Barcelona are set to receive €3.88million (£3.35m) after 23 current and former players appeared at the World Cup in Qatar including Lionel Messi. The Argentina captain, 35, left Barcelona to join Paris Saint-Germain in August 2021. As per an agreement with the European Club Association (ECA), FIFA must pay clubs $10,000 (£8.13k) per day for the release of each player competing at the tournament in Qatar. Yet this figure will be divided between every club each player has represented between August 2020 and the present. As such, Barcelona are owed a chunk of the money accrued by Messi's participation in the World Cup, which will end with the final on Sunday. Messi's Argentina reached their second World Cup final in eight years after beating Croatia 3-0 at the Lusail Stadium on Tuesday. Lionel Scaloni's side will face defending campions France after their 2-0 win against Morocco at the Al Bayt Stadium on Wednesday. According to calculations made by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are owed around £2,800 of Messi's daily rate. They will also pocket the full amount from current stars Jules Kounde and Ousmane Dembele reaching the final with France. The other Barcelona players to appear in Qatar are Memphis Depay, Frenkie de Jong, Robert Lewandowski, Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Eric Garcia, Sergio Busquets, Gavi, Alejandro Balde, Jordi Alba, Ansu Fati, Pedri and Raphinha. Messi isn't the only former Barcelona player to earn the club some cash at the World Cup. Antoine Griezmann, who returned to Atletico Madrid in August 2021, has reached the final with France - while Brazil's Dani Alves was part of Xavi's side last season. Luuk de Jong, who spent last term on loan at Barcelona, was a member of the Netherlands' squad for the tournament, while Martin Braithwaite was called up by Denmark after the Camp Nou in September. The final two players to make Barcelona some money are Sergino Dest and Abde Ezzalzouli, who are on loan at AC Milan and Osasuna respectively. Messi won't be too concerned about Barcelona's bank balance, as he prepares to play in his second World Cup final. Argentina's talisman, who lost the 2014 final to Germany, has admitted Sunday's game will be his last for his country in the prestigious competition. Messi told reporters: "I am very happy for finishing my journey in World Cups in a final, to play the last game in a final. That is really very gratifying. Everything I lived in this World Cup has been emotional, seeing how much it has been enjoyed in Argentina. "There are a lot of years from this year to the next one. I don't think I will be able to do that. To finish this way is brilliant... We are going to do our best, as we have done up until now, so that this time it really happens - we really win it. "I have been enjoying it the past few years, being with the national side. I am really enjoying everything that is happening to us... I hope the people in Argentina enjoy themselves and what we are doing. They shouldn't doubt we are giving absolutely everything." Ado, NCC also revealed was unable to show any evidence of authorisation granted to the company by the commission. NCC, in its statement, warned that the unapproved devices have negatively affected the quality of experience while leaving their users vulnerable to losses and other discomfort. DailyTrust reports that the NCC’s Head of Enforcement, Mallam Salisu Abdu, who led the team, expressed concerns at how the GSM Market on Beirut Street, Kano, was awash with counterfeit and non-type approved phones. The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Laing, has explained why there has been a surge in the number of Nigerians applying for visas to the United Kingdom (UK) in recent times. The UK envoy had attributed the increase to the fact that the UK, which likes to welcome talent, had become an attractive destination for Nigerians, especially students to study and work. This was made known on Sunday by Laing while appearing at a News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) forum in Abuja. Liang said that there are people of Nigerian origin in the UK and as such people will like to go to where they have family and friends, adding that the English Language makes it a lot easier. Increase in visa application: Laing also revealed that the increase in application for student visas by Nigerians was due to the change in policy, which now allows master’s or PhD up to a minimum of 2 years to work in the UK upon the completion of their programs. She, however, in her speech, noted that the UK government was mindful of the situation and was in talks with the Nigerian government to avoid causing a brain drain, especially in the health sector. The UK envoy said, “You know, there are obviously people of Nigerian origin in the UK. So, people like to go where they have family or where they have friends. Secondly, the English language obviously makes it a lot easier. “Third is education, and people who have studied will want to return. And I think you know, we are a welcoming country and we want to welcome talents, whether it’s people coming to study, or people coming to work. “So, a lot of Nigerians will be tuned to the UK and we have seen actually a very big increase in requests for Nigerian student visas. That is partly because we have changed our policy. “So it is now easier for Nigerian students to remain after their studies; they can stay I think up to two years if you have done a master’s or a Ph.D., which will enable people to look for work after they have studied. “We have a labour shortage in the UK at the moment. But we have to balance that because we do not also want to be responsible for a massive brain drain from Nigeria because you also need talented people. “So the health sector is an example where there are a lot of Nigerian medics, both nurses and doctors in the National Health Service.’’ SOURCE: https://nairametrics.com/2022/11/20/uk-explains-reasons-for-surge-in-visa-applications-by-nigerians/ DisGuy justwise

Asabe4:You're very welcome beautiful! Can i send you a mail message? |
Asabe4:You're beautiful ![]() |
You sound pathetic and i really pity you. Wish there's something i could do to help you financially but I'm on a tight budget right now. I hope help comes your way soon and hopefully you could change your mind. Suicide is not the best option, that's all i can tell you. |
Dawson126:You really need to make better enquiries about what you're saying. I don't believe any school will ask you to pay tuition fee before deffering an admission, isn't lack of tuition payment the whole point of deffering in the first place? |

Prettygirl200:Hello you! I stumbled upon your post somehow and it's probably the most silly thing i've seen on the internet in a very long time. At first, i was going to lambast you because your post reeks of stupidity, but upon seeing your responses, i thought i should advise you because it's obvious you're only ignorant just like an average Nigerian. Young lady, there's nothing wrong in having a whole different view about a matter but one thing that should be very important for you to note is the way you portray your opinion especially in a public space like this, it's actually not for anyone's sake but for your own sake, so you don't look stupid every now and then. Please take serious note of this! Now, back to the main discussion, it's obvious that you don't even have concise knowledge about the matter you have raised. Before you bring up a matter like this, you should be so sure you have a basic knowledge at the very least about the history, general view of the matter among many others, and this can only be achieved by conducting a serious research at first. But instead of you doing any of that, you came on here as a dumb frustrated Nigerian trying to force your mediocre thinking on others and also expecting others to just go by your views, that's just so funny!!! With your replies so far, i've realised that trying to argue this matter with you will only be a waste of my time, so i will rather just tell you the bitter truth. You see this great nation called Nigeria, it's never going to break up or get divided in the next 100years at the very least, because the forces holding it together is just so bigger and greater than anything you can think of. So i'll simply advise you further to dead any belief you might be hoarding that it's going to break up anytime soon and start thinking of how to better your life and contribute to the betterment of this great nation. Also you need to get out of your community and explore the country at large so you can be able to see other tribes in different ways and forms, and then you'll realise that your shallow opinion about them is just so wrong. |
