I wish i had the power to send thunder to the referee who was in Charge of the Nigeria game i would have sent it to the Referee and VAR Room since yesterday
The main job was done by VAR room. Selective application of the rule. VAR says that 2nd penalty that was scored should have been cancelled and a yellow card for France player number 6 for encroaching. VAR purposedly missed that.
SIX PUNISHMENTS FOR NIGERIA:
1. Penalty
2. Ebere yellow card
3. Ebere red card
4. Penalty retaken
5. Nnadozie yellow card
6. Goal.

6 game changing punishments for a foul the referee would never have given if not summoned by VAR. I have read the IFAB rules and encroachment is the same punishment as keeper off the line.

Good morning all. Still cant get the VAR incidence off my head. 6 punishments for Nigeria for an innocuous challenge.

SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m):
I have been pausing and replaying that highlight. Honestly, Nnadozie did no wrong. She moved as soon as the French player made to kick the ball. She was behind the line then and only moved when Renard moved to kick. Anyone can pause play at any time, but VAR chose to pause it after Nnadozie's feet had landed on the ground. Such minor details can be interpreted in any way. The moment the VAR paused to show Nnadozie off the line, the ball was already in the air.

I am 100% sure if a good video editor pauses the frame when Renard actually touched the ball, Nnadozie will be behind the line. She did no wrong!

Damn I cant sleep, just having flashbacks to this VAR goon Danny MAKKELIE.
VAR should be for clear and obvious miss. The referee was well positioned for the pen, and she did not give it. It is easier to see contact when things are slowed down. Our mumu NFF all have figureheads. They should have rejected an European VAR ref when playing an European team.

You’re spot on about the mental part of the game. If Nigeria eventually qualifies, the girls may be too scared to even attempt to touch the ball when it’s between her and the opponent, fearing that the referee will issue her a yellow card.
It’s truly sickening!!
The first yellow Ebere got was not a yellow, the 2nd yellow was double punishment for a cheap cheap pen. Everything about officiating stinks. The same VAR guy who didnt give us anything against Norway was drafted to this match. Surely that should never happen. You cannot have a VAR ref from same confederation as one of the teams playing. They could NEVER have an Malawian VAR ref if Nigeria plays Portugal for example. Only Africans are treated this way.

Personally, I doubt we will qualify. The whole thing has been fixed. New Zealand will likely get a dodgy penalty too just to keep the 2nd round white.

mostob:
let us for argument sake agree that the goalkeeper was off her line, but she
didn't not make the save, she didn't touch the ball. You played the ball out
yourself, so why should you be given another chance to replay the penalty. It's
just like a player in an offside position if he doesn't touch the ball or interfere
with play then game on, no offside
Everything about that 2nd pen is a farce.
1. The new IFAB rule says encroachment or keeper off the line should not be reviewed by VAR. It is a decision for the ref, same way VAR does not check yellow cards.
2. You rightly pointed out. Nnadozie did not influence the miskick. She was doubly punished for the French poor play.

FIFA really stinks to high heavens of corruption. Damn!! Im really pissed. I dont think this team is strong enough to go on. I heard in the press conference from French Journalists that Nnadozie was crying unconsolably in the hallway and saying we were cheated. Dennerby was very angry and only answered 2 questions before throwing down the mic at the press conference. Even if we qualify, we are really broken by the way the match turned out.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:38pm On Jun 17, 2019
Im really sad. Good night guys... Except we score.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:33pm On Jun 17, 2019
Penalty MISSSSSSSSSSSSSS
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:32pm On Jun 17, 2019
Penalty for me. Ref gives it. Red card for Nigeria.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:30pm On Jun 17, 2019
Potential penalty for France. VAR checking. Possible red card for Nigeria here too.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:29pm On Jun 17, 2019
20 minutes. Some tired legs, wont the coach make a sub?
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:28pm On Jun 17, 2019
A tough shot hits Onome's 2 juggles and they bounce with outstanding resonance. Onome is good to continue. Those jugs have met more force than that.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:26pm On Jun 17, 2019
Wish we could start wasting time... like players start falling and forming cramps. We need to ride this out.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:24pm On Jun 17, 2019
25 minutes is a long long time.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:24pm On Jun 17, 2019
Oh my world. How did France not score? They are knocking the gate a lot now. Opening our defence like its not even there.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:20pm On Jun 17, 2019
France bringing on their machine gun and bazooka. Can our bulletproof defence hold on?
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:19pm On Jun 17, 2019
We are stretched. France bring on a winger to take advantage. Squeaky bum time.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:17pm On Jun 17, 2019
Bigggggg miss by France. Our defence is opened up and France have a free player who tried too much to curl it to the net. We are living dangerously. 30 minutes more.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:15pm On Jun 17, 2019
The calmness of Chikwelu.... like she's been given her own match bonus.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:14pm On Jun 17, 2019
Female VVD gets a free header but it goes wide. We survive.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:11pm On Jun 17, 2019
Norway 2-0. If we score, Norway top the group..
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:10pm On Jun 17, 2019
Big chance for France. Side netting.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:09pm On Jun 17, 2019
Nnadozie has been hardly tested in this match, unlike Korea match.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:08pm On Jun 17, 2019
PDPGuy:
Yes. We need Ajibade in this game. She’s the one player that can spring those through-passes to both Oshoala and Oparanozie. I’d take off Okobi, who has been ineffective so far
I'll take off Oshoala and bring Ajibade.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:07pm On Jun 17, 2019
France have upped the tempo, but still its weak attacks. This match has only 1 goal max in it.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:04pm On Jun 17, 2019
A non foul gifts France a free kick. They get a free header in our box...it goes wide.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 9:03pm On Jun 17, 2019
2nd half underway. We should be solid.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 8:56pm On Jun 17, 2019
TV struggling to find first half chances for France. When we played France in the friendly, it was 3-0 at half time. Though that day, we had the likes of Esther Sunday and legelege players. These ones seem like they are well fed in Swedish akpu.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 8:54pm On Jun 17, 2019
Analysts in the house....can we stay disciplined till last minute? Or the 9ja madness will enter for 1 minute and we ruin things? Any subs? I'll bring Ajibade in 65 mins just in hope she can find one through ball. Otherwise, we've been solid defensively.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 8:47pm On Jun 17, 2019
We're half way there. I cannot remember the last time a Nigerian team was this disciplined. Like Abacha is on the bench with Sgt Rogers waiting for the girls.

Half time at 0-0.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 8:46pm On Jun 17, 2019
Wife stands up and leaves me to finish watching 1st half. Our coach has killed all tempo in our bid for draw. He's good at what he does.
Columbian ref grows balls and dishes out Yellow card to Gauvin or Guava after she attempted to pluck Onome's right eye. Onome as proper isale eko girl has dodged it.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 8:43pm On Jun 17, 2019
5 mins to half time. My daughter comes to console me. She's 1 year 2 months. Rita Chikwelu fouled and French player acts like shes the one fouled. Cheating Europeans.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 8:39pm On Jun 17, 2019
Chikwelu my mummy holding things tight in midfield. She likes to attract the French girls. She's probably wearing Victoria Secret deodorants and want them all to smell it.
