What could the boys have done better when them useless Burnley players are just hoofing the ball upfield and defending deep. It does not help that the referee is not in control of the game. The idiot didn't blow fouls for us because the players are asking even though some of those FKs were warranted. Also they wasted 5 mins on the VAR decision and decided to add 4 mins to the first half.

Matic is balling though and AWB, Bailly and Maguire all need to calm down and stop panicking when Burnley hoof the ball upfield.

They are always going to win the midfield and possession, but we had a way to play them which was successful for us last season.

Our attacking players should be the laziest in the league when it comes to closing down defenders and spaces. I hope Ole does something to increase their work rate

Actually we played better yesterday than in any of them 3 games that we won. We dominated City over long periods yesterday and we didn't go the ultra defensive route.

Also, you need to consider that to hit teams on counter forward players need to press effectively without expending too much energy. The funny thing is that we pressed City alot yesterday. I still believe in the team but we need to find quick solutions to our defense and how to defend set pieces. We have conceded about 10 goals from set pieces, that is unacceptable!!

All those posts fail to mention how we got bleeped in domestic cup finals under Fergie by Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea (I watched all them finals). Also on multiple occasions we got knocked out of FA cups by teams such as Villa and Boro. Although I am pissed with how Ole have been unable to get to cup Finals, getting to 4 consecutive cup finals is not an easy feat.

PS - Fergie never took the League cup seriously, he usually played youth and fringe members of the first team.
