My people on this thread...........pls make sure you have a good store on farm just to keep your things. Today, i wanted to spray herbicide. I did the mixing. Filled the sprayer. As i raised the tank to mount it, ......guess what happen. hunnnmm? Okete(Big rodent) has gnawed at the belt. No means of mounting the sprayer. I hav to adjust the belt and re-tighten it. The lesson for all; keep your farm implements very well |

stagger: Here in Nasarawa state, there have been only 3 rains this year: 2 of them in March, and one that fell yesterday 2/5/2015. I am sinking a borehole in my farm location because the paucity of rain combined with the announcement on radio by NIMET I heard in March is going to make this an unstable season for rain-fed farming. Good idea strenghtened by financial power................lol. It rained here in Ibadan, Oyo State today 3-5-15 |

Agriculture › Re: Practical Farmers Pls Share Ur Bitter Experience, Let Learn From Your Mistakes. by OLAMIMO12(m): 11:47pm On May 02, 2015 |
Soloxam: Sir the only bitter experience I have on watermelon was last year when I planted 2 acres of watermelon close to a village called Agbedo along ijaye road before ajibade. My watermelon was doing fine but the villagers will never allow me to harvest my produce before it fully mature. You will just see watermelon slice into two inside the farm, I want to cry but I learn a very great lesson. I was able to harvest cucumber on the same plot because cucumber is not eaten by most of the villager.... I loss all my watermelon to the villagers oooooo...... That is theft. one of the challenges of farming |
Agriculture › Re: My Backyard Cucumber With Pictures by OLAMIMO12(op): 11:13pm On May 02, 2015 |
IamOdin: i thought u said u're preparing two plots?.the size u gave isn't upto a plot oh!.3ft=1m,,,10m by 3ft=30ft,,30 by 3ft=90ft,,so u planted on 30ft by 90ft,am i right?? Am really happy that you are following this thread keenly. That 2plots is meant for hybrid. I planted only 2 rows of cucumber beside a watermelon farm. The rows are very amazing. i then decided to plant more .........10m × 30m. (33 × 100)ft. tnk u Sir. |

First time farmers..........allow yourself to make mistakes, but try to avoid silly ones. Likewise, access yourself regularly to do timely corrections. you will become stronger by doing so. If you afraid mistakes, you wont grow stronger in the field. |
