NOETHNICITY: Here’s a refined, clearer version while keeping your tone and message intact:
You people can be funny sometimes.
Many years ago, my best friend and I applied for a federal government job. When it was time for the screening, interviews, and tests, he refused to go because he believed it was impossible to get an FG job without connections. I did everything I could to convince him to at least make an effort before drawing conclusions. He even promised to show up—but he never did.
Ironically, he had a better chance than I did, with his BSc and his brilliance.
Lo and behold, I got the job, and he has remained jobless to this day.
So please, stop discouraging people from trying things that could lead to positive outcomes.
Let him write an anonymous letter describing the location and the people involved.
If you’d like it more formal, more persuasive, or more concise, I can adjust it! This is off-topic, but my bro, next time learn to use chatgpt better, lol. |

My Take on Nnamdi Kanu’s Life Sentence
Yes, the court says it acted based on the charges, but the truth is that this goes far beyond legal arguments, it touches real emotions, long-standing history, and the genuine frustrations many people in the Southeast have lived with for years.
What makes this even more sensitive is the clear imbalance Nigerians keep noticing. We’ve seen convicted terrorists in other regions receive lighter sentences or be branded “repentant,” while cases linked to the Southeast seem to attract the strictest punishments. For a region that already feels marginalized, this only strengthens the belief that they’re not treated the same as others.
And this concern isn’t just limited to the Southeast, many Nigerians can see the inconsistency, and it’s part of why trust in the system keeps dropping.
Personally, I think this moment calls for calm and honest dialogue. A heavy sentence alone won’t address the deeper issues behind all of this. Nigeria needs fairness, unity, and sincere engagement, not decisions that risk widening an already existing divide. |

Enough of the talks, abeg! The real question is, how can we trust you when it’s the same old politicians and recycled faces being reshuffled? These are the same people that put Nigeria in this mess. Who really did us this bad, 9ja? Gosh! To be honest, what’s happening in Nigeria right now feels like a cycle we’ve seen too many times, rising prices, policy shifts without clear impact, and citizens left to carry the burden. It’s disheartening, but not surprising. What worries me most is how survival has become the daily focus, rather than growth or progress. I strongly believe Nigerians deserve better than “managing” through every storm. We need leadership that listens, policies that reflect reality on the ground, and a system that values people over politics. Until then, resilience alone won’t be enough. |

Ibkay32: With a moniker like yours, how do you expect genuinely innocent people to feel comfortable connecting with you for friendship? It’s one thing to make a connection, but it’s another to turn around and make people uncomfortable with inappropriate behavior. That’s exactly why people say a good name is better than silver or gold. Your username alone is enough to raise eyebrows and discourage sincere interactions.
Honestly, if you’re serious about building meaningful friendships or connections, you might want to consider changing that name or creating a fresh account altogether. Presentation matters, and first impressions go a long way. No offense—just speaking from a place of concern and reality. Wow, you really took that one to heart! Honestly, the name is just playful, nothing inappropriate or deep. I honestly hope you’re not reading my moniker the wrong way though. Because, It simply means Òkò ìyá yín, your mother’s husband. It’s a common joke in everyday Yoruba circles, not something to be overanalyzed. If that’s already too much for you, then you’re probably not the kind of person I’m hoping to connect with anyway. I’m looking for easygoing, fun, and open-minded people who know how to enjoy life without overthinking harmless things. But no hard feelings, thanks for your input! |

Senkasa: Please help me sir. I'm ready to follow the religious route sir. Desperate times calls for desperate measures I beg you sir. Gambling have taken me five to ten years back sir Lol Do you want to lose more money to fake prophets? Don't let anyone deceive you, there's nothing spiritual about gambling. It's all about mindset! |
Romance › Re: Bet9ja Virtual Soccer Have Finished Me. How Do I Quit? by okoIYAyin(m): 6:02pm On Apr 13, 2025 |
Senkasa: Hello everyone. I'm in my mid twenties and at the most critical point in my life. I finally found the courage to speak out.. they say a problem shared is a problem half solved.
I started playing bet9ja virtual soccer around 2013/2014.. and I first quit around 2018/2019 then I started again around 2023.
When I resumed again in 2023, my plan was to recover my losses.. but the more I play, the more they chop me. Bet9ja virtual have destroyed my life. I quit my work, sold some properties and spent all the money my friends and siblings sent me to recover my losses in bet9ja but nothing worked. I find it hard to let go of the money bet9ja have taken from me this year alone which is why I keep going back there.
This year alone 4 or 5 friends and family have sent me over 200k and bet9ja have taken it all.. I feel angry honestly.. I'm in a deep pit and I want to stop digging but will I ever forgive myself for the money I lost to bet9ja? A friend promised to give me 100k but gave me 50k first to complete it this week and last night I lost the 50k to virtual soccer.. I need big help.. I'm d y I ng in silence
From January 2025 to april 2025 this year, I have lost 400k to 500k in playing bet9ja virtual soccer. I don't play any other form of gambling except bet9ja virtual soccer. Once a friend or family member send me 40k or 50k, I'll enter bike and rush to town to recoup the ones they chop me last time.. and I'll still end up losing everything. I have lost 40k/50k under a day or two highest (it has happened like thrice this year)
I have sold my properties and lied to my mum because of bet9ja. The only thing I haven't done is to steal or borrow to play bet9ja. I don't drink, womanize, steal or even smoke or do hard Dr u gs.. bet9ja virtual soccer have ruin Ed my life.. where do I start?
The shocking part is that last year while I was still working and secretly playing bet9ja, my mum's pastor told her to tell me to stop playing bet9ja. He said that my luck is not in gambling.. that I should stay clear from anything gambling. I don't know how he knew sef and my mum asked me if I'm still playing it but I denied it sharperly.
I need help to stop bet9ja virtual before it sends me to grabe please. I don't want to tell my mum because she's hypertensive. I don't want to loose her please. I want to be useful to myself please.. I'm the only son.
Is there anything I can do that will restrict me from playing gambling for the rest of my life (spiritually)? Can I take an oath or covenant not to play virtual soccer? I need serious advice please.. not all those stop going to bet house because I don't even remember anything gambling when I'm broke.. infact I use to write down my goals and plans but once money enter my hand, I'll rush to bet9ja in town (I don't play it in my area) to recoup my previous losses.
I need advice from my senior brothers and sisters in the house please.. the day I stop bet9ja virtual soccer or gambling in general will be the happiest day of my life.. I'll never forget anyday I quit it. Where do I start at this point?🙏🙏 I used to be like you a few years ago, maybe not as hooked as you are now, but I understand the struggle. I managed to quit on my own by simply making the decision to stop and staying away from it completely. From what I’ve seen, most people succeed in quitting by replacing the time they’d normally spend betting with something more productive. In your case, having an accountability partner could really help. If you don’t mind me asking, where are you based? |

press9jatv: nope you are wrong here. It’s: 1. adelabu of Apc - Ibadan zone 2. Teslim folarin of Apc - Ibadan zone 3. Ogundoyin of Pdp - Ibarapa zone 4. Senator Fatai Buhari of Apc in Oyo zone I want to believe you're quite versatile in politics, but let me ask, how well do you really know Oyo State politics? Let’s assume all of that checks out, now let’s be brutally honest with ourselves. If APC holds its primary today, between Adelabu, Teslim Folarin, and Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, who do you think would clinch the ticket? We both know the answer. As for PDP, even though I’m seriously rooting for Ogundoyin, being young and looks somehow decent, the truth is, his chances of securing the ticket are slim compared to the established heavyweights in the party. Where are the heavyweights in the party from? Ibadan! |
Politics › Re: 2027 Guber: Why There Should Be Zonal Rotation — Oyo Stakeholders by okoIYAyin(m): 10:24am On Apr 11, 2025 |
As an Ibadan indigene who truly believes in fairness and equity, I’ve always wondered why leaders from Oke-Ogun and Oyo zones have stayed silent for so long. Yes, most political heavyweights in the state are from Ibadan, but that shouldn’t make the governorship seat an Ibadan birthright. Power rotation isn’t a radical idea, it’s about equity and inclusion. I genuinely hope that come 2027, Ibadan politicians will step back and support a credible candidate from outside the city. That’s what progress and unity look like. This might sound funny, but I honestly wish I could align with a top politician from one of these zones. I believe I have a strategy that could actually help them win. Unfortunately, it’s looking like the major parties may stick with Ibadan candidates again, Adelabu in APC and possibly Ilaji in PDP. It doesn’t add up, but like we say, it is what it is! |

Domainer1999: I believe religion is a tool invented to placate those that have been struck with the unfortunates of life and promise them a state of eldorado in Afterlife.
Those that had encountered the negatives of life as regards their biological, environmental and natural make up.
It then become a potent tool in the hand of those wielding it on those they controlled hence you see that most religious rules only applies to the weak and low lives of the society and never those that have survived most life chaos.
It’s also a great tool to strike fear in human since its ultimate goal is to fear something/someone no one ever see but believes in his existence.
The only excuse I give for its reality is ‘afterlife’
I believe if someone truly creates this world then, there should be afterlife to balance the injustices and oppression of this world.

Have you been to Lagos? Lmao, how exactly is Lagos developed? I really want to know please. Now, this is a another significant issue because many people misunderstand what true development entails, which is why we often praise governments for achieving only the bare minimum. |
Family › Re: Why Nigeria Is Underdeveloped? by okoIYAyin(m): 2:53am On Jun 23, 2024*. Modified: 3:36am On Jun 23, 2024 |
yemmit90: Lolz, dey play. Education is not the reason we are underdeveloped but our cultures and traditions. Do I even need to mention numerous highly educated people in the public services that are hopelessly corrupt. These are professionals who earned their degrees in both Nigeria and first grade universities abroad.
The reality is that, black man cultures, particularly ours in Nigeria are exploitative and domineering ones. Every single soul in Nigeria are out there to oppress and make the other ones worship and beg for crumbs. You can take anything out of a black man but you can never take this innate attitude out of him.
In summary, everyone want to be king in order for others to worship, and the only way to achieve this is by holding an economic power and denied others the privilege to be like him. I am so sorry to say, we are not different from the same leaders we are blaming today. It is not our fault, but what we are by nature. Although you made some valid point but I'll not entirely agree with you. Are you saying over 200million people will behave and act the same way? Definitely not! In as much as I've seen most of everything you highlighted in so many individuals but at the same time in this same country, I've seen people that are completely selfless and want the best for other people as much as the want for themselves, I believe I'm one of such people. What this means is that, we definitely still have people who can get to power and make serious change. Forget the numerous educated people that are highly corrupt, all of that can be easily dealt with by having the right people in power. Now i must say i do agree with the OP to a great extent. Our education system shouldn't even be called an education system in the first place, there's nothing being taught in our schools that can drive development of a nation in any way, I believe we both can both agree to this. A nation's development and progress hinge on a multifaceted approach where education plays a pivotal role. While intelligence contributes to productivity, it is not the sole determinant. The interplay of quality education, socio-economic conditions, infrastructure, technology, cultural practices, and collaborative efforts creates a conducive environment for sustainable development. By focusing on these areas, a nation can unlock the full potential of its people and achieve significant advancements. In conclusion and to address the topic from my own viewpoint, I believe both the government and the people play crucial roles in developing a nation. The government creates policies that shape the economy, education, healthcare, infrastructure and others. It allocates resources and funds projects that support national development, and provides legal frameworks and ensures stability, which are essential for growth. On the other hand, individuals drive innovation and start businesses that contribute to economic growth. The people's skills and labor are vital for implementing development projects, and active participation by citizens in democratic processes holds the government accountable and drives social progress. A nation develops effectively when both the government and the people work together towards common goals. All of these can be achieved when a significant number of individuals with high intelligence quotient are present among both the citizens and the government. Sadly this is something missing in our dear nation. |
