CareerRe: A CV Is Not A RESUME, Dont Get It Twisted..... by okudoh(op): 9:24pm On Jan 25, 2015
dejolly:
I totally disagree with u. u could av said resume is synonymous to cv not different from CV. just read ....

'resume',is a document used by persons to present their backgrounds and skills. Résumés can be used for a variety of reasons, but most often they are used to secure new employment.A typical résumé contains a summary of relevant job experience and education. The résumé is usually one of the first items, along with a cover letter and sometimes an application for employment, which a potential employer sees regarding the job seeker and is typically used to screen applicants, often followed by an interview. The résumé is comparable to a curriculum vitae (CV) in many countries. However, it is substantially shorter than a CV in English Canada, the U.S. and Australia. In French, résumé means summary.
Its ok to disagree. They are similar, no doubt, and not everyone agrees that there is any difference between them. But really, if the letter "A" and "a" have similarities and differences, are they the same in any way at all huhhuh? "A" is definitely not "a", SIMPLE.

Dear, firstly I'll mention that a job is not a career, so it'll really help to know if you need a job just to get-by or you really want to build a career.
What is your motivation ? Is is the pay, job satisfaction, self actualization or what exactly will make you happy on the job ?
It will also help to do a bit more research on this new company. Your findings just might address your concerns and help you make a decision.

I strongly recommend that you do your research before misleading people @ severusSnape. The British/American use of both is not all there is to their difference.
