Nollywood Actress, Rita Dominic has reacted against something that happened at the “Warri Again?” concert where Comedian AY and Helen Paul made jokes about molestation.



Few days back, at a concert organized for the ex-housemates in Warri, Helen Paul made ThinTallTony and Bisola reconcile after the latter seem pissed at the fact that TTT betrayed their friendship by hiding his marital status from her.

Then, Helen Paul and AY also made jokes about Kemen and TBoss.. noting that the molestation that happened between the two was simply a “small touch”.

The comments earned the female comedian a lot of criticism from folks on social media and now, Rita Dominic has joined other voices speaking out against the culture of normalising sexual abuse against women.

“It is not rational to say that sexual misconduct or abuse of any kind is normal behaviour. We should not tolerate this school of thought,” the legendary actress said.

The head of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, FRC, Jim Obazee, has been sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Mr. Obazee’s sack comes about 48 hours after implementation of his agency’s law led to the exit of Nigeria’s most influential Christian cleric, Enoch Adeboye.

Mr. Adeboye resigned as the general overseer of the Redeemed Church in Nigeria on Saturday, but retained oversight of the global arm of the church.

The FRC rule is established by the Financial Reporting Council, Nigeria, Act No 6, 2011.

The council, which is under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, is responsible for, among others, developing and publishing accounting and financial reporting standards to be observed in the preparation of financial statements of public entities in Nigeria and for related matters.

The Governance Code of 2016 put in place by the agency to implement the Act encompasses three sectors: the private, the public and not-for-profit.
‎
It is the not-for-profit sector, sometimes referred to as the Benevolent Sector, the Third Sector or the Civil Society Sector, that religious bodies fall under.

Section 9.1. of the code states that “The Founder or Leader of a NFPO occupies a special position in the Organisation and is committed to the success and longevity of the NFPO.”

Accordingly, a founder or leader should not take on too many responsibilities in the organisation or have an indefinite term in the running of the organisation, and is expected to not stay in office for more than 20 years.

On the day Mr. Adeboye’s exit was announced by the church, the cleric criticised the meddling of government in church matters.

“The government has been showing increasing interest in church affairs. Unfortunately, for us in RCCG, it might not be very helpful,” he was quoted as saying on Saturday by the Tribune Newspapers during a church service.

President Buhari announced the sack of the FRC boss in a statement by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu.

Mr. Obazee is to be replaced by Daniel Asapokhai while a new board, headed by Adedotun Sulaiman was also constituted for the agency.

The actress who has featured in many Yoruba movies, died in the early hours of today January 2nd. Bimbo Oshin who is a Nollywood actress, announced Majekodunmi's death.

The Nigerian entertainment industry recorded the first death of 2017 when veteran Nollywood Actress, Toyin Majekodunmi died on January 2, 2017 after a brief battle with diabetes

.

Her burial has now been scheduled to hold on 2nd & 3rd March, 2017 and a committee has been set up to this effect.

A bride's childhood dream of arriving at her wedding by helicopter ended in tragedy when it crashed just a mile from the venue.


Rosemere do Nascimento Silva, 32, had planned to surprise her fiancé Udirley Damasceno and 300 guests by swooping in to their reception in a rural area on the outskirts of Sao Paulo in Brazil.

But in an horrendous twist of fate, the aircraft crashed en route to the venue, killing the bride-to-be, her brother, the pilot and a photographer who was six-months-pregnant.



Mr Damasceno was left waiting at the altar, unaware of what his fiancée was planning to do, or of the tragic consequences.

Police and air crash investigators are now trying to establish what caused the crash.


They are looking into reports that it might have hit a tree during bad visibility with rain, fog and cloud.

"All brides have a dream and hers was to arrive by helicopter to their wedding without anyone knowing," Carlos Eduardo Batista, one of the organisers told Brazilian media Globo.


The accident was only discovered when he realised the helicopter did not arrive at a nearby football field.

He made a phone call which confirmed it had taken off as planned.


They were later told a plane had crashed nearby but at first thought it was an unconnected incident.

The distraught bridegroom was told the news at the altar by the pastor and was said to have gone into total shock.

There were 300 guests at the wedding but only about six of them knew about the surprise.

The National Civil Aviation Agency has indicated that the aircraft permission to fly until February 1, 2017 with a capacity of three people without counting the pilot.

The helicopter, a Robinson 44, crashed about a mile from the wedding venue in a forest area near a main road.

Eight fire engines rushed to the scene but nothing could be done to save the four occupants.

The journey would have taken just 15 minutes.
