You all need to be drinking lime or lemon water, and eating ginger.... It low stomach acid.. You need to increase ur stomach acid.. Stop using all what doctors prescribed for you to reduce acid, you are meant to increase acid.... If you can get celery or cabbage juice it every morning (celery mostly)... Or blend it with water, remove/sieve the shaft and drink ur symptoms will reduce... Doctors think its too much acid and dey prescribed you with drugs to reduce acid Nooo... Its bacteria in ur stomach that is producing weird substance that's acid like..... You all must av depleted ur stomach acid with sugar, carbonated drink, alcohol... 0708_ 773 _ 3472 whatapp me

You're right but in a situation endoscopy show you have erosive esophagitis, then u need medication to block acid for some weeks to heal the throat. Definitely high acid and not low. Best advice is ot do endoscopy before taking any medication

Overtime the lower esophagus spinster should heal if you avoid acidic foods and be careful when you lay down after eating.

Unfortunately healing hasn’t been permanent for me and i get symptoms when i do something to yhe extreme (like taking vodka or strong drink, excess pepper or anything that can hurt the LES)

I just bought Nexium esomeprazol now, I will stop Meprasil omeprazole and start using Nexium to complete the dose

Yeah you should get better but also make the necessary lifestyle changes.

Also be careful about long term use of PPI.

Thanks.. I will stop the omeprazole 4 to 8weeks and only use like once in 2weeks to recover fully. Am still looking for nexium omeprazole, I will prefer it to Meprasil omeprazole.
Somehow am feeling dry throat, guess the wound is healing or am reacting to one of the medicine. I guess the vomiting control tab but my vomiting as stopped. No more vomiting, I will use this morning and night, then stop using.

@Finelinks. I have the exact symptoms you listed. How did you know you've ulcer? Who confirmed this?
Mine started this year.. and it hasn't been easy. I met a gastroenterologist and did series of tests.Helicobacter pylori was not detected. I did endoscopy/biopsy; this confirmed I had esophagitis i.e reflux acid. I was given omeprazole pills. My symptoms subsided for awhile, I then stopped taking it. After a month, it came back and in a very aggressive way. It affected me so much that I stopped going to work. I then did a colonoscopy/biopsy to check my colon and so forth, and ultrasound to check my organs. Everything was fine. The gastroenterologist now gave me strong dosage of pantoprazole. So far.. my stomach pains has stopped but I've now just developed a little heartburn. I feel way better now.

How is your health now pls? My endoscopy show am having erosive esophagitis grade B.. Hplori negative, hiv negative, all other test are fine. Only endoscopy show erosive esophagitis

I have managed peptic ulcer for over 10 years. It was very bad at a point but i got better when I visited a Gastro intestinal tract consultant at the general hospital in Lagos.

1. Avoid peppery food
2. Avoid Spicy food
3. Avoid fried foods
4. Avoid oranges, Apple's Eric basically anything acidic. You have more than enough acid in your stomach already.
5. Avoid carbonated drinks or alcoholic drinks e.g. coke, malt Etc. Take water or zobo Etc.
6. Eat little portions at a time and eat about 5 times a day. ensure you have something to eat at all times
7. You may wan to avoid beans because of heartburn.

For drugs...i used different combinations from omeprazole and meteronidazole..unsure of the sppelling(Flagyl) with various antacids Etc.. but i only felt relieved when the doctor prescribed Nexium Esomeprazole..i take 20mg 2x daily and Gascol..i had the option of taking gaviscon which i I had used before but i stuck with Gascol because it works well for me. I also had to do an endoscopy to be sure of.what i was dealing with.

3 years after this treatment, i hardly take my drugs except for days when i eat late or probably took oranges.

Stress also aggravates the pain...so you need to manage your stress level.

Cold yoghurt gives me relief

Hope this helps!

My endoscopy show am having Erosive Esophagitis Grade B. Today I got Meprasil omeprazole, kotase tab and gaviscon. Have used some omeprazole in the past that works for me but the issue keep coming back properly because I only used for few days. Tho from my research I was looking forward to Nexium Omeprazole but too scarce. Should I keep looking for nexium omeprazole? My own chronic symptoms is always stucked throat, Throatburn and mouthburn, at times pain inside stomach also

I went to big pharmacy this evening, luckily I met a good Doctor there who was calm to listen to all my research. I explained everything have used in the past, all the test I Google and end up doing, the result and all. I told him have used omeprazole in the past but the symptoms keep coming back after some months. Just as suspected, half treatment was the issue. Now I will have to use omeprazole for a month non stop, gaviscon, kotase tab for a week, Domperidone 10mg for few days to control my vomiting.

I did my research now and discovered Meprasil omeprazole works for erosive esophagitis truly. I will try and complete this dose this time.

Researching online now, I will have to use the Meprasil omeprazole for 4 to 8weeks non stop, one tab morning and one tab at night, 30mins before eating. Gaviscon morning, afternoon and night like 2hrs after eating. Domperidone one tab morning and one at night for few days to stop vomiting. Kotase tab 2 tablet morning and 2tablet at night for a week to heal the inner wound. I pray this work for me

I would like to ask if anybody here has done an endoscopy?

I did so and found out that it was untreated gastritis that caused me to have GERD. Prior to the endoscopy, I was diagnosed with ulcer.

Please you guys should go for an endoscopy. Get yourself treated on time.

For anyone looking for tips on reducing acid reflux.
1. It doesn't matter if the food is acidic or not, eat small portions. Wait a bit before drinking water.
2. Get a wedge pillow so that your head can stay elevated when you sleep and you can use it to support your back when sitting up.
3. Please see a gastroenterologist. I wish I had seen one once I had the symptoms. If it's gastritis, if it's caught early you won't have any problems. Please note that gastritis has similar symptoms as ulcer.
4. For me drinking yogurt and honey helps at lot for the heartburn. Not Hollandia, buy farm fresh or Greek yogurt. Natural honey as well.

I am repeating this again, go and see a gastroenterologist. Even if it's a one-time consultation. Most general doctors in Nigeria don't know sh!t about stomach problems.

I did endoscopy, the result was erosive esophagitis grade B

You're very welcome.

Truth is most of our Nigerian Doctors are lazy. It's a strong statement to make, but it's unfortunately true.

Most don't venture to learn beyond what they were thought in the classroom.

When it comes to diagnosis of not so familiar ailments, you must do a lot of research on your own based on your symptoms and then suggest to them to run examinations on you for what you suspect. That's your best option, otherwise they'll keep treating for malaria and telling to stop worrying, that there's nothing wrong with you until it too late.

There are few Great Doctors out there too, but they are so few.

Best wishes with your lifestyle modifications. You'll be fine before you know it. If you can though, I'll advice you do an endoscopy if your situation does not improve soon.

Am having this same issue too of stick throat, after visiting different general hospitals and private hospitals, I decided to Google myself. I did endoscopy and discovered am having erosive esophagitis grade B.. My throat is very red.. I used boiled ginger, put little lemon and honey which I drink daily. It works fine but always coming back and making me slim down. Please what do you suggest I do to threat this feeling of something stuck in my throat and bloating stomach. At times i have throat and mouth burn and I vomit a lot. I did over 20 different test, I search online and write those test out myself and I did all. Endoscopy, hiv, stomach scan, malaria, hphylori, bacteria and more. Please i will appreciate if you can give me your contact

Night itch, nausea, loss of appetite, foamy urine, and fatigue in a woman could be one of two things : Uremia or a Cholestatic disease. Uremia has a continuous itch(day and night) - its a close possibility). (does she have leg swelling? Does Her face get puffy in the morning?)

In your body, there's a substance called bile. It contains 2 major substances: bilirubin and bile salts. These substances are put in bile by some body processes. Problem arises when these substances are not put in bile but retained by the body. A high retention of these substances make them increase in concentration in the blood. So a high retention of bile salts would lead to increased concentration of bile salt in the body while a high retention of bilirubin would cause a increased concentration of bilirubin in the body.

I hope you're following.

What the symptoms would be would depend on what substance is more increased. Sometimes, the bile salts are very increased while the bilirubin is normal or moderately elevated and vice versa. For example, in your mothers case, it's very possible that the bile salts are very increased( she has nocturnal itch, nausea, fatigue and most importantly foamy urine) while the bilirubin is still normal or slightly increased. Only a laboratory test would confirm this.

The fact that piriton failed woefully in relieving the itch goes ahead to strengthen the diagnosis of a Cholestatic condition. The itch that comes from a cholestasis is mediated by opiate pathways(very far apart from the realms of piriton). Hence, treatment failures are always recorded.

A liver function test, serum bile salt and serum bilirubin estimation by the labs would confirm these findings.

Most importantly, you might want to take your mom to see a gastroenterologist. Mention the positive findings we've discovered so far when you do.

I hope I've been very helpful.

Please help, I don't know why only my legs are always itching. Serious itching

Okay.. I will see a gastroenterologist

From endoscopy, kidney, abdominal test, bacteria test, hiv, typhoid test, h.pylori, infact I did like 24 different tests within a week and all came back negative and normal. Only Endoscopy showed erosive esophagitis. Today decided to do malaria test and result showed i have P.falciparum

Can Plasmodium falciparum malaria be the cause of my bloating stomach, lower backpain, upper abdomen pain, headache, body weakness and cold

I cannot say as I'm not an authority in gastrointestinal diseases. Good a thing you conducted a highly recommended scan (which I did then) and a well defined problem was discovered. Next is seeing a professional in gastrointestinal diseases.

Please can u tell me how you treated yours, the exact scan u did and probably the hospital u used

That's the problem. You should show the result to a doctor, preferably the one with expertise in gastrointestinal diseases. The disease symptoms has similarities to stomach ulcer, however, it's not ulcer (based on the bold).

Best wishes!

Please if not ulcer, what else can have all these symptoms?
