Illimitable: Whenever I am discussing European football, I limit it to the leagues in England, Spain, Germany, Italy, France, Portugal and Netherlands.
I don’t give a shit about what happens in a league ranked 22nd in Europe. Ole failed at Cardiff. Anyone that passed common entrance in Nigeria can manage a club in Norway. Chief, you keep showing your lack of knowledge about what Ole achieved with Molde. Ole broke the strangle hold of Rosenberg to win the Norwegian league and the ground work he did when he was in charge is why Molde are a mainstay in Europe for the past 5 years. I hope you know that it is extremely difficult to break the monopoly of big teams in leagues such as the Norwegian league. |

Illimitable: Mourinho qualified for the CL 16/17 & 17/18 consecutively and he didn’t stop there, he made sure we qualified out of the group in those campaigns as well - that’s the minimum standard regardless of how far we have fallen.
There’s no need to alter the facts to hype a failure like Ole. I hope you remember when Fergie crashed out of a group involving Otelu Galati, Benfica, and Basel Otelu **fuvking Galati :- |

Leyqute: We need to get more “pass-first “ attackers biko. They are creative and usually make good decisions. Very true!! Especially because we have too many "shoot-first" attackers in the team like Greenwood, James and Rashy. |

patrickmuf: Ole should've taken off Fred before that red card...That's his only blame for that loss to PSG... True! For all of Fred's shortcomings man has got an excellent engine and his ability to cover ground and hassle opponents is priceless, so I understood why Ole didn't take him off. |

Trevor012: Spurs will sell kane for 100million. Yes Sancho will be brilliant. We need more technical players in this team. Only Pogbooom, Martial and Greenwood are technical players in this team. Grealish or Sancho will do wonders. Kane for 100M?? I laugh! You are right about the need for technical players though, but I think we should move on from Martial. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by olabode89(m): 10:27pm On Apr 04, 2021 |
Illimitable: No! You got dumped out of UCL because you failed to beat PSG on your home turf. The PSG game was the 5th game out of 6.
Had Ole won that, the game in Leipzig would have been a dead rubber game. Even after losing to the Turkish team, United were still leading the group. You need to check the effect of each loss on the final outcome of the group table. Everyone apart from United defeated Istanbul BB home and away, thay loss played a huge part of why we finished 3rd in that group. Also the loss to Leipzig was pivotal as it was the last game and we needed to not lose to progress to the knockout round. The loss to PSG at Old Trafford meant we broke even against PSG with 3pts to both teams. Before castigating Ole for that loss you should revisit that game and see if it was Ole that told Martial to miss sitters and Fred to have brain farts that made us go 1 man down during the game. |

Trevor012: The only striker I need is Harry kane. Either Sancho with Grealish or only Harry kane. Harry Kane would be an amazing signing but where we wan see 150M+ for Harry Kane? I just have this belief that Sancho would be perfect for this team, he can play RW, LW and AM effectively and he is a "pass-first" attacker. |

patrickmuf: We definitely improved in the 2nd half but then, that penalty scare would've killed any chance of a win had the referee called it...
We need to start games on the front foot, top teams will have us for dinner with such poor first half performance...This is the difference between some of us here, we watch the first half and Share our strong concrrns but some of you are more interested in the result after 90 mins. Granted, result is all that matters but then, the play is also important lest you come short against teams of equal footing... Good point! We actually started strong today, the problem is mainly with the slowness of our attacks, the inability of Fred (McT when he starts) to play line breaking passes and the extremely poor showing from AWB in the attacking phase. AWB showed zero awareness for Welbeck's goal too. |

Illimitable: But it was the same Tuchel that dumped Ole out of the champions league by beating him 3-1 at Old Trafford.
I am sure your selective amnesia missed that obvious fact. This man, I don tire to dey school you.. We got dumped out of the UCL this season because of that poor result at Istanbul BB and the losing the last game to RB Leipzig. |

Illimitable: That’s a one off game and such happens.
Tuchel has already demonstrated what he’s about. Man went to Atletico and slapped them at home. This is his first loss since he joined Chelsea - its acceptable especially when the red card was the turning point.
Meanwhile, PE teacher was dumped out of Europe. Man even lost to a club in Turkey with a name that looked like wifi password. He’s not played in a final in almost 3 years with the number of talents he’s got at his disposal. PE teacher beat your Lord and personal saviour twice at his backyard when he was at PSG, with the second game showing some impressive tactical moves. No dey yarn dust abeg. |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by olabode89(m): 9:56pm On Apr 04, 2021 |
Illimitable: Leicester need to sell to fix the gaping holes in their squad and they have not made a single penny from the gates this season.
Every club needs money now - I doubt the PE teacher would see the talents in Ndidi though. The same fool that bought Van de Beek when he already had Pogba, Bruno and Mata in his squad is unlikely to appreciate an outstanding talent like Ndidi. Gate receipt for Leicester is usually around 6 to 10% of their total revenue, this is applicable to non-top 8ish teams in the EPL. Also, with reduced associated match day expenses; not having fans should have marginal effect on their revenue. Therefore, they don't need to sell. They are also a properly run team with a rich owner. What gapping holes are you talking about? They have been hit by lots of injuries and they are still competitive.

Illimitable: Ndidi is Nigerian - he doesn’t have the profile to command a huge transfer fee. I’d be surprised if he costs more than £40m.
If he’s from Brazil, France, England or Germany, they would put £120m price tag on him. Ndidi has been top 5 DM in the EPL for at least 3 seasons. Leicester don't need to sell, they will surely rinse us for at least 50M. |

hustla: And often doesn't perform well unless Vardy drifts to the left and creates for him
Tielemans, Maddison also are there to create, not forgetting they have Ricardo Perreira who crosses the ball excellently
Una no dey watch ball well Na you no dey watch ball well. Football has gone beyond having a playmaker play the no 10 role. Your wingers and fullbacks can be the creative force in your team. It's not a must to have your no 10 as the main chance creator. Also Ihenacho was not playing like your regular no 10. Aribo was also playing relatively high up the pitch. Guys like Chukwubueze and Onyekuru should not be starting for the national team. Iwuala should start the next game in Lagos, he brought in so much energy and drive when he came on for Onyekuru. |
