar situation last year. But, they came out stronger in the last quarter. Just look at it as a marathon race.

But, the FBNH that is trying, why are they yet to transform the improvement to dividend. Dividend for full year 2023 is yet to be paid while all others in this category had announced interim dividend for 2024. I had longed replaced my FBNH with Fidelity Bank

The former CEO was alive then, while one tree does not make a forest I feel something left access with the exit of that man
