Travel / Re: Relocating To Kenya Next Month For Greener Pasture by OkutaNla: 7:52pm On Nov 20, 2022
Farfalla:

My approach to this subject is different. I believe any country can offer one a platform to flourish in business regardless of whether you perceive it to be better or worse than your home country.

A few years ago when South Sudan was a newly independent state, all the international bodies and NGOs trooped to Juba and there arose a demand for certain goods and services such as office appliances, stationery, food delivery services, cleaning services, pharmacy shops, salons, barbershops, etc. Many Ugandans and Kényans rushed to Juba to engage in business and those who went there early would return home to build mansions and expand their other businesses back home. They made their money so quickly in a country that seemed hopeless at the time.

Citizens of these other countries left their homes for the simple reason that they were going to fill certain demands in Juba, and not because South Sudan was a "better" country. They saw major gaps and travelled up there to fill them. The OP isn't clear about what he intends to do while in Kénya, but if it's legit business, he should try it out. I just hope he's not planning to engage in one of those casino/strip joint type of hustle because everyone knows the kind of cocaine transactions that happen over there.

Relocating to a new country or city is like settling down with a spouse. It can go either way. It will either favours you, or frustrate the hell out of you. And just like a spouse, the same country can offer two individuals two different experiences.

Your points are valid. However, the issue I have is the frenzy to japa without much thought, based on the premise that 'anywhere is better than Nigeria'. Japa is as old as time itself so I don't see why a big deal should be made about it. My comment was directed at japa based on that 'Naija is hell on earth' narrative.

It's ok to japa without painting Nigeria black to justify one's emigration goals.

You have to make your choices... Kenya is not a good buy for me... I went there for vacation then... I had to use my airport taxi to drop off an Ethiopian airline staff... she was bitterly complaining that she had to trek home everyday because of high cost of transportation. 4million naira is about 630k Kenya shillings, you can spend that in months because of standard of living is high. Yes they have light also note that accommodation is extremely high. No jobs, thousands of their citizens searching for job everywhere... forget the minimum wage stuff which amount to about 78k naira.... thats amount to nothing when you convert it to shillings..... just plan yourself well. Nigeria is not bad at all. Forget all these bad talks. Travel outside this country, just within some Africa countries, you will turn celebrity over there. Ethiopia same thing... hungry full there like eeh...

I jus pity some Nigerians. Like you said bro, if you wan japa, japa with sense. I've been to Kenya twice on vacation and another time in an official capacity. Compared to Naija, Naija still better by far. Cost of living in Nigeria is still way better, though their electricity supply is better than Naija. Dem dey take their light too though they bring it back sharperly compared to Nigeria.

I get close Kenyan friends wey no mind to japa to Naija if dem fit find work here sef. Na only SA better pass Naija in Africa, in my opinion, and that's even marginally sef coz I personally no fit live for SA even if you beg me, no thanks to their xenophobic tendencies. Besides, dem don begin ration their electricity for SA too.

As pesin wey don live for Yankee before, none of those places (Kenya o, SA o, etc) dey freak me, asides going on vacation or business. But as they say, the grass always seems greener on the other side.

Ipob impersonator wey dey use Yoruba monker disguise, we don hear. You people reason upside down so your nonsense opinion doesn't come as a surprise. Lagosians know the candidate that will benefit the state more at the federal level between Obi and Asiwaju, so that alone is a pointer to the person that'll get the most votes in the state. But you're free to continue hallucinating.

And did the owner of Nairaland stop you people from advertising Peter Obi? Or are you suggesting that they shouldn't accept paid ads from presidential candidates? Virtually all reputable newspaper websites are running paid ads of presidential candidates; they'll be foolish not to do so in this campaign season. When will you Labourers start using your God-given brains?

Only God know how much donation the guy would have collected from those Obiidiots. He just go on Google, source news, arrange them together, then come online and scream investigative journalism.

People like that don’t last because his support base are bunch of y loyal dogmatic zombies. Soon they will turn against him just like they did to Reno, FFK, and Adeyanju.

Real talk. He's already behaving like someone under a curse/spell. He won't end well if he continues on his current path, that much I can bet.

If this Hundeyin guy continues at this rate, he may just end up committing suicide. His desperation to use anti-Tinubu propaganda to strengthen his asylum case is driving him insane. He's obviously a very disturb individual. Perhaps his parents placed a curse on him.

Is he illegal true true?

David Odeyin is currently stranded in Benin Republic. He tried to use EndSars to Japa to Europe and America but they rejected his applications. Since then he has been desperately trying to use Tinubu to strengthen his asylum request. He feels that if he attacks Tinubu's ambition and he eventually becomes president, he'll have a stronger case for not being able to return to Nigeria due to 'fear for his security', consequently strengthening his Asylum case.

If you’re Yoruba, you’re jealous.
If you’re ibo, you’re naturally bitter, so it’s understandable, na other people ruin una region na another person from another region una dey hate.

As for the Yorubas, we have you in different families, as long as you’re not the ones being in the spotlight, you hate for your blood brothers to be more successful that you.
That’s what you’re displaying on a national level.
But ẹ ma lulẹ na ni.
God pass una.

That guy you quoted eh, his bitterness towards Tinubu can rival Satan's bitterness towards God, if not worse. Tinubu's sin is that he defeated his preferred candidate (Osinbajo) during the APC primary, because of that he ported to Obi. And if care is not taken, that bitterness fit kill am. He's from Okun section of Kogi state and since the VP's defeat he's also become rabidly anti-Yoruba. I hope he considers relocating from his current Lagos location to Obi's Anambra after Tinubu's swearing-in.

grin grin Wike l'oko iya won cheesy, dem no born their papa to talk back. Not even Obi dare defend his unruly Obi-thugs in the presence of Wike. When all is said and done, Obi will return to PDP by latest April next year, while the OBI-diots would then remember Mazi Kanu and his plight and return to their Biafra agitation.

Right now Obi would say anything and throw anyone under the bus for the sake of the upcoming election. His level of selfishness is unprecedented. In any case, he knows that win or lose he's returning to PDP. Labour Party (aka PDP-Lite) is just a convenient and temporary 'special purpose vehicle' (SPV) for him right now. He can only deceive his Zombidiots, not discerning Nigerians.

Op, that's coz his audience are brain-dead zombies who have lost their reasoning faculty. I guess he was expecting Tinubu to select a non-existent 'Yoruba/Nigerian' option on the form in question. Maybe we shouldn't blame him and rather blame his ignorance and lack of exposure.

But honestly I pity the David Odeyin fellow. Then again I understand why he feels the need to up the ante so that his asylum applications can be more credible. His best bet is to keep creating the impression that his mindless opposition and hatred for Tinubu is enough justification to the countries he's seeking asylum in to grant him his much coveted asylum. Na hin Obi-diot followers I pity coz they're all on a wild goose chase.

This is a literal quote from Victor Umeh that was published by the media. Let Victor Umeh come and deny it. Obi left N185 billion in debt after claiming to have invested N75 billion.

What a smooth criminal.

Most Obidients are aware of all these things, but for political reasons, they've chosen to indulge in some sort of ...willful amnesia. Needless to say that minds are already made up at this point. Don't be surprised if even Umeh himself comes out tomorrow to say that he was misquoted when he made those statements. It's just the nature of politics, where sentiments and emotions override everything else.
