JAMB to Scrap The Use of Scratch Cards for UTME Registration and Results Checking

The board’s Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyode announced on Tuesday the 20th day of September, 2016 that the Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB), will cancel the use of scratch cards to register for and check UTME results.

Speaking at the National Executive Council meeting of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) in Abuja, he said this would begin next year.

Some Students were noted to be generating PIN number for themselves from their phone or computers before registering for examinations, he said.

He said that JAMB would not support a situation where banks and vendors hoard the cards, only to sell them at a higher price

He also challenged NASU to get involved in the ownership of Computer-Based Testing Centres.

However, what was expected to be steamy session turned tragic after he reportedly started gasping for breath before collapsing into a heap.
The terrified girl screamed, attracting students and hostel wardens who ambulated him to the health unit. It is alleged Ricky had earlier on shared his tribulations with some of his friends with whom he brainstormed and came up with possible solutions.
“He was desperate to turn around things for the better and finally redeem himself after friends shared with him tips. He took the pill and washed it down with alcohol, hoping it would help him give his best and eventually win back trust and favour from his girl,” a friend who sought anonymity told SDE
The source admitted that they had asked around for the pills, which they hoped would salvage the relationship.
“He had lately been depressed and frustrated, after his girl threatened to dump him, for falling short of expectation during intimacy. We are not sure if he took an overdose, because we were told they are not harmful when taken in the right dosage,” said the terrified friend.

“Thank God he is still alive, we were really scared, cases of men who have given up the ghost after using the pills wrongly are rife,” he added.

Finally i can relax after finishing the stressful
registration process and begin as a regular
student. The only thing remaining is getting my
I.D card which i know would be in my possession
any thing a week from now. It’s the second
Thursday of the schools resumption, @ around
7am the school is crowded with different people
from different part of Nigeria moving from one
place to another for one thing or the other. I went
to a nearby store and get myself something to
eat, then roam around my new school, so full of
pride that i’m in the University. I was about
turning to the other side of a building before i
bumped into someone.

I went to the bank withdrew some money and
went to purchased stuffs for my room, it took me
to Saturday before i got everything in order. Now
i got a nice room to my satisfaction, anything
else would be additional.

Monday came so fast as i hurried to class for my
first lecture. I got in 20mins before the lecturer
arrived. He came in, greets us, told us his name
which is Morgan Okoro then he did some
introduction of the course then left. Noise aroused
in the class as they share pleasantries and
introduce themselves to each other. I just left and
get something to eat and wait around for the next
lecturer.
After an hour of waiting, the lecturer didn’t show
up i head home straight. I wasn’t feeling hungry
so i just relaxed on my bed. One thinking led to
another then i decided to call Esther but she
didn’t pick up after two trials. I started thinking
about my life, who i want to become, what i want
to achieve then i realized that my life doesn’t
conform as a player, i want to be real, nice as
everyone thinks and get a real girl. I concluded on
staying away from Esther as she doesn’t fit my
standards.
The day ended and the next became the

She has always sought the perfect evidence to nail him. I made up my mind to let it all go, at least, hoping it would put an end to all her tears.

I woke up with a headache the next day: I must have been thinking really hard until I fell asleep. I jumped out of bed like a man who is late for a bank interview. I must let my mum know about everything I saw last night. I headed towards the door, opened it, and saw my father standing outside my door. I almost bumped into him.

What is this man doing outside my door? I wonder how long he has been standing there. I hope he is not trying to block my move. I didnt even bother to greet him; he didnt deserve it.

hmmm Emeka, where are you going?” he asked suspiciously, a finger stroking his goatee.

“No where,” I rudely replied, looking at the Tupac poster in my room.

” I understand son,” he said, ” You and I need to talk like father and son, you…know, trash things out. About last ni..gght…”

My mum interruptedm his speech with a hug from behind and a kiss on his cheek.

” Morning hubby,” she said romantically, a big smile on her face.

“Morning sweets,” he replied, running his fingers through her hair, and locking eyes with me.

” Good morning mama”, I said cheerfully, “how was the night”.

” It was nice, slept fine, though I couldnt find your father in bed later, ” she said, still hugging my father from behind, and rubbing his chest.

My father interrupted immediately before I could get to talk.

” am sorry honey, I woke up in the middle of the night, thirsty and exhausted, had to get some chilled water from the kitchen.” he lied.

He looked at me with a smile on his face, locking eyes with me, like he was searching my soul. He knew I was about to expose him anytime soon.

” Mama, I want to see you, we need to talk,” I pleaded with my mum.


“Hope no problem,” she inquired, with a worried face.

” Noooo problem…Dear,” my father interrupted again. ” He is just worried about his birthday. Emeka’s birthday is in next week, March, 22.”

My mum jumped up with excitement. She hugged me tight and apologised she didnt remember. I didn’t even know my birthday is next week.

My mum headed back to the kitchen, leaving me with my dad alone. We locked eyes, and he laughed, holding his pot-belly with both hands:

” Hahaaha small boy, you can never expose me to your mother.”

I realized he had played a fast one on me. I gave him a long hiss and slammed the door in his face.
