Use UC browser or a pc, i got mine from there through mega.

2. No way to do that. You'll need to root and backup ur rom using mtk droid tools.

I have gotten the 3 files, the flash tool, the Adb driver and the 800mb+ Upgrade file, do I extract all on pc including the 800mb+ file below or just the other two and leaving the later as it is on pc before commencing the steps?


Secondly, is there a way to back up a ROM without rooting the device first?

No. They work just fine.

Apps that require a wake lock to stay in background, like BBM that has to have that notification in the status bar will be removed though.

For me it still works even when not in status bar at times. But I think that's what that chap is complaining about.

Apps like Gmail or whatsapp for example, don't have this requirement and will always restart and work fine.

The reason why that BBM does not restart for example is because people asked for the behavior of OOM groupings to be changed during the beta program of this rom, they were shouting about ram consumption.

That's why they changed that flag to make sure when u remove apps from the recent, it also kills the app completely. But many apps normally will restart their service quietly.

Two examples I can give e of apps that will be killed is Internet speed meter and BBM.


My point about the lollipop is, it's either the devs let it work normally as Google designed, which usually means all apps will cache in RAM permanently, or you change the feature to be killing apps. Depends on the device devs

Matter of fact, the reason this one is still consuming more battery than the kitkat is because of the apps that keep restarting in the background. If they left that ram setting like it was, by now the battery will be the same


But then again, even at that, I'm not sure why he feels the need to always clear the recent. The OS will manage and prioritize it's ram as appropriate. Having free ram does nothing for you.....

Interesting, so people complained of RAM issues and the last update was rolled out to take care of that but unfortunately taking a toll on the battery, means some peeps who care less about some apps like bbm, instagram and some other RAM eating apps would have simply uninstalled and would have had a better battery performance and RAM management with the previous upgrade?!!

Guys, is there a way I can back up my present stock kitkat ROM without having to root it first?

You don't get it my broda, i av downloaded rom said to be infinix Hot Note Pro kitkat stock ROM of 1gig, flashed it only for my phone not to power on, I had to flash back d lollipop, well i went further again to havotek downloaded wat was also said to be d stock rom flashable able again with sp Flash. Of 885mb my broda I cudnt even flash dat successfully as it complains one or 2 files are missing, so my phone refused to power on again, i had to flash back 0925 lollipop Rom..

So i tot if there's any possibility of restoring d cwm backup I made on kitkat b4 i upgraded buh stil my bro na same story.

E don tire me.

No! You'll receive notifications. I do receive all necessary notifications while screen is off. RAM Management is superb. Just that kitkat retains battery than lollipop.

oh Okay, that battery is an issue, I hope they do something about it.

This was not the scenario you were painting since. You made it sound like even if the apps were in memory u could not get notification.
If you clear your apps from recent on Lollipop they stay killed unless they are coded to always restart themselves. Which will simply kill your battery.
If that's the complaint, then you will never use a version of Android above Kitkat.
Why are u clearing them from memory really? Are they disturbing you in the ram or you are just obsessed with free ram?

Interesting, so does this means that notification would not be received from apps like gmail and emails including whatsapp and some others except they are opened down and minimized? If Yes, is that how it is on all lollipops?

Wonder why you are the only one complaining about this.
You probably have some setting turned on somewhere that's stopping notifications.

It's either the Standby network management feature is on, or Power saver feature which turns off data whilst screen is off.

Or as usual you are using free browsing tricks...........
Open VPN for example has settings that pause data when screen is off............

I flashed the touch recovery after updating to the latest 0925 version. But i can't flash SUPERSU. ALWAYS installation aborted. You know what the problem might be?

And the latest version of king root doesn't work on it?

I always wanted to go back to the KK version of Hot Note pro... I was fed up with L becos of the System UI has stopped and Majorly the RAM consumption, but after this 0925....boy or boy... Lollipop Forever...
I run like 4 apps before and it cosumes up to 1GB+ but now... RAM consumption is cool.... See image below..

Another positive testimony, smh. Abeg some help with a working link to download the upgrade for the 16gb,2gb version,couldn't get from many links I have tried.

if you would like to maintain your lasting battery, control over 3g-2g connection, getting your notifications at the nick of time, do not upgrade to lollipop. you can deny it, but even the 0925 version is not stable

Lollipop 925 is very stable compared to other sub-versions.
The major reason people using hot note/pro are downgrading back to KitKat it's because of FIFA 16. The games run almost smoothly on the stock rom but force closes on lollipop.
So if you really want to play FIFA 16 on your hot note/pro you'll have to downgrade. If not just enjoy your lollipop.

I dont know why some ppe downgraded to back to kitkat. I may have had my doubts after i used the previous version. But after the latest 0925 update. I don't have any reason to think of going back.

Really, guys here have been very confusing, I am stuck at whether to upgrade or not, seeing people reversing back to kitkat. What do you say and which of the notes are you using?

Optimized RAM.
Smoither UI.
Cant say anthing about the battery for now.

Olx can easily scam people, all these looks link scam to me, its easy to get fake device from there so I have heard.
