dotmanz: Hmn.. Reading this story reminded me of my direct experiences few years back, I can't hold back ma tears. All I have to tell u is, some things are better imagined, or see in movies than experienced. I narrowly escaped death as a result of physical abuse and assaults, I passed the night lining on my office table, wearing the same dress for 4 days. I found a reason to regret the invention of Mobile phone, if my phone ever beep in her awkward, it would be a message from home, always very short. ' I'm yet to get notification' or sometimes, 'switch the power to NEPA whenever u comes back'. Slap is the least of it all, I wouldn'tt believe a woman born of human being could slap her supposed husband all in the name of 'I'm talking to you, u are using me to press a phone'. Complication started coming in, errors at work, Lost a contract worth 12Million Naira due to my unsettled mind. The next thing that followed was calling my MD at the office to persuade him to divert my monthly pay to her personal account without my knowledge.. I was once chased from my apartment to the bus-stop, shouting and raising words of abuses, my things were set on fire.. In fact, my story is a super story.. I only managed to improvised all measures to stay alive. Do you know what it feels like for a wife to always lock the bedroom door with a key and drop a pillow at the sitting room for her supposed husband to use.. My dear, my BP started reading 170/130.. Some doctors became close to me to offer some psycho-emotional counseling.. Funny enough, no member of my family or anyone knew what I was passing through.. Abeg if think all these things, I seems to develop a height of hatred for women..
take heart cause you have really suffered

Its so sad that our society is wired to protect women even to this extent. I personally hate that attitude of resorting to violence when provoked and can never move ahead in any relationship at all when i notice the slightest of any violent nature in that individual because women are emotional. Emotions and violence is a deadly combination i tell you.

Christianity Etc › Re: The Church And The Children's Ministry. by okotv(op): 6:56am On Aug 11, 2014
tpia1: what exactly is the church expected to do, and how is the church expected to replace the parents?

lets assume the general parents we are talking about, are churchgoers, fully responsible adults in every respect. Like i asked, how will a few hours one day of the week, presume to replace the instruction and training kids receive at home?

unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain.
....

What then is the role of the church in a child's training..and not all parents who are church goers have what it takes to train up their child spiritually and that is why we have the children's ministry not withstanding parents have a very sacrilegious role in the spiritual upbringing of their kids

nice articulated points.
here is my point though. Many parents have failed in that regard and instead of the church to offer help in that regard it is failing.
If you are a christian please enlighten me how the children and youth ministry in your church is faring compared to your days putting the end products (children) in this case into perspective
Nairaland General › Re: Why Are Nigerians So Unserious?!? by okotv(m): 10:27pm On Aug 10, 2014
are you suggesting that we get serious at all times.

Hear this, the guys that have been very serious in this country have died and gone and yet nothing has been done for them or their wards left behind. How many officers and men in the army that have lost their lives fighting terrorism do you know. Revolution coming soon although it might be a shocker to the men in power but it surely might happen and to be sincere we Nigerians deserve it cause those that claim to be enlightened dont join politics to savage the situation instead leave touts to start from the grassroot to the top so what do you expect.
Abeg pass me a bottle of clean water make i chill and read comments before i go sleep.

Christianity Etc › The Church And The Children's Ministry. by okotv(op): 10:11am On Aug 09, 2014
As a christian, i have become more disturbed with the way the childrens ministry is been handled by many churches today. Instead of raising moral and upright 'Josephs and Daniels' of our time, the children ministry has become a 'biscuit and sweet' sharing centre with no regard to basic and upright biblical standards and conviction.
We might not all agree on this point but i dare say that this has led to the rot in the youth ministry of most churches. The bible say train up a CHILD in the way he should go and when he his old he would not depart from it. Prov 22:6.
Child training entails a lot but without a scriptural background i must say its all fallacy cause Hell is real for everyone including children that are of the age of accountability.
After stumbling upon a statistics chart a long time ago of churches in some countries, nigeria has the highest number of churches within her geographical location in africa. However i have decided to highlight just one church i know that is faring very well in this regard. DEEPER LIFE BIBLE CHURCH. The children ministry in the church spans a minimum period of ten years starting from around the age of three to thirteen years. The children are been taught about the bible, its daily application following the church's laid down principles and bible doctrines.
A chat with one or more children in the church will make you believe that the child really knows about the bible.
The church is not however left alone in this. Share your own experience in any church you have been oppurtuned so as to shed more light on this very important issue of the children ministry in a modern church cause THIS CHILDREN ARE THE FUTURE OF TOMORROW.
Thank you.

simple..adultry is sin but what i know about life is that with time every moral will diminish and that is why even taboo like homosexuality is accepted talkless of adultery...its not easy to remain chaste in this life but God help us.
