Dude Cameroon might be the reason we don't qualify bro.
No sir. We go to round 2 together with Cameroon. Africa United! cheesy cheesy
Chile can NEVER beat Thailand by more than 2 goals. Even if Thailand is playing with 9 players.
Sports / Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 6:22pm On Jun 20, 2019
OOooooooooooh Cameroon had like 4 attempts at once and all were blocked
Sports / Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 6:19pm On Jun 20, 2019
VAR should give Cameroon a penalty there.
Sports / Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 6:18pm On Jun 20, 2019
If it stays at 1-0, Nigeria still ahead of Cameroon.
Sports / Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 6:17pm On Jun 20, 2019
YES! Cameroon joining Nigeria in round 2.

I have also talked about dropping Okobi but she picked up last match and I don't think now is the time because that would basically mean the coach fielding a new midfield at this stage in a competition if we make it.
Exactly. We have about 4 outfield players not available to play. The team virtually picks itself now. We could afford to drop Okobi if Chikwelu wasnt suspended. I think its time for players like AJibade to step up and take the occasion same way Nnadozie and Okeke did.

That comeback by Argentina will hopefully have given the girls a big lift.
Some tasty match ups in next round:
France vs Brazil
England vs China or Cameroon(?)
USA vs Spain
Italy vs Nigeria or China
Germany vs Nigeria or Brazil.

If Nigeria luckily qualifies for the next round of the competition, Okobi and Ayinde should not even dress up as substitutes. One of the problems that engulf Africans is inability to make a drastic change.
Guy you can't be a coach o. With all the injuries and suspensions those 2 will absolutely start

VAR coming into premier league next season will be lit. If they also enforce this new penalty rules, the refs may not be able to handle the backlash. Mike Dean and co will look like angels when VAR comes in. That Scottish keeper was on the fecking line.

Super falcons are absolutely buzzing in their hotel now. They believe they have qualified. I am thinking maybe Oshoala can recover before saturday now. Anyways, I am OK if Asisat does not play. We have players to replace her. Our greatest miss are Ebere and Chikwelu. Absolute engines. Ebere takes all set pieces, so we have to delegate Okobi to do that. Also, Ayinde needs to step up to Chikwelu's position.

Twitter is boiling right now. The Brits have brought out their daggers.

Truly, the goalkeeper "one foot on the goal line" penalty rule must go. It's grossly unfair to the goalie.
It is impossible to save the next penalty. Even if saved, the keeper is likely 1 mm off the line. They might as well call every penalty a goal. Imagine a professional player not scoring a pen when the keeper is rooted to one spot.

OK people, I am 100% sure Thailand will not lose to Chile by 3-0. If anything, Thailand is likely to win that match. Chile is tier 4, Thailand is Tier 3.

We will beat Germany btw. If we play like we did against France, Germany is toast.

Full Time!

Scotland Vs Argentina ends 3 - 3.

Excellent result for Nigeria. We still hope. . .
I am absolutely sure Chile will not beat Thailand by 3-0. I now wish for Cameroon and Nigeria to qualify. Im so happy tonight.

FIFA will hear it from the vocal British media. This VAR and penalty decisions will die soon.

Congratulations Nigeria. We are 99% sure of going through now. Thailand will deal with Chile. Phew!
Now we can start discussing Nigeria vs Germany. Miracle!

YESSSSSSSSSS 3-3. We are going through if this remains like this. Unbelievable. VAR is sweet

Argentina please score and keep it a draw. To me this match is the most determinant. No way Cameroon won't beat NZ
Sports / Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 8:22pm On Jun 19, 2019
Damn Scotland score. We need an Argentine equalizer.
Sports / Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 8:18pm On Jun 19, 2019
Argentina looking sharp. They want to score.

PDPGuy:

Yes. The remaining two best 3rd-team spots are between Nigeria, Argentina, Scotland, New Zealand, Cameroon, Chile and Thailand.

Nigeria would be guaranteed a knockout place if the Argentina v Scotland, New Zealand v Cameroon, and Chile v Thailand matches all end in draws. This is a LONG shot scenario though.
Funny enough, Japan could finish third in their group if they lose to England, and Argentina beat Scotland by a 2-goal margin.
So we dont need all the matches to end in a draw. We just need 1 or 2 to end in a draw. Chile can beat Thailand 2-0 and still not go through. I personally think Chile will not beat Thailand by much. Thailand are not pushovers like that. Argentina vs Scotland is the massive one for me. If they draw tomorrow night, we are almost guaranteed a place. Cameroon will beat NZ and join us in the R16. I fear VAR will help Scotland tomorrow. The VAR ref for that match....is European! There's a pattern for these things now. VAR ref is European, expect an European VAR advantage. They have used bias to kill VAR in its infancy.

Unpopular Opinion

Penalty rebound opportunity should be removed in football. The penalty should be between the player and the goalie. If the goalie parries the ball, the match should be restarted with a goal kick.
Agreed! The penalty advantage is really being stretched now. A simple penalty yesterday cost Nigeria 2 players and a lot of heartbreak.

uchenna and ajibade have to play KANU is very fast and ajibade has vision and eye for goal perfect replacement for okobi.... I think dennerby is scared to unleash the young players.. if faith wasn't injured okeke would still be rotting on the bench if oluehi didn't fumble against Norway nnadozie would be rotting on the bench dennerby need to trust the young players
Ihezuo too with her pitbull strength.

oshoala is out of the tournament .....if Nigeria goes through oshoala ,ebere and chikwelu will be missing who will u have as their replacement against Germany?
As bad as this news is, it opens the door to a more energetic Nigerian display against Germany (if we make it). I'll just put Ordega in her position and deploy Ajibade to replace Ordega. Ogonna Chukwudi should be readying herself because its like the team is down to bare bones now.
By tomorrow night after Scotland vs Argentina, then we will know 90% if we're qualifying. If that game ends in a draw, then we should start travelling to where we will play on Tuesday next week.

Chiamaka will grow and learn from this. She will be a tougher goalie in future, but these images pain me to the bone. cry

This is the next frame.. The ball has left the foot, Chiamaka is still on the line.

Sports / Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 10:07am On Jun 18, 2019
This is the moment JUST BEFORE the ball was kicked.
The next action after this was the ball being kicked. The keeper was preparing to jump to save the pen and the striker was ready to strike. What happens in the next frame is that the keeper jumps and the striker kicks.
Now someone can pause AFTER the keeper lands from her jump and say she was off the line. For me, Chiamaka does brilliantly.
