[b]tinubu built lagos with ordinary sands, no single cement. I have always warned people in that area that building collapses may become more common because many prefer to build without proper documentation or following engineering processes. When advised to obtain structural drawings, they often point to quacks who have built a few structures and assume that is enough. What they fail to realize is that most successful buildings were constructed with proper structural designs and professional input. I find it difficult to understand why someone would invest heavily in a project yet choose shortcuts just to avoid paying for essential professional services. The small savings today could lead to huge losses tomorrow |
What US is saying in effect is that no ship goes in and out of Iran without due permission from the US. The US understands what China and Russia is trying to do, so they wants to monitor every transaction between them and Iran |
What the president has done is commendable, but guys look at the background and see for yourself if she's a poor person. This things are suppose to be for the poor, but they keep diverting it to themselves. The problem we have is the the people within the government who will divert what's meant for the poor to themselves. Someone having gold shelves stand should not be the one celebrating packages like these, it should be for the average Nigerians or the less privileges. If a lot of the people within the government can implement ⅓ of what the government released for the public, you will understand that the major problem are those Close to them |
datola:I don't think so, if you noticed he wasn't harsh to them by his turn. They should have continued with the video and if you noticed their voice became low when he presented his barge. As an officer now in Nigeria, you have to be extra careful to identify yourself in the public space, coupled with the fact that you can't even trust the Nigeria police. How can they be running their mouth when someone said he's an officer? You expect them to be calm and be polite until you can identify him. |
No one should compare Buhari's regime to that of Tinubu. Buhari remains the worst president ever. Everything was stagnant, he was borrowing money without generating money on how to pay it back. Tinubu is not perfect and has lapses, but I prefer him 100% more than Buhari. Our GDP is gradually improving, investment is flowing-in Tell us one major foreign investment Buhari brought in within his 8 year rule? Bobloco: |
kettykin:You have spoke well. The reduction in lease years for landed property should give anyone a sign of what's coming. After the 50th years expiration for lease land as against 100 years, the government takes full ownership and everyone will need to apply for renewal. We just hope before that time this tribal war would have been dusted and buried, because it has eaten us so dip in this nation...everyone |
Oyo state alone generate more than the five eastern state combine . Ndi developer, they will soon start saying they develop Oyo state. But they cannot develop their 5 plots of land.
|
inoki247:Simple truth. It's when one is less busy. You can't go out for hustle and come back thinking about how you will handle your woman. I told my woman the above, because it's when I am less busy i wouldn't want her to rest after her own work and vis-a-vis |
It's not about being rich, but it depends on the individual. We have some super rich guys who uses expensive phones and gadgets and we have those who are not gadget freak, they just want it simple. Some club owners do put on nice and expensive stuffs to watch their clubs play |
Bobodee09:Over there, she doesn't have access to a bundle of security agent her counterpart in Nigeria would have, she would leave her life like the ordinary citizens and pay for her security if she wants extra. Over her a deputy at her level will have nothing less than two hilux filled with security following her and intimidating everyone even when they spend their time in luxury hotels and bars that are well secured Most times our comparison doesn't match... |
The boy is very useless, I know him and his Dad just behind my church. He killed him for money ritual I guess at Surulere and ran to his mum who's divorced from the dad not knowing the mother is already aware about what he did, she quickly called the police and got him arrested. A very easy going and hustling man and a very useless son who wants to ride formatic just to upress his mate. Tell me why will a 24year single guy wants shortcut to success... |
Are majority if the police not of Igbo tribe? Until we start calling our own out, this crime against its citizens will hardly end. Someone threatened me with the police in the East, until I made him understand that I have a stronger power with the police and that a call will put him in trouble, luckily my retired dad called me and I put the call on speaker. He was shocked to hear my dad speak |
If you have passed through them before, you would understand that the harassment is too much. A scanner should do the job rather than being searched by them one after the other. If one is a suspect it's okay, but this guys look for fragile people they can get money from. After the search, if you are clean, they will still ask you anything for me? Even with your children around you, they will still exhibit this unethical practices. My asked me like why are they saying anything for us... |
Fubora has a right to spend a certain amount of money depending when the budget will be passed, he can also be spending his security vaults pending the budget approval. They Assembly members will not get a penny pending when they are ready to do the needful. They thought the governor will go against the supreme Court judgment, but it's the opposite so they are now confused not knowing the next step to take. It's a game of chess, the governor will have time to put his LG chairmen waiting till 2027... |
GanagiBitrus:If you know the Jos forest, it's a dangerous road to drive through. To make matters worst, the security on left the bad spot and went far after it to mount a check. There was a day I was driving behind by boss and his family, they almost double crossed us with there head-lights off, I saw them and quickly blocked them, single my boss to drive faster. That was how we managed to escape. They will monitor most travellers when the stop at the roundabout b4 the forest and prepare to attack them. Drivers should avoid wasting time at that roundabout. God will save us from evil men |
SeeWahala:They should cook nothing, he still far better than the Buhari. They have seen someone who can match their strength. Was Buhari nepotism not worst than that of Tinubu? It's now They want to start complaining. Buhari that will collect stolen funds and say he's sharing it to the poor, poor decision making, could not bring any major foreign investment. I can only fault Tinubu for the hardship we are experiencing, apart from such, his guys are trying to clean up Buhari's mess |
plumcomm:It's not demeaning anyone, most of this guest lacks the charisma & are less of whom they claim to be. To silent Rufai, just give him points, clarity should be seen and be calm, it will unsettle him as you have dismantle is attacking line. Most of the guest are thrown off their comfort zone and they start attacking him instead of presenting him with continuous facts. Rufai is just doing his job as a journalist and he might go behind and plead with them as that's what is paying his bill... I would have answered Rufai that I am an activist, and if called upon and persuaded to join a government, I can join them to move the country forward rather than always be on the opposition without looking for solutions. This guys lacks brain but are opportunist who find themselves where they are now. |
gidigbam1:I think I am more educated than you are in this field as construction is my area of specialisation so don't think we just write to criticise the government. A lot of you don't even understand how the systems work, our politicians have seen a secured route to siphon money without efcc tracking them down. Do you see the billions that's allocated to road construction of recent? Please get records before you argue blindly Mr. Man |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rNgKnVXF4w?si=8R3vzAlzb61hSKoh Source:
They should investigate his close guys, it's normal for then over there, he might have done a deal that he's expecting the money drop and they quickly removed him and took the money. That's how they run the show over there if you loose guard. Tomorrow is close guys will send millions back home and even paid for his burial... |
rhinolove:Is it possible to ignore them for a month? They own the money transfer network banks are using, satellite images and telecommunication is linked to them. They own Google, X, Instagram etc... |
2aces:I don't think you read and understood my comments, why do you think every governor and political office holder is no concerned about road? As an Engineer, they are bloating the contract prices and no one can accuse them of embezzlement, like you are praising them now. They are closing the link so that efcc will not see a trace as it was approved. Let them also spend 300billion on human capacity, after their tenure you will hear where the money went too. Like I said road is good, but is only major project everyone wants to be doing? Road that you can't have money to buy a car and ride on? You will say most they buy a car? It should be that an average human with capacity should be able to buy a car and deliver their goods |
Asquare84:This project are good, but this politicians will leave human development that would have positive impact. Road projects are usually inflated to suit the people in office and you won't understand except you are a professional in that field. Why are they all focusing on Road because efcc can not trace any loot to it. Create an environment for people to thrive in business, give tax incentives and encourage SME, improve the education, provide seeds and fertiliser to farmers that will generate income which can build such roads, schools etc. That's what people want to see and hear in developed countries and not infrastructure. Trump trying to give America 50% of tiktok, trade that would bring in the money and not what we have here |
That's why it's necessary for the government to give ministerial positive to professionals who are trained in the field. Making a law ministers of works, he can only perform well in documentations but implementation will be zero as the advisers might have an interest in the job. If I'm employed in my profession as a minister, my advisers will be extra careful because we both understand the job. The reason Umahi is performing is because he's an Engineer and the contractor can not teach the job. |
If he gives is public opinions and ideas you guys will criticise him, that the president reforms are yielding results. You don't to respond to everyone just because you want to also make a point. Let your results speak for you, except... |
zero8zero:The major truth is that a professional engineer is incharge of the affairs and he cannot be bamboozled with excuses. If it's a lawyer or someone alien to the engineering profession, they can use engineering terms to confuse him. If oga at top is not complaining, the directors will keep quiet thinking the minister has collected money from the contractor. In this case, the minister is an engineer, therefore he will not accept flimsy excuses as the foreign contractor usually does thinking they have all the connection |
Our politicians should stop focusing on only road, it's because they can easily inflat the contract price to suit their pockets. It's hard for them to allocate billions for computers and other projects that can be easily verified, that's why they focus on road that most people don't an idea about the cost except the professionals. Road is good, but it should not be the major thing every governor is focusing on |
givedemwotowoto:Now imagine if all the states mandate all oil companies in their domain to remit their VAT through their state. You will see some states revenue will rise... Don't forget that most oil companies in South-South remit their VAT and tax through Lagos state |
Coolsperm:Can't you guys see the men on suit closing on him just incase of any intruder. Duo it's a good one, but his security are much closer |
Sometimes a project cost can be stalled due to rise in cost of materials that can lead to millions of naira. The reporter of the previous news did a damage work to his name on purpose because at the end of the story, the amount he stated that was paid is almost the same as the work done. The reporter can be sued for damages, but he was smart enough to end the story with the fact that the company has committed no offence until the court says so |
It's a good gesture, but did they arrest the Lastma officers over there controlling the area? Go to major bus stop causing the nuisance, you shall see traffic operatives turning there eyes away from this nuisance caused by these bus drivers. In some days time they shall return to that same place with police and traffic officers standing bye and watching |
haybhi1:The people who sold the land refused to come and testify as the new property developers promised them another hefty payment. They just told us we should sort ourselves out with them and not involve the family anymore |
FreeStuffsNG:It's good to invest in Lagos, but the government should be advised to allow investors thrive. I got by ɓuilding of four flats (2 bedroom) Duplex demolished. They went and bride the family who sold the land not to appear in court and testify. Over 500 building demolished without compensation. Today the large piece of land is allocated to their cronies to erect an estate without compensation. As at today I am afraid of acquiring property on that axis. Before I bought my land I did a research on it, I even did a registered survey place, recorded with lands and survey of Lagos State. They should allow people to breath abeg |
