It is very likely that Caicedo would not have developed the way he did at Brighton if we had bought him then. The same with Bellingham. Those players went to teams that could develop them and importantly give them game time. Also remember that even Brighton saw that Caicedo was not ready in the first season and loaned him out for game time.

A player like Amad for instance made a mistake joining us when he did. I would not advice any teenager to join us. Our scouting is not the best but even our player development is dreadful.

For example, our academy LB Alvaro Fernandez spent last season playing for a team that uses wingbacks. He did really well but what does that really tell us about his ability to play LB at senior level, and what does that teach him about the defensive solidity and positioning required as a LB. Mejbri spent the season playing for a Birmingham side with probably the lowest possession in the Championship, utilizing Sam Allardyce style kick and follow tactics. Apart from chasing after loose balls there was nothing else required from Birmingham midfielders. How does that develop him into a United level player.

People forget that it took Caicedo 6 months before ge made his debut for Brighton plus he was sent on loan to Belgium for half a season before he started playing regularly for Brighton. Pressure would have swallowed him at United and none of our previous managers would have trusted an unknown entity in the midfield.

You can play talented youngsters regularly as attackers or if they are physically gifted e.g. Mason Greenwood, Garnacho, Foden,etc. or if they are matured way beyond their age e.g. Fabregas.

There is something called "good faith" during negotiation. You don't to the negotiation table with inconsiderate and demeaning offers. If the starting fee is way to high, you can respectfully decline and end negotiation.

In most places you don't do the usually naija low balling during negotiation. Them go just end all discussions asap.

We just need a goalkeeper that can relieve pressure from the team during set pieces by claiming crosses, can confidently and accurately pass the ball, sweep effectively and save shots that he is expected to save.
