Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, (JAMB) has announced that selling of 2016 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination, (UTME) forms to commence 31st of August 2015.

Dr Fabian Benjamin the board’s Head of Information declared to the general public on Monday in Lagos that Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will start the selling of 2016 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) application forms from 31st August.

According to Dr Fabian Benjamin he said, the sales is to prepare candidates early for the 2016 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Dr Fabian Benjamin said that candidate can only purchase the examination scratch cards from the following designated banks Skye Bank, Union Bank, First Bank, Zenith Bank, as well as NIPOST from Aug. 31st to Jan. 15th, 2016 at the rate of Five Thousand Naira ₦5,000 only, and also to pay N500 to obtain the textbook, The Last Days at Forcados High School’.

According to the statement “Candidates will, however, be issued the book at the point of registration after showing evidence of payment,’’ the board said, adding that the registration period would span from August 31st to January 15th, 2016. And the registration website would close on January 19th, 2016.

The statement also that UTME had been slated to commence on Feb.29th and end on March 14th, 2016.

The board had advised all prospective candidates to ensure they obtained the application forms early as well as fill their personal data correctly to avoid any mixup.

Good news, West African Examination Council (WAEC) promises to release the May/June 2015 Withheld Results Today as Debtor States Pledge to Pay up the Exam Body.

On Wednesday 12th August, 2015 in Abuja the Head of West African Examination Council (WAEC) Nigerian National Office, Mr. Charles Eguridu, said the body had heeded several appeals and would release the seized results today,

“Eguridu stated that: “We have decided to hearken to the appeals and review our earlier position. More so, the continued withholding of the results will adversely affects the educational prospects of the affected candidates, as the results are, even now, required by many candidates for admission purposes.”

It was announced yesterday 10th August, 2015 by West African Examinations Council (WAEC) official that out of 1,593,442 candidates that sat for May/June 2015 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), 616,370 (38.68%) obtained credit in five subjects and above, including English Language and Mathematics.

This result indicates that the reaming 977,072 (61.32%) candidates did not obtained complete five credit in their subjects.

According to Mr. Charles Eguridu, the Head of the Nigeria National Office (HNO), who disclosed this in Lagos yesterday, said candidates could begin to check their results from Tuesday, the body is still owed by 13 out of the 19 states earlier announced

Mr. Charles also said that the result indicated a slight improvement in candidates’ performance, as it recorded 31.28 per cent in May/June last year and 38.30 per cent in 2013.

He further breakdown the result as follow

1,498,069 (94.01%) candidates, have their results fully released,

95,373 (5.99%) candidates, have a few of their subjects still being processed due to some errors mainly traceable to the candidates and schools in the course of registration or writing the examination.

758,849 (47.62 %) candidates obtained six credits and above.

949,862 (59.61%) candidates obtained five credits and above.

114,988 (69.97%) candidates obtained credits and above in four subjects.

1,295,915 (78.81%) candidates obtained credit and above in three subjects.

1,376,743 (86.40%) candidates obtained credit and above in two subjects.

118,101 (7.41%) candidates’ results are being withheld in connection with various cases of examination malpractice.
