Investigative journalist David Hundeyin has stirred controversy after accusing some Nigerian activists, including Aisha Yesufu and Rinu Oduala, of being “foreign-sponsored agents” allegedly pushing CIA-backed uprisings in Africa.


Responding to a critic on X (formerly Twitter), Hundeyin defended his stance, saying ignorance should not be mistaken for sainthood, describing such actors as “useful geopolitical idiots.”


He added that even if Peter Obi or Goodluck Jonathan were president and Nigeria was progressing, he would still condemn any “NED-sponsored” movement seeking to destabilize the country.


According to him, it’s better for a few “foreign puppets” to fall than for millions of Nigerians to suffer because of their greed or ignorance.


His comments have since drawn mixed reactions, with supporters praising his bluntness while others accuse him of demonizing civic activism.
