One would be forced to wonder how this women had advanced so high to the peak of their careers in a male dominated industry. A quick peek reveals that we have over 8 women who are currently manning the affairs of top most bank in Nigeria amongst which are;

• Miriam Olusanya – GT Bank.
• Yemisi Edun – FCMB.
• Halima Buba – SunTrust Bank.
• Ireti Samuel-Ogbu – Citibank Nigeria.
• Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe – Fidelity Bank.
• Tomi Somefun – Unity Bank.
• Kafilat Araoye – Lotus Bank.
• Yetunde Oni – Union Bank
• Sola David Borha – Stanbic IBTC
• Bukola Smith – FSDH Merchant Bank, and most recently Bolaji Agbede who took over as the CEO of Access Holdings following the death of Herbert Wigwe who passed away in a helicopter crash at California close to the Nevada border in the United States of America.

The question is, if there is a deliberate attempt to make women take over the helm of affairs of the banking industry. Going through these women’s profile reveals nothing exceptional about them. There is also an underground rumor for those in the banking industry of how women are highly favored and advance quickly through the ladder compared to their male folks. We hope these allegations are not a as result of the feminism needed to succeed in this sector as so wildly alleged. This is also a wakeup call to the current Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria to be on his toes and make concrete policies and reforms as one won’t be surprised if suddenly his job been taken away from him and a woman replaced as the Governor of the CBN.

While we wish them a successful career, we hope that they would use to their positions to advance the banking sector to international standard of repute.

Report has it he became depressed after securing a business loan and was unable to payback due to harsh economic environment and hardship with doing business.

He drank sniper mixed with other concoctions after lodging at a hotel somewhere in garki. His corpse has been identified by the police and now at the morgue. May his soul rest in peace.
