China says it firmly supports the Nigerian government as it “leads its people on the development path suited to its national conditions”. Addressing a press conference on Tuesday in Beijing, Mao Ning, spokesperson of China’s foreign ministry, said “as Nigeria’s comprehensive strategic partner, China firmly opposes any country using religion and human rights as an excuse to interfere in other countries’ internal affairs, and threatening other countries with sanctions and force”. Ning was answering a question on US President Donald Trump’s threat of military action in Nigeria over alleged persecution of Christians. She also responded to the report that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro is seeking military equipment from China, Russia, and Iran to prepare for possible attacks by the US. “China has a clear-cut stance on the US cracking down on so-called ‘drug cartels’ by force in the Caribbean Sea,” Ming said. “China supports the effort of combating cross-border crimes through stronger international cooperation, and opposes using or threatening to use force in international relations. We stand against moves that undermine peace and stability in the Latin America and the Caribbean region, and oppose unilateral and excessive ‘enforcement operations’ against other countries’ vessels. We hope the U.S. will engage in normal law enforcement and judicial cooperation through bilateral and multilateral legal frameworks.” On Saturday, Trump asked the US department of war to prepare for “possible action” in Nigeria. Trump warned the Nigerian government to act fast to end the “killing of Christians” in the country. He had also called Nigeria a “disgraced country”. “If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria, and may very well go into that now disgraced country, ‘guns-a-blazing’, to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities,” the US leader said. “I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. “If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our CHERISHED Christians! WARNING: THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT BETTER MOVE FAST!” The Nigerian government has repeatedly baulked at claims of a Christian genocide in the country. In a riposte to Trump’s redesignation, President Bola Tinubu said: “The characterisation of Nigeria as religiously intolerant does not reflect our national reality, nor does it take into consideration the consistent and sincere efforts of the government to safeguard freedom of religion and beliefs for all Nigerians. Religious freedom and tolerance have been a core tenet of our collective identity and shall always remain so. Nigeria opposes religious persecution and does not encourage it.” https://www.thecable.ng/breaking-china-warns-against-interference-in-nigerias-affairs-after-us-threat-of-military-action/ |

Former Kenyan Prime Minister and opposition leader Raila Odinga has died at the age of 80. His passing marks the end of a long and influential career in Kenyan politics. Odinga, a towering figure in Kenya’s political landscape, had been receiving treatment in India prior to his death at an Ayurvedic treatment center. This is according to reports by Reuters. Over the years, he contested five presidential elections, losing each time, with two of those contests triggering episodes of severe political violence and national unrest. https://nairametrics.com/2025/10/15/former-kenyan-prime-minister-raila-odinga-dies-at-80/ |

Just pray that what is happening in Nigeria never happens to you. We are not safe in this country, and our government is only focused on the 2027 election. |

Hello everyone, please I need some guidance. I’m using a Felicity IVPS 3.5kVA 3524 inverter together with a Felicity MPPT SCCM6048 (60A) charge controller. I want to know the correct way to pair both so they work together properly to charge the lithium battery. Are there specific settings I need to adjust on either the inverter or the charge controller? I have the communication cable. Recommended settings would really help. Thanks in advance. |
If this stands unchallenged, it sets a dangerous precedent as future Presidents could suspend governors at will under the guise of ‘emergency’ and restore them at convenience. The law should not bend to politics. |
Brazil is earning my admiration because the rule of law works there. Under Bolsonaro, Lula da Silva was imprisoned, and now with Lula as president, Bolsonaro himself faces the threat of prison. |
More money for politicians to squander and loot, while citizens are forced to bear the weight of new taxes. |
Yemen’s Houthi rebels say the prime minister and a number of other ministers in their government were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Thursday. The rebels said Ahmed al-Rahawi was killed in the strike on the capital Sanaa, which also left others seriously wounded. Rahawi is the most senior figure in the Iran-backed Houthis to be killed in Israeli’s campaign against the group. The ministers were targeted during “a routine workshop held by the government to evaluate its activity and performance over the past year,” the presidency said in a statement carried on Houthi-run television. The gathering of top Houthi officials, reportedly to watch a speech by the group’s secretive leader, appears to have been a prime opportunity for Israel to target the Iran-backed rebels leaders in one operation. The Houthi Minister of Defense, Maj. Gen. Mohammad Nasser al-Atifi, said the Houthis are ready “at all levels to confront the US-backed Zionist enemy” in a statement carried on Houthi-run television soon after the news was announced. There was no immediate comment from Israel, but officials on Thursday said the military had targeted Houthi leaders days after the group fired a missile that contained a new type of cluster sub-munition. The Houthis have been targeting Red Sea shipping in solidarity with Palestinians following the October 7 attacks, and have fired a number of missiles at Israel, most of which have been intercepted. A shift in strategy Since the start of the war in Gaza nearly two years ago, Israel has used its robust intelligence advantage to eliminate the leaders of Iran’s closest proxies in the Middle East. https://edition.cnn.com/2025/08/30/middleeast/yemen-houthis-prime-minister-israel-intl?Date=20250830&Profile=CNN&utm_content=1756564479&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter |

Talking about low salaries seems misplaced when ordinary citizens can’t afford a decent meal. Public schools are decaying, hospitals lack essentials, and the minimum wage is a joke, yet the government obsesses over politician's pay. |
bassdow:Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I truly appreciate your guidance, and I’ll definitely go for the one with the lithium settings. |
Quick question for the experts in the house. Can this old model Felicity 60A MPPT, which does not have lithium settings, charge a Firman 5kWh 24V lithium battery, and can I use the user-defined option in the battery selection settings?

You would never see Dangote, Tony Elumelu, or Otedola act like that. Those men have class, and class is something money alone can never buy. How can you stand to block a plane from taxiing as if you are in Oshodi blocking a molue bus? Something he would never dare to try in another country. |
