She's a citizen and a Registered Nurse in one of the top 5 richest country in Europe scadivannia with her kids....i completed the house 3 years ago anyway im no longer in Nigeria im gonna find my way abroad from where i am target is yankee and I can see progress ....will comeback to NL and give my story sometime in the future na turn by turn

I built house for my sister in Europe the house my parents are living now i did everything in her name from start to finish.....then some guys said i should build mine from there instead or use the money to travel abroad at one time i have 2.5million in my account for the house project...but I never listened to them she could have use my elder brother or father but she choose me the last child among 7 cos she trusted me and I didn't disappoint her, But what what do I got in return? "You are crazy and mad na your parents you build house for nor me be me" because i confronted her about our plans to take me abroad after i finish the project now i finished building she just locked up. The thing pain me but i didn't have any regrets i did it for my parents but the owner of the house is not grateful very ungrateful....this is my own experience anyway I pity the guy very bad

Let me give word of wisdom to our people living overseas

Pls if u want to build in nigeria,look for two relatives you knw very well are not in good terms with each other(we call them cat and rat relatives),
entrust your money to both of them.lets say if one buy sand and granite,the other will buy cement etc.

just relax where ever u are,the two of them will be check and balance to each other.they will monitor each other and once one of them discover an act of fraud from the other,he calls u and vice versa.

Infact you should be ready for periodic updates and complain from both parties,by this u get a clear picture of what is going on in your site

That's the problem. Family will cheat you, even if you decide to give it to reputable contractors, how reputable will they be? They will still siphon and cheat you once they know you are based abroad.

Buying will be too cost to building from scratch. The beauty of building from scratch is that, you can build it to your taste.

Sending money to family to build for you can be dangerous "cuz everyone eyes dey shook for money in this Nigeria o."

Nothing like this is my brother he can't do such to me. They will flex the money or use it to buy lands for themselves and nothing one will do as a person.

This has been my major concern. How do we go about building our own houses here in Nigeria when living abroad?

Should it be that one should use his annual leave period of 4 weeks to rush down to Nigeria and start his project himself and the contractor continue from there while updating him with videos and pictures of the progress of the project?

Some people do that in the property section though. But I know the contractor will cheat them on a huge rate.

This has been going on for years,and s company was set up and build houses at that targeted market, Edo state.but so many Edo people in Europe are illiterates.

Men are not going to school in the east and you have more women in school than men,when the men are done they start this small businesses or travel to Asia ,this are part of the issues.if you don't have skill or education you easily start that and become rich.
there are more industries in ogun state than the whole of southeast .so you cannot say that ,because ogun state is a state and created policies for factories in ogun state.so what about your own individual states?

No society can survive without a govt cos you need a government to function but that doesnt mean that everyone waits for handout from government to surive or feed. Except for few who have links to govt or dependent on politics. Their are many who were born, lived and died without any meaningful benefit from government in nigeria

In Nigeria wealth is distributed according to the number of states and local government,not according to income produced in a state.so ask yourself how the southeast states and local governments are funded and from where does the money come from?to pay salaries of government workers and public servants.so politics is important and you need it more than they need you.they know the game and you are still on a wrong mindset.

I thought you were educated?how come you have this mind set ,that you don't survive with out government,that is a wrong assumption.the most productive part of Niger is western part of Nigeria ,and the Bonny island in Nigeria Delta,all other part use the money from this two zones .stop that mind set,many igbos say this and it's wrong.
