NYSC › How's Life In Enugu by okoIYAyin(op): 12:12am On Mar 17, 2022 |
I've just been posted to Enugu state for the NYSC programme. I'm from the South west and this is my first time going to the east. I remember how I've always wished to serve in the East because i really love the Igbo's, but the general insecurity in the country plus everything going on in east now, like the unknown gunmen, sit at home order and all that is really scaring me off now, infact i just want to stay and serve here in the south west, at least i know this terrain very well. But the thing is some part of me still wish to go to the east because i do really want to learn more about the culture, people and language. So I'm just trying to look for every info i could get about the state, how's life like generally over there and also how's it like for corpers in the state. Every info will be really appreciated. |

South Africans barely leave theur country enmass like this cos despite their challenges, their country is conducive. Despite their challenges, they didn't leave because they're more patriotic and believe they can collectively makes their country better. If lot of Nigerians can be like that too, we would be better than how we are today! Believing the government will do everything for you is a very stupid idea TBH. |

i dont even know whom to blame. You cant blame Putin for trying to protect his sovereignty and territory. Neither can you also blame Ukraine for wanting its own freedom. America will never tolerate any nearby country joining the league of islamic nations or allowing iran to come and build a base in Mexico. Seriously you make the perfect sense so far! Government job is not secure bawo, so you're saying a new government will comes and start sacking people? lol, unless you tender fake credentials for the job sha. And also, most of you needs to stop this silly mindset, like the country will totally collapse after 2023, it just doesn't make any sense. Back to topic, hey OP, i wouldn't advise you to take a loan for travelling out as you don't know what the future holds for you in the country you're going to. So, first of all you literally don't have enough money atm to move to a better country unless you don't mind the small european one's, you should continue saving as much as you can and move when you have enough. |

tensazangetsu20: Life is much better in developed countries but they still have a much higher number of anti-natalist than us Africans. To exist is to suffer. Theres too much needless suffering in this world that can be mitigated by people not just existing. If you really think too much suffering in the world can be mitigated by people not existing, it's like thinking there would be no meat in the world because vegetarians decided not to eat meat. Is that ever possible? No, unless you're saying people shouldn't exist in the world at all. Well as we all know, we're brought into this world as a result of two individuals selfish choice, so you should understand that life is all about CHOICES, yes we don't get the chance to make our preferred choices before coming into this world, but we do get the chance to make it after getting here. Even if the world is filled with people that have it all, there's still no guarantee that there wouldn't be needless suffering caused by selfish people whose choice in life is to be evil, it is all up to us to make a choice between good and evil. Well life isn't fair as we all know but i believe if the world can be full of selfless people then i think life might have been fair! |

efficiencie: If life were a paradise you won't be an "antinatalist". If life were sweet and wonderful you would vilify anyone who decides not to bring as many children to this world as possible. Your complaint is circumstantial. Whereas the circumstances we see today is a direct consequence of the collective decisions of men and women globally? Our world is messed up because it was messed up by people like you and I. And people mess up the world because they have the choice to decide whether to be altruistic or be selfish and more often than not humans choose to be selfish. Hence at the root of your concern is the power to choose...and only men and women wield this power and hence only they are responsible for the ugliness of our world today. The almajiris of the north were created by religious men and women of the north and any attempt to address it will ultimately fail. The criminality in the south was created by corrupt leaders embezzling public funds, parents glorifying materialism above character and failed education/religious institutions that uphold rote learning and financial incentives above thorough cognitive, effective and psychomotor development.
Deciding not to have children is not the solution rather deciding to play your part in building a generation of problem solvers who will by sheer courage, dexterity, integrity and uprightness bring the needed change our world needs.
Today people are rushing to Canada, US etc forgetting that the people in these countries worked together to fix their country and make it beautiful for all. You will not feel afraid to have children in Canada for example...but you will most certainly ne afraid to bring a child into a country like Somalia. You nailed it bro! Nothing more to say. End of discussion!!!!!! |

And from what you've written, i can see you've killed someone before, probably even more than one. Omooo! The truth is you're a very bad person and if i have to tell u the bitter truth, it'll be hard for anyone to completely forgive you around here, we Nigerians don't have that kind of a big heart, everyone you've hurted have only let go of it simply because they couldn't get back at you cos of the kind of person you're. I really don't have any sort of advice for you, but one thing i can tell you is you've got a chance to change your ways now and if you still don't, nemesis will surely catch up with you someday! |

favor914: Always asked, I understand the democrazy we practice in our country, unlike the general masses in Nigeria, Which you just so happen to be amongst that are ignorant to The LFN, & choose to assume? When, it is all about the states.
Until the masses learn to hold their states accountable, Nigeria as a Nation will never move forward @ the pace that it is meant to.
Same way you blamed Jonathan, President Buhari has come, you are still looking for a scapegoat to blame?
If I asked you what you or your state produces which adds to Nigeria’s GDP you wouldn’t be able to mention any? You want to benefit, but don’t want to contribute, is that not the height of mental laziness? Four bottles of chilled beer for u bro with a very big plate of asun . Seriously many times i wonder why many of our compatriots doesn't realize that the governor are more closer to the people and even has a lot to contribute for the betterment of the country. Everytime, federal government yen yen yen, personally i believe until majority of us really understand how the politics of the country works, that is the only time we can have a real chance at a serious change because it is only then people knows what they deserve and also who exactly to hold accountable. Funny thing is we keep clamouring for good governance but many of us don't even understand how governance works, many can't even differentiate the role of the house of rep and that of house of senate. And to think many of we the youth that are supposed to be involved in politics with all of our outbursts on the internet, prefer to just sit in a corner and expect a miracle to just happen that will make the country fully developed, smh! Well i believe last last, everybody go later get sense sha |

nelsonoba: I can see you've been soaking the propaganda from CNN or BBC. So any natural disaster that now happens is due to "climate change"?? Did natural disasters just start happening recently? Are you aware that even as far back as 2000years ago when Jesus was physically on earth, there were already occurrences of natural disasters like earthquakes and floods? How come the bible mentioned it that in the last days there shall be wars and rumours of war, famines, earthquakes, etc? If natural disasters weren't already happening in the time of Jesus, then how come the disciples understood what Jesus was talking about when he warned about earthquakes? So you're part of the people who thinks climate change is a mere propaganda, lol. Well I'm not saying natural disasters started happening now, I'm only saying it's getting worse due to climate change. You can research on that or continue to believe whatever you want to believe, it's your choice brother! |

Travel › Re: Haunting Photos Of Canary Islands Covered In Toxic Ash After Volcanic Eruption by okoIYAyin(m): 2:37pm On Dec 22, 2021 |
TheRealOwner: Volcanic eruptions aren't due to climate change o. They have been happening for millions of years even before life on earth started.
They just happen several decades and sometimes centuries apart so most people won't know that they are living near or on a volcano because nothing is happening.
This is how new land forms too in the ocean floor and gradually builds up till forms an island
All the big islands in the oceans are formed by accumulation of eons of volcanic activity building up on each other
https://www.britannica.com/science/volcano Volcanic eruptions are often discussed in relation to climate change because they release CO2 (and other gases) into our atmosphere. According to new research, the rapid rise in sea levels could cause a dramatic increase in volcanic eruptions. Now what is causing rapid rise in sea levels? Climate change. There you have your answer!!! |

ArchiLtd: I learnt his parents bought the gun for him as a Christmas present, just 4 days before the shooting. Until America gain some sense and tighten down on their gun laws, this will keep happening. Since it's ok for anybody to walk into a gun shop and purchase a firearm as if he's purchasing shawarma, someone you don't know if he's a psycho or clinically depressed with suicidal tendencies, you just freely give him a firearm and he can do whatever he wants with it, then when it happens they start sending thoughts and prayers with candlelight vigils and using "we're strong" slogans.
