Then go ahead and swear Tinubu in. Sanwo-olu won Lagos in the gubernatorial in 2023. What about Tinubu? Atiku won all the Northeastern states except Borno and all the Northwestern states except Zamfara and Jigawa but most of these states voted APC in the gubernatorial. What does that tell you? Tinubu does not own the APC.

Bayo Onanuga has since lost the plot. Everything he does seems geared to gain the validation of the opposition. Shouldn't he be communicating directly to Nigerians on what Tinubu has done instead? He seems to mistake his role for a campaign spokesman than a presidential spokesman that he is.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Hassan Shado of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of Saturday’s Okura State Constituency by-election in Kogi State.

Announcing the results in Egume, the Returning Officer, Professor Emmanuel Onome, said Hassan Shado polled a total of 55,073 votes.

The candidates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied People’s Movement (APM) scored 1,038 and 445 votes respectively.

The death of former lawmaker representing Okura State Constituency, Enema Paul prompted voters across the area to elect a replacement for the vacant seat in the eight Kogi Assembly.

TVC News reported that electoral officials arrived early at most polling units across the four wards of the constituency, with some units recording low turnout, while others saw voters defy the cloudy weather to cast their ballots.

Now they’ve roped the Deputy in to clear the way for Martins to become Governor should they succeed in impeaching Fubara.

Tinubu’s chances of re-election is already slim, now he wants to dim every ray of light left of his chance of re-election by setting Rivers on fire.

They were defeated by Tinubu with the support of 5.6m voters from Northern Nigeria. I hope those numbers are still intact for Tinubu? There is a difference between being optimistic and being foolhardy. Time shall tell.

I want tinubu to be shaken politically because of the arrogance of his tribesmen. I know how I shouted my voice hoarse, making a case for his election. Even my own tribesmen publicly insulted me. Now, just imagine how arrogant and insulting they've become when you make a different opinion. Let them rely on wike.

Buhari no send anybody. Tinubu will have to fight hard to get 40 percent of the total votes he got from the north this time around. One thing I know is that you can't rig election in the north unless you're very popular, so game on.

One man started out as a local government chairman. He moved on to become the chief of staff to a governor. He became a minister of state and then a full minister. He moved on to become a two time governor and again the minister of the FCT. At the beginning he did not show to the people of Rivers state a factory that he owned, or a successful company anywhere. As a lawyer, he did not show the people of Rivers state his successful law firm.

The same man openly was said to finance PDP. He openly said that he purchased the nomination forms for all the candidates in the 2023 elections. No one has bothered to ask the man his source of such stupendous wealth. Where did he amass such resources from, knowing that he was not born with a silver spoon.

In rising to power, he challenged everyone on his way, ensuring that he crushed the easily crushable. He destroyed opponents houses. He challenged the police and gave the them sitting President hell. Now he does not want to be challenged.

Having ensured that his candidates, including the governor won their elections, he was automatically expected to pocket the entire state, as according to him, he had built a “structure”. How can that happen, especially when there are other political forces in the state.

Who is the despot here please? Wike.
Who is the tyrant here please? Wike.
Who has taken the joke too far please? Wike.

If power drunk leaders are not challenged, how do you expect societies to look like? Tinubu with his acclaimed nationwide contacts, never boasted so freely and confidently, openly destroying those who defied him. What’s wrong with the Governor challenging him, even though he brought the governor in. As citizens, who are we supposed to hold accountable for the running of the affairs of the state? The governor or the minister? The governor of course.

The minister certainly holds the entire state by the jugular. They say power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Is that not what we are witnessing presently in Rivers state? We must not eulogize leaders who make us as citizens, appear like the proverbial chicken, attracted by a few pieces of corn and defeathered brutally by Josef Stalin.

Putting people in positions of power should not permit you to hold the entire state or nation to random. It’s time to let the state move on.

In all, the cowards in the state assembly, who could not as men maintain their well publicized defection to APC, should move on with the governor for the sake of the state, and pending the final determination of their defection issue before the court.

I hope Agbadorians celebrating this news know that Northerners who supported Tinubu in 2023 did so in inspite of Buhari and not because of him? Elrufai it was, who pricked the conscience of the North and even then, a lot of Northerners still voted Atiku instead. It was obvious that Buhari’s body language even then was more of neutrality. Nothing will change heading into 2027. Buhari will not go out of his way to campaign for Tinubu in the North. But we will all learn the politics together.
