CrimeRe: Thinking Of Reporting To The EFCC - Any Help? by oladiran2(m):
I think in my own opinion is like digging your own grave and not just yours alone but you will end up dragging your entire family into it and pple close to you out of your ignorance thinking you know it all.Try to just mind your business cos just as you are not comfortable with someone's actions am very sure someone wont be about yours. That's d imperfection in human beings as we ain't Gods. You might not see d damage you want to do to yourself and your families that has no single clue of the stupidity you just want to put their lives into now, someone who hard no clue you are the one who brought disturbance into their lives cos you couldn't mind your business. Not everything the eyes sees the mouth says.please listen to advice before you put yourself in a track you might not be able to turn back from.let me ask you a question your mind isn't going to, do you think if you report as you claim and they got sentenced and freed, do you think you can live d free life you have been enjoying?? You will make an enemy for your entire life and not just you alone would pay the price but unfortunately the innocent too cos when they found out it was your doing they will definitely revolt and put laws in their hands and can even set you up in a way you will never imagine and the sometimes d hunter becoming the hunted. Sometimes the movies we watch are not just for fun sake but to learn from them where pple are framed up and court wont listen the person was framed and sentenced with lengthy years of jail terms. This just common sense and don't let pple be telling you ehn report them and don't be pushed, what they too can't do if they were you. my advice again if this kind of thinking can even be entertained in your mind, sorry to say but you might not live long if you don't learn to mind what concerns you or excercise the quote that not everything one sees the mouth must say. Not even in your house, even at your place of work sir. Just my little understanding of life. Don't let pple use your mistake as their own lesson. Just go by your daily lives and when it's time for them to meet their Waterloo they will definitely meet it. That's now your time to laugh...

oladiran2:
this is a new drafted one after your review sir.
thanks for your time.

Urbanization and an explosive population growth in Nigeria have led to a reduction in land area available for farming. Nigeria`s population is currently estimated to be 195 million as at October 7th 2018 from the United Nations estimate www.worldometers.info/world-population/nigeria-population/. This clearly shows that within just 2years where the population stood at 185 million in 2016 there has been an increase by 10million. This is a mandatory reason to improve on the agricultural sector of the country as the land area available for farming are drastically reducing as effect to the population growth. The solutions to averting food shortage and sharp increase in the cost of food crops in the next 10years are research in crops of more yields, breeding new varieties with disease resistance, and more effective farming system through land maximization.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Plant Physiology and Crop Production from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. My final year project topic was on the effect of different inter-row spaces of (45cm, 60cm, 75cm and 90cm) by 25cm on the growth and yield of maize. I was able to conclude at the end of the project and analyzed data collected on a new spacing of 60cm by 25cm which has good weed management through effective canopy formations and thus reduction in labor cost on weeding, land maximization, more plant density, more yield against the already known 75cm by 25cm by the Nigerian farmers.
My passion for farming and agriculture made me have almost 4 years of active full field post-graduation experience. I have worked on different varieties of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, melons, peanuts (ground nut), maize (corn), soya beans and other crops to mention few in a large commercial farm (El-Amin Integrated Farms) as the senior agronomist. I also consult for other farms facing one challenge to another in their production like in raising seedlings for productions, crop protection and nutrition. The farm I am currently working had to make my consulting a permanent job when I was able to resolve their nursery issues which had marred their production and market supplies and was impressed.
I chose to do my masters in agronomy at Kansas state university been one of the best university in agriculture and research. My acceptance for the program which when completed would help me to meet my career goals with the help of its highly recognized lecturers. I will impact the knowledge gained to improve the Nigeria`s agricultural sector as my thesis would be focusing on cropping systems, production and identification of top performing crops such as corn, soya bean, peanut. These crops are the most common crops used as raw materials for finished products by Nigerian companies, everyday crops for food and source of little income by the rural farmers. I will be hoping to work with international organizations like the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), seed companies and the likes working hard to reduce poverty and famines in developed and developing countries who request masters` degree in agricultural programs as part of their requirements before been considered for employment where I can impact globally and nationally.
Thank you for your consideration.

Superbrain:
My overall feedback

1. Keep your sentences short and to the point. What is the message you want a reader to take from your statement?
2. Avoid same words in the same sentence.
3. Go with a structure- You can use the outline below (sometimes, the school defines what they are seeking in an SOP)
- First Paragraph: Problem Statement and Interest in providing solution
- Second Paragraph: Background, experience and relevant project work. Focus on relevance
- Third Paragraph: Why this particular school? Why this particular course? What do you hope to learn and leverage? What are your research interests?
- Fourth Paragraph: What will be the added value of your degree once completed? Link this back to the problem statement and define how you will be able to contribute meaningfully with your added knowledge.
4. Articulate your statements to be precise. Avoid long windy sentences that are not precise.
5. Use a full stop (.) to end your sentence.

Writing a great SOP takes time. Put in the required effort (time is crucial) and if you want feedback, I will be more than happy to review another draft.

Lol hahahhahahaha I didn't insult you and I guess your greedy conscience is judging you.even your write up is confusing, description reads used by a lady and now when insulting me claimed u are selling for other purpose, which one should we now believe ooo may sense fall on you and shift you from your greed. Why is it now that those that have seen it and knows it's value make payment and relieve you of the stress of writing still available.they should have just paid your price since they have seen it. I guess you think they are daft as you and don't know the price value of the car?? Even those pricing at 1mil and 1.1mil, you should have said yes first and see if they will show up with the money.who will buy a used dc at 1.1mil or more when toks is 1.5-1.6mil.What are you selling that you claim to know that is beyond Honda DC abeg
Joniboi:
Mr, if you don't have the money, kindly leave my post. I know what am selling. I am sure you were the one that sent me a msg pricing this DC @ 800, a car that was bought at direct Belgium in march. Alot of people on this forum has called me and priced the car at 1m and 1.1m and am not selling. Some have come to see it and they know the value of the car. Please don't post rubbish on my post. Keep your low life to yourself. This car is not different from direct belguim cos it was rarely used. Pls am not selling because am broke but selling for other purpose.

Yes so much. Thanks a lot.
Spotlighte:
It doesn't work that way really. The LoR is not something you submit yourself except maybe for special cases. Everything is done online. The only thing you're supposed to do is provide the email addresses and job designations of your recommenders (usually from two past lecturers and one from work - it varies though). Your recommenders would be sent online forms to fill, after which they'd write letters that highlight your readiness for the programme through the experience of once having you as their student or employee.

People make travels for this when their recommenders aren't computer savvy or are taking time to do their bit, so they go help them through to make it faster.

I'd strongly advise you start disturbing your recommenders as this part of the application could take a very long time to complete, no thanks to unserious recommenders. Anyway, just find your way around it.

As for the statement of purpose, you're the one who's suppose to do that. Browse the internet and look through as many examples as you can. Deep down yourself, you should know why you're opting for the course you're aiming to study. Don't duplicate another person's own please. Americans do not tolerate plagiarism.

You should check your programme's requirements to know what documents you'd be needing to make your application complete.

I hope that was helpful.

Okay, thanks a lot. I work far north so I intend to travel to Lagos in November so I should be able to get 2-3 letters of recommendation from my supervisor and lecturers which I will take back with me and keep till when needed. Who gives statement of purpose please and what's it about.please kindly help me with the list of documents I should make available with me since I have no clue.
Thanks alot
Spotlighte:
February 1 isn't so far away as regards application processes but it's still enough time to finish your application.

You should look at dates in November or early December so that there are enough weeks to spare for sending your result to the school of your choice. Just start to gather your other application materials (LoRs, statement of purpose, etc) while reading for the GRE. The GRE is something you have to read properly for, unless you're okay with low scores or repeated writing.

You could register with B. Y Mafit (through a simple Google Search) or ponpon on this thread. They both subsidize the standardized tests fees.

Just breathe and take it one step at a time, okay?

Scared of it though, trying to look at the Feb 1 deadline for application for my course was why I was considering October.
Spotlighte:
Don't you think October is too close for adequate preparations?

You might need more time. Well, I don't know. You might be able to ace it within such little time, after all some Asians only prepare for 20 hours and are able to get great scores.

Cheers
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by oladiran2(m): 3:36pm On Sep 15, 2018
Thanks a lot for your time, It's listed as part of requirements. Would send email to confirm more then since I noticed the requirements hasn't been updated for awhile but would also start preparing to write the GRE hopefully in October.
Spotlighte:
It's not compulsory to write any of the standardized exams especially if the schools you're applying to do not require them. So, it's on you to go through their websites and email messages to know how to go forward from here.

The thing here is that in some visa interview cases, it shows how serious that candidate is; and their preparedness to want to study. It boosts your chances of standing out when admission decisions are being made for funding.

Honestly, I'll suggest you write the germane exams. You might just need them when it's dire. You can use same GRE score for 5 years, TOEFL for 2 years.

Thanks for your response. I intend applying for msc in plant science at the university of Massachusetts amherst but they have these test listed as required in all their offered courses. Does this means I can just apply and ignore the GRE within as been required?? quote author=GboyegaD post=71206076]

GRE isn't compulsory however, it is good to write and ace it if you require funding as it helps in comparing students during admission and also, it is a way to start preparing mentally for graduate school. The idea of a cheap school shouldn't be too much of concern to you rather, I would say focus on schools that offer what you want and see how best you can benefit from their funding.[/quote]
