SportsBarcelona Receive Seven-figure Pay-out From Lionel Messi Reaching World Cup by okoIYAyin(op):
Barcelona are set to receive €3.88million (£3.35m) after 23 current and former players appeared at the World Cup in Qatar including Lionel Messi.

The Argentina captain, 35, left Barcelona to join Paris Saint-Germain in August 2021. As per an agreement with the European Club Association (ECA), FIFA must pay clubs $10,000 (£8.13k) per day for the release of each player competing at the tournament in Qatar.

Yet this figure will be divided between every club each player has represented between August 2020 and the present. As such, Barcelona are owed a chunk of the money accrued by Messi's participation in the World Cup, which will end with the final on Sunday.

Messi's Argentina reached their second World Cup final in eight years after beating Croatia 3-0 at the Lusail Stadium on Tuesday. Lionel Scaloni's side will face defending campions France after their 2-0 win against Morocco at the Al Bayt Stadium on Wednesday.

According to calculations made by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are owed around £2,800 of Messi's daily rate. They will also pocket the full amount from current stars Jules Kounde and Ousmane Dembele reaching the final with France.

The other Barcelona players to appear in Qatar are Memphis Depay, Frenkie de Jong, Robert Lewandowski, Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Eric Garcia, Sergio Busquets, Gavi, Alejandro Balde, Jordi Alba, Ansu Fati, Pedri and Raphinha.

Messi isn't the only former Barcelona player to earn the club some cash at the World Cup. Antoine Griezmann, who returned to Atletico Madrid in August 2021, has reached the final with France - while Brazil's Dani Alves was part of Xavi's side last season.

Luuk de Jong, who spent last term on loan at Barcelona, was a member of the Netherlands' squad for the tournament, while Martin Braithwaite was called up by Denmark after the Camp Nou in September. The final two players to make Barcelona some money are Sergino Dest and Abde Ezzalzouli, who are on loan at AC Milan and Osasuna respectively.

Messi won't be too concerned about Barcelona's bank balance, as he prepares to play in his second World Cup final. Argentina's talisman, who lost the 2014 final to Germany, has admitted Sunday's game will be his last for his country in the prestigious competition.

Messi told reporters: "I am very happy for finishing my journey in World Cups in a final, to play the last game in a final. That is really very gratifying. Everything I lived in this World Cup has been emotional, seeing how much it has been enjoyed in Argentina.

"There are a lot of years from this year to the next one. I don't think I will be able to do that. To finish this way is brilliant... We are going to do our best, as we have done up until now, so that this time it really happens - we really win it.

"I have been enjoying it the past few years, being with the national side. I am really enjoying everything that is happening to us... I hope the people in Argentina enjoy themselves and what we are doing. They shouldn't doubt we are giving absolutely everything."

PhonesNCC Reveals List Of Unapproved Phones In Nigerian Markets That Should Be Avoided by okoIYAyin(op): 10:32am On Dec 04, 2022
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has cautioned consumers against the patronage and use of devices that have not been approved.

The commission also announced tough sanctions on marketers selling counterfeit devices to Nigerians.

NCC stated this in a statement after its team arrested one Yahaya Ado of Gezawa Communications Limited for selling counterfeit Gionee devices.

Ado, NCC also revealed was unable to show any evidence of authorisation granted to the company by the commission.

NCC, in its statement, warned that the unapproved devices have negatively affected the quality of experience while leaving their users vulnerable to losses and other discomfort.

DailyTrust reports that the NCC’s Head of Enforcement, Mallam Salisu Abdu, who led the team, expressed concerns at how the GSM Market on Beirut Street, Kano, was awash with counterfeit and non-type approved phones.

Here is a list of unapproved phones in Nigeria;

Gionee branded phones with model numbers G800, and L990;

H-Mobile phones with model numbers it5606+, and H351;

Meanwhile, the NCC website has compiled a list of 1,891 approved phone types from various manufacturers.

The phones listed are those made by Nokia, Apple, Fero, Motorola, Huawei, Sony Ericsson, Itel, LG Samsung, among several others.

TravelUK Explains Reasons For Surge In Visa Applications By Nigerians by okoIYAyin(op): 11:30am On Nov 21, 2022
The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Laing, has explained why there has been a surge in the number of Nigerians applying for visas to the United Kingdom (UK) in recent times.

The UK envoy had attributed the increase to the fact that the UK, which likes to welcome talent, had become an attractive destination for Nigerians, especially students to study and work.

This was made known on Sunday by Laing while appearing at a News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) forum in Abuja.

Liang said that there are people of Nigerian origin in the UK and as such people will like to go to where they have family and friends, adding that the English Language makes it a lot easier.

Increase in visa application: Laing also revealed that the increase in application for student visas by Nigerians was due to the change in policy, which now allows master’s or PhD up to a minimum of 2 years to work in the UK upon the completion of their programs.

She, however, in her speech, noted that the UK government was mindful of the situation and was in talks with the Nigerian government to avoid causing a brain drain, especially in the health sector.

The UK envoy said,

“You know, there are obviously people of Nigerian origin in the UK. So, people like to go where they have family or where they have friends. Secondly, the English language obviously makes it a lot easier.
“Third is education, and people who have studied will want to return. And I think you know, we are a welcoming country and we want to welcome talents, whether it’s people coming to study, or people coming to work.

“So, a lot of Nigerians will be tuned to the UK and we have seen actually a very big increase in requests for Nigerian student visas. That is partly because we have changed our policy.

“So it is now easier for Nigerian students to remain after their studies; they can stay I think up to two years if you have done a master’s or a Ph.D., which will enable people to look for work after they have studied.

“We have a labour shortage in the UK at the moment. But we have to balance that because we do not also want to be responsible for a massive brain drain from Nigeria because you also need talented people.

“So the health sector is an example where there are a lot of Nigerian medics, both nurses and doctors in the National Health Service.’’

CrimeOyo NURTW Leader Auxilliary Arraigned For Vandalising Tinubu, APC Billboards by okoIYAyin(op): 11:55am On Nov 19, 2022
The leader of the proscribed National Union of Toad Transport Workers (NURTW) in Oyo State Mr. Mukaila Lamidi (aka Auxilliary) has been arraigned for allegedly vandalising campaign billboards of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and some other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the state.

Tinubu is the presidential candidate of the APC in the 2023 polls.

According to the charge sheet, Auxilliary was arraigned on a six-count charge bordering on wilful destruction of billboards of APC candidates in Igbo-Ora and Ido areas of Ibadan.

He was dragged to court by the Commissioner of Police.

At the hearing on Thursday, tens of his supporters stormed the Ibadan North East Local Government premises of the Magistrate Court to solidarise with him.

Amotekun personnel were also mobilised to provide security for the court and the council facilities.

The charge sheet shows that Auxiliary was being prosecuted for “Malicious damage and Conduct likely to cause breach of the peace and thereby committed an offence Contrary to and punishable under Section 517 of the Criminal Code, Cap 38, Vol. II, Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000.”

He was alleged of committing the offence on November 13.

While the vandalised Tinubu’s billboard was said to cost N1.2m, that of the party’s candidate for Ido/Ibarapa East Constituency Aderemi Oseni was valued at N3 million.

Auxilliary was alleged to have committed the offence along with some others who were at large “in a manner likely to cause breach of the peace by destroying APC Political Party billboards.”

After pleading ‘Not Guilty,’ to the charges, the magistrate Taiwo Oladiran granted him N500,000 bail and two sureties in like sum.

Hearing was adjourned to February 2, 2023.

Auxiliary is the chairman, disciplinary committee of the Park Management System (PMS), a task force introduced by Governor Makinde to manage activities of NURTW in the state after he (Makinde) proscribed the union.

His name has been a recurring decimal in the drivers’ union violent activities since 2003 with several people calling on the Governor to stop his involvement in park activities as he is believed to be violent.

He was convicted of murder during the tenure of former Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

He completed his jail term shortly before the end of Ajimobi’s tenure in 2019 and immediately joined Makinde’s supporters

Thank you for your input boss. I have paid my acceptance fee already and before one can defer, you will have to pay the school fees. Do you see this is not something to work with.
The issue I have in my plan is wrong timing. Even, if I'm able to obtain the loan, I can pay once by December or better still pay monthly as the case may be. And that's why I'm seeking how to go about it considering the option of online lenders like loan apps and so on
You really need to make better enquiries about what you're saying. I don't believe any school will ask you to pay tuition fee before deffering an admission, isn't lack of tuition payment the whole point of deffering in the first place?

PoliticsRe: One Nigeria Is Impossible by okoIYAyin(m):
Prettygirl200:
I had a dream that Nigeria was divided and it was so real, frankly speaking one Nigeria is not working, we have tried to love each other, we've tried to remain united but each time we try the northeners are always against it, since we have tried this method for deacades and it isn't working then division is the best option.
Imagine a country with over 300 tribes, a country that one part of it's region opresses the other, a country where there's isn't love you expect that country to be one and grow? NO!!!

A wrong foundation has been laid already by the colonies and the only way to correct it is through division, the northerners feel they love themselves so much and they also feel they are entitled to everything in this nation therefore it's better they go their way so they can use that entitlement mentality and religious bigotry to rule themselves.
The igobos should also get their own country, I know and I believe they will do absolutely well if they form their own nation bc they are intelligent people. The yorubas too since most of them are divided amongst themselves it's also better they go their way. While we the south will do well and manage our oil well.
This is just the thought have always had and have always wished for, if this forthcoming election is rigged there might be war and it will cause the division cause we already know who the winner is ,have had this dreams severally. If it's not rigged and the man that the youths wants emerges he will rule and after his tenure this division will still happen, WHY? Bc ONENESS isn't WORKING!! This is my thoughts and wishes don't know about you!!!
Hello you! I stumbled upon your post somehow and it's probably the most silly thing i've seen on the internet in a very long time. At first, i was going to lambast you because your post reeks of stupidity, but upon seeing your responses, i thought i should advise you because it's obvious you're only ignorant just like an average Nigerian. Young lady, there's nothing wrong in having a whole different view about a matter but one thing that should be very important for you to note is the way you portray your opinion especially in a public space like this, it's actually not for anyone's sake but for your own sake, so you don't look stupid every now and then. Please take serious note of this!
Now, back to the main discussion, it's obvious that you don't even have concise knowledge about the matter you have raised. Before you bring up a matter like this, you should be so sure you have a basic knowledge at the very least about the history, general view of the matter among many others, and this can only be achieved by conducting a serious research at first. But instead of you doing any of that, you came on here as a dumb frustrated Nigerian trying to force your mediocre thinking on others and also expecting others to just go by your views, that's just so funny!!! With your replies so far, i've realised that trying to argue this matter with you will only be a waste of my time, so i will rather just tell you the bitter truth. You see this great nation called Nigeria, it's never going to break up or get divided in the next 100years at the very least, because the forces holding it together is just so bigger and greater than anything you can think of. So i'll simply advise you further to dead any belief you might be hoarding that it's going to break up anytime soon and start thinking of how to better your life and contribute to the betterment of this great nation. Also you need to get out of your community and explore the country at large so you can be able to see other tribes in different ways and forms, and then you'll realise that your shallow opinion about them is just so wrong.
CrimeLagos Court Jails Italian Widow Over Property Claims by okoIYAyin(op): 9:08am On Oct 11, 2022
A Lagos State Special Offences Court, Ikeja, has convicted and sentenced an Italian woman, Floriana De Stefani, to three years’ imprisonment for laying claim to property belonging to a company, Waterside Properties Limited.

Justice Mojisola Dada, who handed down the verdict on Friday, gave her a fine option of N50m.

According to the court, the widow used forged documents to claim where she was a tenant following the demise of her husband, Mr Luca Signorelli.

She was found guilty of count six of the charges bordering on the use of false documents and counterfeit seals, which she used to confer ownership of the property on herself.

Initially, De Stefani was arraigned on five counts on March 30, 2019, and later re-arraigned on six counts of amended charges, as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission dropped the criminal charge against a co-defendant, Stella Ogboru.

The convict was charged with offences bordering on forgery, stealing of property and use of false documents and counterfeit seals.

One of the amended charges read, “That you, Floriana De-Stefani, sometime in 2015, within the Ikeja Judicial Division of this honourable court, dishonestly converted for your use property known and situated at No.14A/B Warring Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, property of Waterside Properties Limited.

Another count read, “That you, Floriana De-Stefani, sometime in 2015 in Lagos, within the Ikeja Judicial Division of this honourable court, with dishonest intention, forged documents titled, ‘Deed Of Assignment’ dated 1983, allegedly prepared by Rosamond O. Bakare: purported to have been entered between Mr E.A. Lowo on behalf of Waterside Properties Limited, on the first part, and late Lucas Signorelli and Mrs Floriana De-Stefani, on the second part.”

She pleaded not guilty to the charges as trial commenced in 2019.

Counsel for the convict, Babatunde Ogungbamila, pleaded for mercy, saying the aged Italian and widow was a first-time offender who was misled by her former lawyer.

Justice Dada also ordered the release of the property to Waterside Properties Limited within three weeks.

She was given an ultimatum of three weeks to pay the fine or else serve the jail term.

In most cases, it may not be approved again or may take months to be approved.
Thanks for your input, appreciate it! At this point, it is advisable i use a plug that can help fasten the whole process or should i just make up my mind and go back to my initial state of deployment
