Even though Brighton got 110m for Caicedo, The issue with this deal is.

1. Any player they want to buy now, the price will be very high because that club will know that they have a lot of money now. Look at West ham, they struggled to replace Rice.

2. Players will be demanding release clauses before they sign. Because lower Transfer fees will mean Clubs will be willing to pay more in wages. And players will not want to be held at ramsom anymore

Brighton's owner is a data science believer. Dude became rich by applying data analytics in Sports betting. They research and scout heavily using a data heavy approach. Clubs they recruit players from cannot afford to request for crazy fees as they need to sell highly talented players to operate effectively.

There is a reason we paid top dollar for a Gk that can play accurate passes, a CM/CAM that can press effectively and receive a pass on the half turn and finally a CF that is extremely fast with serviceable hold up play.

We are not planning to play some directionless tiki taka bullshit, the idea is to play a system that forces the opponent unto us and then hit them with quick transitions. Case in point, Bruno's goal against Arsenal. We went from a pass from Heaton to scoring in under 10 seconds.
