You would have just ordered for a power bank or get a backup phone with good battery. I'm surprised you switched from Samsung and Huawei to Xiaomi, though.

I don't like power bank, infact I gave the one I once had out. I don't regret switching, I only missed amoled display.

Redmi series and note series are budget oriented series and as such just forget about the notion of AMOLED screens, xiaomi didn't even employ AMOLED on their flagship phones til this year. Increase in price would take it to the level of mi series and this is a deviation for their biz plans for the redmi series.

You could go for mi 8/SE if you are all about display.

I dislike notch. Any durable product with amoled and at least 4000mah battery with good processor is ok by me.
The only thing I missed on my rn5 is amoled screen
Fyi sgn9 is above my budget.

My emphasis is on the battery. Other products have less than 4000mAh battery.
Amoled should be added to redmi note series though price increase is expected

The day I held One plus 6 side by side with Redmi Note 5 is the day I recognise the superiority of AMOLED displays. Nothing compares to the best. Good is good, better is better, but the best is not comparable to the rest. AMOLED display is the BEST! No wonder Samsung phones has always been the champion phones.

In fact you've said it all bro. Samsung was my daily driver before I changed to Honor and now Xiaomi. Amoled display is simply the best.

Miui is one of the best skin with lots of features. I hope Xiaomi introduce Amoled to redmi note series.

If you are keen on this update, backup to an SD card and factory reset. Then after booting up, turn off auto update and try the manual update

I'm not so keen about the update. I'll just make do with the ota for now.
Can't withstand the stress of backup and factory reset.

Then try again.
